We thank you for your love and your mercy and your forgiveness of our sins, for your salvation, for your grace. Lord, we pray this morning for our church family. We pray you bless them, each one that's here this morning. Those might not be here because of sickness or illness. We ask you to touch their bodies, raise them up. Be with them, them that attend to their needs. Father, we pray for the services this morning also. It should be with the teachers and the preachers, Lord, as they bring your word to us. Pray you'd guide them and direct their thinking and their thoughts and have them give to us what you'd have us to have. Lord, we pray for our nation this morning and all that's involved there, for our leaders and those that make decisions on our behalf. Pray for Israel this morning that you put your blessings upon them. Lord, be with our doctors and nurses and EMS workers, those that stand ready to take care of us when we have our needs. Be with our police officers. Be with our military. And Lord, this morning we pray that you'd touch the hearts of those that doesn't know you as their Savior, never trusted you as their Savior. We ask that you'd get saved this morning. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Brother Nick, do you need a bottle of water? AI, can you go in the office, grab a bottle of water and bring it in for him? I don't think he wants a drink out of mine. I didn't think I'd see Peter move as fast as I saw him move this week. He was helping me clean on the front porch, and we pulled a, some of you have seen those long cans that you use for wasp spray, but this one wasn't full of wasp, and it wasn't even made for wasp anymore, because somehow during the last, who knows how long, because it's been on the porch here for years, a snake had found that as a home. All that was sticking out was his head and his tail, the rest of it was all coiled up in that, and so, We looked at it, and I shook it out, and it ended up being about five foot long when it finally came out, but it was stuck in that raid can, so I don't know how it got in there and how the bottom came out. But Peter apparently did not want to pet it. I asked him, so I had a great idea. I thought, I could start a new business called Snake in a Can. You've got all kinds of other stuff, so we could have Snake in a Can. You could have a pet snake, and he could live in a can. Hey, you got a bottle of water for this young man? All right, Nick, you ready? Most of you know who Brother Nick is. If you don't know who Brother Nick is, he's one of our missionaries. He married a young lady from our church, which we've forgiven him through the years since he now has been so faithful in the mission field. But Miss Patty, and again, you've been praying for their daughter for quite some time, Miss Natalie. And by the way, keep praying for her. But Mother Nick and Miss Patty have been missionaries down in Mexico for? 25 years, so that's, again, I always appreciate people who are faithful. They've been faithful down there. So again, he's going to come teach in Sunday school. Then after we have a short break, he'll be back in to preach the morning service and then he'll be preaching tonight as well. So again, this is the start of the day for Brother Nick and for us. Again, make sure you grab your King James Bibles, pay attention and listen. Brother Nick. Thank you, Brother Block. Brother Vineyard always accused me of stealing his secretary, and now I'm getting accused of stealing one of the daughters from our church here. Okay, so, well, amen, that's good. Well, It's a real blessing. God's good. Amen. So we want to say happy Mother's Day to all the moms. And seeing all the moms all dressed up pretty today. Mother's Day. Amen. So it's a blessing. We want to say thank you for your prayers for Natalie. She's actually showing some improvement, even though, I mean, it seems like we get her going one thing, you know, but she's got so many things going on with her health. But there is a little bit of an improvement. She went to see a doctor last week and the doctor said, looked at the list of doctors that she has. And he said, boy, you have some really good doctors. And he said, if something was wrong with me, I would want this person checking or taking care of me and things like that. So she's in good hands with the doctors there, but that's because people are praying for us, amen, and praying for her. And we're so thankful for that. And just continue to pray for her. She just has so many things that she has going on. I mean, she has three different autoimmune diseases. And so, So she really needs our prayers. Amen. She has good days and bad days and We just want to see her have more good days. Amen But but anyway, she is starting to show some improvement It seems like these medicines are starting to work and things like that. So we're very thankful for that and I know that many were praying for me about that little, I don't know what to call it, it's like a little machine, but it's been a real help. It was a real miracle. The guy showed up on Monday morning. I was leaving on Monday morning from here back in March, if you remember. And I said, boy, just pray. And so the guy showed up and he said, I've never seen the VA move this fast, you know? And I said, well, I said, I have a lot of people praying. So it's a real blessing and we're very thankful. Just found out about that little thing on Friday. I mean, I think it was on Thursday and then Friday tried to move to get things going there and finding out if I could get it or not. And the Lord was good, amen. He is good all the time. And so Natalie's excited. She's gonna be here a week from Tuesday, I think she's coming in. And Melanie's coming in also. So we'll have both the girls here together. We're just gonna be here for another two weeks or so, but it'll be a real blessing. And we're excited about being here and then the girls being here at the same time. So it's good to be home for a few days. Amen. So things are going very well down there in Mexico. Our church is growing. Our men are preaching. taking care of the services and all that. We had a big day just two weeks ago, two weeks ago today, and I mean, they really had a lot of people there at the church and a lot of kids and things like that, and it was a real blessing. A lot of people saved. I think we had something like 15 first-time visitors two weeks ago, and they got saved. Every one of the visitors got saved that were the adult visitors, and then the kids also. On top of that, we had kids that got saved that were visitors as well. It's a real blessing. God is good, amen. So just continue to pray for the work down there in Mexico as we go forward for the Lord. And we're getting ready, we're gearing up for camps this summer and VBS and all that. So just please pray for all that, that people will get saved and we'll see the Lord's hand in all that. I want you to give you something today. The Bible here in Proverbs chapter number 31, I'd like to go here in verse number 25. I'd like to give this in Proverbs chapter number 31. for all the ladies that are here, whether you're a mom or not. This is something here that when you are a young lady without being married, you're not married or single, and you see, God wants you to live for Him. Not just the moms, God wants all the young ladies to live for him. He wants all the young men to live for him as well. And it should be in our heart to look for the Lord, to search for the Lord, and to seek the Lord with all of our hearts. Proverbs 31, 25, the Bible says here, strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household. and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excelest them all. Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain. but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates. I used to have a little thought here this morning for the Sunday school hour. And I know you're used to brother Taylor and man, he can really get in there and dissect the word of God. I mean, just a real blessing. And don't think I'll come close to that. But I have something here. I think it'll be a blessing to you. And we'll go to the Lord in prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for your goodness and your blessings. Thank you for all that you do for us. Thank you for all the mothers that are here today. The grandmothers, Lord, I pray and ask, Heavenly Father, that there be an extra special blessing for each one, Heavenly Father, Thank you for a day that we get to celebrate Mother's Day. Thank you for the blessings that we have here in this place. And thank you for all the ladies that have been example to my wife and to our girls all these years. We love you and thank you for all your blessings. Your precious name we pray, amen. Right here, I just wanna just start off by saying that Patty and I are so thankful for the ladies and the women here at Liberty Baptist Church that fear the Lord. We're just very thankful for the example that you've put before us, amen? For my wife, whenever she was a teenager here, have been ladies in this church have been an influence in her life. Sometimes people don't even realize the effect that you have over someone else's life. But one day when we get to heaven, that'll all come clear. But what we ought to do is just look for it while we're here on earth and enjoy it and say, God is so good, amen, to put so many faithful people in our paths. and to be an example to us, amen? There was a pastor, you don't even know, you don't even realize that you have an effect on somebody. There's a pastor, he's a good friend of mine, and we've preached together a few times, and he said to me, he said, he said, you know why my shoes are shiny? And I said, because you shined them and he said no he said because I've seen your shoes and I think that's the way it should be and so you don't even realize how people look at you and you have an effect in their lives And whether it's a small thing or a big thing, we're just very thankful for all the ladies here at Liberty Baptist Church. Amen? Faithful examples of God's truths. Just living out what God says to do. Amen? We're so thankful. And women who love the Lord. Our girls have learned a lot from your example. Patty has learned a lot from your example as well. I hear stories, Patty tells me stories about ladies that have really made some impacting statements in her life, have really helped her along, guided her. in the right direction, in God's direction, and that's such a blessing, amen? It used to be that everyone would help raise your kids, amen? It used to be like that. This is just free, okay? I'll just say this, you know, like the neighbor, he'll say, hey, does your dad know you're hanging around? Does your dad know who you're hanging around with? You know? And they'll go to your mom and dad and they'll say, you know, that's not a good company there, you know? And I'm like, how did you know about that? Well, people help each other. It used to be like that. Everybody now, it seems like everybody's to themselves. Everybody's to themselves. And if it was today, it would be like, okay, your son's not hanging around with some good people over there. Who do you think you are? That's the kind of society that we live in right now. And I don't think that's good. I think how it used to be was very good, amen? And helping each other and being a blessing to each other. Or something like this, does your dad know that you smoke cigarettes back at the cemetery? And what? Who found out about that? Well, the neighbors see things like that. And it used to help raise the kids, amen? And we used to help each other. And I think in the Christian life, we should help each other, amen? I think that Christians, we should be helping each other and doing right for the Lord, amen? And encouraging each other. The world is enough to kick you down, turn on the news to depress you and everything else that's going on. Although the news has been a little more exciting, amen? You know, the tariffs are starting to work, right? I mean, even the Pope is made in America. And so anyway, so that was free, amen? But anyway, listen, you and I, we need to, just women, okay? A woman that feareth the Lord shall be praised. You know, here on earth, there's very little praise on this earth, there really is. And but a woman that feareth the Lord, someone who's living for the Lord and who brings up their children for the Lord, who raises their children for the Lord, that woman will be praised. Amen. And it's a blessing. I'll show you something here. How does that happen? Well, it doesn't just become, you don't just become a godly mother once you have a child. No, it's a process, amen? It's a process to live for the Lord even before you get married. I wanna show you something here in Deuteronomy chapter number six. Deuteronomy chapter number six. going to Bible college, being in conferences and things like that. People have used these verses here. Mostly they have used these verses that are, let me see here, verse number six through nine have always been really majored on that I've heard in teaching and preaching and all that. And they're very good verses, but the verses right before it really set the stage for what the reason for verses 6 through 9 are. Look at this. Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither thou go to possess it. that thou mightest fear the Lord thy God to keep all his statutes, his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life. All the days of thy life. What that's saying is there's no vacation from teaching kids, grandkids, great grandkids. It's until Jesus comes, amen? Or until our days end here on earth. I mean, it's till Jesus comes. Or till we end our life here on earth. That thy days may be prolonged, okay? Your days and my days will be prolonged when we do this. Look at this. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it. that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee in the land that floweth with milk and honey. Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest in the way, and when thou liest down. And when thou risest up, and thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes, and thou shalt write them upon the post of thy house, and on thy gates. The Bible is saying here that we've got to take advantage of every moment that we have to teach the children, amen? Teach our children, not just children, but grandchildren as well. And in the message that I'll be preaching in the morning service, I'll be talking a little bit about that. But right here we have, you see a woman that feareth the Lord, there's no idleness in her. There shouldn't be any idleness in any of the moms we have today, amen? Moms need to stay on top of things, amen? With the kids. Listen, dads, we need to be in there too, amen? Are you with me? I think a lot of dads are AWOL today, and in the lives of their home, their family, their kids. and all that, I understand we get busy and everything, I totally understand that, but we can't be AWOL, amen? We gotta make sure that the ship is going straight, amen? But ladies, here, there's no idleness in this woman that feareth the Lord. There's no idleness, there's no time where you just sit back and you just relax and relax. Just let everything pass by. No, it's a thing. It's something that has to happen from day one until the Lord takes us out, amen? And it's always, always gonna be like that. And we need to be an example of someone who loves God. Moms, a woman that feareth the Lord shall be praised. But you know, in the description here in Proverbs, God is showing us what a woman that loves the Lord, woman that fears the Lord, her characteristics. There's no idleness in her. She's a hard worker. There's kindness in her words. She's loving. She takes care of her family. She's on it. But the thing about it is, she's showing her family, teaching her family, and being an example of someone who loves God. Amen? Be an example of someone who loves God. with all thine heart. The Bible says that we need to love the Lord, our God, with all of our heart. The first and great commandment. Why is it the first and great commandment? Because it's mentioned more times than any other commandment. And why is loving your neighbor the second commandment? Because it's the second most mentioned commandment in the Bible. You know what the third most mentioned commandment is? the Great Commission, five times, God says, to reach other people, amen? But we need to be an example of someone who loves God with all their heart, all their soul, and all their might. You see, hopefully this happens before you get married. After I got saved and I started living for the Lord, of course I wanted to get the wife that was going in the same direction that I was headed. I was going to be a missionary in Mexico, I knew that. But not just any woman, I wanted someone that loves the Lord like I love the Lord. I want someone that wholeheartedly, with all their heart, they love the Lord, with all their soul and all their might, someone that loves the Lord like that. And so I just prayed and asked God and said, Lord, please. And the Lord put in my path And so, now I don't know if you all knew about this. I know some people do. Brother Taylor, he's not here, but he sang in our wedding. And Brother Nichols, he said, when we were in Dr. Vineyard's office, just before the ceremony was gonna start, we were talking in there. And so Brother Nichols, he asked me, If he said, now, whenever I say, therefore, what the Lord have joined together, let no man put asunder. Do you think you can hold the kiss kissing Patty during that whole time? I said, yes, sir. Now, we didn't have any practice doing that. OK, I'm just going to let you know our first kiss was at the altar. And we want our daughters, their first kiss to be at the altar also. We were just talking, there's a young lady that a guy broke up with her. And let me say this, we got a problem with the young men in our society, in our Christian circles. I mean, there's a big problem. Because he broke up with her because her standards were too high. Good night. I mean, that's the kind of woman you want to marry. Amen. That's that's who you want to marry. That's who you want to spend the rest of your life with. Someone who loves the Lord. Amen. And but anyway, I mean, I don't know what's wrong with the young men in our society today. The young men in our Christian circles today and I mean, I think it's a heart problem. I think it's something that they just, I don't know what it is. But one thing is, it's obvious that they don't love God like they're supposed to. They don't love God like they're supposed to. Well, anyway, the Lord put Patty in my path and I just wanted to make sure that this young lady is going in the same direction that I am. And she wanted to make sure this young man was going in the same direction that she was as well. And the Lord made that union with us, amen? And by the way, that first kiss, preacher, Dr. Vineyard made a rule after that kiss because he said, no more of that, amen? He told the other weddings after that, he said, no more like that. It should be, what, how did he say? It should be sincere and impressionable, right? Or something like, what? brief and impressionable, something like that. Well anyway, for the first one we thought we'd knock it out of the park, amen? So anyway, well I thought I would, amen? I don't know Patty, she didn't know that part, the conversation that we had in the office there. But I'll tell you this, what a joy, what a blessing. And you see, young ladies, before you get married, God's gonna give you someone who walks like you do, amen? He's gonna give you someone like that. And being a mother starts way before you even get married. where you start applying God's principles and falling in love with the Lord and maintaining a relationship with the Lord. Then when you learn to love the Lord with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul and all your might, you see, then you become an excellent teacher of how to love God, amen? Proverbs 22, six, the Bible says here, Proverbs 22, six, Proverbs 22.6. The Bible says here in Proverbs 22.6, it says here, train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old, he will not depart from it. What way should he go? What is the way here? Look over here in Isaiah 7.15, Isaiah 7.14. We'll just look at 14 also because I love that verse. Isaiah 7.14, the Bible says here, He said, the Bible says here in Isaiah 7, 14, therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel, which meaning God with us, amen? Here on earth, God with us. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil and choose the good. For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings." Now, the Bible says here that as a mom and as parents, we're supposed to train our children up in the way they should go. talking about teaching them to reject whatever is evil and accept that which is good. Accept truth and reject evil, reject sin. How do we do that? By loving the Lord, amen? Choosing God, I mean, having God's presence in our lives and in continuing to have God's presence in our lives. Doing right, God and doing right, become the most important thing. When God and doing right are the most important things in our lives, that's when God really begins to work in our lives as far as teaching our children. For example, God says, I'm going to give you an example. He sent his son to be an example for us. of someone who loves God with all his heart, all his soul, and all his mind. Someone that chooses right every time. Can you imagine that? Being sinless without staying in your life? We just can't imagine that. We can't fathom that. But you see, our Savior was sinless, amen? He went to the cross without any sin. That's the only way he could be the Savior, amen? That's the only way that he could be the Lamb of God, by going to the cross without sin in his life, without stain, without any imperfections. He went as a perfect man there. But you see, he was an example of someone who depended on God. I mean, he was God in the flesh, right? I mean, 100% God, 100% man, and how much did he pray? How much did he depend on his father in prayer? And here we are, we're not God in the flesh, are you with me? But how much more should we depend on God in prayer? And Jesus prayed constantly, just an example of someone who loves the Lord. Someone who would be an example to us. But you know what? The woman that feareth the Lord, a woman that feareth the Lord shall be praised. When people see those children, they say, wait a minute, what did you do? Amen? When they see your children, that they honor the Lord, they love the Lord. And I mean, that just doesn't happen today. Are you with me? But it will happen if we love the Lord with all of our heart. And we teach them to love the Lord with all of their hearts as well. What we have to do is reject mediocrity. You see, we'll go back to Proverbs chapter number 31 and verse number 25. Strength and honor are her clothing. You see, someone who is strong, someone who is full of honor, and honor someone who honors another person, someone who is honored, someone that has integrity, someone that does the right thing, just keeps doing right, that's character, amen? And the Bible says here, strength and honor are her clothing. That's what she puts on every day. And she shall rejoice in time to come. She'll rejoice seeing her kids make decisions that please God, amen? That's what we should do. moms that are in here, grandmas that are in here. I mean, some are even great grandmas that are in here. And when you see your children making right decisions that please God, and then you see your grandchildren making decisions that please God, and then you see your great-grandchildren making decisions to please God, That's rejoicing right there. You just say, wow, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. And in the next hour, in the message, I've got a story of a lady of a grandma who is an example there in Mexico. She got saved and trusted the Lord as her savior. She had a rough life, but you know what? She decided she was gonna love the Lord with all her heart, all her soul and all her might, and decided, listen, my life is a mess, but you know what? I can have an effect on my children and my grandchildren. And so she started having an effect on her grandchildren. And I'll tell you about her in the next hour. rejecting mediocrity. You see, this lady rejected mediocrity. She says here, strength and honor are her clothing. That's what she put on every day. Moms, you can't give up. Moms, you have to keep going forward. Moms, you're going to have to stay on it. I just, Natalie, she's there in Mexico right now. Of course, she's with our dog, Toby, okay? So, but we can tell that, well, I know this, but she doesn't have mom there with her. And she'll call, how many times? 10 times a day, probably, she'll call mom. And you see, mom's always there. Mom's always gonna pick up the phone for her. And why? Because we love her, amen? And you see, you can't let up as a mom. You always have to be there. You always have to be there. And moms that love the Lord, they will always be there for their children. They'll always be there. Look at, she openeth her mouth with wisdom. She doesn't run her off her mouth. She doesn't say a bunch of stupid things and insult people and all that. No, no. She uses her mouth with wisdom. And she teaches her children the same. In her tongue is the law of kindness. There's kind words that come out. of her mouth. She looketh well to the ways, she looketh well to the ways of her household and looking to see how things are going, how are the kids doing, and also keeping the house clean, keeping it orderly. That's a full-time job there. I mean, when the girls were little, Patty would, she left one time to go to her grandpa's funeral. And she left me with the girls. How old were the girls back then? Probably what four and six. Okay, and so We had we had What do you call ramen soup a lot and things like that? We didn't eat like we did when mom was home She made some meals for us before she left and and that was wonderful but they went out they they ran out real quick those meals and so anyway We were doing something, we were taking, I thought, you know, they need vitamins and things like that, so vitamin C, it was during the rain season, didn't want them to get sick or anything, so I went and got them some vitamin C, but I didn't know what effervescent, is that what it's called, effervescent? But these things were like, these vitamin C pills were like really big. I thought, wow, those are big, but you guys got to eat them, OK? You're going to eat them. And they're like, what? I said, just chew them up. No spitting it out, OK? No spitting it out. You almost have to threaten their lives. Don't spit that thing out. And so here they are trying to chew that thing, and there is foam coming out of their purple foam coming out of their mouth. And so Patty's like, what kind of vitamins did you give them? And it says effervescent. And I had no idea what that was, amen? But you know what? Things go so much smoother when mom's home. Are you with me? She looketh well to how her house is going. Another thing was when she came, I think it was the same trip. She came home, got off the air, was coming out of the terminal there where You come through customs and then you come out into the population and everybody's there. We had a sign for her. And who was it, Melanie or was it Natalie? Her hair was cut, her bangs were cut off. Right, right, it was me. Well, like I said, things go so much better when mom's home. Amen? She looked at them and she's like, oh, and I thought she'd be so happy to see us, you know? And I'm like, why is she getting me to look like I'm going to kill you after we say our hellos here? You see, when mom's home, things go much smoother. And how much more when mom loves the Lord. How much more when the mom loves the Lord with all her heart, all her soul, and all her might. You know, today moms need to reject mediocrity. I think our society teaches mediocrity. We need to reject mediocrity and live wholeheartedly. We need to reject laziness and embrace diligence. We need to reject wrong and do right till the stars fall. And we need to reject bitterness and love people. We need to reject bitterness, then we need to love people like Jesus loves people. Reject the ways of this world and walk in truth. Look what it says here in 2 John. whatever chapter you want, but verses 1 through 6. The Bible says here, 2 John 1 through 6, the Bible says here, I'll get there myself, 2 John, the Bible says here, the elder unto the elect, lady, and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth. For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us forever. Grace be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father in truth and love. I rejoice greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth. as we have received a commandment from the Father. Now, and now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another." You see right here, there's just, That we should walk in truth, that our children should walk in truth. And this, and this love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, that as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. The Bible says here that we should walk in truth. And how are we gonna do that? How are we gonna teach our children to do that? We have to walk in truth. We have to be an example of someone who loves the Lord with all their heart. I'm not saying someone that's perfect or tries to be perfect or puts up a facade of being perfect. No, we're sinners, amen? That is definitely. And kids and teenagers that are in here, you'll never have a perfect mom, you'll never have a perfect dad. And don't think that the grass is greener on the other side. We're sinners, amen? And nobody is perfect, nobody. And just like our kids aren't perfect either, amen? But I've seen so many kids look at the faults of their parents and say, ah, and they reject God. They reject God because of how their parents reject God. But be an example of the truth. Say, look, I'm not perfect, but I love the Lord, amen? And actually, you don't even have to say that. When you love the Lord, it's just real obvious, amen? Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we love you and thank you for your goodness. And I just pray and ask, Lord, that every mom here, every future mother here would fear you, Heavenly Father, that would love you and that would be praised one day when people see her home, her family. We love you and thank you for your goodness. Thank you. Help us to love you with
