You're with me back to Revelation 19. Revelation 19, after word got out about my dad's stroke last week, I received some texts and some emails and some phone calls from brethren and loved ones with words of sympathy and comfort. Many of them included a verse of scripture with it, like we do quite often. Many of them included a verse of scripture, and this is one of them. A dear sister, such a dear sister, she sent me a text with these two verses at the end of it. And when I read them, I was immediately comforted and I was blessed and I knew right then and there that this would be my text the next time I preached. Sometimes I struggle, I've told you before, sometimes I'm searching and searching and begging, but this was not one of those times. I knew, and it held true. As soon as I read that, I thought, I'm preaching that. And I pray the Lord will make this to be a blessing to you like he has to me. She sent Revelation 19, verses five and six. And a voice came out of the throne saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia, for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Be still my soul. Man, that blesses my heart. That blesses me just as much now as it did then. That blesses my soul. The title of this message is The Lord God Omnipotent Reigneth. Boy, you talk about good news. Oh, how quickly life on this earth can become so frail. It seems so good and strong and, you know, everything's going great. And then all of a sudden it becomes so fragile and so uncertain, just thrown upside down. It happens that fast, doesn't it? But how comforting is it to know that through it all, whatever it may be, the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. The Lord our God reigns over it all. The Lord our God is reigning and ruling and ordering and controlling and purposing it all. Nothing gives me greater comfort than knowing that. Everything, every bit of it, whatever it is. That causes me to want to praise my God. Doesn't that comfort our hearts and make us want to praise the Lord? Praise the Lord. In verse 6, that word Alleluia is Hallelujah, which means Praise ye the Lord. That's what Hallelujah means. Praise ye the Lord. You praise the Lord. I praise the Lord. Why? It's because the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. That's why. That's the reason why. He reigns and He rules over all. all things. I tell you all the time that Romans 828 is a light bulb moment for me every time I truly read it. I've been telling you that for 12 years. More like 11 years and nine months. And every time I get a hold of the fact that our God reigns over everything, it's such a light bulb moment to me. It's all things, everything, everything. Do you have any idea how many things I am worried about? You have any idea? It doesn't matter whether it's good things. It doesn't matter whether it's bad things. It doesn't matter whether it's hard things. It doesn't matter whether it's unknown things. It doesn't matter whether it's fearful things. Everything, everything, everything. He reigns over everything. In verse six, the word omnipotent means Almighty, that's what it means. It means all ruling. It means the ruler of all things. I love this one. It means the absolute universal sovereign. That's what it means. And just to put it in in layman's terms terms, that means he controls everything. He controls everything. Oh, how often we forget that. I'm convicted over this. I'm preaching to myself here. I'm preaching to myself right now. How often I forget this. The Lord, my God, controls everything. He controls everything. He controlled everything concerning creation, the world and all that is therein, everything. from people to circumstances to germs and bacterias and diseases, sicknesses, everything, everything. He controls everything concerning creation. He controls everything concerning salvation. That's our message, isn't it? He controls everything concerning salvation. From the fall of man. God was in control of that. Yes, he was. He was in sovereign control the whole time. From the fall of man to the redemption of man. To the eternal glorification of man. The hand of God Almighty has done it all. God Almighty. I love that. God Almighty. Almighty. Praise ye the Lord for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. He is seated in the heavens right now, doing as He pleases. He is reigning and ruling and ordering and purposing and causing everything that happens. He's the cause of it. He's the one bringing it to pass. He's doing it all as He pleases. However He pleases. He kills. And He makes alive as He pleases. He wounds. Well, I'm wounded. My body's wounded. I'm going to have to have some kind of surgery. He wounds. Why would He do that? I honestly don't know. But that's what seemeth Him good. It is the Lord. He wounds, He heals as He pleases. He's the sovereign God. And He does what He wants, with whom He wants, and nobody can stop Him or question what He's doing. You know what He's going to do with me? Whatever He wants to do with me. You know how long I'm going to live on this earth? However long He wants me to live on this earth. Do you know how healthy I will be through the end of it? However healthy He wants me to be. You know what I'm going to have? Whatever he wants me to have. He does what he wants with whom he wants. Nobody questions him. Nobody stops him. Many years ago, Brother Henry Mahan's oldest son died in Vietnam. And someone who did not believe in the Lord God omnipotent, very, very cruelly said to him, where was your God when your son died? Boy, you talk about a cruel thing to say. Where was your God? You talk about this God, you have your God, where was your God when your son died? Brother Henry said, the same place he was when his son died. seated on the throne, seated on the throne, reigning and ruling on the throne of his absolute sovereignty. He is all wise. Oh, you talk about all wise, all holy. That means all right, all just, all perfect. All good sovereignty, the Lord God omnipotent reigns. And we are glad. We are so glad. We are so glad. We don't just bow to that. We thank God for it. We praise God for it. We say, hallelujah, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. That's not just a religious term. You know, praise the Lord. I mean, God's people are crying, praise the Lord. Four. He reigns. The Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Again, he reigns in creation. He reigns in salvation. Christ died reigning. He reigned on the cross of Calvary. You talk about ordering and ruling and controlling and having His way. You want to see the way? God having His way? Look at the cross of Calvary. I will that they be with me where I am. And that's what it took. He died according to the sovereign will of God Almighty. If it be possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done. That was the will of God the Father. He died according to the prophecy of the scriptures. He died according to the promise of God to his people. He died as it was foreordained for him to. He died putting away the sin of his people forever. He died obtaining eternal redemption for his own. And then he arose. And then he ascended. And then he sat down. And now he ever lives to make intercession for his people. Hallelujah. The Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Verse five says, in a voice came out of the throne saying, praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. Everybody, praise him. Praise him for who he is. Praise Him for what He does. Praise Him for everything that He does. Turn over to Psalm 135. Psalm 135 says, praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord. Praise him, O ye servants of the Lord. You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God, praise the Lord. For the Lord is good. Sing praises unto his name, for it is pleasant. For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself and Israel for his peculiar treasure. He chose a particular people to save. He elected a people. Praise him for that. Verse five, I know that the Lord is great and that our Lord is above all gods. Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. Everything that he has done, he's done it sovereignly. Verse 7, he causeth the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth, he maketh lightnings for the rain, he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries. That's hurricanes and tornadoes. Verse eight, who smoked the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast. The Lord God omnipotent did that. Why? Because he's good. Because his mercy endureth forever. Verse nine, who sent tokens and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants, who smoked great nations and slew mighty kings, The Lord God omnipotent did that. The one who reigns did that. Verse 11, Sion, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan, and gave their land for inheritance, inheritance unto Israel his people. Thy name, O Lord, endureth forever, and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations. For the Lord will judge his people, and he will repent himself concerning his servants. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. Now this is false gods, not the Lord God omnipotent. Verse 16, they have mouths, but they speak not. Eyes have they, but they see not. They have ears, but they hear not. Neither is there any breath in their mouths. They that make them are like unto them, so is everyone that trusteth in them. Dead, dead. Verse 19 says, Bless the Lord, O house of Israel. Bless the Lord, O house of Aaron. Bless the Lord, O house of Levi. Ye that fear the Lord, bless the Lord. Blessed be the Lord. Out of Zion. Does that? I love how you keep saying that. Bless the Lord, bless the Lord, bless the Lord. And I got one more thing to say. Bless the Lord. Blessed be the Lord out of Zion, which dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. Hallelujah. For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Whatever he has pleased, that's what he's done. And everything that he has done has been good. Good. It's all good. It has been for his glory and the good of his people. Praise you the Lord. Go back to Revelation 19. Verse 6 says, I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, all of God's elect people, every soul saved by grace, Every sinner that was saved by the mercy and grace of God, chosen in Christ, redeemed in His blood, called by His Spirit, every single one of them. Verse 6, I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings saying, Hallelujah, for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. He reigns. That's what heaven is going to cry. It's gonna sound like mighty waters. He reigns. That's what God's people say right now. When things are going well, he reigns. When things are going not so well, He still reigns. Sometimes we just need a little reminder of that. No matter what, He reigns. I'm almost done here, but look with me at a few scriptures. Revelation 11. Revelation 11, verse 15. And the seventh angel sounded, and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever. He reigns. Verse 16, the four and 20 elders which sat before God on their seats fell upon their faces and worshiped God, saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art and wast and art to come, because thou hast taken to thee thy great power and has reigned. He reigns. That's why we give him thanks. He reigns. Look with me at 1 Corinthians 15. I love this. 1 Corinthians 15 verse 22. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order. Christ the firstfruits, afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh the end when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power, for he must reign till he hath put all enemies under his feet. He must reign. He does reign. He will reign. He reigned in creation, he reigned in salvation, and he reigns in every single detail of our lives. Every single detail, every providence, every provision, every step. Do you believe in your heart that the steps of a man or woman in Christ, a good man, a righteous woman, Made that way by Christ. Do you believe that the steps of that man or woman are ordered of the Lord? That's what he said. Every step. Every breath. You talk about take something for granted. A breath of air. Every function of our body. Whether I sleep tonight at home or in a hospital or in a grave, either way he reigns. Either way, no matter what, the Lord God omnipotent reigns. That is such good news for every soul who needs for him to reign over us. That is such good news for every soul that has been caused to say, I will gladly have that man reign over me. I would love to have that man reign over me. It's not my will. It doesn't matter whether I will it or not. He reigns over me either way. But it just so happens that nothing gives me greater comfort and peace than knowing that He reigns over me. I deeply desire for Him to reign over me and Him to reign over every single component of my life. I want Him to. I want Him to right now and forevermore. That is good news to me. That is glad tidings to me. Turn to Isaiah 52. I am wrapping it up, I promise. Isaiah 52. You're not supposed to promise. Isaiah 52, verse 7, it says, How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, thy God reigneth. Oh, how beautiful that is. How beautiful this message is. Verse nine, break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord hath comforted his people. He hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Salvation's of the Lord. Take comfort, he reigns. Comfort ye, comfort ye my people. Tell them I reign. And I was gonna have you turn to Psalm 146 where it says, The Lord our God reigns forever. He reigns forever. Psalm 99 verse one says, everything will tremble because the Lord reigns. Psalm 97 one says, the Lord reigneth. I think it says, let the people be glad or something like that. Psalm 96 verse nine through 10, nine and 10, the Lord reigneth. Psalm 93 verse 1, the Lord reigneth. Psalm 47 verse 8, the Lord reigneth. I love Psalm 47. It says, oh, clap your hands. You know, we don't do that here, but we're going to. We're going to. Without there being a show of anything, but absolute, oh my goodness, we're not going to be able to retain ourselves. We're going to have to clap our hands. Well done. Standing ovation for about 10,000 years. And then when 10,000 years are done, we'll cry encore, encore. Clap your hands because God reigns. The Lord our God reigns. At all times, in all circumstances, we can be comforted by the fact that the Lord our God, the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. He reigns. No matter what it is, he's in control of it, he's doing all things well, and he is bringing about good. That's what he's doing. He's bringing about good. And for that, we can be thankful and we can praise him. Because he reigns. I pray that'll be as much of a comfort to you as it was to me. That has just touched me since I read it. May the Lord be praised. All right, let's all stand together. Turn with me to hymn number 10.
