Pleased with His Bruising
Series Jesus in the Psalms & Isaiah
The final segment of Isaiah 53 begins with an astonishing statement. The suffering of God's Son "pleased the Lord". This speaks not of fleshly delight but of God's will, purpose, and predestination. What Christ accomplished was perfect delight to the heavenly Father and Judge of the universe. The final three verses of this marvelous chapter declare the salvation which Christ consummated. What the Father purposed, the Son completed.
