For He's a wonderful Savior to me. He's a wonderful Savior to me. I was lost in sin, but Jesus took me in. He's a wonderful Savior to me. Good morning and happy Mother's Day to you mothers. We're glad that you're here. And I wanted to welcome Brother Nick Sutmeyer to the pulpit this morning. He'll be preaching. Brother Nick and his family, they're sent from our church here and are doing marvelous work in Mexico City. Mexico City is in the running for being the largest city in the world. I'll take their word, and there's several cities that lay claim to that. I'll take Mexico City. There is a lot of people there. I was told somewhere in the neighborhood of 35, 36 million. That's a pretty good crowd. But Brother Nick's doing marvelous work there, and it's good to have him. Patty, are you in here? his wife Patti back here. Most of you know Patti was saved as a teenager here and then went on to Bible college and met Nick and the Lord brought them together and they're doing marvelous work. We're glad you're here. Now I do want to mention this because I think you need to know it. We'll take two offerings this morning. Now, you know, I don't ordinarily do that. If we have a special speaker, we do, but I'm not one who's a big offering taker. But, you know, the Lord, somebody came to me one time and said, what do you do to worship? I said, well, we worship like they did in the Bible, by giving. Check it out. Read your Bible. They brought a sacrifice. And anyway, the first offering that we'll take during the service before Brother Nick preaches is the regular Sunday morning church offering. But then after the service, we'll take an offering just for Brother Nick. And so that's what we'll do. Let's pray and then I'll let you be seated. Lord, thank you for the privilege and opportunity of coming to church today. I pray that you'll bless in a special way, bless the entire service to your honor and glory. Bless Brother Nick, especially as he comes to preach in a little bit. If anyone's with us who doesn't know Christ as their Savior, I pray that you'll touch their hearts and draw them to Jesus and help them to have the courage and conviction and grace to come to Him and trust Him and be saved. And then bless, Lord, all who are your people who are already saved through the preaching of the Word of God. In Jesus' name, amen. Be seated. Oh, I'm going down. Brother Block's going to run the plaque. Saved by the blood. Saved by the blood of the crucified one. Now ransom from sin and a new work begun. Sing praise to the Father and praise to the Son. Saved by the blood of the crucified one. Glory, I'm saved. Glory, I'm saved. My sins are all pardoned. My guilt is all gone. I'm saved, glory, I'm saved I'm saved by the blood of the crucified one Saved by the blood of the crucified one The Father, He spake and His will it was done Great price of my pardon is precious son, saved by the blood of the crucified one. Saved, saved, my sins are all pardoned, my guilt is all gone. Saved, saved, I'm saved by the Saved by the blood of the crucified one All hail to the Father, all hail to the Son All hail to the Spirit, the Great Three in One Saved by the blood of the crucified one Glory, I'm saved. Glory, I'm saved. My sins are all parted. My guilt is all gone. Glory, I'm saved. Glory, I'm saved. I'm saved by the blood of the crucified. It is always a blessing to have folks visiting with us. If you're here for the first time or the first time in a long time, if you'd hold your hand up for a second, our ushers will come by and give you a visitor's card. I know we got some folks visiting with us. Anyone else? Good to have you folks back. We got some of our college kids, the sales girls are back. And then also Sean made it in. I didn't know Sean was coming. Sean made it in. And good to see the young folks here. Brother Henry, we know Kasia, but these other young folks, we don't know who they are. So, Brother Henry, tell us who all those other folks are sitting with you today. You can't have grandkids. It's good to see Kasia. Mrs. St. told me she was coming in. It's probably been, what, 30 years, 25? It's been a long time since we saw Kasia. She was one of our teenagers in a youth group years and years ago, kind of like Patty. But Patty's the one who gave me the gray hair. I'm not sure who gave Patty the gray hair. I'm not sure about that. But that was Nick. Nick and his parenting skills. Some of you missed Sunday school. Some of you dads can relate to where Nick was at. That commercial I have on TV where the dad is going to clean the kid up and the dog did it, that's, I mean, we wish we had a dog like that when we were taking care of the kids. But good to see all of you here for Mother's Day. Something special for all the mothers. If you'll stand up for just a second, our ushers and the folks are gonna come by. We have a potted plant for you today. It's called a peace lily. And so they're gonna come by and give you a potted plant. If you're like me, I can raise stuff outside. I cannot raise up anything inside. Nothing inside lives as far as plants, but the outside says, let's give all these mothers a big hand. We appreciate all the mothers today. And ladies, once you get your potted plant, you can have a seat. Our ushers will get to you, but they're a little elderly too, so they're getting around a little slower. So you just have to be patient with the elderly ushers. And mothers, we sure appreciate you being here. I'm going to go ahead and talk while they're doing that. The new prayer list is on the back. I'll change it this week, but again, all the folks that we've been praying for as far as Brother Nicholas and his wife. Be back in your place for six o'clock for the evening service brother Nick will be preaching for us again this evening And then Wednesday night we have prayer and Bible study at 730 so winning at 645 on Thursday and Friday we have a a I guess it's a for the trophies and stuff for all the all the kids that Liberty Christian Academy will start at 7 o'clock and that will be Here in the auditorium as well. We have an adult banquet coming up in the near future. That is August the 16th Save the date for that it is. I love my church Brother Ross will be with us. Many of you know Brother Ross. He comes every year for our Valentine's Banquet. He'll be coming and speaking for us on August the 6th for the Adult Banquet. And then Miss Miriam, the young lady that plays the piano for us on Wednesday night, is graduating and asked us to invite you to her graduation. That is this coming Saturday. It used to be Gateway Baptist Church. Now, it's Gateway Christian School, but it's on Five Palms. Every time I went over that way, it always reminded me of Brother Plumstead, because that's where Brother Plumstead lives, is right over in that area. But she's asked if you want to come to that. That's Saturday the 17th at 5 p.m. And then our revival will be Brother Quarrel. He comes every year for us about this time. He'll be coming in October the 19th, which is a Sunday. Preach for us all day on Sunday. Then he'll preach for us Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday night. And again, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be 7.30. Sunday will be our regular schedule. Visitors, good to have you today. And again, mothers, we sure appreciate, again, many of you that still have a mother alive ought to make sure that you tell her how much you appreciate her and love her. Many of us do not have a mother still on this earth. Our mother's up in heaven looking down. She's in that great cloud of witnesses. But if you have a mom that's still alive, you ought to make a big deal about that. I can tell you that moms keep the world going. I love my dad. My dad taught me a lot of stuff, but my mom was, and again, I guess boys have a different relationship with moms than girls do. I don't know, never been a girl, but I know that mom's a big help to sons and points us in the right direction. And also, by the way, moms never have a girl that's good enough for their sons. I don't know if all moms are like that. But my mom didn't think any of myself or my brother's wives were worthy of us. They were, but moms don't always believe that. But again, I appreciate my mom. She's in heaven. So again, if you have a mom alive, make sure you let her know how much you appreciate her. Make a big deal about it. And Sean, is that why you came in town? Where's Sean at? He went out. I think he came in for Mother's Day. So usually I know what's going on with Sean because he calls me a couple of times a week and he surprised me. So he surprised mom and he surprised me, but good to have Sean and others. Don't forget to pray for all the folks we have sick, a lot of folks on the prayer list. Don't forget to keep them in prayer. She actually behaved herself when she was here. I was just asking Nick how long they'd been married, and it was 29 years yesterday was their anniversary. You young folks that are here, be very careful. It's only as easy to chase off after a girl or a guy and to get attached before you know the real character. And the problem with that is, then you find out the real character after you get married, and then you have to have a decision, do I live with this mess for the rest of my life or not? And that's not the way a marriage is supposed to be. The Bible says that when a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing. And there are some women that are a good thing and a great thing. There's some that are not. There's some men the same way. When Patti was in Bible college, she was engaged. You was engaged, right, Patti? Engaged to another fella. But some of her counselors told her that was not the right fella. She listened, and guess what she found? The right fella. I can't imagine what Nick would be like without Patty, and I can't imagine now what Patty would be without Nick. and we wouldn't have the two young ladies that we have as well. So again, you young folks, be careful. It's always in your mind that you want to hurry and get into marriage and chase some girl or some guy. Make sure that they're in the will of God, they're doing the work of God, they're faithful to the things of God, because again, they're half of your children. I mean, they donate, I mean, whether it's dad or mom, and then again, a big part of the raising. Again, I can't say enough for Mother's Mothers, thank you so much for being here today. Brother Nick has been a missionary now for, him and Patty have been down in Mexico City for 25 years. His church has been, I was able to get to see his church this last summer. And again, it was such a blessing to be in his church and meet his folks. He's got some really sweet people. And I can tell you they love these two folks a bunch. And again, the reason they do that is because these two young folks have given their lives to the people and they realize how much Nick and Patty love them. But again, don't ever forget to pray for our missionaries. Now, with Nick and Patty, we find out what's going on because Brother and Miss Miller can tell us. So we know quicker. But some missionaries, we don't find out until we get a letter a month or two later. So that's why you ought to always pray for them, whether you know what's going on in the field or not. But glad to have Brother Nick today. He's going to, again, hope you have your King James Bible because that's what we use around here. So pull the King James Bible out, set up, pay attention. Please don't go to sleep. Make sure your phone is off. And again, listen and you hear the word of God preached this morning. Thank you, Brother Block. Well, it is a real blessing to be here this morning and thank you, Brother Nichols, for allowing me to preach this morning. It's not easy to give up your pulpit whenever on a Sunday, especially Sunday morning, and thank you. And we just want to say thank you to everyone for your prayers for us and for Natalie especially. And in the Sunday school hour, I was given a little update that she is starting to feel a little bit better and we're thankful for more better days than there are bad days. And the medicine, she's in the best hands there with the doctors and things like that. Things have changed here in the United States as far as trying to get appointments and things like that. Down there, if she needed to see a specialist or something, the doctor leaves for a minute, goes down the hallway, talks to another doctor friend of his and says, can you see my patient? And they say, well, after this, we'll get you scheduled and all that. And it's just a real blessing, but you know, just to let you know, it's God that opens all these doors. It's God that, He moves mountains, but prayer moves God. And so we're just so thankful for your prayers. and we were gonna drive up this, we had planned, we had it planned that we were gonna drive up, but the embassy put out, we drove up last year, things went well, we didn't have any problems whatsoever, and as things were going well, we made plans that we were gonna drive up here, but the things have gotten so much worse between Monterey and the border here that the embassy has the highest alert not to travel to the border. So Mexico City is located 12 miles into the interior, if you're driving, of Mexico, Mexico City, and I'm sorry? 12 hours, what did I say? 12 hours, sorry. 12 hours, okay, good. See, most of those gray hairs that Patty has, they're from me, okay? So, making sure I say things right from the pulpit. So, but I appreciate that. 12, it takes 12 hours to drive to Mexico City from Laredo. And that stretch between the border and Monterey is just a really bad area right now with the drug cartels and all that. So just keep praying for Mexico, amen? I know that with President Trump coming in and all that, he cut off a lot of their money, shutting the border down, and I'm glad that the border is shut down. The people in Mexico, Latin America, they're hungry for the gospel. They are hungry for the gospel. If someone's wondering, I don't know where God wants me to go, go to Latin America, anywhere in Latin America, just find a place. They wanna hear about the Lord. They're tired of being lied to all these years through Catholicism, false religions and all that. They just wanna see what the Bible says. It's a blessing to see people getting saved. We were down, I was down, had the privilege of preaching in Paraguay back in February. And I'm telling you, that conference that we have down there, there was a couple of men that came down from Brother Wynn's church, and all they did was go soul winning, inviting people to the conference and things. We had over 300 people that were saved in just a couple days. during that conference and we had 30 people surrender to serve the Lord in full-time service. Latin America is wide open for the gospel. So I mean, and I mean, the fishing is so good. God is sending the fish into the boat, amen. He's sending fish here to the United States and there are people all around us that need the gospel. So that's a blessing, amen. Yesterday was our anniversary, but also yesterday was Patty's birthday. If you get a chance, go and say happy birthday to Patty, amen. And it's a real blessing that she's put up with me for 29 years. And I'm so happy that the Lord has brought us together. God gave me the right lady, the right woman for my life. And it's still questionable whether she got the right guy or not, but the Lord is good, amen. And please continue to pray for Natalie. And the real blessing is she's coming up here. She'll be here a week from Tuesday. I think she's coming in and we're excited about both the girls being here at the same time. And Melanie's gonna come from North Carolina and we'll spend some time together and then we'll be headed back to Mexico. But please pray for all that to happen, and God is good, amen? Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, happy Mother's Day, what a joy. Those plants, I'm not good with plants either, Brother Block, but mothers, it's a real blessing to celebrate today. I wrote my mom this morning and said, happy Mother's Day, this afternoon I'll give her a call. But it is a blessing to pick up a phone and to call and have them answer on the other end. And just the note that I sent her this morning saying happy Mother's Day, that was a real blessing to see a response to that. And it's a real blessing. So happy Mother's Day to all the moms. If you do have your Bible with you, please turn with me if you would to Proverbs chapter number one. Proverbs chapter number one and verse number eight. And I'd like to give you something here from the Bible. Proverbs chapter number 1 and verse number 7. We'll start with verse number 7, okay? And if you would please stand for the reading of God's Word. The Bible says here, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother. For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head and chains about thy neck. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for today. at least one day out of the year that we can celebrate mom. Lord, I pray and ask heavenly father that your hand would be with us not just today but every day that we'll celebrate mom and always love her and be appreciative of of who she is and and what she's the sacrifices that have been made in our lives in her life for us, and I thank you for each mom that's here today. I pray that your hand would be with each one of us today. Help us that we would find something in your word to chew on this week, that we could apply to our lives to make us a better Christian, Heavenly Father, that we would walk out of these doors a different person. Thank you so much for your blessings. In your precious name we pray, amen. You may be seated. The Bible says here, my son, hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law of thy mother. I'd like to give you something today, preach about this subject. Mom, the teacher of light in the home. If you would, turn with me to Proverbs chapter number six and give you some verses here. Proverbs chapter number six and verse number 20. The Bible says here, my son, keep thy father's commandments and forsake not the law of thy mother. We're seeing that verse again, it's being repeated. Bind them continually upon thine heart and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee. When thou sleepest, it shall keep thee. And when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light. and the reproofs of instruction are the way of life. The Bible says here, now if you would, if you look up here at verse number 20, the Bible says here, my son, keep thy father's commandment. And then under here in verse number 23, for the commandment is a lamp. So the father is as if he's the lamp in the house of the home. And then it says, forsake not the law of thy mother And if you'll go down to verse number 23, the Bible says here, and the law is light. Now let me show you something here. The lamp, if you can just picture what a lamp, and a lamp does not work unless it has oil. These old lamps, we had a church, we started a church out of our church, and it's going very strong today. But when they started that church, there was no electricity in the area where they were at. And the services, we had lamps, like these old lanterns. And first it started with car batteries that were running the lights that were in there. Because when it was dark, I mean, you couldn't see anything unless you had light. So we used batteries. And so the pastor said, Brother Ephraim, He said, now when they go out, we'll start the lamps, okay? So when the battery died, then we started the lamps. And there were lamps hanging on the walls so that we could see inside the service. One time, Brother Fisk, C.W. Fisk was there preaching. And I was translating for him, but we were holding the candle and we didn't have the fancy cell phones at that time. We were holding a candle, reading God's word from a candlelight. And let me say this about those lamps with oil. If those lamps don't have oil in them, there's not gonna be any light. And listen, the husband, the man of the home is that lamp. And if we're not full of oil, which is a picture of the Holy Spirit, we need to be spirit-filled men, amen? For the home to function, we need men. I think today, in today's society, I was talking to Brother Nichols and, you know, I was saying, what's wrong with the guys today? What in the world? And he gave me a real good answer. And I think that the feminist movement has really destroyed a generation of men. I really believe that. And I mean, ladies and men that are in here, moms and dads, let the boys get dirty. Let them bleed a few times, amen? Patty said, I'm glad we didn't have boys. I don't know if I could put up with the blood. I said, I can, that's no problem, amen? We could do that. We could do that. And we thought Melanie was a boy. We thought she was gonna be a boy. We didn't wanna know until she was born. It was gonna be Nicholas, amen? But then she turned out to be a Melanie, okay? But anyway, so I mean, I didn't have any boys, but I taught our girls to shoot and things like that. They liked being in the woods and stuff like that. And they can shoot pretty good and all that, but listen. Fellas, teach your boys to be young men, amen? Let them get roughed up a little bit, get out there, let them get dirty, amen? Take them along with you, be rough with them here and there, are you with me? Because I mean, you got boys today, they break a fingernail and they're screaming and crying and all that. I think that's the direction that the feminist movement has gone. So let me say this, it doesn't matter what the way of the world is, it's God's way, amen? Dads, we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Because if we're not, that lamp will not show any light. There will be no light. And mom is supposed to be the light in the home. The Bible says here in verse number 20, verse number 20, my son, keep thy father's commandment and forsake not the law of thy mother. And then verse number 23, talking about the law of thy mother, for the commandment is a lamp, the dad, And the law is light. You see, mom is the teacher of light in the home. She's the light that's in that home. And that light will not happen unless the men are filled with the Holy Spirit. We've got to be filled with the Holy Spirit. You see, the purpose of the home is that it glorifies God. Everything that we do must glorify God. 1 Corinthians chapter number 10. 1 Corinthians chapter number 10. We can be great people. The idea is not just to raise our children that they'll turn out good. No, we're supposed to raise children that they'll turn out godly, that they'll love Jesus, amen? And that's an important thing, 1 Corinthians 10, 31. The Bible says here, 1 Corinthians 10, 31, the Bible says here, Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. You see, Jesus is coming back soon. Amen? He's coming back. And we've got to be ready for Him. Is your family ready for Him? I'm talking about the whole home. Moms, you play a vital part in this. I understand. Dad's working, gone a lot for work or whatever. And who's in the home? When my mom and dad got married, and I say my dad, I'm talking about my stepdad. My mom, as a single mom, well, what happened was my brother was born, he was three years old, then I was born, I was two years old, and then my sister was a year old, and then our baby sister was born. I mean, four kids from three to just born. And then my dad, my blood father, leaves us. And then he would come back every now and then only for the police to drag him off to go to jail. He spent time in jail, in prison, and all that. And I think that's what sparked me to be a policeman whenever I was little. I mean, I thought, man, these policemen, they come in and they help homes. They help families. They're a blessing. They took out the menace, the person that was causing so many problems and hurt and all that. And they came and they helped. And I just remember looking at their guns, too. I'd say, wow, that's a cool-looking gun on his side right there, as they're taking my dad out in handcuffs. And my stepfather came in many years after this, and he loved my mom, but he had to love us, too. Four kids that were, we were something else. I was a handful when I was a kid. And I'll just speak for myself, I know that. But he had to take on, he took on our mom, a single mom, with four kids. And I mean, we were problematic. And I mean, that's love, amen? But when he came in, things changed in our home. We began to see order in our home. And he was a good man. He brought in character and order in our home. Things changed drastically for us. But I'll tell you, whenever he told my mom, he said, whenever we get married, you are gonna stay at home. These kids need their mother. I think that was the best thing that ever happened to us. We were dirt poor, but he said, I don't care how poor we are, those kids need their mom in the home. And I don't care what society says, mom is vital in the home. And this is what God is saying. He's saying that the mom is light, the law is light. And moms, whatever we do, I mean, whatever you do, Do all to the glory of God. Raise those kids for the glory of God. Raise those kids that they love Jesus. And maybe your kids are gone and the decisions that they make after they're gone, it's on them. But whatever you have, any type of influence, use it for the glory of God. Help those grandchildren out, and the great-grandchildren as well. Be consistent with the Lord. I have some characteristics of a home that glorifies God. The home is where the presence of God dwells. Look with me, if you would, in Exodus chapter number 33. Exodus chapter number 33. The Bible says here in Exodus chapter number 33 and verse number 12. This is Moses and Exodus 33 and verse number 12. The Bible says here, Oh, I'm in Genesis, good, and I'm like, whoa, where did I end up here? Okay, Exodus, chapter number 33 and verse number 12, the Bible says here, and Moses said unto the Lord, see, See, thou sayest unto me, bring up this people, and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. "'Now therefore, I pray thee, "'if I have found grace in thy sight, "'show me now thy way.'" Moses wasn't saying, show me my way, no, show me your way. Show me your way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest. And he said unto him, if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up. Hence, Moses is saying to God, if you're not gonna go with us, if your presence is not gonna be with us, we're not going anywhere. We're gonna stay right here. You see, we don't wanna do anything without the presence of God in our life. But a home that glorifies the Lord, that has the characteristics of glorifying the Lord, a home that glorifies the Lord is a home where the presence of God is. We must fight to do everything we can to keep God's presence in our homes. Amen? Ladies and moms, prayer warriors for your kids and for your home, for your family. Men, let me say this, we need to be the prayer warriors for our home. We need to fight for our families, our marriages, and our children. And Mom is the key person there that gives light to the kids. Dad says, the ship is going this way, we're going to do this, we're going to be in church on Sunday, amen? We're going to be in church on Sunday morning, Sunday night. Sunday school, Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, we're gonna go soul winning. And the mom says, okay, this is how we're gonna do it. This is what it is. This is the law, amen? And this is how it's gonna be done. But today, I think a lot of people will fight against what dad wants to do. And fight against what dad says, hey, listen, this is what the Bible says. We need to fight for God's presence in our homes. God's presence brings joy. Booze does not bring the joy. Skipping church does not bring joy. Living like the world does not bring joy in our home. Moses didn't want to go anywhere without God. You and I shouldn't want to go anywhere without God, amen? In the morning, the first thing we ought to do is just get him online, amen? Wake up and pray to the Lord. But too many times we wake up and this is the first thing we get a hold of. Instead of getting a hold of God in the very beginning of our day and keeping God online all day, amen? Listen, a home that glorifies God won't go anywhere unless God is in it, amen? Listen, where the Bible, where the presence of God is, a home that glorifies God is a home where the Bible is read and obeyed. where we trust God, where we confide in Him. We get direction from Him. Look, if you would, over here in Joshua. Joshua chapter number one. The Bible says here, now this is a scripture song that I learned while I was in Bible college. And it says here, it goes like this. I'm not a good singer. I get in trouble when I sing. But Patty did let me in the choir at our church there in Mexico. I feel like that's a great honor, amen? But the Bible says here, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein. For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage. Be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed. For the Lord thy God is with thee, whithersoever thou goest. You see, a home that glorifies God will have the presence of God and where the Bible is read and obeyed in the home, amen. Look at this verse if you would. Psalm chapter number one, the Bible says here in Psalm chapter number one and verse number one, the Bible says in Psalm one, one, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, which bringeth forth his fruit in his season. His leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. You want your kids to prosper? Have God's presence in your home, amen? and read God's word, study God's word, obey God's word, be faithful to church where we can hear God's word. The Bible says, faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Normally in the Bible, in the New Testament, where the word and hearing by the word of God The word of God, the word word is usually pronounced, or is the Greek word logos. But in that verse, in Romans chapter number 10, in verse number 17, it's not the word logos, it's the word that means in Greek, the proclaimed word of God. We need to listen to the preaching of God's word, be under the preaching of God's word. I mean, when we get in the car and we come to church, like as if it's a social meeting or something, we come to church, we've done our duty before God, now let's go on home and get in the car and don't live for the Lord, no. Whenever we have God's presence, we wanna take Him with us everywhere we go. We get in the car and we say, you know what? There's some things I gotta change, amen? There's some things, personal decisions we gotta make every time God's word is being preached, amen? Proclaimed. And moms are a vital part of that. keeping things in order in the home. You know, that's why moms are smarter, you know? You didn't hear this before. I don't know if you've heard this or not, but this is the mom test, okay? This mom was saying, I was walking with my five-year-old daughter, and she picked something up off the ground and started putting it in her mouth. I took the thing from her and asked her not to do that. My daughter says, why? She says, Why, mom? And mom responds, because it's been on the ground and you don't know where it's been. It's dirty and probably has germs on it. My daughter looked at me with absolute admiration and asked, Mom, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart. And I thought quickly, the mom, she says, I thought quickly and replied, All moms know this stuff, it's on the mom test. And mom says, you have to know it or they don't let you be a mom. And we walked along in silence for about two or three minutes, and she was evidently pondering this new information that she got, my daughter. And she says, oh, mom, I get it. She beamed, so if you don't pass the test, you have to be the dad. Mom says, exactly. Have you noticed that moms are usually a lot smarter? I hate to admit it, but really, that's the truth. Why? Because they are vital in the home. There are women that gave up careers to have children and have a home and to raise those children. And this world, the world looks at a mother who wants to do something like that and says, why would you throw away all that you've gained, all that you've accomplished? Why would you throw that away? It's not throwing it away, it's an investment. We don't, you know, I tell our people there in Mexico, we don't know if a future president of Mexico is sitting in the midst of our church. We don't know, someone that'll turn that country around. We don't know if that person exists in our church or not. But moms gotta be faithful to raise them up, to honor God, no matter what they do, because it's God who opens those doors. People rely on the education. Oh no, they gotta get a degree. Let me say this. Some people give up God to get that degree. I say, don't give up God. If you're gonna get a degree, if you're not called into the ministry, get the degree, but don't give up on God. We were knocking doors out in Kansas, and we went to a campus. The church there, they go to the campus every now and then to go soul winning on Thursday nights. And so, Patty and I, we went out there with them, and the young man that went with me, he's now a missionary in Sudan. And he and his family, he was single back then, but anyway, we were witnessing to these college students that were on campus and a young man walked up to us and we started witnessing to him. And I had my Bible there and I asked him, I said, if you were to die today, are you 100% sure you'd go to heaven? And he said, you know, it's funny because I used to believe all that until I got into college. You see, they washed their brains into a satanic. I mean, good night, they had to arrest a mayor in Newark or somewhere like that. I mean, that's satanic. You're trying to rescue people that are criminals, that rape children, murder people, and all that. It's just satanic. This world is going crazy. Lester Roloff, Brother Lester Roloff said, America, an insane asylum run by the inmates. I believe that's true. I mean, how long ago did he say that? How much more true is it today? I mean, we've gotten so far away from God, but I hope that our homes and moms will start getting back to God. I hope that we'll make an effort to fight for our homes and our families. Who's the key to a home that glorifies God? It's mom. It's mom, she's key. Now I'm gonna say this, mom is key, but without the lamp, without dad, and no oil, that's not gonna happen. So, but she is key. You see, dad has to be the leader in the home. And there's too many, too many men are AWOL today. First, 2nd Timothy, 2nd Timothy, if you would, 2nd Timothy chapter number one, 2nd Timothy chapter number one. I'd like to show you these verses here. Be a help and a blessing. The Bible says here in verse number one, 2nd Timothy chapter one, verse number one, Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life, which is in Christ Jesus. To Timothy, my dearly beloved son, grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. I thank God whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience. Without ceasing, I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day, greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy. The Bible says here, when I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith, "'unfiend faith that is in thee, "'which dwelt first in thy grandmother, Lois, "'and thy mother, Eunice.'" I wanna say Eunice, but it's Eunice. "'And I am persuaded that in thee also.'" You see, the faith that was in his grandmother, Lois, and in his mother, you see, that was passed on to Timothy. I'm so thankful for Timothy. When that Timothy was a little baby, they didn't know who he was gonna be. They didn't understand how he was gonna be used in a great and mighty way that will affect eternity. You and I, we don't know what we have in our homes, but what we do know is that we need to bring them up in the word of God. We need to help them and love the Lord. Mom, you're very key to that. Here are two ladies, grandma and mom, that made a difference in this young man's life. We don't know if there's an evangelist that's in this crowd right now, in this group of people. Maybe they're over in the children's church. I don't know that God wants to raise up to turn America towards God. We don't know that, but what we do know is that we need to give, moms need to give light to their kids, amen, to their children, to their home. I'm gonna give a story here of a lady in our church today. The first Sunday of every month we go soul winning and we go street preaching close to where our church is. There's a market there, literally thousands of people come into this market. And we preach from under a tree on the corner, and people are going by. And I mean, it's the biggest turnout that we have of our soul winning, church-wide soul winning. I mean, we have so many people that go out there, pass out gospel tracts. We literally pass out thousands of tracts in this market. Many, many, many people have trusted Christ as their personal savior. So one Sunday we were out there, this was years ago. I'm talking at least 20, 22 years ago, something like that, 22, 23 years ago. Well, we finished preaching out there, then we went to church after that, and in the evening service, and that's what we do. Now what we do is the Sunday mornings, after the Sunday morning service, we go out there, go soul winning, go street preaching, and after that, the men in the church that go street preaching preach in our church, and it's helped them a lot, and it's been a real blessing to do that. And so anyway, a lady picks up a track off the ground about, this was probably 22 years ago, 23 years ago. She picks up a track off the ground and takes it to her niece, Monica. And she says, Monica, here's a Christian church, why don't you go visit them? And so Monica, by the way, that track was printed here at Liberty Baptist Church. Brother Price printed those tracks for us. And what's interesting is it was brother Price and his wife, Mrs. Price, when they were bus captains and working on the bus route, picked up Patty's brother and sister on the bus route. Through the bus route, listen to this. I mean, through the bus route, Patty's mom and dad got saved. And then Patty came to a Joe Boyd revival and Joe Boyd was able to win her to the Lord. Isn't that something? So the man that started in the life of my family printed these gospel tracts for us. We took them to Mexico and we're giving them out. And I mean, it's a blue tract, just like the Liberty Blue Tract. but it's small and in Spanish. So anyway, it's different, but it's blue. And so she held that track up and she said, is this the church? I said, yes, ma'am, it sure is. She was the first one there on Wednesday night after that Sunday that we were out street preaching. So she said, is this the church? I said, yes, it is. So she sat through the service. After the service, her name is Monica. Patty led her to the Lord after the service. And so she came up to me and she says, I got saved. I trusted Christ as my savior. And she said, what do I do next? And I said, well, the next thing you need to do is get baptized. She said, can I do that on Sunday? I said, yes. She said, can I bring a visitor? I said, yes. So she brought her mom, Adela. Adela came and got saved. And Patty, I believe she won her to the Lord also. And so Adela got saved and baptized also, and through Adela, so she has another daughter, her name is Diana, and her son-in-law, Alberto, and they had two kids. And so Adella would bring the two kids to church. I mean, they were a handful. You talk about boys, those guys were boys. And I mean, they were boys. I mean, these hairs that I have that are gray, just a couple, they have their names on them, okay? So anyway, she faithfully brought those boys to church. She wanted them to have God's influence in their life. And then while they were home, she did the best she could to have a godly influence on their lives. So Deanna came to church one time, she came during our VBS, Vacation Bible School, she came and got saved. But she couldn't come to church because her husband wouldn't let her. Now he'd let the boys come, but not her. So anyway, Deanna, she had her daughter, her name is Ami, and Ami, when she was born, Deanna came to church with her mom, and it was an off day, it was like Tuesday in the afternoon, and she said, And Adela says, Pastor, can you pray for my new granddaughter? And I said, yeah. So we came in in secret and prayed for their granddaughter, her granddaughter. Well, and while I was praying for her granddaughter, I prayed that God would save her husband and would save Deanna's husband, Alberto. And so, Alberto, we'd been praying for Alberto for like five years. So I prayed for Alberto, that he would be saved. And he ended up getting saved. And Diana and Alberto were our first graduates from our institute. I mean, they were living in a, oh, Union Libre, what's that called? It's, they weren't even married, but they were living together. I can't even think of the name in English, what it is. Shackin' up, okay, and they were shackin' up. And that's good, amen, we're in the South, amen. So they were just shackin' up. And so they said, Pastor, we wanna fix this. And they ended up gettin' married. They got things right as they began to grow in God's word. And then those two boys that gave me all those gray hairs, they're still givin' me gray hairs, but they finally graduated from Bible college. And they're servin' the Lord. Where did it start? Well, it started, I believe, when Brother Price knocked on the door of that home over there. You see, with God's presence, we have no idea who we're affecting around us. But one thing is, if we're in God's perfect will, and we maintain His presence in our life, it's unlimited what God can do. You see, Brother Price ended up printing that track, and then that track was thrown on the ground, and someone picked that track up, and there's a family serving the Lord faithfully. But you know what? There was a grandmother that was determined that we're gonna make sure God is in this family. And you know, she worked, and it wasn't easy for her to do. She sacrificed, but she did her dead-level best to keep those kids in church. And she prayed for her son-in-law. She prayed for her family. And now there's more that are in the family that are coming to church. Not just them, but more. And these people are reaching more people. but it was because their grandmother was determined that her family's gonna live for the Lord. You see, they'd already messed up quite a bit in their lives. Sinners saved by grace. And by the way, aren't we all sinners saved by grace? You see, that's the grace of God. someone who doesn't know Christ as their personal savior. That's where Adella was, and she found love in God. Because she heard and saw from God's word that Jesus paid the sin debt for us. Because the Bible says, there is none righteous, no not one. All of us are sinners. And there's none that doeth good, the Bible says. But you see, Jesus, He knows our condition. It's hard to admit that we've messed up, we're sinners and all that. It's hard to admit that. But it's the truth. And God knows. And then... When she came to know Jesus as her personal Savior, and she realized that Jesus paid that sin debt, well, she, by faith, trusted Jesus as her personal Savior. And you see, Jesus will save anyone that'll call upon him. The Bible says, for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. There's no doubt that someone would be saved. But all we have to do is admit that we're sinners before him and trust his son to save us. You see, none of us are gonna get to heaven by our own merit, being a member of this church, getting baptized. It doesn't matter what all the other religions say. There's only one name that someone can be saved, and that's the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says in John 3 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. You see he loves us so much And when Adela got a taste of what salvation is, she was a mess. Her family was a mess, a disaster. But you know what? She decided she's gonna live for the Lord. She decided, I'm gonna be that light for my family. And she became that light for her family. And now her family is giving light to other families. That's what God does with us. If you haven't trusted Jesus as your personal Savior, you need to do that today. Don't go out of these doors without trusting Christ as your personal Savior. He wants to save us. July 11, 1993, I trusted Jesus as my personal Savior. Active duty in the United States Air Force. and God saved my soul. Someone took the Bible and showed me how Jesus loves me and how I could trust him as my personal savior. And if you've trusted Jesus as your savior and you haven't been baptized, today would be a great day to do that, Mother's Day. What a wonderful day. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you so much for your goodness and your blessing.
