pertain to this holiday and the scriptures, why do we remember memorial? Why do we remember certain things? You know, this country was birthed by patriotic people who believed this book. They believed all of it from cover to cover and not just portions of that. So in Sunday school, I'm going to give you an abbreviated version and a little different version of a sermon and a book that I have written entitled, Our Biblical Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Oh, Brother Sharp, as one person said, I can't believe you're talking about guns in church. Why not? It's in the Bible. I mean, are we supposed to ignore these portions of the Scripture when it talks about arming oneself? May I say, since this is Memorial Day and we are remembering those who fought and died for this country, that had they not done so, you wouldn't be sitting in a church today. You wouldn't have a copy of God's Word. Go to some of the third world countries where they don't have the freedoms that we have and see how the ladies are treated. In any other country. that does not promote Christianity. See how the women are treated in any other country. Now there's a reason that our forefathers bore arms. They had the debate, should we do it or should we not? Should we take them up or should we submit and surrender to an ungodly government? I'm glad they did take and bear arms because as a result of it, not only have our ladies been protected, our children have been protected. We sent out more missionaries than all the other countries combined since our forefathers did so. You say, oh, well, that's kind of Old Testament preaching, one person said to me. I said, no, that's not true. That's not true. As a matter of fact, I'm going to show you what Jesus had to say about it this morning. Would that be okay? Alright? How many of you never dreamed that Jesus addressed the subject of bearing arms? How many of you have never heard that Jesus talked about it? You've never heard that Jesus talked about it? Alright, he did mention it. As a matter of fact, he mentioned it on three different occasions. As a matter of fact, to emphasize the point, it was the last message he preached before he was apprehended. And he gathered the disciples around a table called the Last Supper. And he addresses it there but he addresses it on a couple of other occasions as well. Before that and once right after that in the Garden of Gethsemane. But let's take a look here in Luke chapter 22 and see what the Lord Jesus had to say about this particular subject. Luke chapter 22 verse number 35. And he said unto them. This is at the last supper at the supper table. This is a daddy who would call his children in his family around the supper table and give them personal instruction. Maybe something daddy is not talking about in public, but he gets his daughters around the table and he gets his sons around the table and he gives them some very intimate advice, very personal advice. This is not for everybody else in the neighborhood, but it's for the family. And so he gathers the family around the table and he says in verse 35, when I sent you without purse and script, and shoes lacked you anything. And they said nothing. Then said He unto them, but now." Now I want you to circle that little conjunction word, but. You that have heard me teach on that word know what comes after it is exactly opposite of what preceded it. It's a conjunction word. Conjunction, conjunction, what's your function? Hooking things up. What's it hook up? Opposites. If you can understand the verse on one side of that conjunction word, the verse on the other side is 180 degrees. For example, the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God's eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. It hooks two opposites. Before this, he said, did you lack anything when I was with you? Anything, shoes, money, any need? They said, no, Lord, you met every need that we had while your physical presence was with us. Now, notice this verse, 36, but now. What's he telling them around the supper table? My physical presence isn't going to be with you any longer. While I was with you, they couldn't do anything to you. But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it. You know what that means? That means your money is your money. Your money does not belong to the government. The problem with socialism is sooner or later you run out of other people's money. You know, show me when you can do something without government sponsorship. Then I will listen to you. But don't come up with your harebrained ideas about taking money from everybody else to help one particular segment of society. Your money is your money. Anybody who comes to you and says, oh, it's only money, they're talking about yours, not theirs. He didn't have the purse, let him take it. Likewise, his script. Whether this is scripture, referring to the Bible, or a leather case that you put valuable documents in, makes no difference to me. Protect the truth, the Word of God. You don't give that over to somebody else. Teaching your children is your responsibility. It's not the village's. They're your children. They don't belong to society. Society didn't bring them into the world. You did. And he that hath no sword, let himself his garment and buy one. Jesus said to the disciples around the table, since my physical presence is going to be removed from you very shortly, within 24 hours, it's so important that you arm yourself. A sword was the most advanced weaponry of the day. It is so important that you arm yourself if you have to sell the clothes off your back. If you don't have one and you don't have anybody, sell something and get one. You all see what he said right there? How many of you see what Jesus said? Would you at least acknowledge? Shake your head. Okay. He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. So Jesus did address the subject. Verse 38. They said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. Some would argue that sword is the Word of God. That's why I put this verse in my introduction, two swords. By the way, the first one is not the Word of God. It is referring to a physical sword. But just in case you think you won that argument, here are two swords. And He said unto them, it is enough. Now, I don't think each and every one All of us need to have a thousand weapon arsenal in our home. Some people would think that's eccentric. Others would think, eh, that's a pretty good start to a gun collection, where I come from. But if everybody armed themselves and refused to give up that arm, that would be enough. It's enough. Do you know just the deer hunters in Ohio, or Kentucky, if they refused to give up their firearms, in either state, just the number of people who deer hunt would constitute the third or fourth largest army in the world. One of the reasons the Japanese did not invade us, and they had plans to do so, and I have the documents of those plans, during World War II was because they feared the number of hunters in America that would not give up their arms. And by the way, the Second Amendment is not there so that you have the right to hunt. It's there so that you have the right to defend yourself against anyone, including your own government, should they choose to take that amendment away. Has anyone ever noticed that the word amendment begins with the word amen? It's there for a reason. It's to protect the first. If you don't have the second, you will not have the first. So anyway, here's one occasion that Jesus addressed it. But now, I'm going to be leaving you. So important, sell your garment and buy one. Memorial Day now. Why did our forefathers keep and bear arms? To give us freedom. Where did it come from? It came from the Word of God. We've started in the New Testament but I'm going to retrace this thing through the scriptures. I want to show you another place that Jesus did talk about it and go to Luke chapter 11. We do have the constitutional right to keep and bear arms but I have a superior document and it's called the Word of God. The constitution can be subverted, it can be perverted, it can be altered. The Word of God cannot. Now, they do, and they make other copies of it, but I'm talking about your King James Bible. In Luke chapter 11 and verse number 21, Jesus said these words, When a strong man... What's the next word? When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace. This is the best reason to keep and bear arms is so that there is peace. The manner is, the motive is peace. God has given me something called a home. I want to protect that. I don't want somebody taking what God has given me. So the motive is to protect. Brother Sharp, do you have firearms? Yes. Does your wife? Yes. Did all of your children? Yes. Did you teach your children? Yes. Girls are better shots than boys when you first teach them. Boys are too anxious. Girls pay attention, listen. Boys want to see where the bullet hits before they pull the trigger. Girls are methodical. They listen. And initially, girls make much better shots than boys. And we taught our children. You know, the Clinton administration, the Obama administration, if they were so concerned about children and firearms, why didn't they teach children in schools how to use them? Instead, they demonized them. Instead of teaching them how to use them, once you pull the trigger, you can't call the bullet back. So safety needs to be taught with it. But here's the reason. You say, Brother Sharpe, I mean, do you have them in your home? Sure. If somebody breaks in, I may quote what the Amish fellow said when somebody broke into his home. The Amish guy got out of bed and peered down from the second floor down the stairwell with his double-barreled shotgun pointed at the burglar. And the Amish man said, I mean thee no harm, but thou art standing where I'm about to shoot. All of my children can shoot, and they're very good shots. One of my sons would qualify expert on just about any weapon at all. My wife is not that good of a shot. Now she's armed, and you break in, you know, she's going to let the lead fly your direction. If it were me or one of the kids one shot, you'd be out of your misery, should you try us any harm. With my wife, I don't know. She could be aiming at your chest and liable to hit you in the kneecap or the ankle. It would just be slow and painful. Jesus also addressed it in Matthew 26. Yes, he said it was so important that you sell your garment and buy one. Yes, he said it was so important that you protect your home, that you have a little sanctuary. Evil people could care less about the law. The very fact that they're breaking into your home means that they are not going to obey the law. So go ahead and make another law. that they can't use a gun to break in your home. You think they're going to obey that one? I mean, duh. This is a no-brainer. Listen to me. Ask any criminal. Ask any criminal. Do you want your next victim armed or unarmed? This is a no-brainer. Now, we find here in Matthew 26, Jesus addressed it again. We are in the garden just after the Last Supper. We are now in the Garden of Gethsemane. The guards have come out the lion's gate with their swords and staves and they're going to arrest Jesus that night. Jesus could have called 10,000 angels but it was God's will for him to die for you and me. Now Peter is there and Peter was a good old Missouri redneck philosopher. How do you know? An area of thought came into his mind that a word did not come out of his mouth. And Peter draws his sword, and he's going to take them all on. Now, I have to admire his courage. You're not going to take my Savior. He didn't do anything wrong. Peter draws his sword, and I mean, he's aiming, he's going to cut one of them's head off. He swings with that sword. Malchus, he ducks, and Peter gets his ear. Now, I hear the liberals misquote this passage all the time. They'll say, Jesus said, they that take up the sword shall perish by the sword. And they misquote it by one little bitty word. But I think little words are important in the Bible. And I don't think you should take one passage of Scripture and battle another passage of Scripture with it. Because God's not the author of confusion. And I've already shown you two passages where Jesus said, Sell your garment and buy one. And when you have one, be sure you protect your home so that it is in peace. And now he's going to address this subject in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Peter actually draws his sword. Is this the proper time to use it? Let's see. Matthew, chapter 26 and verse number 52. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again. What's the next word after again? That's the individual right to keep and bear arms. Notice he didn't say, put up the government sword. Thy sword. Because he just told him a couple hours earlier, buy one. Put up again thy sword into his place. Notice he did not tell Peter, surrender the sword. He didn't tell Peter, register the sword. He did not tell Peter, lock the sword up so you can't get it when you need it. Brother Sharp, you believe in firearm safety? Yes. When our kids were little, we locked them in the safe and kept the guns out in the open. Why did you say that? That's called a Pharisee detector statement. I make those statements every now and then to see who the Pharisees are in the crowd. And now I've got you. I have your number. So the best thing to do is to smile so the rest of the folks don't know who you are. And maybe you'll enjoy your lunch. Put up again thy sword unto his plates. Now what place is he talking about? I'm going to show you in another Gospel. This place was right on Peter's side. As a matter of fact, I'm going to take you there. Just keep your finger here in Matthew 26. Go to John 18. Now he healed Malthus' ear. He did not say to Peter, Oh, shame on you. You're a Christian. You should turn the other cheek. You should obey those who have the rule over you. Not ungodly authority you don't. He didn't misquote scripture here. He didn't reprimand him. Put up again thy sword, it's still yours, unto its place. Where? John 18 verse 11. Then said Jesus unto Peter, put up again thy sword into the sheaf." Right on your side. Right to keep and bear arms. Are you all with me here? Holster. Now, he finishes in verse 11 in John 18 by saying, "...the cup which my Father hath given me shall not I drink it." Let me explain that as you're turning back to Matthew chapter 26. He's saying, Peter, look, I have to die. This is my time. I have to. You don't have to, Peter. That's why I just told you a couple hours earlier at the supper table, I'm going to be leaving you. My physical presence. Keep your sword on your side. Defend yourself. Defend your family. Don't give it up. Put it on your side. Now back in Matthew 26, verse 52, Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword unto his place, For all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." Now that second phrase in verse 52, this is the one the liberals misquote always. They quote it like this. They say, for all they that take up the sword shall perish with the sword. The word up is not in there. As a matter of fact, the second sentence in verse 52 is not even being addressed to Peter. How do you know that? Because it's plural. They. Get the scene now. Everybody look at me. Jesus. Left the upper room. Mount of Olives. Garden of Gethsemane. That's where He's at. Praying. Sweating. Wearing great drops of blood. Here they come out of the Lion's Gate. Judas is betraying Him. Thirty pieces of silver. They've got their swords, their armor. They're clamoring up the street to get Christ. Peter sees what's about to happen. They come in. They identify him. Judas gives him the betrayal kiss. They're arresting him. Peter draws his sword and starts to take them all along, cuts off Malchus's ear. Jesus puts the ear back on his head, turns to Peter and says, put up your sword until you see it. This isn't the time. I have to die for you. Then he addresses the crowd that came to get him. That's the second half of this verse. All they..." He's not talking to Peter. He's talking to more than one person here. "...all they that take the sword..." Now he's referring to himself as the sword of the Spirit. The Word of God. And they're taking Him to crucify Him. "...all they that take Me, that take the sword, shall perish with the sword." Right Revelation. Chapter 19 right there. All of those who take Him away do not receive Him. They will perish by Him in Armageddon when He speaks with the Word of God which is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. Does everyone understand the prophecy? Do you see how it fits like this and one does not contradict the other? When someone comes along and perverts these scriptures to disarm you, there is an anti-Christ motive behind that person. There is an anti-Bible motive. Their agenda is to control you. Free men own firearms. Slaves do not. But free men do. This is not an option. It's a command. It was a command by Moses. I want to teach you something else. What time does Sunday school end? 1040? A.M.? Go to Numbers chapter 32. Are you still with me this morning? Why are you doing this? It's in the Bible. And I'm sorry, but when I surrendered to preach, I surrendered to preach all of it. Amen? And it happens to be Memorial Day, and well, we've got some folks we need to remember who gave their lives to keep and bear arms against those who don't believe in God. Numbers chapter 32. And when you've found it, would you say amen? And then look at me for just a moment. How many of you have heard the verse of Scripture, you reap what you sow? How many ever heard this phrase, what goes around comes around? How about this one, paybacks are coming? Okay, all of that originates from the passage that I'm about to read. And certainly I've heard dozens of messages on reaping what you sow, but I've never heard one time With the exception of what I'm about to tell you, I've never heard one time where someone put it in its biblical context. They took the thought and made application someplace else. Now, I'm a firm believer, before you make application, you must nail interpretation. If you don't have interpretation, you're missing the mark with application. So you've got to get the sense of the Scripture first before you can make application. If you don't have that, you're going to miss the mark. Study to show thyself approved unto God, rightly dividing His Word. So let's make the correct interpretation about this phrase, be sure your sins will find you out. Why did Moses say that? What did it pertain to? And I think you're going to learn something this morning. Numbers 32, verse number 20. Moses is dividing up the promised land. They haven't accessed it yet. They're getting ready to go get it. They're out of Egypt, but they don't really have possession of all of it yet. But they're making their plans. And Moses gets these instructions from the Lord, and they wrote them down. Exodus 32, verse 20, Moses said unto them, if ye will do this thing, if ye will go, what's the next word? Armed before the Lord to war. Well, Brother Schapp, I think I'm just going to go as a pacifist and trust God. That's exactly what the Muslims want you to do. That's exactly what the liberal politicians want you to do. May I say thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God? If ye will do this thing, verse 20, if ye will go armed before the Lord the Lord, verse 21, and will go some of you. Is that what your Bible says in verse 21? And will go some of you. How many? And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the Lord. See, again, I've heard another 20 or so sermons how they followed those priests that bore the Ark of the Covenant. But I've got news for you. Somebody went before them. the armed people. It's because those who don't believe in your God and have rejected your God have no respect for your God. None. Verse 21, And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the Lord, until ye have driven out his enemies from before him. And the land be subdued before the Lord. Then afterward you shall return and be guiltless before the Lord and before Israel. And this land shall be your possession before the Lord. Now, what did he tell them to do in verse 20 and 21? Go armed. How many? All of you. All of you. What are the consequences if you don't obey this commandment? Verse 23. But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sins will find you out." Whoa. Does everybody understand what the phrase, your sins will find you out, pertains to now? Not arming yourself. If you don't arm yourself, every one of you, you will lose what God gave you. And be sure, that means absolutely, your sins will find you out. You will lose your family structure. You will lose your country. You will lose your heritage. You will lose what God gave you if you don't arm yourself every single one. This was not an option, ladies and gentlemen. This was a commandment. Do you see now that the New Testament and the Old Testament do not contradict one another? Even Jesus said, I came not to destroy the law but to fulfill. The amen's are a little weak here this morning. It's because you don't hear the limp-wristed and the politically correct crowd adequately and rightly quote God's Word. Well, we heard something, but did the Bible say that? Well, we heard the Bible said that. Well, does the Bible say that? Or what does the Bible say? Many phrases come from, be sure your sins will find you out. The correct interpretation was associated with not arming oneself to protect their land. In 1911, Turkey established gun control and from 1915 to 1917, one and a half million Armenians were rounded up and exterminated and lost their freedom. In 1929, Russia established gun control. Now, my definition of gun control is different than the politicians. My definition of gun control is hitting what you're aiming at. What they mean when they say gun control is gun confiscation, gun elimination. What part of thou shalt not be infringed do they not get? How many of you own a firearm? How many of you had to go through a background check before you got the firearm? You fill out a form 4473. That form has been here for well over 30 years. You cannot legally buy a firearm if you are a convicted felon, if you've been adjudicated mentally ill. You cannot. It is impossible. There's no such thing as a loophole. You cannot buy that gun from that dealer. It is impossible. A series of questions. that you have to answer. Now, that's our second amendment, shall not be infringed. Let me ask a question to the liberal news media who believes in the first amendment. Let me ask, and it also states shall not be infringed. Let me ask you liberal news media people, would you consider it an infringement if every reporter had to go through a background check before they reported every story. As a firearms owner has to go through the background check when they purchase every firearm. Mr. Ms. Reporter, would you consider it an infringement if you had to be fingerprinted before you reported a story? And you had to keep a log book of where you got the story from and who you reported the story to and be held financially liable and responsible for anyone who took that story and did something evil with it. We required you to buy liability insurance. Every firearms dealer has to. Mr. and Ms. Reporter, would you consider it an infringement If we made you wait 24 hours before you could report the story, or two weeks, or only let you report one story per month, because some firearms people can't buy more than one a month in some states. What about if we put a 17% excise tax on every story? before it was reported because that's how much tax is on every gun and every ammo before it gets to the dealer and then you buy it and then you pay sales tax on top of the excise tax. That's a tax on a tax, by the way. Would the news media consider that an infringement? Do you see the double standard? How many of you see the double standard here this morning? And when the Second Amendment's gone, Mr. and Ms. Reporter, Who's going to defend your right for the first one? We're trying to help you, but you're trying to destroy us. In 1935, China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political Chinese dissidents were rounded up and murdered. 1938, Germany established gun control. As a matter of fact, I have one of Adolf Hitler's statements from 1938. For the first time in the world's history, go Google it up, the world will recognize us as going, as becoming a free and secure nation when they established gun control in 1938. 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, Gypsies, and Polish people were rounded up and murdered by Adolf Hitler's regime. 1956, Cambodia established gun control. One million educated people were murdered after that. 1964, Guatemala did. From 64 to 81, 100,000 Mayan Indians unable to defend themselves, rounded up and exterminated. 1970, Uganda established gun control. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians were rounded up and exterminated. The number in the 20th century, because they couldn't defend themselves, because their right to bear arms was taken away, 56 million people have lost their freedom, posterity, lives because they were disarmed. Their preachers quit preaching all of the Bible, became politically correct instead of biblically correct. The United States is a Christian nation. I have a copy of the Mayflower Compact I carry with me. I've read it so much I can quote it. It's the first document associated with this new country, 1620. First paragraph, we the undersigned for the advancement of the Christian faith do undertake this maiden voyage. We the undersigned for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith do undertake this maiden voyage. Two reasons our forefathers founded the United States of America, for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith. They were studying Hebrew on the Mayflower. There were no Muslims on the Mayflower. There are no Muslim signatures on the Declaration of Independence. There are no Muslim signatures on the United States Constitution. There are no Muslim signatures on the Bill of Rights. There were no Muslim that fought for this country against the British. There were no Muslims who fought for this country during the Civil War. There were no Muslims who fought for this country during the Spanish-American War or World War I. or to defend the freedoms of what we stood for in World War II. As a matter of fact, if I back up to World War I, they were against us. General Blackjack Pershing lined up 40 Muslims, shot 39 of them with a bullet dipped in pig's blood, and let the 40th one go and said, you better go back and tell the rest of them what just happened. And the United States went almost 100 years without being attacked by Muslims. In World War II, they were aligned with Adolf Hitler. And Ahmadinejad still says today that the Holocaust did not happen? Are you an idiot, sir, or what? It didn't happen? Come with me. I'll show you the Holocaust Museum. I'll show you the video footage of where German soldiers shot young Israeli mothers in the head while they were holding infant babies. gas them and burned them. See, that's the kind of people Jesus is saying you need to defend yourself against. Amen. Mr. Obama said a couple of years ago in a Muslim country, Turkey, that the United States was not a Christian nation and that Muslims have always been a part of the American fabric and birthed in this great nation. That is not true. This is not a Christian nation, Mr. Obama. Even though the Mayflower says, for the glory of God and the advancement of Christian faith, the Mayflower Compact. Even though in 1776, when we declared independence, we wrote, quote, our rights were given by our creator. Even though in 1783, when the treaty ending the Revolutionary War was signed in Paris, the signers began the writing by saying, quote, in the name of the most holy trinity. They did not say in the name of Allah and Muhammad. Or in 1787, the Constitution was punctuated at the end by saying, in the year of our Lord, 1787. Or what about in 1887 when the Supreme Court of the United States ruled we are a Christian nation? Here is one sentence from all 50 states that make up the United States. out of each of their state constitutions. Each of these sentences, by the time I'd read it, each of these sentences, all 50 states, each of these sentences acknowledges that this is a Christian nation and that our rights were given to us by God, not Allah. And sir, Mr. Obama, for you to tell the Muslims that this is not a Christian nation, for you and Hillary to subject every citizen in the United States of America to the U.N. mandate that no one in the world may own a weapon is treason. I'm sharp. You're saying some bold things. I didn't stutter. Now, sir, you owe the American public an apology, and especially my father, who was a Marine, and my wife's father, who received a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and a Silver Star in World War II, and our fathers before then, and our fathers before then, and our fathers before then. You see, some of us who were born in the United States of America appreciate this country and are not looking to change it into something that it's not but to keep it as something that it was. And for some of us, sir, we read. We're not affected by the 30 seconds sound bite. We're not affected by the rock star status. We actually look at some facts in the world and in our Bible. Why should we do it? Very quickly. Jesus commanded us to. Moses commanded us to. We ought to obey like Joshua did. Go to Joshua chapter 6. Time prohibits me to show you where David taught the children of Judah the use of the bow. Why did He do that? Because the Philistines were going to kill everybody from Judah. And had He not done that, they would have been wiped out and Jesus would have never been born because He's the Lion of the tribe of Judah. And in Joshua 6, verse number 7, I just read an article where a little old lady had a five-shot revolver. Somebody broke into her house. Going to overpower her. She was 87 years old. She emptied her five-shot revolver and killed him. And somebody pressed charges against her. She went to court and the prosecuting attorney asked her, why did you shoot him five times? And she said, because I didn't have a six-shot revolver. And she was acquitted too. Hey man, I like the gal. Joshua was six and verse number seven. Now Joshua is going to implement the command that Moses said when you go into the Promised Land. The Promised Land. Go in armed. Now notice what Joshua did in Joshua 6, 7. He said unto the people, Pass on and come past the city. This is their marching around Jericho. And let him that is, what's the next word? Armed, pass on before the ark of the Lord. Well, I'm just going to stand there with my Bible. And they'll cut your head off one day. They don't regard this. They don't regard the God of this. Protect your family. The Ark of the Covenant was the presence of God. I completely understand that. But the command by God to Moses was, you go in before that with armed people. And so Joshua is implementing that. And you know the story. They marched around Jericho. Let's go down to verse number 9. The armed men went before the priest. Well I'll be. That blew with the trumpets and the rearward came after the ark. The priest going on and blowing with the trumpets. Go down to verse 13. And seven priests bearing seven trumpets of ram's horns before the ark of the Lord went on continually and blew with the trumpets and the armed men went before them. Verse 20, So the people shouted when the priest blew with the trumpets, and it came to pass when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, the wall fell down flat. And they got the promised land. Now that's how they crossed the Jordan. That's how they defeated Jericho who was standing between them and the promised land. They obeyed God. They obeyed God. And if you don't in this area, be sure, your sins will find you out. You will lose one day. Then when you've lost your freedom, how are you going to get it back? I asked a preacher one time, because he said, I just don't believe in all that stuff. I don't think it's worth fighting for or having guns. I said, what would you fight for? He thought for a minute. And that appalled me. Because I thought maybe the first word out of his mouth would be his wife. Amen? We have dumbed men and little boys down, drugging the little boys. They think they're little girls now. I would think the first person you'd be willing to fight for is your wife or your children. No, that didn't enter his mind. I asked him, what would you fight for? He finally said, well, the Bible. If they tried to take the Bible, I would fight for that. And I said, if they take your gun, First, what are you going to fight with? He said, wow, I never thought about that. Yeah, that's because you're in this puff-fluff, spoofle-dust world. Thirty-second soundbite TV. A political commercial world. A dangling of a fact that is the exception rather than the rule. He goes, I never thought about that. Wow. This particular pastor has armed himself, his wife. I think he's went a little overboard in some areas. But anyway, I got a convert. But he believes because that's what the scripture says. It's important that we do. I'm going to end with this story. 1814, Plattsburgh, New York. The British sent decoy troops to attack across the Saranac River. Two bridges, upstream, downstream. They sent some decoy troops upstream. The town found out about it. The British were crossing upstream, so all the men went upstream, dismantled the bridge, and made a fort. But it was just a decoy. The troops then went downstream and were going to cross. School was still in session. Mr. Aikens was the schoolmaster. He had 17 11-year-old boys in class that day. Somebody said, the British are coming downstream. Too late to go get the men. So Mr. Aikens told all his 11-year-old student boys, go home and get your muskets. And they went down to Beekman Town Road and set up a makeshift fortress in the grist mill on the downstream bridge. The British thought they would cross the bridge with no opposition. 17, 11-year-old boys opened fire. Not one boy was injured that day. And the United States was saved from invasion from the British due to 17, 11-year-old boys. Their fathers had taught them how to use a gun. They all knew how to shoot. They became known as Mr. Aiken's Volunteers. In 1826, Congress voted to give each of those, used to be 11-year-olds, now young men, an engraved musket. Do you think Congress would give a young person a gun today? Too afraid. Haven't taught children properly. If you got one of those guns, it's worth over a million dollars today. Each of those men grew up to be distinguished gentlemen. It didn't warp their personality. Amen. Mr. Aikens Volunteers. Memorial Day. Thank you, Lord, for our forefathers. Thank you men and ladies that have served our country. Thank you officers. Courageous Christians to stand for right. Father bless this Sunday school hour in Jesus name, Amen.
