Pride in Pastors

Religious pride is the worst kind of pride. Consequently, religious pride in pastors is the worst of the worst. When we come to worship God, we should be most conscious of our sin and our nothingness. Pastors should be more conscious of this than anyone else. So, when pastors preach, pray, counsel, serve or witness in pride, it is especially offensive to God. Let pastors be duly warned and let congregations commit to pray for their pastors, that God would keep them from pride. Woe to us if we do our deeds like the Pharisees -- not for the glory of God, but to be noticed by men.
