Tonight we will study an influence of drinking of the cup. Because we see where the Lord said that all would drink of the cup. We either drink of the Lord's cup or we drink of Satan's cup. And if you've read some of that material I gave you last week, and I've got part two of it this week, some study material, You'll see the different ways in which they use cup as a metaphor, not just what's in the cup, but it represents what the cup symbolizes to partake of the presence of the person that's giving you that cup. And that's what we do at the Lord's table when you say, drink ye all of it. A cup has various meanings and we can see why that those that want to get the last minute thief on a cross salvation or whatever, that they're playing a pretty risky game. And that Jesus said the ones that continue in his word were his disciples because There's various meanings of the cup, of drinking of the cup, and it's according to how you drink of the cup. Even taking the Lord's cup of communion, it says if you drink it unworthily, in other words if you're not looking at the lord's body as the caribbeans was doing they were having supposedly a love feast but they were eating and drinking and drunk before everybody got there and they wasn't discerning the lord's body they weren't looking at the somnolent of it and that's what i said religion is doing or spirituality is doing today they're profaning that which is holy they're profaning that which is holy And they're treating it with contempt. And with that cup, what he was doing, he was ratifying a covenant. He ratified a covenant with the cup. And we see in what we're studying this week is the book of Jeremiah, the 25th chapter, where he had already kicked the children of Israel and Judah out. But he told Jeremiah, the 25th chapter, that to go and after he spoke to his nation, to go and talk to the heathens' nations and said, it shall come to pass, verse 12, when 70 years are accomplished that I will punish the kingdom of Babylon And that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity in the land of the Chaldeans, they will make a perpetual desolation. And I will bring upon that land all my word which I pronounced against them. Even all that is written in this book which Jeremiah the prophet had prophesied against all nations. It wasn't just Israel or Judah he was prophesying against. It was all nations just like we do today when he tells us to go in to all nations and preach the gospel. We're not doing what we're supposed to do and he's gonna hold us because he had appointed us as watchmen. See, people don't like to make the Bible apply to them. It's just not the preacher. We're all witnesses of Jesus Christ and it's our responsibility to be a witness for Jesus Christ. Just as he sent Judah into exile, they were to be a light in Judah. I mean, in Babylon, and by them preaching and teaching, the gospel was to raise up a people unto them, all the nations. That was the cup. That was in the cup. The gospel was the portion of that cup. He says, For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also and I will recompense them according to their deeds and according to the works of their own hands. For thus said the Lord God of Israel, take the wine cup of this spirit at my hand and cause all nations to whom I send thee to drink it. So Jeremiah himself, he wasn't going to all nations and preached his gospel. but the essence of this gospel was going to all nations all the spirits of the people that god had designated just like the apostles when you say through that they were that they would believe up on me because it was many a more profits during the day than just chairman just like when it says philip had four dollars that prophesize we're all just because word that's what we spoke to people nowadays say they converted city of jesus christ i think they don't have anything to do but just sit around with the guys of the women on their jobs up around the house or whatever and talk things of the world but you're supposed to go and proclaim the gospel meditating god's word day and night day and night that's the influence that drinking of his cup have on you is that you see what your sin did to him that that cup that he said father this could pass from me it was our sins in that cup that he had to drink all that down the dregs of that cup was our sins laid upon him and we have to look at each one of ourselves and say we're guilty those was my sins he was drinking the cup for me we wasn't worthy and that he was worthy to drink that cup. That's why we take that chameleon, because we're unworthy. He was the worthy. He's the one we worship, and he's our God. It was his blood, that blood. He said, this cup, this is the blood that was shed for you. The body which was broken, and we notice that he took the focus off of the broken body. In other words, off of the word, but he put it up on the spirit, the wine that was in the cup, the spirit that he was giving out. See, Passover signified that during the Old Testament time. You notice the focus up on the lamb, but this focus was up on the wine and up on that cup. And at the end time in Babylon, he could say, she's drunk with a cup. They could be in perverted the gospel, but they didn't heard it. That's why he's able to judge them all because they've heard the word and rejected the word. Let's look and see how they rejected the word. He says, verse 27, therefore, thus said unto him, thus said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, drink ye and be drunk. and spew and fall and rise no more because of the sword which I will send among you. And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, thus said the Lord of hosts, you shall certainly drink of the cup, even as it could be the cup of his blessing, in which you say, well, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want my cup running over. you know it's a couple blessed but we will have to do like you just read in jane we will have to suffice the profits of we will have to partake of with the one who gave us the cup particular we have to partake of the same thing jesus partook of and that was the shame the suffering that he took up when he dropped that cup that's what we've filled it john james it was a really really he said that that i can't give you to sit on my right hand eleven But to drink of the cup, you have to drink of that cup, but you're not able to drink of the cup I drank of. You could be a partaker in drinking because everybody can't suffer the same way. Because everybody's not that strong. So it may be sickness you may suffer, but if you go around and make everybody hate you when you're around sick, If people don't want to be around you, you're not glorifying God in that. You're making sickness different from what John, Eric, and Titus do. Notice that the people of God, they take their sickness and strive that that was the cross God had laid up on them to bear. So they bear it without murmuring and complaining. Well, then we should do like Jesus said, shall I not take the cup that my father had given me to drink? we have to drink that i will have to in other words whatever circumstances whatever is in this cup because i made a covenant with him we will have to make a covenant with him he makes that covenant with the whole world that's the new covenant in his blood when we take in the that he said this is the new covenant in my blood this is the new testament time this is a different age he says I begin to bring evil upon the city which is called by my name. And should ye be utterly unpunished? If I punish my own, if judgment begins at the house of God, where should the unrighteous be? Those that don't go to church, those that don't follow Christ. If I whip my own children, you don't think what's gonna happen to you for not doing right? You see, that's why he had kicked the Amorites and Hittites out. He had told Abraham you couldn't come in yet because that cup of iniquity wasn't full yet. But then when he got ready to kick them out and he brought them in, they came in and did the same thing and God kicked them out. Because they did the same thing that the Gentiles, that the Hittites, that the Jebusites and everything did. It's no difference whether you're a child of God or not if you break God's law. that's what i said abraham and i think it's just that i don't and the children of the kingdom shall be cast out of public it's a part of the week see that everybody that's in the church that's not necessarily going into the kingdom they won't be invited into god's kingdom god has to judge them and if they're drunken of that cup unworthily in other words if they didn't sacrifice god if they hadn't grown if they hadn't did something to show themselves They're going to be like that servant that he and his town. And you say, well, look, you knew what kind of Lord I was. what what profit that you made with my money. I gave you gifts. I gave gifts unto men what you did with my money. Oh, I knew you had died for us. I knew you had saved men. You gave me the gift of eternal life, and I just went and hid it. I never did tell nobody I was born again. I never did go around and try to wean anybody to Christ. I never did live for you. I didn't do anything. You know, people, I would tell people I'm a Christian, but I didn't do any works. You could be rewarded according to your deeds. He said, no good unprofitable servant, cast him out. And you could have at least given my money to the money changers, and I would have had something when I came back. You could have put it in the bank or something. But you wouldn't have had that that I gave you. You was a closet Christian, in other words. When your people were sitting around, instead of you going and telling them about the Lord, or when they speak to you or whatever, you would sit down with them and joke and talk about what women they're running around with, what guys they're running around with. On the job, they influence you. You drunk up their cup. You can't drink of both cups. You can't drink of the cup of the Lord and of the devil. So you did what they say in Psalms. Let's look at the Psalms. First Psalms. It says, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly. That don't do all these things with ungodly people, that don't follow in that path with the ungodly. Blessed is he drinking of the Lord's cup. He's following, he's partaking of what Jesus took up. He was a man that was acquainted with grief. He knew what it was to be alone. He knew what it was to not have friends. He knew what all these things was. He didn't walk with the young God. He says, none standeth in the way of sinners. When he was around people, he was working. He said, God has sent me to work, not to feed people. He said, these people follow me because I fed them and I healed them. So he came and did the works. He said, but it's going to be worse for those people than it was for Sodom and Gomorrah, because the gospel didn't benefit them either. That was grace given in vain, in other words. They didn't do anything with what I did for them. It was always a lopsided relationship. They would come to me, they would petition me, but I never knew them. They didn't have fellowship with me. They didn't get up and pray to me. They didn't talk to me. They had no communion with me. That's why he wants to have communion with you, fellowship with you. That's what this covenant is about. that you would come in and have him and the father sup with you. That you tell him your problems, that you talk with him, that you submit to him. that's taken up of his but she we've said the status of the senate in the seat of the school that was always critical of p always down some of it you'd want to know that that's what some in the church he says offices must come it's going to be people in the church that bring office again he said but will be a bit though that that office come back you have to watch what you say to people of god you have to exalt not tear down You have to lift up. You have to be led by the Spirit of God. You say, esteem others higher than you do yourself. We can't be busybodies in others' affairs and all that. That's drinking of the wrong cup. When you see that in the Book of Galatians, the fifth chapter, those are the works of the flesh. The works of the flesh, and they tell you what the works of the flesh are. But they tell you what the fruit of the Spirit are. so the fruit will bring forth fruit if you work hard enough it's got to produce the freedom but without him you can't produce fruit without him you can't do anything he has to be in it he said but his delight is in the law of the lord and he and his law he do it meditate day and night that's where he get his fun out of it he don't get fun out of sitting around watching television all day he don't get fun out of the sports and the games and things That's just a part of this world. Now, if you look at 1 Peter, it says, as using this world, not abusing this world. So he's not saying that you couldn't go to a ball game. He's not saying that you couldn't partake of a movie. But is that the way of life? Do you partake of the things of the world more than you partake of the things of God? Do you have a greater delight in the things of the world than in the law of God? So you hooked on the world, and you had escaped the corruption that is in this world. He was the one who helped you escape that, which you brought back into bondage. You are in bondage to the things of this world. That's why he calls us out of Babylon. Babylon is the world, the world system. Once he made that covenant, he says, He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth its fruit in its season. His leaves shall also not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Because he don't quit, he don't faint. It's got people that give up on their hearts. their hopes, their aspirations, and their dreams. I got relatives, I got people that they're so negative, they don't have no drive, no energy or nothing, and those kind of people wear you down. You have to come around them sometimes, but get back because it wears you down. It wears you down. God's spirit energizes. God's Spirit energizes you to where, as you get older, you get stronger. It does it like it did Caleb, like it did Moses. Moses was 120 years old. He said his vision hadn't dimmed. His strength and help was there. He was able to walk up that mountain in which God allowed him to see the promised land. notice those that are in the spirit they're always doing inconsistently have hope and outlook but those without any hope those that world have become a desolation and everything has given over to perdition nothing but negatism and they see everything as negative it had those jews that went to babylon that was in their frame of mind It has those type people everywhere that nothing, you can't look for them to energize you. You can't look for them to say something that inspires you. It doesn't dwell in the spirit of God. They're drinking of the wrong cup and they're about dead. no life in them but god said he was going to give us eternal life there's something about the child of god you could know that god's spirit is in him but if he had not the spirit of christ he's none of his he says non godly are not so but are like the chaff of the wind which drive it away Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in judgment, nor the sinner in the congregation of the righteous." They will be preached out of the church. They will be preached out of the church. That's a highway to holiness. The fool won't err of their end. Toward the end they'll be preached out of God's church judgment starts at the house of God It's gonna be a day that we could lay down and lay down in peaceful pastors that we could enjoy the Word of God We don't have to be on God all the time that God's gonna take away that cup of wrath and give us of his cup to drink That's not gonna be pleasant doing that journey It wasn't pleasant for him. It caused so much separation from the father. That's what the agony was, the separation that he was going through, because the father had to pull out his wrath upon him. You know, the child that you love, or the woman you love, or the man, or whatever you love the most, that you have to turn on that and really hurt that. I know one time, one of my grandchildren that did something, He just popped them in, boy, look at here. He just threw all apart, you know, and just was, and he came in the house, and later on, one of them, I was outside, me and him was working together, and I had left, and he was inside, he told my wife, I don't know what I did to my papa, why he left me or whatever. Well, I had forgot that, you know, he was in the house drinking water or something, or the one that I hit was so sharp that I hit him. But see, that was a side of me that they had never seen. They didn't want to see that. And it hurt me when my wife told me, said, well, little Marcus was seeing it. I said, oh, I didn't even know. Because we had just left him up at church in the morning. He had played the drum. We had went to the auto parts store. We had got brake parts and everything. We had had a good morning together. But see, Jesus had to see that far side of the father in which he had always did that which pleased the father, but he was going to have to see the side of the father that he was going to have to turn his back on. He said, my God, my God, why art thou forsaken me? He knew that had to come, but he had asked the father, he said, if that, let that come pass from him, if possible. Don't let it happen during that time. I don't want to be forsaken by you. I don't want you to leave me alone. You know, I felt the loneliness myself. You see, that's when God had to turn his back on his son. That he had to go in darkness. He had to go in hell. He had to go in that grave. God couldn't go with him. God can't go with us in darkness. When we dwell in darkness, God has no fellowship with us in darkness. There's no darkness in God and he can't fellowship with you in darkness. but the pain to him to see his son, to allow that to happen to his son. He said, father, father, why have thou forsaken me? I just hear that each time when I think about my little grandson. He said, well, I don't know what I did to my papa. He hadn't did anything. But to be all alone, you know, to that wife or to that spouse, whoever that then got mistreated by the other one, wondering what you did for them to do you like that, to shame you, to commit adultery on you, to quit on you, just run off and leave you. Some children, their parents just run off and leave them, forsake them or whatever. That rejection, that's the cup he didn't want to drink up. And see, he says, For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. So he knows what cup you're drinking of. He knows what you're going through. Whom is the covenant with? Whom did he make the covenant with? And see, you have preachers out there. There's a famous preacher out of Texas. I don't want to call any name or whatever. But he's an older guy. He's been in it for years and years. His son's preaching now, I think. But his ministry, he's a big old guy, big guy, but he preaches all the time about the Jews. And that's part of the wine that's in the cup of wrath because there is no division. There's no Jew or Gentile. But everything he preaches about the Jews, there's no Jew or Gentile with Jesus Christ. He made that covenant. He ratified that covenant. Let's listen to how he ratified that covenant and who he ratified that covenant with. Daniel 9 and 21. See, because that old covenant was weak through the flesh. So he decided to make another, he says, yea, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation and informed me and talked with me and said, oh Daniel, I'm now come forth to give you, give thee skill and understanding. Daniel had prayed because they were about to leave captivity, that 70 years was over with. And he didn't understand what was going on, just like we don't understand. But the fear of God bringing understanding and knowledge. And God explained these things to you. But the Antichrist and the false prophets and things that have you thinking that's just for Israel, that's way in the future, and that you're supposed to make a covenant with the Antichrist. Well, the Jews don't speak for us. The Jews got their own sin to speak for themselves. They don't have any power with God that we don't have. We're all the same. So he says, at the beginning of thine supplication the commandment came forth and I am come to show thee. For thou art greatly beloved, therefore understand the matter and consider the vision. Seventy weeks are determined upon thine people and upon thine holy city to finish the transgression and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity. and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. Remember I told you that prophecy had a dual effect. Some of it was present, some future, and some past. Well, this is one. This was fulfilled during the time of Daniel, but the preaching to the whole world wasn't fulfilled during the time of Jericho. In a way it was to the known world, but in a way it wasn't. It also happened during the times of the apostles when he did this to Jerusalem, when this scattering happened in Jerusalem. And it also happens in the end time. But this covenant, they're talking about Jesus here making a covenant. But those people who want to make this conform to the Jews, they preach that this is the Great Tribulation and some man, some Antichrist, that the world can make a covenant with him, which is bad theology. It's hard to unlearn that because that's the way you've learned it for years. He said, know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the prince shall be seven weeks and threescore and two weeks and the street shall be built again and the wall even in troubleless times and out the threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off he was cut off in the midst of years he had a three and a half year ministry Jesus ministry only lasted three and a half years. During the midst of that time, he was cut off. He says, but not for himself and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and sanctuary. A lot of people say it was Titus Vespasian. A lot of people said that when he came and destroyed the temple in Jerusalem, a lot of people push it back to Antiochus Epiphanes, to when he offered the oblation of sacrifice. But this also is Jesus Christ here when it says, and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week. and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease and the over spreading of abomination he shall make it desolate even until the consummation and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate jesus when jesus was killed the sacrifices in all oblation ceased. There were no more sacrifices offered. The curtain of the temple was rent. You didn't have to any longer sacrifice. And if any Jew, anybody offer up sacrifices to God now or at any time since the death of Jesus Christ, that's sacrilege because God has gotten his lamb sacrificed to him. John witnessed of that. Behold, this is the Lamb of God. That was the perfect sacrifice. So it's been accepted by God nor the Sacrifices go. It's God's great self that's going against God's Word But if you get tied up in some religions, they'll have you trying to establish the wine of the wrath of Babylon in which the Jews did against Paul, which the Jews did because they were a law keeper. And that's what Judaism is today, that they still seek after the law and they don't accept Jesus Christ till this day. So he ratified that covenant. That's why he told his disciples, I've been wanting to eat this meal with you. The cup of that New Testament, the bread and the wine, that lasts up, that was the cup. Whoever drinks of that cup, whoever partakes of that table, that's the Lord's table. That's the covenant, and he's gonna protect you. That's the covenant he's making with the world, with men. If you don't listen at the words of those apostles, if you don't listen and partake of that cup, you refuse the Lord's cup and you could take the devil's cup. Now Jesus offered his blood, he said, this cup that was represented. If he didn't tell them the wine, read Matthew and it's in some of your notes, he didn't say the wine in the cup was his blood. He said this cup, drink ye all of it what's in the cup. In other words, partake of his sorrow, his tribulation. He said if they did it to the green tree, they're gonna do it to the dry tree. Whatever they did to him, they would do it to us. We are partakers along with him. We took part in his death. We are buried with Christ Jesus. That's partaking of his cup. That's his cup. But the world's cup could have you acting and doing different. It could have a different influence on you. You could drink and stagger. Paul said, don't be drunk with wine. You could be drunk with the wine of this world's spiritual intoxication. But see, the Lord's cup doesn't make you act strangely or irrationally. Hosea also spoke this in Hosea 2 and 9, 16. It says, And it shall be at that day, said the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishi and shalt call me no more Baal. Baal just means Lord. He says, for I will take away the names of Balaam out of their mouths. I will take all the false gods, all of your idol worship. I'm going to wash you. You will be washed in the blood of the Lamb. That's why if we continue in God's Word, what does He? Washes us and makes us clean. All of that away from us. We're washed by the Word of God. That's why I say if you continue in my Word, Then are you my disciples indeed. But it's a continualness in his word, continuing in his word. That's why I said, as often as you drink this cup, you do remember my death. You remember what I did for you. If I did that for you, you need to do that. that you did with me and that you realize that some of this the holiness to this occasion is to what you do you don't just drink the communion cup and just go out singing and do all the things you've been doing you you or wake up to a new consciousness you a new creation in christ jesus you see that christ is being formed in you by drinking of his cup he's making himself a new in each and every one of us were being made in his image and in his likeness. He said, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. He says, and in that day I will make a covenant for them with the beast of the field. The whole of creation waited for the manifestations of God. All of the governments of the world are waiting for that because he's Lord of Lords. He's King of Kings. All of those people that are in offices, he's placed there. That's why we can't rebel against authority. Well, I know Saddam Hussein, this and that. I know this man, this and that. You're not fighting against flesh and blood. It's powers and principalities. What's behind the throne? What demon is behind those idols? that behind every idol, if you drink of the cup of sports and follow these certain basketball or football player or people of the world that's part of the Babylonian system, you partaking of that demon idol there. That's the cup you're drinking of. That's why I say, and you can't get this overnight. You can't get it in a teaching. It has to come through revelation of God. He has to open up your mind like he did to the disciples on Arminius Road. He has to open up your understanding for you to understand the scriptures. It's hard to understand the scriptures. You could see them and you know what they say, but you don't have an understanding. An understanding is a work in intimate knowledge, experience, and wisdom of that which you are handling. That's why he was telling them about watching you taking that sword, but that sword can cut both ways. That's a double-edged sword. You have to be careful. He says, with the files of the hell with creepy things of the ground it will break the bullet this war in the battle out of the earth and we'll make them to lie down safely in other words he's the reverend nature he's the reverend the hostility of the world that's all our only way back onto god is a spiritual way because even if we had some of our mail to somebody to help do this how do we get back into a spiritual presence of god when you have the cherubim guarding the way to the tree of life. We wouldn't be in God's presence if we could figure this. If they'd have built the tower that reached into the sky, they couldn't talk with God. Because it was man's efforts. It was man doing this, not God doing this. We can't get that by man's works, by our work. God has to be in that. He has to reveal himself to us. So he was going to cause the line to lay down with the land. He was going to cause the earth, the weather cycles to be reversed. He's going to cause nature to be restored back to its original intent. That's what the new creation, that's what his kingdom does. He's going to make water flow in the deserts. He's going to level hills and mountains. He's going to make the world inhabitable to all men. they shall neither hurt nor destroy or kill in his holy mountain," he says. But that's to those that are drinking of the cup of blessing. He says, "...for they shall soon be cut off," because they can't stand as God brings his judgment upon the earth. He's bringing his judgment and his people see that. That's why they have hope and joy because they know their redemption, their salvation is closer now than ever was. And you can see it, you can feel it each day you grow toward God. He says, I will betroth thee unto me forever. He's not gonna divorce him. He's not gonna do like he did to Judah. They will be espoused to him forever. That's what Paul said. I'm trying to present you a chaste virgin under Christ. That's what I need to do. Yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies. I'm going to wash you and cleanse you. The Lord didn't do those things for you. But that's what he's doing through this covenant. That's what drinking the cup. He says now, unless you eat of my body and drink of my flesh, I mean, eat of my body and drink of my blood, you have no life in you. And they say, look, this is a hard saying you do. Now, just because they turned away and all of them left and just the disciples, those apostles was left, do you think that changed what he said? Just because it was a hard saying, they didn't understand what he was saying, you see. And so we don't give up on things because we don't understand it. What did you just read in James? It says, blessed is he that endureth to the end, that has patience, through trial and tribulation. That's what he's building character in us. He has to do that. It don't come by fiat. He says, I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness. And Israel and Judah never was faithful unto God. They never were faithful to him. And thou should know the Lord. They didn't know him. And that's what his argument was. And that's what his argument of the world. You do not know me. You don't know me. Pharaoh said, who is the God that I should let you go? Philip walked with him, and Jesus said, all of this time, Philip, I've been with you, and you have not known me. He said, show me the Father. You have not known me. I've been with you all this time. He says, and it shall come to pass, in that day I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth, and the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil, and they shall hear Jezreel. What is Jezreel? Jezreel was the hometown, if you read Hosea, that's where he redeemed Jezreel, that he had sent Jehu out to do a job in the kiln, Ahab's family, cut off Jezebel and all of that family line. But you remember that he went beyond what he's supposed to in zeal, and he killed all the people of Jezreel, and God had to punish the house of Jehu because he's like the Jewish people. God says through Paul in the book of Romans, He says they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. That's dangerous to see it without knowledge. It's like somebody ready to work and get a job done, but they're old. They don't understand how to work. They don't understand how to do stuff. They'll cause more trouble than good. They don't have a work that grabs something and break it because you don't know the finities of that. You don't know how to do that. That's without knowledge. But see, he's gonna give them wisdom and knowledge and understand. See, he said to Jews, they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge, though. A lot of people wanna serve God, but they never knew him. All those at the end, they say, Lord, Lord, didn't we do this in your name? He said, I never knew you. I never knew you. You didn't have a knowledge of me. He says, and I will sow her unto me in the earth, and I will have mercy upon her. And they that had not obtained mercy, and I will say to them which were not my people, thou art my people. And they shall say, thou art my God. Remember, he used that as an example with Hosea. His wife was adulteress. And those children, and he said it wasn't his children. God says, beholo me and Lorima. He says, name this one there, because that's not my people. And the one I said, wasn't my people, don't call them my people, and the one I said was my people, don't say it, not my people. See, that's why he said he would take it to a Gentile nation, because the Gentiles really glorified God. That's what Nebuchadnezzar did. He brought glory to God. And if you went back and read that fourth chapter of that, you'll see where Nebuchadnezzar, when he came out from the test that God had put him through those seven years, he said he glorified the God of heaven. You all read that the other day? You all came back and read that? Nebuchadnezzar gave a testimony in Daniel, the fourth chapter, at the end of that chapter. This is a, as they say, a Gentile king. Let's start at the 36th verse of the fourth chapter of Daniel. He says, and at the same time, my reason returned unto me. God says he was going to give the people knowledge and understanding. Nebuchadnezzar's reason came back. The Herod situation went away and that administration that God wanted to pass away had passed away. He says that for the glory of my kingdom, my honor and brightness returned unto me. He was restored back to his kingship because he was a servant of God. He had just got proud and high-minded. His pride had entered in. he says when they all have returned to me and my counselors and my lord sought unto me and i was established in my kingdom and excellent majesty was added unto me you mean to tell me all through he went and added excellent majesty unto him this was a symbol of jesus christ the king of kings he says third chapter You remember I told you who wrote that chapter? It's in the first person. He says, now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the king of heaven. All those works are truth. And his ways and judgment and those that walk in pride, he's able to abase. I'm a testimony. He's able to abase those that walk in pride. But we like to make everybody the enemy. Like God hates these people. It's not people. And he constantly tells us, this is not flesh and blood we war against. But if you listen to religion and religion, they will try to get you to be a people later. That's the influence of the World's Cup, First Corinthians. Two in 10 says, but God had revealed them unto us by His Spirit. For the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of God? Remember I say you couldn't know the things of God unless you had the Spirit of God. And that's why He gave us His Spirit. Paul's talking to the Corinthians now. He's saying, what man knoweth the things of God except by the Spirit? See, man has a spirit. And that spirit communicates with the spirit of the Lord. But you could be a living being just with your human spirit and not have the spirit of God dwelling in you. And if you don't have the spirit of Christ, you are none of His. It is your spirit that leads you and guides you. But listen, he says, for what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of a man which is in him? not even so the things of god know it no man but the spirit of god dot the spirit of man but the spirit of god he says now we have received not the spirit of the world see that's the wrong cup that's the one that influences that's the one that bonds us to the world bonds us to this sex-attaining world There's two seeds in the world. You don't want to be bonded to the sons of men. The daughters of men looked at the sons of God and men went into the daughters of men. see that's what led them astray. Who was it that led Ahab astray? The daughter of men. It was Queen Jezebel. She'd teach and seduce his servants. The world is a type, you know, that's why they used a woman as a seductress. She's a type of one that tempts you away from God. Solomon used in the book of Proverbs as the adulterous woman. Her ways lead to the ways of death. Babylon, that great harlot, the woman that set it up on the beast, she sits on a world ruling system he says now we have not the spirit of the world but the spirit which is of god that we might know the things that are freely given us of god you can't know what god has for you unless you have his spirit that's why a lot of people are confused they don't know their inheritance they don't know the power that they have they don't know what family they belong That's why jesus say as they said they say now you can pray our father pray abba father Pray to him anything you ask him in in my name He'll give you because you're in the family now You're part of the family says god loved us with the same love. He loved jesus. He'll do anything in jesus name for us But see, people read that and then they go tell you to pray for this and pray for that. John says, 1 John says, we know we have the petition that we desire of him because what? We do those things according to his will. We pray according to his will. He didn't say pray for anything and he's just gonna give it to you. You have to be what? Seeking the kingdom of God. Seek first the kingdom of God. Which things we also speak verse 13 not in the words which man wisdom teaching but which the Holy Ghost teaching comparing spiritual things which spiritual thing see analogy is about Remember the other day the girl said we I could have did anything with your car. I left it on there I say well, I trust you, you know, she said well, yeah Was I trusting her was I trusting God? Do you have confidence in your wife or confidence in God? It says trust, no man, your wife will not do anything to you. Man, oh, I know my wife ain't gonna do that. That's the one she would fool around on. But if you trust God, God makes your enemy be at peace. You can't satisfy a woman. Only God can make that woman be satisfied with you. Only God can make that man be satisfied with you. If he's going to lust and want somebody else to flush, go do that. You weep through the flush. But God can make that person satisfied. God makes it content. That's why you thank God for your wife. That's a gift given unto you. That's a gift given unto you. God's not going to give you bad gifts. But you have to trust God. Your trust can't be in man. Man will let you down. But what does trusting God does? It leads you to trust in man. But it don't lead you to be ignorant. You think if she might have been dressed differently, and spoke differently, and acted differently, I wouldn't have really even said much to her. Now, he said, he's a spiritual judge at all things. But sometimes if you dress like a whore, you get treated like a whore. Was she treated or looked that way? She looked like a decent person that wouldn't do that. Now, I could have been deceived. You understand what I'm saying? see so you don't just go there your wife might trust you to go to this person's house or trust you to go to that person's house but you went to one woman's house and what if she said no don't go to her house because she know about that person huh? am I right? see because it's certain things that you allow and disallow god start opening your eyes to let you know who your friends are it's not that your parents are psychic or anything But they're trying to raise you, and God had given them authority and given them power. So your mama or daddy don't want you to have friends. That's what they say, all children say. Right. But don't you have friends, or didn't you have friends coming up? Your dad said, I don't mind him coming over here. I don't mind you seeing her, good friend. But it was certain ones that said, don't fool with him. You end up in penitentiary. That was my daddy's term, you end up in penitentiary. You fooling with the wrong one. It was something about that individual that alerted your parents. It's not that your parents hated you and didn't want you to have friends. They didn't want you to have that friend. It teaches you which is to trust another. Do you stereotype? I stereotype. If I see some young guys coming up at night time and their pants all sagging off and they got hoods and things on, I'm locking the door, getting on the other side of the road. No, you can't flag me or look at me because you look like you do something wrong. If I'm wrong, I just was wrong bad guess Lord up got him wrong, but I might live long You know don't play with fire See, that's what Solomon did. He observed different thing. So you would if you live in this life look at let's keep going him he says Well, I First Corinthians, 5 and 9. He says, I wrote unto you in a epistle not to company with fornicators, yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters. For then must ye needs go out of the world. Watch the company you keep. We preached on that on evil communication, evil association. He says, but now let me clarify this, because some people are getting this all wrong. He says, but now I have written unto you, this is another epistle, because that was a part of the epistle that was lost. He got, what are the letters of Corinthians we don't have? He says, but now I've written unto you to not keep company if any man is called a brother be a fornicator. That's one in the church or whatever. That's one that say he's a Christian. That's why I was telling you about this politician that got elected in that district. And I said, well, you better watch him. The Lord tell you, don't keep company with those people. He says, because, wait a minute, here, I lost my place. a covetous, an idolater, a realer, a drunken, an extortioner, which such as one know not to eat." In other words, have fellowship. Eating and drinking of the cup, it's all fellowship. Know not to keep company with that person. "'For what have I to do to judge them also that are without?' Do you not judge them within?' You need to judge those within the church who you run with. He says, "'But them that are without God judge it. Therefore put away from you among yourselves that wicked person.'" In other words, it was easy, he said, for you, better for you to fool with somebody in the world that has these qualifications, that are doing it. Not that you run with any of them. But that if that's a worldly person, in other words, where was Jesus all the time? Around the sinners, right? Because he was trying to get them converted. And they knew they were sinners. And that's why the sinners would say, Lord, have mercy upon me, a sinner. But if you're in the church, if that preacher's doing that, and that deacon's doing that, he's unworthily taking... And he's going to be beaten with... But anyhow, he's going to be beaten with many more stripes. And the introduction took me so long. Can you believe I'm just now getting started? Okay, let's close with Luke here and then we'll finish this off next week and read all these scriptures that I gave you Which is a good bit But instead of me trying to hurry up and stuff them down you We will close with Luke and John I got John 2nd John squeezed in here. So let's do him in the new 2nd John 1 in 10. He says if there come any under you and bring not this doctrine Receive him not into your house Neither bid him Godspeed for he that bid him Godspeed is a partaker of his evil deeds Well, did y'all understand that verse? That verse is, and let me try to bit it to you, Jehovah Witness, Baptist, or whatever denomination somebody else is. That's why I say you really don't talk religion with other people. Religion has to be that cross, in other words. If they don't have the doctrine that you're studying, that you follow, it says you shouldn't have fellowship with that person spiritually. and when he's saying here house they met in houses then, they didn't have churches then, the synagogues were the churches but the synagogues were for Judaism, it wasn't Christ, you know, that's where they kicked Christ out of. So the houses, the people met in one another house, but here it would mean, don't let them in your church, and don't say, well, God bless you today. You say, I hope you can take that doctrine, you know, how these people come to you, to your house, and want to explain and read the Bible in a certain magazine or something, which, well, you say, well, look, I'm of a different, I believe in a different doctrine. And don't say, well, God bless you, this and that, there, because you are part of, you're pronouncing a blessing that that doctrine, they would go along the road and they would have good luck or blessing in deceiving someone else. That follows up in the book of Deuteronomy, the 34th chapter of Deuteronomy, starting at the 12th verse, where it says, Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest. lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee, but ye shall destroy their altars, break down their images, and cut down their groves." The places where they worship, the things that they worship and everything, it's an offense unto you. And that should have stood out to the Israelites of the people of Jewish heritage that went into Babylon that got tied up with Christmas worship and Easter worship. and got tied up with all these pagan holidays and pagan tradition. Because that's not the doctrine of Christ. That's not biblically taught. Those are different doctrines and even though it says the spirit of Christ and then using Jesus God tells you, even if these things do come to pass in the book of Deuteronomy, it says that person shall be stoned to death, because he's trying to lure you away from the true and living God. That's with all Solomon wisdom, he got lured away by his wife, because he started building them temples for Chemosh, and he started all their gods, and he would start going in their temple worship. You have worship is a private thing that's inclusive. The way to quench the spirit or to get out of God's house is to be in two different religions, to worship two different ways. That's spiritual fornication. He uses it in one sense of spiritual adultery. It's in, it should be in one of those notes I gave you. It's in the notes that I have coming to you about spiritual adultery and spirituality. That's what he was talking of here because that's what Augustine did when he united Christianity in the Roman Empire instead of losing the Roman Empire. That's when he changed Saturday worship into Sunday worship. And they worshiped the god Ra. And that was the worship of their god. And the Catholic Church have went on to, and they'll tell you in the Catholic Encyclopedias and everything, that they're the one who established Sunday as the day of worship. Man can't establish anything. God has to establish. And he established it by his word. So we have to not drink of the cup of the world. In other words, partake in what the world's doing. Because you can't drink of the Lord's cup and the world's cup. But I'll have to just introduce it there. And next week we'll elaborate on it.
