He's in charge. He's in control. Got several places marked. Wondering what the Lord would have us to preach on. And this is where I want to read this. Brother Leland had preached a message during revival about the cup that Christ had to drink. Awesome message. Amen. I want to say this, because Christ, because Jesus drank the cup, now there's a cup we can drink. This morning, I don't know your spiritual state. I don't know if you know the Lord. I don't know if you're saved this morning. Only you and God know that. I can tell you this. I don't believe you're saved and don't know it. If you're struggling with it, friend, you need to really consider what I'm about to read to you this morning. It's impossible, I believe, it's impossible for someone as big as God to move inside an individual. and them not absolutely know it. What I do know is if I'm in the dark and somebody turns on the light, I can see it, I know it. Jesus Christ is the light. We were in darkness How can the light move in your life and you not know it? So I wanna read this to you this morning and I'm gonna let them sing. Because I really believe God's wanting to deal with some hearts and maybe somebody's here lost. Maybe a young person is lost. Maybe a middle-aged, but maybe an older person. Maybe a teenager or a young adult, I don't know. I don't know who, amen, but this is what's on my heart this morning. I'm going to start reading in chapter 26 of Matthew. I'm just going to read a few verses here and then I'm going to read something else. And I'm going to let them sing again. I'm going to let the Holy Ghost deal with your heart. So friend, if you're here and you're struggling, I want you to get that settled. I don't want anybody to walk through life confused, wondering if they're really saved. Hey man, I just don't I just don't believe you can be saved and not know it when the Holy Ghost of God moves into your heart. How can we not know that? There's such a change that comes on an individual. Now you can be saved and you can be backslid, but you still know you're saved. I believe that. I've witnessed that too many times in people's lives. Then cometh Jesus. Matthew chapter 26, we'll start reading in verse 36. With them unto the place called Gethsemane. And saith unto the disciples, sit ye here while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, my soul is exceeding sorrowful even unto death. Tarry ye here and watch with me. Verse 39, and he went a little further, fell on his face, and there's so many messages in this, and prayed, saying, O my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, couldst thou not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that ye enter not into temptation. The Spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, Thy will be done. Saint John chapter 18 verse 11, Jesus says to Peter, Put up thy sword into thy sheath. The cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? Amen. This cup that Jesus had to drink was the shame. My shame and your shame and my sin and your sin. He was sinless. He never sinned. Not one time. Amen. Not one time could He have sinned because He was the Son of God. That cup of shame and that cup of guilt, that cup, amen, that redeemed us back, that would redeem us back to Him. And because He drank that cup, Now there's a cup that you and I have to drink, that we can drink. Book of Psalms 116, I believe. I'm going to start reading in Psalms number 116 after this. Amen, I won't be long. I'm going to get them to sing again. I want you to listen to this, child of God. I want you to listen to this lost person. I want you to listen to this person that may be struggling, trying to figure out. Maybe the devil's having a heyday in your mind. Maybe he's trying to convince you you're lost. Or maybe He's trying to convince you you're saved so that He can take you off into hell. But I want to read this to you. Psalms 116, the Bible says, I love the Lord because He hath heard my voice and my supplication, because He hath inclined His ear unto me. Therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live. Can I tell you this morning His ear has gone out. His ear's listening this morning. Somebody said, preacher, you don't understand. I've been so wicked. I've heard this, Brother Eric. I've been so wicked, God can't save me. I've heard of people thinking they've been so good, they didn't need salvation. The Bible said that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. There was a rich young ruler that came. And he said, what must I do to be saved? And Jesus basically said, hey, follow the commandments of God. Love thy brethren, love thy neighbor as thyself. You know, help, do good. I'm just paraphrasing. He said, I've kept this from my youth up. I'm a good person. Jesus said, go sell all you got and give to the poor. He went away sorrowful because he had many riches. Even those that are good, the Bible says, the Bible said over in 1 John, Amen. That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. He said, if a man say that he hath not sinned, he maketh God a liar. If a man say he hath no sin, he is a liar. His word is not in him. He said, but if we will confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. Somebody said, well, I'm just too wicked. I've lived too evil. The Bible said that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. That cup he drank, your wickedness, your evilness was in it. And Paul said, Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. So friend, if he can save the chiefest of sinners, the one that probably deserved it the least was Paul. And he can save you. He can save you. Doesn't matter how wicked you've been. You just got to be willing to do this, what I'm fixing to read here. Go with me down to... Let's just read on. He said in verse 3, The sorrows of death come past me, and the pains of hell get hold upon me. I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the Lord. Amen. You've got to get to that place. You've got to get to that place where you're willing to call on the name of the Lord. Because of that cup he drank. Amen. There's a cup you're going to have to drink. Amen. I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Verse 5. Gracious is the Lord and righteous. Yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserveth the simple. I was brought low and He helped me. Oh, I've been there. I've been low. Return unto thy rest, O my soul. For the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living. I believe, therefore have I spoken. I was greatly afflicted. I said in my haste, all men are liars. What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits towards me? There's benefits, child of God. There's things that will come your way on a daily basis when you belong to God. You will have a friend that will never leave you. There's benefits in your life as a child of God. You will have a Savior that will always walk with you. You will have a God that will watch over you. There's benefits, child of God. You will have a church that will love you and welcome you. You will have a place to come and worship where the Spirit of God dwells. You will not be in this life alone. You will not feel by yourself. You will not feel isolated and secluded. You will feel love. You will feel joy. You will feel happiness. You will feel secure in your walk. Amen if you'll come to Him. There's benefits. There's benefits. But to get those benefits, that next verse, verse number 13, the cup of salvation because he drank his cup. Woo! We now can drink the cup of salvation. Amen. We were isolated. We had no access to God. We were sinners. We were bound for hell. We had no way. We couldn't live good enough to make it to heaven. But thanks be unto God that Jesus Christ drank the cup. Now you can drink another cup, the cup of salvation. Amen. He drank the cup of sin. He drank the cup of shame. You hear what I'm telling you? And now, He's given us the cup of salvation. Amen. Where we can go to heaven. Where we can know that we're saved. Where we can know that, hey, even when we mess up, God's a loving God, a merciful God, a forgiving God. Salvation. Amen. When you look that up, it means deliverance. It means welfare. God's concerned about your welfare. It means prosperity. Are you hearing me? These are just some of the benefits that He will bestow upon you, child of God, if you'll drink that cup. Not only that, it means victory. Are you hearing me? You can have victory in your life. Amen. Salvation by God. Amen. Salvation by God, something saved. I'm glad I'm something he saved. Why? Not because of what I'd done, but because he drank the cup. Brother Paul, we have access to the cup of salvation. He said, but I'll have to take it. I'll have to drink it. You'll have to drink it. Verse 13, I will take the cup of salvation and listen and call upon the Lord, upon the name of the Lord. There was a whole lot I was gonna say this morning, but God took over. I don't know your heart this morning. I don't know your state of mind. Everybody looks good. But there ain't no way that God sent this service here this morning. And there ain't somebody here struggling, somebody here lost. Amen. Somebody needed to be saved. Somebody needed to be reassured this morning. Somebody maybe, as that song says, go back to Calvary, remind me what it was and remind me what it cost. Just to save one sinner, Tyler, Jesus had to drink the cup. The cup of heartache. He drank the cup of loneliness. Are you hearing me? So that you wouldn't have to. But he's giving you another cup. And I, and that is the cup of salvation. We all gotta come the same way. We've got to take that cup, that cup of salvation. And we can now because He took that other cup on Calvary. He took the cup that nailed Him to the tree. He took the cup as they beat Him across His back. He drank the cup of the crowd of thorns. He drank the cup as they mocked Him. He drank the cup as they spit in His face. He drank the cup as they bowed to me before Him. He drank the cup as them big Roman soldiers came by and smote Him with the palms of their hands across the face. He drank the cup for you and I so that we could drink the cup of salvation and be saved. This morning I want to sing again This altar is open. If you're saved, child of God, maybe you just need to come and pray for that one that's struggling. Well, I don't know who it is, but that's all right, God does. And if God's moving on your heart to come to this altar, there's a reason. It may not be for you. It probably is, but it may not be. It may be for that individual that says, well, if that person will go, I'll go. How many times have I heard testimonies of that over the years? People sitting in a church somewhere and feel like the Holy Ghost is dealing with them and they say, I just don't know, I don't know, I don't know. But then they say, well, if that person will go, I'll go. And then that person goes. And they've went down and then they got saved. Well, I've heard testimonies of that. Child of God, I would be very sensitive this morning if I was you. But if you're here this morning when they're singing, if you're struggling this morning, I hope you get it settled. Hope you find that peace. Amen. That passes all understanding. I hope the war is over today in your mind. I hope you get the victory. I mean that. Hope you can get a hold of that cup of salvation this morning. Because he's offering it to you. You don't have to struggle with it. You don't have to walk through life not wondering, am I saved, am I not? You don't have to. You can know that no matter what comes your way, you're saved. You can know that. This morning they're gonna sing, I want us all to stand to our feet.
