Hello friends, this is Paul Scharf, Church Ministries representative for the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry. So grateful that you're joining me here on my page on sermonaudio.com. I'd like to just say a short word to pastors today. Pastor, you have had a very difficult job during this whole coronavirus crisis and I want you to know that we appreciate you and your service and your sacrifice and your diligence and your determination all throughout this time. And we haven't said that enough and we want to say it now. And I speak to you as one who has been a pastor in several churches and particularly as a full-time permanent pastor in two small churches. And I know that I'm speaking to many who are pastors of smaller churches, because that is the overwhelming majority of churches. And I want you to know how much we, again, appreciate all that you have done during this time. I believe that our churches, especially our small churches, are really the backbone of American society. And I don't think that they've been given nearly enough due during this whole scenario that has played out before us. but my point today is to go beyond just discussing those issues and just again to say first of all thank you for what you're doing and let me encourage you with two verses of scripture today Galatians chapter 6 verse 9 says let us not grow weary while doing good for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart and Hebrews chapter 6 verse 10 says God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward his name and that you have ministered to the saints and do minister so pastor keep going keep doing all the great work that you're doing to serve your congregation and to be a blessing to the church and to the community and if there is any way that I can help you and support you Please let me know. That is my role as a church ministries representative with the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry to help pastors, to help churches, to encourage them. And I want you to know that I'm not untouched by the same issues that you're facing. We've certainly had many changes in our schedule, many disappointments, many unexpected turns here in this whole situation this spring, just like you in many ways, although from a different context. But I want you to know we're here to help you if we can. Perhaps you're getting weary of trying to come up with ideas for video services if your state is still shut down and you need a way to inject some fresh encouragement into those services. If you would be interested, I would be glad to help you in any way that I can, perhaps to create a video for your church or to speak to your church by way of audio or video. I would be more than happy to talk with you about that and if your area is reopening for regular church services I would be very glad to talk to you about putting you on our calendar. We have some open dates yet in 2020 and I have a feeling that we're going to see our calendar adjusted continually as we go as churches are still sort of finding their way through all of the issues involved in reopening. So pastor let me encourage you today I want to be a blessing to you and I also want to share these ideas with you and let you know that the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry wants to be a support and encouragement to you at this time. So please contact me if there's any way that I can be of service. Thank you and God bless you.
Paul Scharf, church ministries representative for The Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry, shares some devotional and practical thoughts especially intended for pastors, as many churches are beginning to reopen from the coronavirus crisis. During this time when churches are being labeled as "non-essential," it is good to remember how valuable our churches actually are—and it is also good to encourage their pastors. Please share this short audio with your own pastor, and with all the other pastors that you know. Thanks for listening—and may the Lord bless you.
