Sacred Space in Promise: The Mosaic Covenant, Part II

After receiving the terms of God's covenant with Israel, Moses descended from Mount Sinai to record the covenant in a book and formally ratify it by a sacrificial ritual. What followed was a unique and strange encounter between the parties of the covenant. This sermon examines the ratification of the covenant and the subsequent fellowship celebration on God's sanctuary-mountain. It focuses on the historical significance of this event in the life of the nation of Israel and, more importantly, on its role in God's revelation of and preparation for His ultimate goal of recovering mankind to Himself and thereby restoring sacred space.
