on chapter 16 and verse 25 all
right now forget this is the time this is the the night before
the crucifixion all this from beginning with chapter 12 through
the crucifixion all happened within a 24 hour period and this
here was Tuesday night before the crucifixion on Wednesday
morning Now, the Bible said in verse 25, These things have I
spoken unto you in Proverbs, that the time cometh when I shall
no more speak unto you in Proverbs, but I shall show you plainly
of the Father. Alright, so we see here that
the Bible says that Jesus is speaking in Proverbs and he's
illustrating doctrinal truths or hidden truths that we don't
know anything about right at the time. But look at verse 26
and that day you shall ask in my name And I shall not say unto
you that I will pray the father for you Now folks watch verse
27. I'm going to show you something
there for the father himself loveth you all right now watch
this now the bible said the father himself loveth you reason because
You have loved me and have believed that I came from the Father. Alright, so then God's love is
passed on to those that believe Jesus. Right? A person says,
God loves you. God loves those that believe
Jesus. There it is. The display of God's
love is passed on to all those that believe Jesus. Alright,
verse 28. Came forth from the father and
I'm coming to the world again I leave the world and go to the
father Now there's something in that verse that I'll have
to admit. I can't exactly say I fully understand it It's either
one of two things Notice what notice that little word in there
again Do you see it? The Bible says I come forth from
the father and am coming to the world again. I Now that would
have to mean one of two things, either he came here at creation
or before creation, right? Or he's talking about the time
he came the first time and he's illustrating, he's going back
using the past tense there. Now I don't know which is which,
I'm not really sure. But nevertheless, this verse
tells us here, it's one of the many verses that tells us that
Jesus is the eternal God. Alright. He says, I leave the
world and go to the Father. Now look at verse 29. His disciples
saith unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no
proverb. Now they got a broadcast on the
radio that says the plain truth by Herbert W. and Garner Ted
Armstrong. There's the plain truth, folks,
right there. That's no proverb. That's the plain truth that Jesus
came in the world and He's gone back to the Father. And the Bible
said that's no proverb, that's the truth. Alright, now look
at verse 30. This disciple now, they spoke
back to him and he said this, Now are we sure that thou knowest
all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee? By this
we believe that thou camest forth from God. Now I want to show
you something here that's practical today and show you how this works
on people today. The disciples said, yes Lord,
we believe you and we know that you're the one that God sent
and we know, we believe that thou camest forth from God. That's
what Jesus had been telling them now for the past three years,
isn't it? That's what he had been illustrating to them for
the past three years, right? And now they says, we believe
that. But look at the reply Jesus made
to that, and it's just like it is today among most people. Jesus
answered, do you now believe? He said in other words, do you
really believe it? Now folks, look here. You go
up to somebody and say, I'd like to invite you to church. Oh,
I believe. I like to come to church. I used
to go to church. Oh yeah, I believe all that. You might say, do you
believe? Then why is your life in the
condition it's in? Why are you in the condition
you're in? Notice what Jesus said in that
next verse. Jesus answered them, do you now
believe? He said, do you really believe
it? Do you believe it? Now look why he knew. See, Jesus
knew they didn't believe it. Because the next verse tells
us why. Behold the hour cometh yea and
now is that you shall be scattered every man to his own see and
Shall leave me alone. And yet I am not alone because
the father's with me Jesus said The hour is here. The time has
come when every one of you are gonna scatter just like folks
are today everybody scatters off to what he believed within
his own self and disregarding the Word of God, disregarding
the Bible or anything else. You see that? You see it? Look folks, if these eleven men
had to believe that in their heart, now they heard it, and
they said, I believe it, but when it comes to the practical
appliance of it in their life, when it comes to doing it, what
happens? They went off on their own, didn't they? Just like people
are today. If they'd have really believed
it, they would have said, when Jesus was crucified, they would
have said, alright fellas, we've got three days and three nights
and he'll be back. No need for us to get excited,
no need for us to go out again, go back fishing, or go back to
the old life. We are going to wait till he comes, right? Now
let me show you the difference. What did they do when Jesus was
put on the cross? Did they scatter? Did they? Every one of them did,
just like he said he would, didn't he? What did they do though after
he appeared to them after the resurrection? Did they ever scatter
again? No, because they really believed it then, didn't they?
Right? See folks, it just goes to show
this, no matter what a man says he believes, or what he thinks,
until God performs something in him, he'll be the same old
man no matter what he is, or what he thinks he is, or what
he says he is. You see that? Now Jesus told them about these
things and they said yes we believe it we understand it now we really
believe it and Jesus said do you really believe it because
the hour is here and it's coming when every one of you is going
to scatter not according to what I said but you're going to go
off on your own thing. Believe in what you want to believe
and do what you want to do. that's what we got today that's
what we got this morning all over this town all over this
country people are going off running off here and there to
what they believe on their own disregarding what the Bible said
disregarding what Jesus said and that's exactly what they're
doing all right look at here now show
you something else in here that's uh you might apply this Jesus
said this you might apply this to yourself He said, you're going
to leave me, every one of you, but I won't be alone because
the Father will be with me. Now you take it like this, you
apply that to you. If the world does leave you,
if everybody turns against you, you're still not alone if you're
saved because he said, I'll never leave you nor forsake you, right?
And if the whole world leaves you, you still got the majority
because you and God are the majority. Right? So what difference does
it make if you're saved and you intend to live for God what difference
does it make what people say about you or do to you or anything
else. Okay now look at look at this
uh the next verse verse 33 this will conclude this chapter and
I'll move right on into chapter 17 and get a little bit of that
covered. Verse 33, These things have I spoken unto you, that
in me you might have peace. Now you'll notice there are two
things mentioned here. Jesus said I've spoken these things,
that number one, in me. Okay? And the reference there
is to himself, Jesus. He said in me, what are you going
to have? What does Jesus offer every man? Peace, okay? He said in me you're going to
have peace. But, he said in something else. There's something else
mentioned there. In the world. In the world. In the world, what are you going
to have? all right we're in christ but
we're in the world geographically we're still in the world until
we leave this world by death all right so he said in me you're
going to have peace that's a promise that's a promise that god made
of course i'll talk about some more that who he made it to in
just a moment but he said in me you'll have peace but in the
world you shall have tribulation didn't say you probably are going
to or you might or there's a great chance of it, or it could be,
or some of you will, he says, in me, definite distinction of
that, you will have tribulation in the world. Because the world
doesn't believe in Jesus, the world is not godly, the world
is ungodly, the world doesn't love Jesus, the world doesn't
love the church, the world doesn't love the word of God, and he
said because of that, they're going to give you trouble. But, notice the conjunction there.
but be of good cheer but even though if you got this you're
gonna have this but be of good cheer because why I have overcome
the world And we've already discussed all
that in the book of revelations, but I won't get off into that
right now. But I will show you something about this. Didn't
we understand this? That getting saved doesn't always
get you out of trouble, does it? As a matter of fact, getting
saved a lot of times gets you in trouble with this world, doesn't
it? But folks, you've got to remember this. When you get saved,
the devil can't damn you, so what's he gonna try to do? Try
to ruin you, right? all right now here's the thing
about it if the devil sees you right here and you're running
along life's course and life's road and the devil knows that
prosperity or success will turn you from God he'll let you have
he'll let you have prosperity and let you have success but
you look at that thing this morning you look at it like this i don't
know if there's any lost people here or not but you look at it
like this this morning if you're saved what would you exchange
to go to hell Now if somebody comes up to you this morning
and says look here, I understand you're a Christian. Now if you're
a slave, I know you're eternal. I'm just going to use something
here to show you something. If the devil comes up to you this
morning and says look here, I understand you're a slave. I'll tell you what I'll
do. I would like to give you a million dollar mansion. I would
like to give you about four or five $20,000 automobiles. I'd like to give you all the
money that you could spend from now the rest of your life. lets
you have a jet plane to travel everywhere. Anything that this
world has, I offer it to you on a silver platter free of charge,
only one condition. You say, what is it? When you
die, your soul is mine. Now you see that? Now Jesus said,
what will a man give in exchange for his soul? And you know the
sad thing about that is the world is selling out cheap. You know,
you could almost understand a man, in a sense, giving up his soul
for something like that, but for a man to sell his soul for
a bottle of liquor, or a woman, or some of these other little
things that men are selling out for today. You know? I mean,
that's what really gets to you. Jesus said, I've overcome the
world. Alright, the world's going to cause us trouble. But he said,
don't worry about that, I've took care of that too. See, the world today, they're
having a good time. They're living it up. It's theirs. Everything here belongs to the
unsaved world. This world today belongs to the unsaved world.
Somebody wrote a song one time and said, he's got the whole
world in his hands. Who's he talking about? He weren't
talking about God. There's nowhere in this Bible
where it says God's got this whole world in his hands. The
Bible said the devil is the God of this world and the prince
of this world. The devil holds this world in his hands this
morning. Not God. But Jesus said I've
overcome that. So if he's overcome that and
we're in him, what does that mean to us? We're overcome too,
right? Alright, now I want to take you
in chapter 17. Now chapter 17 is one of the
greatest chapters in the Bible. in this area as far as prayer.
Now what it is, what chapter 17 is, it's the night before
the cross and no doubt probably it's a I may miss this within
an hour and a half but it's somewhere now between 1030 and 12 o'clock Tuesday night when John
chapter 17 begins. When Jesus enters into the garden
So, and it's called, if you got a Schofield Bible, it's called
the prayer of intercession, and that's what it is. And I'll show
you why it's called that in just a minute. I'll show you, give
you something on that. Now folks, you know, you've heard folks
say, well, the Lord's Prayer. We say the Lord's Prayer. I made
some mention of this last week, and it's found over in Matthew
chapter 6, and I forget the verse. But I don't, let me turn back
there just a minute. I'm going to show you a difference now. And what
the world says, the Lord's Prayer, and what the Lord's Prayer is
and show you why there's a difference. So take your Bible and go back
to Matthew chapter 6 and I want you to read that Lord's Prayer.
Now I made some mention of this last week. I didn't discuss it
all in great depth but I'm going to just say a few things more
about it this morning. In Matthew chapter 6 and verse
9 I'll show you the difference and what the world said the Lord's
Prayer and the Lord's Prayer that's recording in John chapter
17. Now let me read it and I want
to show you something in this and you pay close attention as
we go through this. Jesus said in Matthew 6 verse
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them from your father north what
things ye have need of before ye ask. Ask this manner, therefore
pray ye. Our Father, which art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins as we forgive our debtors. And lead
us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the
kingdom, the power and the glory forever. Amen. How many of you
have always heard that's the Lord's Prayer? How many believe
it? No? That's the Disciples Prayer.
Notice how he starts it off. How does he start it off? Huh? Our Father. Right? Alright. Did Jesus ever
say Our Father? If he had said Our Father, what
would that have meant? He was a sinner like any other man,
wasn't he? Huh? He said this is the way
you pray. Who did he say it to? The disciples,
right? You pray our Father. It's a disciples
prayer. It's a tribulation prayer for
the coming of the millennial kingdom that he came the first
time to set up. And Israel refused him so he
didn't set it up yet. It's been put in a box or like
this. He came to set up the kingdom.
They refused him. So the kingdom is now set aside
like this because in here is the church. Right? And when the church age is over,
what's he going to do? He's going to pick it up here just like
he came the first time to do. Okay? So that is the disciple's
prayer. The Lord's prayer is in John
chapter 17 and it's called a prayer of intercession. Now let me show
you something, who it's for in that chapter. Chapter 1, verse
1, chapter 17. The Bible said, These words spake
Jesus and said, Father, the hour is come okay the hour is come
glorify thy son that thy son may also glorify thee now you'll
notice there there's Jesus said the hour is come the hour there
simply means the time most of the time you find that word in
the Bible hour it's always a reference to time and the time had come
The time for the purpose of Jesus coming into the world was about
to be carried out. Now let me just stop right there
and make that real clear. The reason Jesus came, now most
folks will say he came for some reason, he came to heal, he came
to raise the dead and all this, you know. But folks, Jesus had
one specific reason for coming to the world. And I hope you know what that
reason is, because I'm going to tell you, if you're mixed up
in life, you get straight on it this morning. He came in this
world to die. He didn't come to live. He didn't
come to set an example either. Boy, that hits a lot of theology,
don't it? He didn't come to heal, and he
didn't come to set an example. Somebody said, I think we should
follow Christ's example. Well, you ain't never followed
Christ's example. How in the world can an unsaved man follow
the example of a righteous man? How in the world can any man
do anything that's right unless God makes it right in him? He
can't. Alright, so the Bible says the
hour has come glorify thy son and God glorified him on the
cross and Jesus glorified God in the resurrection, right? there's
a double thing there the father glorified the son and the son
glorified the father all right look at verse 2 folks watch this
as thou has given him power over all flesh that he should give
eternal life to as many as thou has given him and notice that
word to as many now who is he talking about there
Notice that word there, to as many, as many who? Who is he
talking about? The reference there is to the
11 disciples. Now let me show you, look up
there at verse 8, same chapter verse 8. For I have given unto
them, them who, the 11, the 11. Now folks, here's the way that
thing works. Let me show you something that's doctrinal here
that might help you understand the condition of the world today.
When Jesus came down from heaven, he came in this world. He came
in the world here. The world was something like
it is now. There was all kinds of religions, right? There was
Pharisees, Sadducees, Herodians, and all kinds of offspring of
cults off of them. And they had took the law that
they were supposed to have been going by and living under and
had perverted it and changed it to fit their way of life. Right? We read really in the
Bible, there was called the School of Prophets, but there was really
only one man in the Bible that had any godliness about him before
at the first coming of Christ and that was John the Baptist,
right? What was the world like? There was nothing godly in this
world. The world had been 400 years. 400 years and the world
had heard nothing from God. And everybody had just gone off
in their religious tandem and their own ungodly ways for 400
years. And Jesus came and he sent one
man, John the Baptist, that was to be the forerunner of Jesus
Christ. Let me show you what happened.
Jesus came. here and he called out 1, 2,
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 men and one of them was a devil so
he had 11 left all right these 11 men here Jesus trained and
commissioned right now you watch this now Jesus was fixing to
leave Right? He was fixing to leave what was
going to be left on this world for 50 days. The only mediator
between God and man for 50 days was these 11 men. There weren't
no Bible. There weren't no Holy Ghost.
There were just 11 men. And Jesus prayed for these 11
men. Look folks, if the devil could
have destroyed these 11 men, you'd be on the way to hell's
monkey. We'd never know nothing about God. Right? And these men were the ones that
Jesus had called and trained and prepared to pick this thing
up after he left. After he said in Acts chapter
1, I believe in verse 8, he said, when the Holy Ghost has come,
he'll give you power. God trained them and told them
these things. But they had no power. They had nothing between
the resurrection, or you might say 10 days after that. For 40
days, not even nothing. No teaching, no Bible, no Holy
Ghost, no nothing. And Jesus asked God to take care
of these 11 men until the Holy Ghost come. Now you see that. You see, the devil wouldn't give
anything in the world to have got these 11 men. If he could have got these 11
men, I don't know what would have happened. I know several
things I could say that might could have happened, but I don't
know for sure. But notice the prayer here in this garden is
for these 11 men. Now there's application meaning
you can make that to us, but the context within itself is
speaking of these 11 men. And Jesus said here, verse in
verse 2 as thou has given them power over all flesh that he
should give eternal life as to many as thou has given him now
watch this now and This is life eternal that they may know thee
the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent now Folks
let me show you something here Let me just show you this morning.
We can settle this thing of life eternal or save forever this
morning right here. If there's any doubt about it
in your mind or you've ever wondered, let me show it to you right now
where you can be as clear on it as you want to be. The definition
of life eternal is found right here. And look what it says.
And this is life eternal. That they might know thee. Alright? the only true God and Jesus Christ
whom thou hast sent. Then life eternal is one thing
and it's to know Jesus Christ the true God. Right? That's what life eternal is.
You know the reason many folks don't know they're eternally
saved? Huh? They don't know the true God
because He's the truth and He tells the truth. They know the
false God that's told them a lie. Let me show you something. Verse
of, let's see, 1st John. 1st John, go back there just
for a minute. 1st John, 1st John chapter 5. Okay, 1st John is in the near
the back of your Bible. With this fan I'm having a time
finding it but I'm going to get it anyway. Alright 1 John chapter
5 and look at verse 20. Now folks you'll notice that
the Bible here when it speaks about this thing about eternal
life it doesn't say, it doesn't give any room for doubt, it doesn't
give any room for guess, it doesn't give any room for wondering,
it says no no no. Right? And look what it says,
and we know, 1 John 5, 20, and we know that we are of God, we
know that, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. That's verse
19. Now look at verse 20. And we
know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding
that we may know Him, watch this, that is true, and we are in Him,
that is true, even His Son, Jesus Christ, definition now, definition,
This is the true God and eternal life. What is the true God and
eternal life? Jesus Christ. There it is. The
Bible definitely defines Jesus Christ as eternal life and the
Bible says knowing Jesus Christ is eternal life. The Bible also
says in Revelations that The testimony of Jesus Christ is
the spirit of prophecy. If a man has the testimony of
Jesus Christ in him, he has a spirit in him that tells him he's saved
now, and that tells him he's saved a million years from now.
And the reason folks go off wondering and hoping and doubting and thinking
they're going to lose it, because the true God, they don't know
him. I believe a man can be ignorant to a certain point. But I don't
believe a man can be ignorant when it comes to knowing what
God's done for him. And I've said this over and over
again and I'll say it again. The greatest majority of these
people that tell you you're not eternally saved, they're not
eternally saved because they've never been saved and they know
it. That's what the Bible says folks. I didn't say that's what
the Bible says. Read it. It's in your Bible too. The Bible
definitely defines life eternal as knowing Jesus Christ as the
only true God. Notice, there's a true God, so
that means there must be a false one too, aren't there? Okay?
Verse 4. I have glorified thee on the
earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. Now
you'll notice something here, Jesus said I've glorified thee
on the earth and I've finished the work thou gavest me to do.
Now on the cross when Jesus looked up to God and he said it's finished.
What was he talking about there? He was talking about the atonement
wasn't he? The payment for sin. When he
said it's finished, he died. That means man's redemption was
complete right? Our redemption was complete.
When Jesus said it's finished folks, that means it was done.
But he said here it's finished. What is he talking about here?
Is he talking about that here? Was it complete here? No. But
he says I finished the work which thou gavest me to do. What was
the work that God gave him to do? Alright, here he's talking
about he had been born in the world as a man. He had kept all
the Old Testament. He kept the law and lived God's
righteousness hadn't he? If he hadn't of what would have
happened when he died? It would have been a grave day,
wouldn't it? So, he says, I've finished
the work which thou gavest me to do. Alright, look at verse
5. And now, O Father, glorify thou
me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with thee
before the world was." Alright, now here's something that proves
something that John 1.1 says. The Bible said in John 1.1, in
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. Now John 1.1 is before Genesis
1.1. The Bible says in Genesis 1.1,
in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. John
1.1 is before that. And this is before Genesis 1.1. He says, with the glory I had
with thee before the world was. Before God created this world.
And I don't know how old this world is. They say it's millions
of years old. I wouldn't say. I don't know.
But we know it's been around quite a while. But, Jesus said
before the world was, me and you had glory together and you
glorify it now like it was then. And I'll show you something else
in that verse too. Let me see. Verse 24. Look at verse 24. Same chapter. John 17, 24. Father, I will that
they also whom Thou hast given me be with me where I am that
they may behold my glory which thou hast given me for thou hast
loveth me before the foundation of the world." Now what that
verse says here folks is simply this, in eternity God's going
to let me and you see this thing before it was in Genesis 1. We're going to see the universe
and the glory of God as it was before God created this world.
Look what it says. Let me read it once again, maybe
it'll help you understand it. Father, I will that they, they who, the
eleven, and all those that come after the eleven, also whom thou
hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my
glory, which thou hast given me, for thou lovest me before
the foundation of the world. You see the reference there is
the glory of God that those the disciples might see that as it
was before God created this world Look at verse 6 I have manifest
or may know what that means I have manifest thy name unto the men
the 11 which thou gavest me out of the world and Thine they were,
and thou givest them me, and they kept my word. Now your Schofield
Bible's got a good note. If you've got an old Schofield
Bible, look at the note on it. Schofield says that Jesus Christ
is God's love gift to the world, and he was. And he says that
believers, folks that are saved, are God's love gift back to Jesus
Christ. That's a good note on that. All right, so the Bible says,
I've made manifest, or I've made known, my name unto the men which
thou gavest me out of the world. Notice, notice folks, the Bible
says that these men that God gave to Jesus came out of the
world, didn't it? Jesus came in the world, okay? Here's the world populated full
of people. Okay? And Jesus came in the middle
of this thing for what? To get you out of it, didn't
he? Because what happens if you stay
in it? The whole world's God's wrath
is aimed at the whole world, right? So Jesus knew that and
he came down to get you out of it. And he says here that he
came to get them out of the world. Now look at verse 7. I'm going
to close here in just a minute now. Now they have known that
all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. The Bible
says that these that he got out of the world knew that all things
that Jesus had, all things that Jesus said came from God. Now look at verse 8 and I'm going
to show you what makes the difference. Verse 8. For I have given unto
them the great education they need to understand all the doctrines. That's what the colleges say,
isn't it? What does the Bible say? You see folks, let me show
you something here. I'm going to close on this verse
this morning. Jesus came into the world And
he said, Father, you took them out of the world. And here's
the only thing I give them. I gave them... Huh? Folks, that's what gets you out
of the world. Jesus said, I gave them your words. You know what
the church needs to give the world this morning? Not entertainment. Not education. The words of God. That'll do it. That'll do it.
Anything short of that won't do it. Look what Jesus said. For I have given unto them the
words which thou gavest me. And they have received them and
have known surely. They've known what surely? How
did they know surely? By the words. You know the reason
many folks don't know none of this is they're confused. They
haven't had the words. They've been so entertained and
so pitied and fall on so short they haven't
had the words of God. That's what's the matter. That's
the reason we live in an ignorant world. They don't know the words
of God. Jesus said, I came and I give
them the words that you gave me. Folks, let me tell you something.
This morning, you know what we owe the world? We owe them the
words of God. That's all we owe them. That's
all. We don't owe them a big fat belly. We don't owe them a table full
of groceries. We owe them the word of God. The modern thing
today of Christianity is help your neighbor, feed him, clothe
him. I'm not against that. That's not what we need so. I'd
rather see him go to heaven naked than to go to hell dressed like
a rich man. Right? The world don't need a
full table and a basket of groceries and a bundle of clothes under
the table from the church. The world this morning needs
the words of God. That's what we need to give them.
And that's all we need to give them. That'll do it. Now you see, it don't come out
that way. It just don't work that way today
though, does it? You know. I mean, that's just not the way
the world looks at Christianity. Well, you're a Christian. You
know, you're critical. You're negative. You don't have
any love. You know, you don't try to help
people. You know how Jesus helped these men? You know how he got
them out of this world? That God's wrath was aimed at?
He gave them the words, right? Isn't that what it says? For I have given unto them the
words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and
have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have
believed that thou didst send me. They believe that you sent me,
why they believe it, because Gave them your words And let me get this other verse
here because it goes right in with that I don't want to close
it off here verse 9 I pray for them. Them who? The eleven. Jesus
said, I pray for them. Because soon, I'm fixing to leave. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna leave.
And in three days, I'll resurrect. For ten days. And then there'll
be a forty day interval that these eleven men will be here,
God. They'll be here with nothing. And I'm praying for them. Look,
he said, for them. The eleven. Now watch this. I
pray not for them. No, I pray for them. I pray not
for the world. So I say we ought to pray for
world peace. Where is that in the Bible? Who was this joker that went
down to Miami the other week and said that, I forget who he
was, and said he'd like to call all the churches together to
pray for world peace? Nothing about world peace. Nothing
about let us live together as brothers and sisters. Huh? I
pray not for the world. But I'm praying for them. Right? Folks, you know something? For
a person to say, let's ask God for world peace, you know, that's
almost a prayer of the anti-Christ. You know what kind of prayer
God would like to hear this morning? God, I pray you'll save so and so.
God, I pray you will glorify your son in me. God, I pray you
will come soon. That's the kind of prayer God
likes to hear. God's not interested in no prayer that says, I pray
God you will bring peace on the world. I'll tell you what's going
to happen in this world. There's not, and I won't get
this far tomorrow, I'll be discussing this some more later on. But
there won't be no peace until there's righteousness And there
won't be no righteousness until there's truth. And the truth
is the one thing the world won't have. So the other way from that
thing is, bigger guns, bigger ships, bigger wars are in the
future. So I said the world's getting
better? You better look around folks, you don't know this. The
world's getting worse and it's going to get worse. It reaches
a climax during tribulation. And then Jesus comes back and
then it does get better. let me peace in because the Prince
of Peace will be here and he'll rule it. But as long as man rules
it, let me tell you something, it's going to get worse and worse
and worse because it's on the straight decline with man. A
man told us last week, he said, your trouble is you don't find
the good in the world. I said, I know the good in the
world. Everybody that's saved has some good in them because
they've got Jesus in them. Everybody else is no good and
have no good in them and they'll do no good. All right, I'm gonna close it
off there this morning because time's just about up. But folks,
we'll pick it up next week in verse 10. Verse 10. You read
the rest of that chapter. Pick it up in verse 10. All right,
now, we're gonna take about a 10-minute break. All you kids get settled
down, get straightened. I know it's hot in here. You
can tell, see? But listen, it's hot, it's uncomfortable,
but it'll be all right. It'll be alright. We're here
for a reason. It ain't hard as hell. We ain't going there always.
Okay? Now, let me just stop right there
while I got a few minutes. Within the next Sunday or two,
we hope to be out of here. We hope to be in the building
by the fire station. I talked to the man last week,
and as far as I know now, either two weeks from today or the following
Sunday, we'll be over there. We'll have enough room. We've
got a big building over there that's probably can seat two or three
hundred people. And that'll be a lot better.
We'll be able to put us a sign and I think then we'll go out
there and we'll have something, you know, well look, we'll be
at another place, you know, you got somewhere to tell them, you
know. So I think that's gonna make a great deal. We're glad
to have all of you. You've been real attentive and we got another
hour and a half to go yet, but it's better yet, so hang in there. It'll be all right, okay. Alright,
let's pray and we'll be dismissed. Now, if you need anything, just
ask somebody. The bathroom's here, and water,
and everything. So if you need anything, just ask somebody, okay? Father,
this morning, we thank you for Jesus. Lord, we thank you for
all your blessings of this day. Now, God, I ask you to go with
us, guide us, and direct us, and lead us in the paths of righteousness.
God, I pray you'll bless everything this morning to your glory. God,
I pray you'll save those that are unsaved, strengthen those
that need strengthening. According to your word. Thank
you once again for the blessing this day go with us now in Jesus
name. I pray amen Huh
