I can't do Robbie's part tonight,
but I can do mine. I was sitting there thinking,
I was hearing everybody singing. I appreciate all these young
people. I appreciate everybody singing. All the testimonies
that we've heard tonight, I really appreciate them. I never had
to be number one in my life. I never had to be Saul. And I
never had to be first in line. I was at a brother's of mine
on Easter Sunday morning, and we was, service was over, and
we was getting in line. They ate breakfast that morning,
and they kept telling me, said, Charlie, they're waiting on you.
I said, honey, I'm used to waiting till last. And that's just the
way I do at the church. I wake to last. I'm the least
among God's people. And that's just the way I feel
about things. And I think that's where God
really wants our mindset is to be least among our brothers and
sisters. And that way, more people get
lifted up, don't they? Amen, and we need that tonight.
And so, there's nothing tonight that God can not and He will
not do for us if we'll just do what He wants us to do tonight.
And it's very important to do that this evening. Over in the
book of Hosea, or however you want to pronounce that, chapter
number eight tonight, I really, I had a couple thoughts in my
heart. I know that Robbie was not going
to be with us for a few days, and you bear with us tonight. I don't know how long I'll be
before you, but I'll be before you as long as it takes. Amen. For the Lord to do what He needs
to do. If it's 20 minutes, that's what it'll be. If it's 10, that's
what it'll be tonight. I don't think that we can put
the Word of God out there and measure it. Amen. Of how much
or how little it takes, but he just takes what he wants. Amen.
And so if you want to stay in tonight, we'll read a few verses
and probably just had to take my time tonight and get into
this thing and dissect and see what we got. But I mean, you
know, when we read this, I want everybody to keep an open mind
spiritually tonight. Amen. And the Bible said in verse
number one, if you're there, say amen. It said, set the trumpet
to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against
the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant
and trespassed against my law. Israel shall cry unto me, my
God, we know thee. And Israel had cast off the thing
that is good. The enemy shall pursue him. And
they have set up kings, but not by me. and they have made princes,
and I knew it not. Of their silver and their gold
have they made them idols, that they may be cut off. Thy calf,
O Samaria, hath cast thee off. Mine anger is kindled against
them. How long will it be ere they
attain to heaven? And it says, from Israel was
it also the workman made it, therefore it is not gone. Let's
read that again. From Israel. Was it also the
workmen made it? Therefore it is not God. But the calf of Samaria shall
be broken in pieces." Maybe one or two more verses. It said,
For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind. It hath no stalk, the bud shall
yield no meal, and if so be it yield, the stranger shall swallow
it up. That's where we'll stop tonight
and you can be seated, but I trust tonight that we've been praying
today and meditating upon the service this evening and that
God would just pass by for a few minutes tonight. I didn't ask
God, I didn't say reveal to me who will be there tonight, that
I can get a message that I think would be fitting for the time.
But we've got to depend on what God brings us tonight. If you
go out in the field, and Brother Darrell, and you've got seed
taters, and you've dissed that field, and you've turned up the
fallow ground, and you dish that field and you've got it laid
out in rows and you take those potatoes, the ones that you've
cut and you've laid down in the ground and you cover it up. My
friend in time, that potato that's been cut or dined, it'll rot
in that ground. and it'll bring forth the fruit
that you put in that ground. Just like coming to the house
of God. Brother, you come to the house
of God. There'll be times that we'll
have to turn the fallow ground. There'll be times that we'll
have to look through the field and get the rocks out. And we'll
have to take the spiritual disc, if you would, and just get that
ground to where we can lay a straight row. Tonight, brother, put the
blinders on, my friend, and go down those rows and begin to
sow. And then we realize that one
planteth and one watereth, but it's God that gives the increase. There's no ability tonight. Me
and brother Robbie Daugherty, I could have cut his pockets
out of his pants tonight and brought them here and the revival
wouldn't be in it. I can cut mine out and the revival
won't be in it. My friend, you can cut yours
out tonight. But the revival ain't in it,
my friend. It's in the Holy Ghost. Amen. Amen. But I thought about this
thought tonight. Brother, casting away our confidence. Brother, today there's a danger.
Amen. Come with me now. I'm going to
take my time. I don't preach like Robbie. I
preach the way God wants me to. My brother Daryl, there's a danger
from coming down to the house of God time after time. And brother, the word of God
being planted into our lives and us denying it and casting
it away, my friend. There's a danger tonight. Amen,
of coming down and God trying to work in our life. But yet
we're like to those ladies there. In Isaiah chapter four verse
number one, they said let us be called by your name. But let
us wear our own apparel and eat our own bread. Amen, that's where
we are today. People come down to the house
of God, now you pray for me. Forever, my friend, I'm gonna
get the laws to come in and be saved and the church has gotta
be what it's supposed to be. Our brother, we're not a greenhouse. Jesus, my friend, our brother,
we're not selecting what we wanna grow. Amen, he said, you say
that it's four months, I believe he said to the harvest. But as
he looked around down there, he looked around at the field
and he said, the harvest is ripe and the labors are few. The harvest,
my friend, it's all around you. When you go down to workplace,
it's there. When you go down at Walmart,
it's there. Amen, it ain't a time, is it,
to cast it off. Amen, just our responsibility
coming down the house of God. Ain't everything there is to
live and write. My friend, we come down here,
and brother, we get cultivated and planted into, amen, but listen,
Jesus, comes down to little, amen, a little tree. And Brother
Darley begins to look at that tree. And that tree looks good. That tree's got leaves. Amen,
that fig tree. But it ain't got no fruit. Amen,
but listen what he said. He's gonna curse that tree. But
Brother, the mercy of God. Amen, that old gardener or whatever.
that one that tended it. Amen, just like the men of God.
Just like the church. Let us tend to it. Amen, let
us dung around it. Amen, that it might bring forth
fruit. Give us time, God. I'm telling
you, brother, God's give us time. He's give us grace. He's give
us mercy, brother Robbie. And what have we done with it? Where are we going? My friend,
have we cast it aside? Have we laid it down? Listen
tonight, don't take it for granted. Take what God gives you and let
it grow in your life. Amen. Amen, I begin to wanna
think about that casting off. Amen, that's the discard as worthless
That's what a lot of people do, my friend. We come down to the
house of God, Brother Herbert to preach, Brother Daryl, Brother
Bill, and maybe one of these young preachers to preach, and
we'll put it off on somebody else, my friend. I'm gonna tell
you tonight, the Word of God's for everyone. In the house of
God tonight, it ain't for you to perk your head up. and begin
to look around and spread the blame on somebody else. But God's
trying to either plow you up, sow in you, my friend. And what
did Paul tell Timothy? He said, hey, he said for us
to be instant in season and out. He said to rebuke, rebuke, didn't
he? And to reprove and exhort. I
tell my church all the time, Hubert, I ain't going to preach
on heaven every time I come to church. I just don't think God
would have it that way. And we're not going to preach
reproof every time we come down at the church. and we're not
going to preach rebuke all the time. Amen. It ain't just the
way the pastor feels today. Amen. But I begin to look at
that covenant right there. A while ago, I noticed some things
down in that covenant, my friend. And I mean, they've took this
out of a lot of churches I've been to. Brother, they don't
believe in a covenant. They don't believe in an agreement
tonight. Amen, it's freelance, brother.
I will come when we want to come. And we'll be faithful when we
want to be faithful. We'll listen when we get ready
to. But pride comes before the fall. Oh, my friend tonight. Amen,
I'm telling you tonight, listen. They claim me great big. with their mouth, but their heart
was far from me. With their mouth they claim that
they know the Lord, but by their action tonight, they don't love
God, my friend. They come to church like everybody
else, amen, but their life don't give no fruit. I'm telling you
tonight, there's gonna be people standing judgment that says,
did we not cast out devils? Didn't we do all these marvelous
works? Didn't I go down to the church
house? Didn't I pay my tithes? Didn't
I wear a dress down to the floor? Didn't I cut my hair off short? Didn't I wear a suit like our
brother Herbert? Our brother dressed like us?
Amen, but God ain't worried about you and another man. He's looking
at you as a woman or a man, a child of God. He's got a back, my friend. according to Malachi of every
remembrance. And he said, hey, they that love
me, I spoke often of me, and I made a book, and I began to
write her down. God knows what you do. Outside
the double door, you're not fooling God. Amen. I feel pretty good. I'm looking at this covenant.
Will not forsake. Hebrews 10.25. Shall not forsake. Do not forsake a similar self
in matter of some else. And brother, I mean you just
go on down there and look. Amen. When you begin to look
at all these things, have we agreed to accept Christian admonition?
Amen. We agree to be corrected. You
hear me tonight. Amen. You know where the church
world is in this country. Nobody wants to be wrong. And
they want Jesus to be politically correct. And He's not politically
correct. Not in the eyes of this world.
But the Bible said He will govern His people. Out with that rod
of iron. Amen, he carried the cross, brother.
He didn't carry it for nothing this evening. He didn't carry
it for you to act like a heathen. Amen, he didn't carry it for
you to come down here and get some kind of cheap grace and
walk out the door and act like the world, listen to the world.
Amen, participate in the world. He didn't send his son down here. Amen, for me and you to trample
all over his blood. Amen, this cheap grace that people's
got won't even keep them coming to the house of God. Amen, ain't
it a shame today that we've cast away our confidence? Amen, in
the book of Hebrews it tells us better than that not to cast
your confidence away, my friend. Hear me tonight. I was coming
down the road and I thought about that. That old car out there's
got a button you can push. Hey, we never had nothing like
that. I could push that button, it'd keep me between the lines,
I had my Bible open. And here I'm on the hook, I'm
confessing tonight. Amen, listen to me. Confess your
faults to man, your sin to God. Ain't I right tonight? I begin
to look at it, and I thought, whoa! Don't cast it away! There's a great reward for you,
dog! Don't cast it away! Listen to
me! Don't cast away what God's trying
to do for you! I ain't never had a time like
I've had in the last 33 years. People get mad at the truth. I had a family leave the church. I told the whole church one Sunday
morning. Michelle, I believe, was telling
about that the other day, and I didn't even have to ask where
it was. I already knew. Hey man, I went down there and I think
it was the 26th chapter, the book of Matthew, where old Judas there, hey man, he
was a money buyer, but brother, he was a thief. And I want you
to know something tonight, the thief come but for the kill to
steal and destroy. Hey man, God didn't put you in
this church to be a thief. and to rob his church and to
rob your brother. Amen, you be honest with yourself.
You don't want God to help you tonight, you be honest with him.
Amen, it don't matter if you wallowed in sin all week, you
be honest with him. When you come out the house of
God, you won't help, be honest with God. Don't go back out and
do it again. Say, God help me out of this
mess, help me that I won't be that lukewarm person that God's
gonna spew out, amen. Hear me tonight. Hey! Amen. Isaiah said them women though,
they said we just want to be called by your name to take away
our reproach. You don't go to church brother
to just take the reproach off your life. God already knows
your heart tonight. You can't sneak around on God. You might sneak around on your
boyfriend and you might sneak around on your girlfriend and
you might even sneak around on your husband and wife, but you
won't sneak around on God. You won't commit adultery in
Him, a spiritual adultery, and Him not know about it. He's got
an all set. He sees both good and evil. He
knows you're down-shaded. He knows you're upright. You
won't escape tonight. There's a danger with just coming
to church. But now there's a danger of just
being religious. I try my best not to be religious,
but every now and then I get that way. I'm religious. Amen. But at the end of the day,
I've got to look at myself in the mirror. It's not somebody
else. It's not my wife. It's not my children. It's not
my grandbaby. It's not my son-in-law. But it's
Charlie that needs help. When you get the message at the
house of God, regardless of who gives it, God has sent you help
today. It's not for you to put over
in the tater basket over in the dark place in the corner until
you need it. but God is trying to prepare you. It may not be
for today, and it may not be for tonight, it may not be for
tomorrow, but there's some word down in your life, God knows
you're gonna need what is being said behind the pulpit, amen,
to help you in this life, you hear me? Hear me tonight. Oh, man. What did the Bible say
in Matthew 7, 21? He said, let's go around and
look at it. Amen. Matthew 7, 21. Look at
this. I mean, these things come to
my mind, and I like to go to them. I love a reference in the
Bible, don't you? It's helpful tonight. Some people
read it like a magazine, and you ain't getting nothing out
of it. You can read the Reader's Digest, but it ain't going to
help you spiritually. Amen. If you just read that Bible
like you do the Reader's Digest or something, and you remember
them? I remember when I was a kid, ma'am, I used to read them things.
That won't help you a bit to scape over it, and you'll miss
the nuggets in it. Listen to what he said. Over
in the book of Matthew, I believe, what'd I say, 721. I get in a
big way and I forget, but listen. At 721, we'll just read the Bible
and see what the Lord says about it tonight. Now listen to what
Jesus said. Let's listen to what Jesus said.
It ain't just coming out. Listen to what he said. Not everyone
that saith. It ain't everybody that claims
Jesus. This is the one he said, unto
me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. It's dangerous
just to go to church. You're so into the wind. You're
so into the wind. He said, but who is it, brother
Darrell? But he that doeth. It ain't him that's doing all the
talking, but it's them that's doing all the doing tonight.
Faith is action. Love is action. Loving God is
action. Loving God, he said, I'll make
you not ashamed. He said, loving God is action
tonight. Oh, Lord have mercy. He said,
but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven. Amen, are you with me? but he
that doeth, not him that saith. It ain't him that says a good
game. I got this, I got... You ever
met them people? If you get a new guitar, theirs
is better. If you get a new Bible, theirs is better. Same word of
God, but they like theirs is better. You get a new pair of
shoes, theirs is better. There's people like that in the
church, ain't there? I'm talking about spiritually. I want you
to know you ain't got nothing unless he give it to you. Jesus,
amen. Oh, my friend, listen. Amen. It's not them that sayeth, but
them that doeth, Brother Robbie. Hey, listen. God's not looking
for saying. He's looking for somebody that's
going to do it tonight. The church can't grow if we ain't
willing to go knock on the door. Are you with me? Did you hear Daryl the other
night? Did you hear him? I remember one time in the trailer
park, when I got called to preach, there's a bunch of us young boys,
got called to preach. Man, we was fired up, Rob. We'd
get preaching right there. We caught the tater hoe down
there on the other side of Granite Falls, North Carolina, and I
was a young boy. We'd get down there on the corner in the trailer
park, begin to pray together. Then all of a sudden, one of
us cut loose, start preaching. There's a woman one day start throwing
rocks. The world don't want the truth. It was then and it's now. But here's the thing, it's come
into the church. Church has become a place of
recreation. Am I right? Church has become
a place to go see people. Is that right? Church has become
that place. Church has become a place where
we can go down to our brother Robbie and we can see brother
Robbie. And we can hear Brother Bill
sing. We can hear Brother Bedell testify and get out. But how
about you? Are you with me? God said to work it out with
fear and trembling. There ain't a lot of fear and
trembling no more. Mom, it ain't. I mean, these ought to know what
I'm talking about tonight. It used to be people show love. Nowadays we got cell phones and
you never hear from nobody. Huh? Am I right? I remember when
I was a kid, I'm 49, I guess that ain't too old to some, but
it's old to me. And I remember when I was a kid, Brother Bill,
we didn't have a phone in the house. The only time I seen my
papa was when he come out there. That's the only time I get a
chance to go home with him. You hear me? And if I wasn't
there, if I was up the road playing, listen, I didn't get that opportunity.
I want you to know something tonight. You ain't gonna get
right when you wanna get right. There gotta be conviction in
your life. I'm not gonna tell somebody they're saved when they
ain't. If there's no drawing, if there's no conviction, hey,
if there's no sorrow, then you can't get right. Am I right tonight? There's danger just coming to
church. Is that right? Listen to what
he says. Israel hath cast off the thing
that is good. How about Ogedeon? There's a time Israel sinned,
and God sent the men in ice and ammocots down there, didn't he?
And spoiled Israel. Every time they'd have a harvest,
they'd bring their cattle, and they'd come on them like grasshoppers,
they'd destroy the increase. You know why tonight? Hey, listen,
I know people, I had my pastor get mad at me over years ago.
I said, there's a big difference between, amen, troubles and trials,
and the wrath of God in somebody's life. A chastisement in a person's
life. You think God's just gonna let
you go out here and play church and not have nothing to say about
that? You read the wrong Bible. You're reading the wrong Bible.
I need to give you mine. Because I read every word, Brother
Darrell, that the children of God went back on God. He sold
them off. He said, I'll divorce you. You
backsliding heifer. That's what he said, ain't it?
He called him backsliding, didn't he? He called him a heifer. Backslid! That's where we are, boys. It's
rough, ain't it, I guess? I spent time with Jesus today,
because there wasn't nobody else to spend time with. Don't take that wrong. I spend
time with the Lord. Brother Ackley, that's where
we are. We're in a way, it seemed right, we're in a way to come
to church where we've had people pray. Yes, we have. Thank God
for that. But we can't stop now. We've got to press into this
thing. We can't cast away things. We can't lay it down. We can't
say we don't need it no more because we've been saved for
20 years. That's dangerous. Dangerous! Dangerous! There's a doctrine going around.
You don't have to go to church to be saved. That's not a doctrine
that's been around for years. And it's a lie. And the devil's
convinced people. But how about Gideon down there?
The devil's stolen everything. but God wants to give it back
and get him, don't he feel worthy? But God sent him down there by
the winepress, and brother, he was thrashing the wheat. He was
trying to keep the enemy from seeing what he, hey, he was hiding
and eating, but I'm gonna tell you something now, when you serve
the Lord, you don't have to hide from nothing, amen. You come
and worship, you come have a good time in the house of God, you
ain't got nothing to worry about. Hey, but listen, the only time
you hide is when you're guilty. Ain't that right? If you're guilty, you'll hide.
Woo! That's why a lot of people wanna
go big churches. They can go in, get out, nobody don't know
they're there, but we went to church today. Listen tonight,
I want fellowship tonight. That's why the Bible said to
fail not to assume yourself. That's why we put it in our covenants,
and that's why we agree on it. That's why we have rules at the
house of God. We just don't let anybody who
wants to join, join. And Jesus don't either. It ain't
about how much Jesus you talk, but it's about how much you walk.
I'll be done here in a minute. Gideon said, hey, you call me
a mighty man of valor, what's wrong? He said, I look around,
and brother, we're running, we're hiding, and brother, the enemy's
got us on the run. Why are you on the run all the
time if you love Jesus? The Lord will destroy you if
you ain't careful. Play in church. Jealousy in your
life. Robbie preached on that the other
night, didn't he? First night of revival hit jealousy right
off the bat. Yes, his crew in the grave, but I'm gonna tell
you something tonight. Love is stronger than death. Do you know
how love's stronger than death? He's always give hope. The Lord
has always give hope to us. Out of seven churches in the
book of Revelation, five he had somewhat against, didn't he? Five! He said, let us see it. He said, I find you not hot or
cold, for you look warm. He said, but if you look warm,
I'll spew you out. Now what makes us stay? We can
come in here and be religious. Is that right? You might want Robbie to come
back, I guess, tomorrow. I'll take my time. Where we at tonight? Revival's
been all week. I said, Lord, have mercy. I was
reading this and I had a thought and I thought I was going over
there and the more I, when I got back home today, I'm just glued
to what I'm doing right now. And that's evidence, ain't it?
That's good enough for me. I'm not gonna not do what God
wants me to do. It's awesome to sing. It's awesome
to participate in the house of God, but it's awesome also to
have your heart really where it needs to be. It's a dangerous
thing just to be religious. It's a dangerous thing. Ask Judas
about it. Sister sung this song a while
ago and I thought about what I was going to say. I mean, you
know, what the scriptures were. It's a dangerous thing to get
to feeling like a Christian when you really ain't. You get to
acting like it when you really ain't. There's a lot of Hollywood
in church. There's some good actors. They
know how to dress up. They can convince you that they
are who they are. But, but, but, God said you have
an unction. If you hang around Sister Laura
long enough, we're gonna find out if we're Christian or not,
ain't we? Hey, I'm gonna tell you something.
There's a difference between a sheep and a goat. I ain't no
farmer, but I know that much. You better not turn around. I
don't know, sheep might do it too. They do every now and then.
I know the church, brother. I lost a family because I told
them it wasn't good for them to miss revival and go to ball
games. Bye. I can't help it, guys. I'm not changing who I am. 33 years, Robbie. If I compromise
now, I've got to turn around Brother Darrell and tell them
for 33 years I lied to people. You cannot compromise to get
people in the house of God. God ain't bargaining heaven with
nobody. The debt's been paid and you
gotta come his way. He settled the rules a long time
ago. Come unto me, not going to the
world. Come unto me all you that labor
and are heavy laden. I'll give you rest. You won't
rest, you gotta be in hell. You won't rest, you gotta be
in hell. Huh? Everybody wants the blessings
of God, don't they? They want victory, but they want
to do what they want. He said, look what you've done,
Israel. You've took all the gold, everything
I blessed you with, you make gods out of them. Robbie preached
on it last night, didn't he? You've took that gold, you made
a calf, and it's threw you off now. Where's it at now? The very thing that you depend
on, where's it at now? Well, I'll tell you, mine ain't
a thing. It's God. He's real tonight. It's not a thing. It ain't a
cross on a wall. It ain't a picture of Jesus.
It's Jesus. I've got a relationship with
him. I talk to him. Hey, he shows
me the way. That's a real God. I'm not better than nobody, I
don't claim to be better than nobody, but I try to be ready
when it's my time. I don't get up here with nothing
in my life that I can't preach to you what God gives me. Hear
me tonight. If you're bored, let's go outside,
I'll be done. Amen, listen to me. We got heart
problems right in the house of God. And in that day, seven women
shall take hold of one man, saying, we'll eat our own bread. That's
what we want. We want what we want. Teachers having each in
years. Huh? Hey, they got a car allowance. I don't want it. They got a gas
card. I don't want that. I don't want
all these things that they offer men that's going to sell out.
I mean, I get it. Some have it. Most of them have.
We wear our own apparel, don't you tell me how to dress. We
will do what we want to do, only let us be called by thy name
and take away our reproach. Everybody that goes to the house
of God wants to be seen as a Christian. Everybody wants to be in the
crowd. Take them out to Walmart and
begin to give out tracts and see how long they want to be
in this crowd. Take them down to the street corner and preach
a while. And let a few people come by and scoff and see how
long they want to be identified in this crowd. The world's gonna
hate you. But I say, write my name. I say, write my name in the book
of life. That old song says, he said, the world's gonna hate
me if I write, he said, if I write your name, the world's gonna
hate you. Then I said, that song says, just write my name. What
you're gonna figure out is the world ain't gonna be there that
day, that day you draw your last breath. The world, those pleasures
that we put in front of God's not gonna deliver you. No way. Titus 1 and 16 says they profess
that they know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable.
You hear that? And disobedient. And to every
good work, reprobate sinners, professing godliness. You hear
me tonight? How dangerous is it just to come
to church? How dangerous is it just to be part of the crowd?
Ask Judas. I bet, hey, he realized he did
wrong, Robbie. Too late. He went out and hung
himself. Oh, did he go to heaven? No,
he killed himself. How could he go to heaven? He committed
murder. People argue up and down on some
stuff like that, but I ain't arguing. That's ignorance to
think a man killed himself and went to hell or heaven. You hear
me? You hear me tonight? But there's
a lot of murder that goes in the church. There's a lot of
killing going on in the church. See, church people, every time
I say church people, you're killing the influence of the church by
the way you live. You're robbing the house of God. I've never seen people in these
days like we're in, brother Dog, getting mad at the truth. And
the truth, all it's doing is trying to prepare you for a better
place. He's trying to scope you, scope you. He's trying to make
you what He wants you to be. What's wrong with running back
down to the potter's house? I'm mired in His hand. But He
began to work in my life. He began to apply the water in
my life. What is that? Representation
of the Holy Ghost. He gave it to me. He formed me.
He's helping me tonight. Making me what I ought to be.
I don't want to be a vessel of honor, Darryl. I don't want to
be a vessel of dishonor. I don't care if I'm wood, clay,
or mud, whatever. Just let me honor God with what
he's given me. Amen. Ain't that right? Just
be what God wants you to be. Don't be some false thing. Got
to watch going to flea markets, buddy. They'll sell you fine
china that ain't nothing but parsley. You hear me? But God knows who you are tonight.
He knows when you go out there tonight, Christian folk, what
station you got your radio on. He knows what you go home tonight
and watch on your TV. He knows your mind. He knows
your heart. You cannot escape. Hey, if you
practice that, you're religious and that's all you are. You're like the prophets of Baal.
You're up there trying to strike a match, trying to light the
fire. Elijah, he prays what, a 63 word prayer? God sends the
fire. Woo! Ain't that something? That's
all it takes. Hey, because he had a relationship
with the man. Behold the man. You can say that
in your life tonight. He says, he said, for they have
sown the wind. Man, I'm gonna tell you. The
Bible says if you sow to the flesh, you shall of the flesh
reap what? If you sow to the spirit, you shall of the spirit
reap what? What are we sowing to? In here,
we'll sow to our spirit because we want everybody to think we're
somebody. When we go out there, we're sowing to our flesh. Guess
what you get? Corrupt fruit. You'll bear the
fruit from the roots you're hooked to. How many believe that tonight? Your heart, from the abundance
of the heart, the mouth speaketh. They overcome in the book of
Revelation by what? The blood of the lamb and what?
The word of their testimony. Amen, the word of their testimony.
These children, man, this is awesome. You youngins don't ever
quit telling what Jesus done for you. Be the example. Hey, I love my children back
home, but I wish they was on fire. I wish they was on fire,
Bill. I wish he's on fire, Rob. Hey,
I've got my girls, love the Lord. They do, but I'm talking about
our youth. Our young people, we get on fire. But if mom and daddy don't enforce,
if they're just religious, this is just something we do. This
ain't no different t-ball to them. It ain't no different flag
football. They'll give flag football more,
and they'll give baseball more, and they'll give soccer. They'll
go there and buy a hundred dollar cleat. Won't give five dollars
to church. That's the way it is. They prime religious. Dangerous. It's a dangerous thing
to be religious. We're sowing to the wind. One
day, the storm's coming. The wild wind's coming. And brother,
if you're not found on the rock, it's gonna tear your house down.
Am I right? Everybody wants Daryl when somebody's
dying. Everybody wants these preachers
when somebody's dying. Stand over them, say something
good about, better not call me, amen. Listen to that. Hey, we've
just gotta tell the truth. Here's the truth about the matter.
You're preaching your funeral right now. Right now. I can't preach your funeral.
You're preaching your funeral. If you're inconsistent at church
and you're not faithful at church, that's what people see when they
see your corpse up here. If you love the Lord, you want
to please the Lord, it shows in your life, when you die, they
know, they look at that corpse, they look at that body, and they
say, hey, that's what they was. It don't matter what I say. I say, priesthood of living,
the dead know of nothing. Are you with me tonight? I know
it's far. I ain't jumping on the pews. But
I don't mind being second. I don't mind being least. And
I ain't talking about Robbie. He knows. We've got to be leased. Every one of us. Darwin, you
stand tomorrow. Hey, if you stand tomorrow, we've
got to be leased. I've got to decrease and he's
got to increase. And it don't matter what you're thinking right
now. Hey, if the Lord's sowing the seed, you better receive
it in your lives. It ain't always going to be easy.
Look here, I found it in the covenant. We've got to be willing
to be admonished. to be corrected, you take a person
that can't be corrected, you can't help that person. They're
always right, they ain't never wrong, and there's no way you're
gonna show them they're wrong. I'm gonna tell you something
tonight, you'll never get lost until you, or never get saved
until you're lost. Amen, you'll never be found until
you're willing to admit, hey, that you took the wrong turn.
Am I right tonight? Amen. Maybe I'll get more energy
later. But listen tonight, folks. I'm
doing what God wants. Listen! Hey, listen to what He's
trying to tell us! Be careful what you're sold to.
If I was you tonight, if there's something other than gospel in
my CD player tonight, I'd go out there and break them up,
throw them away, burn them, whatever you gotta do. Hey, be ye holy
as I'm holy, you said. Separate yourself. Anything that
bring out reproach in your life, get rid of it. You'll cut the
power off in your life. Are you with me tonight? I don't
know why I'm saying all that. I wanted to preach in Joshua. I wanted to preach to you, that
wall standing before you, you're going to have to shout it out.
You're going to have to be obedient to God. We're going to have to
realize that they just didn't walk up to the wall and there's
the wall and they run around a few times and made a big act.
No, no, no. God said do it this way and that's
what He says tonight. Do it His way. Amen. I love the church. I love this little church. I
love you children. Everybody here has been good
to me. Hey, the least I can do is tell you the truth. That ain't a popular thing today. Brother, I'll just tell the truth.
If you want to examine my life, if you want to know all my ins
and outs, just sit down out there. I'm very transparent and I'll
tell you anything you want to know. Because I know that in
me that is in my flesh will have no good thing. If Paul wrote
14 books in the New Testament, he's quoted that. He's told you,
hey, there's nothing good in me. He's sent in prison. He's
in jail for loving Jesus. And he's saying, there ain't
no good in me. Bless your little heart. You may not go over the
speed limit, but there ain't no good in you either. You hear
me? Hey, you may be, I don't eat
pork, that ain't no good in you. At the end of the day, if you
ain't saved, that's about what we are. We're as low as one of
them swine. Amen. I'm about ready to close
it out. But listen tonight. We've come
to a point to where we're identifying. See, we got this thing today
that they'll identify. Out there at home, they identify
as a cat. So they will get, in their schools now, they'll put
litter boxes. They identify as a dog. One woman got mad because
the veterinary wouldn't look at her son. Try to sue. Ain't that the dumbest thing
you've ever heard? The totally stupidest thing I've ever heard
in my life. You can't look in the mirror
and tell who you are. But we got the same problem in
the house of God. People's identifying as Christian,
but they're not Christian. Am I right? Build the same old
time, Holy Ghost power. Hey, Brother Herbert, years ago,
Riley Priest, my Papaw priest, and my great-grandpa priest,
they took it then, it's gonna take it now. I don't care if
you live in California, Louisiana, Alaska, Tennessee, Virginia,
it's gonna take the same blood of Jesus to cleanse your eyes. and you still have to come down
this road right here to get there. Am I right or not? I'm not trying
to be mean. I love everybody. I hope you know that. Visitors,
I love you. I ain't got no time to get up
here and play patty cake over here. I'm running out of time,
darlin'. I'm 49. Most of my life's over. I heard them tell you, hey, most
of our life's over. I'll say this, the best, as far
as this body is concerned, is behind me. But the best, as far
as my spirit goes, and this man on the inside, of the best is
yet to come! Woo! He saved the best for last,
brother! Last of the night! And you know
what it'll take? It'll take cleaving this back
tonight! Living it outside, living it
inside. When you fail, pull up to the altar. If you fall, old
preachers used to tell me, if you fall, fall forward and learn
something. Get up, dust yourself off, be
a better person. And for your failure, use your
failure to help somebody else, not look down on somebody else. I'd love to have a house full
of my church tattooed up, pierced up. I'd love to have a house
full of homeless. I'd preach to them, buddy. I'd
tell them about somebody loves them tonight. Hear me tonight. If my God couldn't save their
tattoos, I'd get rid of Him. He'll save you. He'll save your
life. He'll save your whole heart. But brother, He ain't gonna be
put last. You'll be like Israel. Every time an increase comes,
the enemy will take it. I'm going to say this tonight.
Let me tell you this story. A true story. Me and some buddies of mine,
we started a little old Brush Harbor meeting in Bayleton down
in Greene County when I was a young preacher. I guess back in 2005,
I was a younger preacher. 2005 or so, I guess. Long story short, we set it up,
and we're just preaching. This man showed up one night,
had a beard. And I was strict on beards. And
I thought if a man had a beard, he couldn't preach. That's just
the way I felt about it. I thought, he's going to try
to preach, ain't he? He got up there when nobody else
had nothing. I didn't have nothing. I preached the night before,
I think. He got up to preach, and I thought, Lord, this is
going to be a mess. Yes, Rob, it's going to be a mess. That's
what I was thinking. Hey, he preached one of the best messages
I ever heard. And then you know what God said? He said, give
him $20, and tell him to come to your radio broadcast now. I didn't
do it, Rob. I didn't do that. About a week
later, transmission went out of my car. It cost me about $1,500,
$1,600 later. God said, oh yeah, give him $20
and ask him to come preach at the radio broadcast. And you
know what I did? Yes, yes, yes. So I let him do
it. Old Bobby Isley still comes to
see me today and he's a good brother. I love him. We've got
love and I feel the Lord. You hear me tonight? God's able
to get hurt. Even an old stubborn preacher,
God's able. Something about that pocketbook.
God gets in that pocketbook. Boy, you'll get after it then,
won't you? Amen. But I'm going to tell you something
tonight. Young folk, keep doing. Please
don't let down. The devil will get right in that
weak spot if you do. The old saying is he'll take
an inch and take a mile. Don't give in. Don't give up. Don't be religious and don't
just come to church. But be who you're supposed to
be. You might fool the church, but you're fooling yourself.
That's all you're doing. You're costing yourself in life
and at the end of life. He said there was no man, brother
Darrell, for houses and land and mother and father. He said
he wouldn't be rewarded. This is a paraphrase. He wouldn't
be rewarded in this life a hundredfold in the life to come. God said,
hey, he told them over there, don't cast your confidence away.
Let's look at that. Just real quick and I'm gonna
be done, brother. Herb can play. Play that. But listen to what
he says. Lord, help me. Let me find it. I think it's right here. One more Scripture and I'm going
to sit down. Right here it is. Hebrews 10.35, casting all away
therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. Okay. Don't lose your faith. Don't throw away your blessings.
Take what God is sowing into you if it kills you. Take what
the preacher says if it offends you from the top of your head
to the bottom of your feet. If you go to church and you get
raked, you say, praise God. Dig up the insufficiencies in
my life. Get the rocks out of my garden.
Till my garden. Roll that fallow ground out of
my life. Roll it. Set the straight row.
Plant a seed. And help me be for you what I'm
supposed to be. Help me bear fruit that you put
in me. If you're here tonight and you
struggle with love, He's sowing in your love. If you're here
tonight and you're struggling with greed, He's able to take
it out of your life. Drugs, alcohol, fornication, adultery, pornography,
whatever it is, in your closet, guess what? It's not in the closet,
God already knows. You have no skeletons, God don't
know about. Can I say this tonight? If you're
here this evening and you felt God so miserable that you feel
like you're dragging your head, I know what we've seen. And I
know what we've heard this week, and it's awesome, but God don't
send something for nothing. Here's what you gotta understand,
Sister Gloria, as much as you can fail God, and boy we do,
don't we? We may not cuss, we may not go
out and drink, we may not do all these things, some of you
may not do nothing I've said tonight. Some of you may be struggling
with that tonight. But can I say this? God knows
it and still loves you. Enough to tell you the truth.
Amen. Ain't that right? Ain't that
exciting tonight? That old preacher could dig you
up, spit you out, chew on you, and God said, hey, if you'll
come, there's bombs still in Gilead. If you'll come, hey,
there's still a chief physician, there's a physician down there.
He said it, didn't he? He said, well, why in the world's
my, why in the world, what's wrong with my people? If that's
the case, what's wrong with you? And we know it to be true tonight,
don't we? Amen, I love you this evening. Go ahead, Brother Herb.
If you need to pray, won't you come? Preacher, I've been here
every night. Come one more time. I won't take no more or less
of you. God sure won't. You get close to God, don't matter
what anybody else says, you let them think. But I'm gonna tell
you, just let them think.
Dangerous To Be Religious
Series Revival April 1-12, 2024
There is a danger in coming to the house of God time after time and God working in our lives and us turning Him away. People come to the house of God and the church isn't what it is suppose to be. The harvest is ripe and the labors are few.
