Hey friends, this is Michael
Bohm with Youth Apologetics Training. Today we're going to continue
on with this series about yoga. Yesterday we ended up talking
about chakras. Oh, man. these seven energy centers
that supposedly line themselves up your spine starting at the
base of your spine with the red chakra and working its way all
the way to the top to the chakra that's basically at the crown
of your head. So we're going to just pick up right exactly
where we left off yesterday talking about yoga. Guys, Is this Christian? Is there any possible way that
we can make this Christian? That we can slap a Christ label
on it and say, hey, look, it's not what it means to me. All
right? I know that it has Hindu roots,
but that's not what it means to me. Guys, we're supposed to
abstain from the very appearance of doing evil. And my friends,
If you listen to my series about Hinduism, there's no doubt. I mean, this was created to reach
enlightenment, to become one with Brahman, to yoke up, as
it's, you know, yoga means yoke up, to yoke up with the divine. And friends, that's not God,
the God of the Bible. Now, it's one thing if you're
just stretching and breathing, but that's not what this is all
about. When you go to these yoga classes, you're doing all these
poses, these asansas that were come up with, they were dreamt
up in Hinduism, giving honor to these Hindu gods, giving praise
to these Hindu gods. I know it does. That's not what
it means to you. But you know what? Do you really
want to risk offending your father, the Holy God, the God of the
heavens and the earth, the God that created everything created
all life created you and then died in your place. Do you really
want to risk offending him? Just on your own feelings saying,
well, that's not what it means to me. There's a lot of other
things out there you can do to increase your health, to increase
your flexibility, to improve your body. There's a lot of things
you can do. Why this? And why risk leading
others astray? Why would you do that? And so
anyway, there's my little rabbit trail there. Let's jump right
in. Let's just pick right back up
where we left off yesterday. Oh, yeah, you know, there is
another thing too that I want to eventually want to do a series
on this as well. And that would be quantum healing. In quantum healing. Again, it's
kind of like Reiki. It's again, you're trying to
use your hands and special touching techniques. You know, kind of
like the Vulcan neck pinch only for but for good things, you
know, like you just kind of touch somebody on the side and they
get healed and You say skadoosh and half the town blows up. Anyway,
just kidding. These little touches and you're
transferring energy and different stuff like that. I want to do
a series on that eventually sometime too because quantum healing is
another one of those. Good grief. That's another one
of those that you find sometimes in Christian circles. oftentimes
in the hyper charismatic circles. But again, it has no foundation
in the Bible. It has nothing to do with God
and His Word. In fact, a lot of it is, again,
psychosomatic. Of course, when you do stuff
like this, and you start dabbling with the New Age and the occult,
Satan will throw you a bone. Every once in a while, something
will happen. Another one, some people claim that certain oils
give off certain frequencies and vibes. Oh boy. They also help your chakras and
help your system. Huh? Yeah, I don't know about
that, guys. Oh, you can, according to these
teachings, you can tune your chakras. Here's another way that
you can. I mentioned this earlier in the teaching, where certain
sounds can also help tune and align and fix your chakras when
they're out of whack. Ah, you know, I just have to
sigh because it's just so bizarre. It's such, I mean, it's such
nonsense. Base of the spine, you say LAM,
you vibrate it, you intone it, you say it, you draw it out,
you know, LAM kind of thing, you know, kind of like when you're
meditating and you say OM, same thing. Of course, all these end
with OM, right? So there's LAM, The next one,
the orange chakra that is at the reproductive area would be
Vom. Your solar plexus would be Rom.
Your heart would be Yam. Your throat would be Hum. Maybe
it's Ham. Just kidding. Forehead would
be Sham. And the crown would be Om. That's
how you tune your chakras guys. If you've got any health problems,
that's how you do it. So anyway, again, I just want to talk about
that really quick. Because again, in yoga, through these poses, you're also
trying to align your chakras, you're trying to balance them
out to where they can best help you mentally, spiritually, and
emotionally, right and physically. Also, I've mentioned many times
the kundalini, and when that kundalini serpent force rises
up through your spine, again, this is what they believe, it
passes through each of these chakras, energizing them Right? And then, of course, the Kundalini,
like what we just read at the beginning of this podcast, about
how it bursts out of your crown and reunites with the male force. And there's kind of this sexual
union thing that happens with the Kundalini serpent being more
of a female and this male presence. And as the Kundalini force backs
back down your spine, it energizes and leaves some of that life
force, that life energy in these chakras. And so the more you
do that, the more you meditate, the more you do yoga, and you
cause that kundalini spirit to rise up, the more you fix and
energize and empower those chakras. Okay, another thing about this
kundalini force, this is kind of fascinating and terrifying
all at the same time. There are those who believe that
through yoga and transcendental meditation and some other New
Age practices as well, you can, and of course, harnessing this
power of the Kundalini serpent at the base of the spine, you
can gain kind of magical, supernatural, paranormal powers called siddhis,
okay? These powers would include things
like being able to physically heal yourself, heal others around
you, clairvoyance, levitation, magic, spiritual experiences,
and power for the control of self and others. And also the
power of controlling the forces of nature. I'm not joking. People who believe or are said
to have harnessed these abilities, these siddhis, are referred to
as sadhana, and I'm probably mispronouncing that. But in Hinduism,
there are eight cities, right? So this is actually Hinduism
concept. But again, you're going to find
this throughout the New Age, you're going to find elements
of this in the New Age movement, you're going to find it here
in America, with people practicing yoga who are not part of Hinduism,
you're going to find people to believe this. Again, yoga in
the United States is so varied. And that's why I went through
and talked about the different types of yoga. There's so many
different types of yoga, that you might talk to one person,
they're going to look at you cross eyed and be like, I don't
know what you're talking about. Like that's nuts. And then others,
you're going to bring up these cities and they're going to wax
eloquent and start getting starry eyed and you know, kind of go
hippie on you and start talking all kinds of crazy stuff. And
they're going to be all into this. And so, in Hinduism, there
are eight primary cities, okay? I'm not even going to try to
pronounce them, but one of them allows you to reduce one's, sorry,
reduce one's body even to the size of an atom. That happened
to me last Tuesday. That's why I'm chuckling. Anyway,
expanding one's body to an infinitely large size. Now, again, that
happened to me last Tuesday, too. And then I did battle with
Godzilla in the middle of Denver. But anyway, I was careful not
to destroy too many buildings. Another one. Sorry, guys, I shouldn't
be that. Okay. I apologize. Some of this
stuff, it gets to me after a while. Anyway, another one becoming
infinitely heavy. Now that one comes to me naturally,
becoming almost weightless. That's only when I go on a diet,
having unrestricted access to all places. I'm in the access
control industry. I have unrestricted access to
a lot of places. See, I've got a lot of these
powers. Um, Another one, realizing whatever one desires. Well, that
sounds kind of like the, name it and claim it, law of attraction. You know, the secret. Sounds
a lot like that. Possessing absolute lordship. That's another one. The power
to subjugate all. Huh, like every knee will bow?
I think I know somebody who has that. So anyway, so in the Bhagavata
Purana, there are five cities of yoga and meditation. And they
would be again, I cannot pronounce these. So one of them is knowing
the past, present and future. Again, these are all like weird
abilities that you supposedly can attain through various forms
of yoga, tolerance of heat and cold, and other dualities um
another knowing the minds of others and so on another checking
the influence of fire sun water poison and so on another one
remaining remaining unconquered by others sorry about the cold
guys it makes my words come out funny So, there's also 10 secondary
cities, according to the Bhagavata Purana. Lord Krishna describes
these. One of them is being understood
by hunger, thirst, and other bodily appetites. Being undisturbed
by hunger, thirst, and other bodily appetites. Another one,
hearing things far away. seeing things far away, moving
the body wherever thought goes, as in astral projection. That
was one of the nonsensical things that I practiced when I was part
of the New Age slash occult slash when I was practicing witchcraft.
Nonsense. It's an abomination to God. Another
one assuming any form desired. Okay, like shape shifting. Another
one, entering the bodies of others. Yikes, sounds like demon possession.
Dying when one desires. Huh. Another one, witnessing
and participating in the pastimes of the gods. So you just kind
of like your hyper charismatic church. They kind of just chill
with God whenever they have a cup of coffee in the morning with
God and just kind of hang out with him. Another one, perfect
accomplishment of one's determination. And another one, orders or commands
being unimpeded. somewhat overlaps with some of
the others. So anyway, I want to end off today by just really
quick talking about some of the things that happen to people
when they apparently when they claim that they have awakened
this Kundalini force, this serpent at the base of the spine, and
it travels up the spine. And I've talked about this in
my Todd Bentley series, also the Word of Faith series, You
guys wonder why I keep bringing up the hyper charismatic church. Well, there's a lot of things
that happen within those walls, within those movements, your
new apostolic reformation, many of those types of churches, your
Toronto revival, your Lakeland revival, your whatever revival,
all right. When these people fall under
what they claim is the power of the Holy Spirit, some pretty
bizarre things happen. None of which are described in
the Bible. None of which are described in the Bible. Okay,
but you can see these types of things happen throughout the
occult when demonic possession, demonic influence is involved. Now, this is straight from sources
who are pro-Kundalini, right? from Hinduism. In fact, I found
this same list on Wikipedia, which you can't trust all the
time. But I found this list all over
the place in different websites, different books, promoting Kundalini
as a good thing. Okay, so this is not something
that some Christian made up along the way. This is what they say
happens when this Kundalini force overtakes you. involuntary jerks,
tremors, shaking, itching, tingling and crawling sensations, especially
in the arms and legs. huh that sounds familiar energy
rushes or feelings of electricity circulating through the body
that sounds very familiar too intense heat sweating or cold
especially as energy is experienced passing through the chakras yep
spontaneous pranayama asanas mudras and bandhas okay the pranayama
of course your your your life energy okay Asanas, weird poses,
okay so when you're doing these yoga poses and all of a sudden
you start having spontaneous different yoga poses. Mudras,
I talked about that a little tiny bit during my series on
Buddhism. They're kind of like the gang
signs. You know when you look at a lot of like Hinduism artwork,
the different Hindu gods, they always seem to be holding their
hands in a real awkward way, where you kind of feel like they're
throwing a gang sign, like they're claiming something. That would
be a mudra. And each one of those hand signs,
they mean something. And then, so, does this happen
in hyper-charismatic circles? I've seen it. I've seen it, personally. People, their bodies contorting
and doing really weird, like, poses, their hands doing weird
things. Yes, I've seen it. Visions or sounds at times associated
with a particular chakra? Huh. Diminishing or conversely
extreme sexual desires, sometimes leading to a state of constant
or whole-body orgasm. I don't think I've seen that
one yet. But emotional upheavals or surfacing or unwanted and
repressed feelings or thoughts with certain repressed emotions
becoming dominant in the conscious mind for short or long periods
of time. Absolutely. I've seen that headache,
migraine or pressure inside the skull. Yep. Increased blood pressure
and irregular heartbeat. Well, I don't know about blood
pressure, but heartbeat. Definitely. Emotional numbness. Yeah. Antisocial
tendencies. Yep. Mood swings with periods
of depression or mania. Absolutely seen that. Pains in
different areas of the body, especially back and neck. Yep. Sensitivity to light, sound,
and touch. I don't know about that yet.
Trance-like and altered states of consciousness. Absolutely.
Disrupted sleep patterns, periods of insomnia, or oversleeping.
I don't know, loss of appetite or overeating. Yeah. Bliss, feelings
of infinite love and universal connectivity, transcendent awareness. Absolutely. So yeah. All right.
So that guys, that is kind of the stuff that happens when this
kundalini spirit travels up the spine. Yes. I kind of did a little
bit of a halfway rabbit trail talking about how that, uh, can
parallel sometimes things that you see in a very wild supposedly
holy spirit driven meeting at some of these hyper charismatic
type word of faith type churches these different revival meetings
but anyway you can see the parallels there really you know if you're
just interested in knowing about yoga and kundalini and chakra
as well you can take that as it is otherwise i thought i'd
throw in as an added bonus some of those comparisons anyway i'll
stop right there i've gone a little bit too long but that's okay
