We're going to be reading in the 29th chapter of Proverbs, the 25th verse. It kind of goes along with the testimony. I don't know how long we'll preach. I'm not feeling the best. The Bible says, the fear of man bringeth a snare. But whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. Many seek the ruler's favor, but every man's judgment cometh from the Lord. An unjust man is an abomination to the just. He that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked. I'm thankful that It doesn't matter what our demeanor is, whether we have a dominant personality, or whether we're timid. There's a lot of people that put their trust in man, and they find themselves in dire streets, because when we put our trust in man, at some point, a man's gonna fail us. Then there's others, as it says here, that fears a man, and at some point, no matter what you try to do or what you try to comply with, we're living in a culture today, and it's not as bad maybe as it has been in certain countries, but it seems as if in America, we had a lot more freedoms when we was a child than we do now. And there's a lot of people that even will say, you know, as far as technology and how our phones are keeping track of us and our purchases on the internet, that it's not necessarily that it's nefarious, but it's just that in order to be able to sell us something better, they wanna know everything about us. So when they get to know everything about us, there's even those that say that when this AI, this artificial intelligence gets to where it's what's running the marketing, that it'll even take free will from man because you'll have all these suggestions being presented to you, the very things that you would be interested in. to the point that all your needs, as it were, would be met. The Bible says that, this is known also, that in the last days, perilous times shall come, for men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, ungodly, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good." And we could go on and on, but this incontinent, you know, the only time that it's more or less used today that they they're talking about adult diapers usually when people have incontinence they can't control their bowels or they can't control their bladder. So there they have products made and that's where that's not what this is talking about. It's not talking about That in the last days that there'll be, as it were, what is it? Depends. In the last days there'll be serenity and tranquility and all other matters of adult divers. But what it's talking about is this incontinence. It's the lack of self-control. There's a lot of people that have a lot more self-control. Although they might not be able to control their bladder. But listen to me now, we're on the face of time, no doubt, where things are being constantly marketed to us and being bombarded by it. And you might be able to say, well, these things don't matter. I don't care whether the government knows about me or not as long as I don't break the law. What do I got to hide? But the point being is that when this world is as Satan is, and bombarding us with this temptation and that temptation, that we better not trust in man, and we better not fear man, but we better trust in God. And people are striving to find a favor with this one or that one. And we ain't even considering to put trust in the Lord. Because if we do, we can be saved. We can be in the middle of a drought. And you might be able to carry water. But what are you going to do? When the spring dries up, you ought to be able to trust in some government program to drill you a deeper well. But as for me, I want to put my trust in God, the one way back there. It's been over 10 years now. We was going through a drought on the hillside in the middle of a drought. The pond up above it was going dry. And out from the ground, there was a spring. And I've often wondered why the Lord didn't, the cows weren't drinking out of it. It was in the woods. But for no other reason than to prove to Daryl, you can trust in man if you will. But I control the fountains of the earth. I control the rain from the sky. You can fear man, but you'd be better off if you would understand. Though we might seek a ruler's favor, but every man's judgment cometh from the Lord. You might want to spend more time being concerned about what God thinks. I didn't want man things. Whether you fear him or whether you're seeking his favor, should we not seek God's favor? Fear him and trust in him, the one that controls everything. Then, why is it that man fears? Why is it individuals fear man? Well, they fear man because a man, usually those in power, I hate those. They're better just. You say, what are you talking about, Daryl? I've been in power. I love law-abiding citizens. Well, that's true. You know, I was compliant just this past week. A police officer pulled me over. Do you know that most police officers, when they pull you over, they ask you for your license, but you don't have to give it to them, technically, unless they're placing you under arrest. Do you really want to argue I had that argument with a police officer that all he's trying to do is to administer public safety. But if I ain't breaking the law, we live in a country that people, though this is getting to be just a normative thing, and now it isn't even normal, they can look on the internet, they can run your tag. They'll know more than just what's registered, the car that's registered to you, because he did that. He not only found out that that car was registered to me, but he found out how many cars I owned and every one of them, and whether they were tagged, whether they were insured. So we live in a society where there's a lot of people that might know a lot about you, but are you concerned about what they know or what you hope they know? I'm just amazed. I'm not on Facebook, but unfortunately, I've seen enough of it and I'm just amazed what people, put on their front page. And knowing the people and what they do and who they are, the facade, it's all just a lie. You would look and you'd say, wow, that looks like the happiest person I reckon I've ever met. But you only had to talk to them about five minutes and you'll realize they don't only hate the world, they hate everything under the world. They eat everything behind the world. They even hate the backside of the moon. Oh, but to look, they look pretty. They look happy. But you can see through it. What do you think? You think they got God deceived? They can't even deceive an ignorant hillbilly that hates social media and all that it presents. because it's just a facade. You might seek favor with man, but you do way better if you'd understand. Though that man might give you a thumbs up or a like somebody. One of Rebecca's, I hope they don't listen to this, but one of Rebecca's friends back in North Carolina played a gospel song, and they posted it on some social media. Then there was some 70-year-old man, and it was a Christian song, and he was dancing like a fairy, I mean a full-blown fairy, dancing to this Christian song. I had sent it to her, like she would think, wow, that's something. And you know what? Surely she didn't give him a thumbs up. You know, it's a sad thing. Don't give him a thumbs down. Is there even, can you give a thumbs down? I don't even know. How about the point being, if you can't, we're really in an upside-down world. But all you can do is give them an attaboy. Some people need a slap in the face or a slap on the head. I did have to sing that emoji. How about the point being is that every one of us need not to worry so much. about what the world thinks. And it calls the unjust a man. It says here, and he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked. But the feeling is mutual because it says here, the unjust is an abomination to the just. And some people say, can't we just agree with the just? And the unjust can't agree. And why is that? Well, just because. Because the just love justice. I'm the, not you, I am the unjust. Love that which brings them favor. And everybody else gets the short end of the stick. But what if we lived in the community where the just loved his fellow man? and stood in the way of the wicked to declare to them the truth. And then the wicked would love them, no. But the truth and the beauty that's found when we speak the truth can shine forth to all these children that are being sold a bill of goods. That ain't nothing but a lie. That ain't nothing but self-satisfaction. I can understand that there's something greater and higher than this present world, and that we've been called something greater and higher. The Christian idea is foreign to so many people because Christians don't proclaim what it is, and they don't practice it, and they don't live it out, and they don't live as if they believe in a life to come. Let me ask you something. Would you strive? Would you strive to build you a mansion and go into debt and work two or three jobs to pay for it? If you know next year, your parents are going to die and leave you a mansion, would you do that? And look at what the world does. And I don't mean the world world, I mean the church world. We strive to gain so many different things that are just temporal. Why? Because we aren't living like we believe in a life to come. Sometimes it's just in the knowing, right? Darryl wanted me to have money in his pocket. I told somebody a while back, I believe it was our evangelist. He come over to the farm, and I said, well, we're laying rich, you cash poor. We couldn't. A lot of people look and see what we have today. Boy, they have a lot of money. No, don't have a lot of money, didn't have a lot of money. Years ago, it didn't take a lot of money to buy 100 acres. Now, it takes a lot of money. But the point being is, is that you can worry and fret about the temporal. and miss out on the eternal. And we do that when we fear man. We do that when we seek man's favor and we do not consider what God thinks of us. You know what? Somebody might say something bad about you on Facebook. You might sing a beautiful Christian song only to have some old dirty feller dance around and flutter around like some retarded butterfly at a gospel song. I don't know what he was thinking. And then to tape himself. I mean, come on. Maybe I could see you doing that in front of the bathroom mirror with the door shut. But really, put it on Facebook? You're ignorant. You're dumber than dumb. Find yourself a hole, dig a 10-foot deep, and you're dumber than the bottom of that hole. You're stupid. And what do people do? They say, somebody's going to see that this is some kind of worth. And the only word there was in it was that a gospel song was playing in the background. I seen that and I thought, why on earth, bless her heart, why on earth would anybody put anything on the internet where you could take something good and pure and holy, only to have a freaky old man make it freaky. Come on. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Right, they'll take your good and they'll make merchandise out of it. And that's why the unjust man is an abomination to the just. And he that is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked. Now, why is that? Well, that's because the unjust try to destroy any good that the just do. And that when the just are in the way, The wicked are mad because the just are in the way. Do you hear what I'm saying? There's playing words on that. We better be in the way, meaning the way to glory. But when we're in the way, we'll be in other people's way. Because see, if you don't know the direction toward heaven, well then anybody can tell you they're going there. But when it is demonstrated to us by the just, Well then now, the just are going one way, and the wicked are going another. Now, authority is being called into question. And the wicked does not like to be exposed. Right? That's why you can't deadname people. Heard a man, he was joking about Bruce Jenner, and there was such a controversy, I can't remember what his name was. But I don't even know what Bruce Jenner's new name is. But there was just such an outcry, because Bruce Jenner was dead named. I wonder if he's thrown all of those Olympic medals away, because they were given to Bruce Jenner. But I reckon it's probably okay for him, as a whatever, to wear them around his neck. He got them as a man. I tell you what, we live in an upside-down world, don't we? And this is why the unjust are an abomination. You know, a good honest, do you remember, I can remember as a kid, he's just a good moral sinner. Now, I don't know really what that means, because Jesus Christ, when the man come to him and said, good master, he said, there is none good but the Father, right? There's two things Jesus was doing there. He was calling this man out to say, hey, God is good. But then he was also saying that there is none good but the Father, and you've called me good. Are you calling me God? I think there was that thought in that statement as well. But that man, that man was not concerned with what was good. This man wanted what he wanted, and he wanted to be bragged about. He had obeyed all the commandments since his youth. And then the Lord told him, if I'm not mistaken, the Lord said, well, sell all that you have and give it to the poor. And then now, no longer did, now he might've disagreed with Jesus there at the beginning when he said, there is none good but the Father. Because this fellow came to him and he thought he was pretty good, only for the Lord to reveal to him that look, if you think you're good, well then you need to obey the first two commandments of the 10. And that's not to have any idols, no other gods before me, no graven images, no idols made of merchandise. Possessions, give it all to Jesus. You say, Darrell, we can't have nothing. I'm telling you, you better not have nothing. If anything, it's gonna stand between you and God, because you might try to please man, you might try to buy man's favor, but at the end, the Bible tells me, but every man's judgment cometh from the Lord. He's the one that we're gonna have to deal with. It ain't a, it's a, bless their heart, there's some of them people back east, I don't understand it, but we have a lot of dealings with the Amish and a lot of them live back east, but I think if you live in Lancaster County, or if you live in any of the counties in Pennsylvania, I think you'd have to I think you'd have to get a permit to dig a hole to bury a dog in your yard. It's ridiculous. Everywhere, you've got to have a permit for everything. You even have to have a permit, I think, to put up a temporary tent to have a, you've got to have, I mean, not build a building now, but I'm talking about like having a wedding in your yard and it might rain. Well, we'll put, you've got to have a, you have to have a permit to put a tent up. Ain't that crazy? Why would anybody want to live like that? And yet they all do it. Why? Because they fear man. And then they try to please man. And instead of fearing the Lord and seeking to please God. There's a certain amount of liberty when you just don't much care about what man thinks. And you put all your emphasis and all your devotion and all your worries, all your attention, not worries, all your attention and what God thinks. Because when you do that, the rest of it's trivial. Police officer pulled us over last week. And he asked for my insurance. I was in a car that, or in a van. I went to get some drywall, and it looked like it was gonna rain, otherwise I'd have took my truck. But the van hadn't been working, and the tags on it are 2024. And I'd forgot that, and then I remembered it, and then I forgot that. But I remembered it when I looked in my rear view mirror. And there was a state trooper in behind me. And he pulled me over. Now, when you broke the law, and I broke the law, you do have, this is required, it is required for you to give him proof of insurance and whatnot and all of that. But I didn't have proof of insurance, cuz I just got it insured, cuz we hadn't been driving it. And what do you do? You get your car insured, and then you get it inspected, and all this and that. But we'd just done the first thing. But I hadn't got the card yet. So I'm looking around, and I couldn't find it. But there was an old one. He says, that's all right. That old one will do. I said, well, no, it won't, because they canceled us. And they canceled us because they no longer were doing automotive insurance. And for the life of me, I couldn't remember that it was Progressive is our new insurance. But I couldn't remember that Flo was the one that gave us our insurance. And I'm just like thinking, and I said, well, it's not that one. I said, it's down here. The insurance agent's just, and I couldn't think of the name. And I said, just hold on a second. I said, he'll come to me. And he said, well, why don't you come back and sit in the car? And so I went back there and I sit in the car. And as I sit down, because I got a little bum-fuzzled when I seen the cop, right? And he pulled me in. And then I was like, hold on. I remember on my way to town, I got the mail. And in there was my bill for adding this vehicle. I said, if you don't care, I'll go back up there and I'll get that car, I'll get that envelope, because it's my bill. And he says, you got your bill for your insurance? And I said, yeah. Well, I come back, and he says, and it just was an extra $58, right? It just said $58 was owed is what it was to add that on there. And he says, does it say anywhere that that's this vehicle? And I said, well, no, but it has a policy number. Well, I don't know why he was asking all of that, because I looked over and he'd already had it all pulled out. And so I thought, oh my goodness, what's this going to cost me? And during all of that, I gave him my license and I threw my wallet in the seat of my car. And he handed me my license back, and I reached for my wallet, because I always put it here in the front of my beds. And I said, oh, I don't have my wallet. And he said, you might have left it in your car. And I said, yeah, I might have. And I said, well, I'm going to go look. He said, well, I ain't going to leave until you find it, just in case it's here in the car. And I went there, and I got it. I come back, and I said, well, am I free to go? And he said, oh, yeah, you're free to go. Everything's all right. He didn't even write me a warning. Why? Because I don't fear man. I just do what I want to do. No. We are to respect the law that the Lord has placed over us. We are to honor it. And I tell you what, you live for the Lord. and the Lord will take care of you. He will, right? It's like old Aunt Goldie said, bless her heart, God watches after fools and babies. And she always wanted to point out that I weren't no baby. But you know, God not only watches after fools and babies, he watches after his children. God watches after fools and his children. And some of us are babies, some of us big babies, and some of us old men that don't know no better and can't remember nothing. But praise the Lord, you could fear man, and you could try to, I wonder if I got a ticket if I just tried to slip Tim a 20. I don't know how well that had went over. But you know what, he didn't even write me a warning. But you know, when we fear man, and when we seek the favor of people, sometimes that can get us in more trouble than if we just try to be upright before man, right? And be honest. And so that any interaction we have, even though that the unjust might look at us and consider us an abomination, most unjust, I mean, they have to be pretty wicked. They would rather have the Mexican cartel, wouldn't they? They would rather have a Christian living next door than the Mexican cartel. Why? Because even the unjust have their limitations. And if we live Christ-like around our fellow man, there'll be times when the unjust will seek God's favor, and the only way they know how to find him is to come to one of his children. I love each and every one of you. Let's get some songs to sing.
Seek God's Favor
We better be trusting in God and not in man. There is going to come droughts, and no man can give us rain. We can trust in man, but God controls the rain from the sky. Every man's judgement comes from the Lord. We better be seeking God's favor, the one who controls everything.
