The real issue for me is “Who is Jesus?”
Who do others say Jesus is?
John the Baptist—because of his

Elijah—because of his power
Jeremiah—because of his heart

Widespread skepticism
Enormous spiritual confusion
Deep spiritual hunger

Ignatius (A.D. 105) - “God himself was manifest in human form.”
Clement (A.D. 150) - “It is fitting that you should think of Jesus Christ as of God.”
Justin Martyr (A.D. 160) - “The father of the universe has a son and he...is even God.”
Irenaeus (A.D. 130) - “He is God, for the name Emmanuel indicates this.”
Origen (A.D. 185) - “No one should be offended that the Savior is also God.”
