Hello there, friends. I am Pastor Calvin Lindstrom with Christian Liberty Academy School System. Welcome to There's No Place Like Home. Today I want to discuss a subject that is difficult to share. And the subject came to mind as I reflected on one of the recent terror attacks in our nation. The attack was committed, or the alleged perpetrator was a member of a very conservative and reformed denomination. And we have had some stories related to former students of our educational ministries that have made the news, horrible incidents. And these things are not convenient or comfortable for us to talk about. It's more comfortable when it's more out there than when it hits so close to home. And so I wanted to just reflect on a few points related to this. First, it is a great blessing when children are raised in a Christian family and when they are provided a Christian education. That is a tremendous blessing, even though we know that not all children will come to saving faith and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. That does not take away from the blessing still of a Christian education and the blessing of a Christian family. Second, we do know that not all of our children will come to saving faith early at age. In other cases, it will be later in life. We continue to pray and it pains us because we know that in God's purposes, not all will come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot control these things other than being faithful in our duty to teach God's word, to be in prayer for our children and for others that we know. know. Third, if our children are walking in God's truth, then we must be very, very quick to give all the glory to God. It is easy for us to want to take some measure of credit, to think highly of ourselves, but that's absolutely abhorrent to the message of God's grace, God's Grace is undeserved. Now, maybe we are faithful in our duty in teaching and preaching, but when God shows his grace to our children, we must give him all the glory and praise. We cannot take any credit for that. Fourth, we must seek to give comfort and support to those who know the pain, who know the loss of having a child that is not walking in God's truth. We think, what is it that we can say? Words are not always easy to share, but we can always pray. God's word teaches us, rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. We have to do that as best we can. And fifth, may stories like this encourage us and remind us all the more to be on our knees, to be desperate before our God as we pray for our children, as we pray for others in our church. God alone knows the hearts we can commit and pray earnestly. that our children, that others we know, will come to an understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ, the glory of the gospel of grace. My friends, I am happy to share this message with you. May it be of some encouragement to you, I pray. For Christian Liberty Academy School System, I am Pastor Calvin Lindstrom. We'll see you next week, Lord willing. May God bless.
