Number 11 from Jonah. We're taking it from Hebrew and from English also. We're in verse number 5. We'll start off and read from the Amplified Bible, the first few verses again. The word is Ra. Ra means a thief, a liar, a cheat, a murderer, just a slime ball is what it is. And that's when Adam and Eve took from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they became evil. And Jonah is very displeased. He is very unhappy. Why in the world would a man that preached a series of messages as he walked through Nineveh, and all of them repent and ask God to save them, they become his brothers, spiritual brothers. But that's not the way he looked at it. Hate and prejudice, hate and prejudice was instilled in him. But it greatly depleased Jonah and he became angry and he prayed to the Lord and said, Oh Lord, is this not what I said when I was in my own country? Now remember now, he died, he was in the fish's belly, The fish swallowed him, he was dead, he drowned already. And he was praying from hell, Sheol, the place of the departed spirit, actually the paradise side of it. He's a prophet, but he's an ungodly prophet. He's a rebellious prophet. This is why I ran to Tarshish, because I knew that you are gracious and compassionate. And the word there, that gracious and compassionate, that is one of the titles of Jesus. the Messiah, the Jehovah title, the man of loving kindness. God, slow to anger, great in loving kindness, and when sinners turn to you, you revoke the sentence of disaster against them. Therefore now, O Lord, just take my life from me, for it is better for me to die than to live. Why? Why? What makes him so angry? The hate. The hate for these people. I told you about preaching to my uncle and wishing he wasn't going to repent, and he did. I found out later on, I'd go by his house and he'd give me two or three dollars, tell me to put an offering plate. He got baptized. He went to church with his sister. until he died. He always, when I'd go by and see him, he'd hold my hand, kiss my hand, and say, Jimmy, forgive me for what I did. I was so bad. Will you forgive me? I said, the Lord forgave you. He said, Bill, I forgive you. He was sorry. I didn't want him to be saved. I wanted to see him suffer for what he'd done to other people. I found the man I wanted in the building over there, an old adobe building. Gary Harwell and I walked in there and this guy is dead. Body fluids all over the ground. He's just blue and black. The building killed him. Down on the canal bank he met a guy down there and was arguing over a bottle of wine and he cut the guy's head off. He decapitated him. Another guy, Clifford, that we knew, he broke into his house in the middle of the night and went in there and he was an alcoholic and he was drinking his vanilla extract. And Clifford came in there and he ran a butcher knife all the way through him. And he was so afraid of Bill that he wouldn't even bring charges to him. They arrested him a little bit, but then he wouldn't go to court. He was afraid of me killing me. He'll kill me. I don't trust him. He'll kill me. There was a guy over there in Bishop, California that was so bad, his name was Jim, but he was so bad that the officers wouldn't arrest him. He carried a .45 on him all the time and he'd just do whatever he wanted to. He told them, he said, you arrest me, I'll kill you, I'll kill your family, I'll kill your wife, I'll kill your mother, your grandmother, whoever, I'll kill them all of them. And they believed he'd do it. The judges wouldn't put him in jail because he threatened them. Now people like that ought to be put away or executed or something. But that happened. My uncle was like that. But the Lord, he is with the Lord today. I thank God now. I didn't know my great-grandfather, but they gave me his Bibles after he died. They gave the Bibles that his father had given to him, one in 1903 and the other one in 1928. His father prayed really so great, very, very godly man. He was much older than my great grandmother. She was 15 when he married her. He was around 43 or something. And they had 11 kids. And this boy, he really wanted this boy to be something special. He wanted Bill to be something special. Willie, Willie Paul, he was named after Willie Paul, my grandmother's brother. And he'd always write to him in the Bible and say, Willie, I pray for you all the time. And he wrote down, he said, look up these scriptures pertaining to salvation. He said, go and look at them. He wrote them all down. And then when you go to the book, it would be all underlined and marked out. So he could find them. Then in 1928, now in the meantime, this guy's killed several people. He ran off with William C. Gable's wife, which is Clark Gable's father's wife, his stepmother, and took off with her. He was just a drunk and a killer and a violent man. She met him in the oil fields and Gladys – I've got their marriage license here someplace where she was married to William C. Gable. Anyway, all the bad things he's done in his life. And that woman stayed with him all those years. They lived in my backyard, in the shack I grew up in, until we finally run them off, because of his meanness. God saved his soul. His dad prayed for him all those years. The last Bible, and I got it out here in our storage container. Bill, these would make good sermons. He wanted him to be a preacher. He wanted him to be a preacher. He said, these be good sermons. And then he goes and writes all these different ones in all the different scriptures and gives it to this boy, this wavered child. Well, his great-grandson became a preacher. That was his wish, I guess. Therefore, now O Lord, just take my life from me. It's better for me to die than to live. And then the Lord said to him, do you have a good reason to be angry? What reason? I was angry because God saved my uncle. But when I read those Bibles years later, and I saw that his salvation was the answer to my great grandfather's prayers, 75 years at least later, 75 years at least later, God answered that man's prayers and he'd been dead for since 1930-something. 1938 I think is when he died. And God answered his prayers in the 1970s. Then Jonah went out of the city and sat east of it. Now he's going to go out and pout. He's mad. He's going to pout now. There he made himself a shelter and sat under the shade so he could see what would happen in the city. He wanted God to turn around and go back to the wicked ways. How could a man want that? But he did. Then John went out of the city and sat east of it and he made himself a shelter and sat under it so he could see what was going to happen. So the Lord prepared a plant. and it grew up over Jonah to be a shade over his head to spare him from the discomfort. He's sitting out there in the sun now. He could see the sunlight hit that city of Nineveh. He could see it every morning. And Jonah was extremely happy about the protection of the plant. But God prepared a worm now. when morning dawned the next day and attacked the plant and it withered. And the sun came up. God prepared a scorching east wind and the wind beat down on Jonah's head so that he fainted. He had sunstroke. And he wished to die and said, it's better for me to die than to live. How wicked, a wicked, a wicked preacher. wicked, revengeful, hate and prejudice. And God said to Jonah, do you have a good reason to be angry about the loss of the plant? And he said, I have a very good reason to be angry about it. Enough to die. I'm so mad I could die. Boy, hate. This is hate. God can use a broken vessel, a fragile vessel, a cracked pot, many times, and this is one of them. This is really a cracked pot. Then the Lord said, You have had compassion on the plant for which you did not work, which you did not cause to grow, and which came up over your night and perished overnight. Should I not have compassion on Nineveh? The great city in which there are more than 120,000 innocent persons who do not know the difference between the right and the left hand. There's 120,000 children there. Little children that don't know, that are under the age of learning basically. And are not yet accountable for sin. Now that's a beautiful thing too. Brother D.S. Madden was one of my real good close friends. And he was a man that I greatly admired. I went all over the Middle East with him. All the way from Los Angeles to over, circling over the Arctic Circle many times. Went all the way into Italy, and he told me down there he had to kill his best friend in World War II because he went nuts. And he said it would have taken several men. We'd have lost several men. He was the sergeant major. They stuck a .45 underneath the chin full of trigger and killed his best friend. He said, I had to kill a whole box of gumbos. We were over the Middle East. 6 foot 8, 380 or something like this monster of a man. Big hands. That would be about the size of one of his hands. Big man. You could see him on the front of Discover the Word dot com. That's Brother Matt and then me standing behind him. I was 6 foot 2 and he was way taller than I was. Made me look like a midget. We went over there. We went into Damascus, Syria. I was there I think 11 days. It was miserable. Most backward city that I ever saw in the world. It's horrible. We almost, somebody started to break into our room. We were brother and sister, trying to get in the room. Get your knife out. I had a knife I shaved with. I pulled that knife out. He said, if he comes in here, cut him in half. You know, like this. Anyway, I woke up. And he was trying to get in the room, but he didn't get in there. I didn't have to cut him either. We'd go out there in the city. We saw three men hanging by the neck dead up there in front of the courthouse out there for all that 11 days we were there. They were still hanging by the neck out there. All body fluids leaking out of them on the ground. Stinking like mad. Ugh. Horrible city. Went in there. We stayed in the Oriental Palace. We had to walk upstairs because they were trying to build an elevator, but they hadn't got it done yet. Dirt was all over the floor and everything. I walked in the room and we were standing on a, what we call ironing arrow carpets that were probably 300 years old. Came in there and I could put my foot down like that and dust would just fly. I went over there and I slapped my bed and the dust flew. And I'm hanging down with a light with two, everything's 220 over there. And you had to turn this thing on and the wires were open. Dangerous. Went into the bathroom hot water and cold water just running because they won't fix the faucets. The floor was beautiful tile but you couldn't see it for the dirt. I got some common out and I'm down on my hands washing the pathway out from the sink to over there to the bathroom and the shower. Shower was the three-quarters pipe up there with the sprinkler on it. The water was always running in the sink because it wouldn't shut off. I cleaned the place up like that. He said, you're going to die from this filth. He said, that's probably 300 years old. Every disease on the earth. We go out there and there's little children playing in the street. He'd say anything. He wasn't afraid of anything. The man was not afraid. He said, I thank God that all these little kids, I hope they die before they come to the age of accountability in this hell hole. pagan contradictory. I'm sitting back here, this boy, this is enemy lines where we are. We're behind enemy lines. That's a bad place to be. Anyway, we were there in that last room. The last day we were there, they gave us Abraham's dinner that he fixed for the angels and Jesus, Yehovah. And they had this yogurt, camel yogurt gravy, and some rice or something, and this fatted calf. They had it with gravy and stuff like that. And when you go in there, they have a stack of plates. Muhammad ate only one thing at a time. Well, anyway, so they did everything like Muhammad did. So if they give you one course here, then they take that plate away, then another plate on that, they put another thing on there, you could eat that. And most of it wasn't edible at all. I lost like 45 pounds in the time I was over there. I liked to starve to death and sick with amoebic dysentery and everything else. Boy, it was a bad deal. You know, you go on there on tour, but if you go over there on an archaeological tour, that's a different thing. Anyway, Brother Madden was there, and they came in. There weren't any dogs over there, because dogs, Muhammad didn't like barking dogs. And so, and this was really heavy Muslim country. This is devout, you know, like Orthodox Muslim. And they, he said, well, why don't we go get something good to eat, Brother Phillips? You don't like that? And they put it out here and they put this, they put this gravy and, and this, well, they put the meat down, they put some gravy over it. That looks pretty good. Then they put these, the fries out. He said, boy, that looks good. He said, I'm hungry. And then they poured this camel yogurt gravy on top of it. He said, well, they just roared the whole thing. He sat down on the floor and he said, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty. Boy, I'm just sitting there with my hair standing on end, just about. I ate it. So I can say I ate the same thing that Abraham ate. But boy, the one astounding thing he said, and he said it in every country, we went into across the Alameda Bridge over into Jericho. These little Muslim kids out there are taught to steal. That's what they do. They stole my vaccination certificates out of my pocket. They finally told us to sew our pockets up. Had to sew our pockets up. Sew your pockets up on your shirt. One of them come over there and put a flower in my shirt that took my pins, and I had those real good pins back then. They did that, my brother and I grabbed the kid's hand, he said, young man, if you want that hand, put that back in my shirt or I will break it. Put it back up there, he puts it down, he said, now get out of here. I hope you die before you come to the age of accountability. That's what it said here. This is one thing, we talk about child security, people that are born into this world, sometimes they don't ever learn right and wrong when they're mentally handicapped. Brother Madden said, I thank God that there's going to be more people in heaven than hell, because every little kid that dies in these Muslim countries, he said, I thank God for child mortality over there. And they grow up, they go to hell. Well, that's what it says right here. God loves the animals and He loves the little children. Should I not have compassion on men of the great city in which there is no more than 120,000 innocent persons who do not know the difference between the right and the left hand and are not yet accountable for sin as well as many blameless animals. Many blameless animals. Now let's go back and read this in Hebrew just a little bit. We didn't get into this last time. And he won out, Jonah. Look at that word then, Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y- Now this word's got a conjunction on the front of it. It's third person, mass and senior, cow, wild, consecutive, and perfect. From Yitza, 422 and 425 in the lexicon. 422 in Brown, Driver, and Briggs, and 425 in Koehler and Bumgartner. And he went out and kept on going out, Jonah, from the city, men, middle preposition, page 580, and from Ha-er. Ha is the definite article. Page 206, air is city. Now the city, it means a place that is walled and fortified. So from this word ha-air here, we see a city that's walled and protected. And it's got towers on it, lock up towers, and all of this is around here. And in the parable that the Lord said, The man went into the, and cultivated the land, planted vineyards and planted orchards, and then he put a wall around it, and he put towers, lookout towers on it, fortified the city. Then he sent his son back to get money, because they were home, what they called sharecroppers. And they killed him. They killed him. They killed him. Well, this city is fortified. But this city had a profit to go to it. Now, this city is not only fortified, by military right, but is fortified and protected by God himself. And then, why Yeshev? And he kept on setting. Third person, masculine, senior, cowl, while consecutive, imperfect, and it's got a conjunction on the front of that word. And then, man, mik, kadam, from the east, from the front of the city. Always face east. Cities are always faced east. They always faced east. And then La Herre, east, the city, to the city, little preposition 515 there, that lament on the front of that. And, he kept on making, look at that word, voyeurs. Conjunction on the front of it, and then the third person, Master and Senior, Cal, while consecutive. We have a lot of action going on here. A lot of action. It shows Jonah is very busy. Very busy and he's so conceited and self-centered. He's a narcissist basically. And all these people are wicked, wicked people that deserve to die. But God doesn't think so. And then it says, lo, little preposition with a suffix here, for himself, there, shalom, there. And then we have a sukkah. Now, Israel has a feast of booths. A feast of sukkah. Sukkah. Sukkah means a booth. Out in the front of our place out there, down in Old River, out in the front there, Joaquin Marietta, or the Zorro, had a booth out there at Indy Merriman. He had a little lean-to where he used to rest there for two or three weeks while the horses would get fed up and get rejuvenated and hydrated and everything with good water. And then he'd take off and go down to Cucamonga or down to San Bernardino now. And he'd go down there and stay down there for about three weeks down there from Rancho Cucamonga. And then he'd take the horses all the way to Sonora himself. He'd gather them up all through the whole San Joaquin Valley. And now he says here, and so he made for himself a temporary booth. and then Yahshua and He kept on setting. Third person, master, senior, wow, consecutive and perfect. It's got a conjunction on one of that too. And then under her. Now, the little booth that He built has a feminine gender. Under her. Under, down, under her. He's setting in the shade. He doesn't want to go away. He's not in there telling them more about the Lord. He's not spending one minute to teach these people about the God that they believe in. He's out there pouting instead of teaching and preparing these people. You know this city was completely destroyed years later. Completely wiped out. It was so wiped out that they didn't even believe it existed. Except the Bible talked about Nineveh. They didn't believe Nineveh ever existed. They thought it was a figment, a legend. But it was there. Now he kept on sitting under her, in the shadow, in the shadow, that preposition page 88 on the front of that bay, and then until, odd, I share a little particle relation, until which, he would keep on seeing, keep on seeing, third person imagination, seeing her cowl imperfect. What? Ma. You know, you ever heard of the word manna? Manna? It comes from Hebrew, manah. And it means, what is it? Now right here is a little interrogative. It says, ma what? He might keep on becoming in the city. What might keep on becoming? What might happen in the city? He's wanting something bad to happen. He's waiting for an earthquake. He's waiting for a meteor to hit it or something. He's waiting for them to turn against God. In the city, Ba'er. Preposition, Ba'er. In the city, Ba'er. And city is what? A watched and fortified city and wall. Now, verse number 6. Why am I? Gigi yum. Why y'all me all the your mom, we leave your mom lay your cell all go saw the top cell low. Mira, though, by your mother, your honor all Ha-gig-ga-yon, Shim-cha-gin-o-lah. In the Hebrew language it is like three-dimensional in full color and in the translation sometimes it's like black and white, you know. You can see in the language it talks about all of this. And he ordained. And he had ordained, third person, masculine, singular, PL, while consecutive and perfect. He had ordained. Now, Jehovah God ordained that Jonah would go to this city. He made his mother, Jonah's mother and father, produce him. God foreordained that. He foreordained the ship's crew. He foreordained the ship. He foreordained all of the crew in the ship. He foreordained the Leviathan that swallowed Jonah. He foreordained the storm in the city. He foreordained the city that, you know what, that city had large libraries. The city had locks and safes. crucifixion. Now Jesus would be crucified on crops. He wasn't stoned to death. There were different kinds of things that the Jewish people did. They stoned people, they strangled them, they beheaded them, they burned them. And how they would burn them is they would take a rope and they would soak it in a petroleum product, cram it down their throat, and light it on fire. And they'd be able to fire under them. And they'd do this right in front of an outhouse. An outhouse basically was a hole in the ground. And after they'd get through burning and executing the people, they'd just knock them off into the outhouse. There were the human feces and the urine and everything that was garbage. and appointed Jehovah God. We have here Hathabar, that's why I translate it because we don't know how to say the name Jehovah. Now King James developed that name when King James translated the Bible for the Church of England. Now King James didn't like Baptists, he killed Baptists, he killed Catholics, and the Catholics were Actually Great Britain or England was a Catholic country until Henry VIII. Henry VIII wanted to marry Anne Boleyn and the Pope wouldn't let him do it. And so he executed the Pope and Catholicism out of England and started the Church of England which was nothing more than just the Church of England and it was basically Catholicism again. And he went about ruling and he was the head of the church and then the archbishop and that kind of area underneath him. So the Pope, he became the Pope. So he could do whatever he wanted to and he had quite a few wives didn't he, Henry VIII? And he executed a few of them. And he executed Anne Bolden. Later on they got, they had girls instead of boys. And the first born child of a woman was going to be on the throne. Well, when she had a girl, bad, bad, I'll get another one. I'm going to have a firstborn son. He finally had a boy. And the boy wrote liturgy for the church later on. But he also had a daughter, Mary. And Mary, Bloody Mary. Bloody Mary. That was her name because she killed all the Protestants. She took England back to Catholicism. And then James comes in and He's going to protect his people from Catholicism because Catholicism won't let the people have a Bible. And Catholicism is nothing but rote and memory and all types of little things that they do, these traditions. And so he's going to give them a Bible and the reason why he did a Bible is because the Baptists were preaching. And the Baptists would preach and they'd convert them from their Protestants into the Baptist faith, and from the Catholics into the Baptist faith. And so, he's going to translate his Bible that is going to be anti-Baptist and anti-Catholic. And in the very preface to the Bible, he said, against the Pope's people and those people that won't have anything except to handle it out on their own, and that's the Baptists. And so, he translated that Bible, And it intentionally teaches baptismal regeneration, because that's what they believe. It teaches universal church, because that's what they believe. Because the Catholic Church and the Church of England, that is the church. The Baptist Church is made up of individual churches. There's no such thing as the Baptist Church. It's Baptist churches. All little independent democratic bodies. And he appointed Jehovah God at plant. Now this plant has a name. Marilyn, your grandfather told you to go out and get these beans off this plant and put them in the ground and it would kill gophers, wouldn't it? Yeah. What was that plant? Uh, castor bean. Castor bean. This is a castor bean plant. That's what it is. It tells you. It says, not a plant, but a castor bean plant. It is a gig-o-yon. A castor bean plant, it is a, uh, a wild plant in California. Do they have any wild castor beans still down there in San Bernardino or out there on the side of the roads or whatever? Yeah, I think so. You think so? They used to have them all over Bakersfield, but they killed all of them. You hardly ever see them anymore because of all the farming and everything all of a sudden walking about. But a castor bean plant. The beans are poison. Well anyway, he put this castor bean plant. The beans in it are poison. That's why you put them in the ground and the gophers eat them and they're gone. That was like, everything you see here has got a type and anti-type to it. Jonah was like that castor being planted. He was so poisoned with hate. He went in there and God provided him, raised him from the dead and had that fish spit him out there on the shore and by the way, Nineveh, Nineveh means the house of the fish god. So here comes a great fish, this Leviathan, and spits him out on the sands of the shore of that river. And they see this man coming out of a fish's mouth and they say already, this must be from God. That's our God right there. That's a supernatural fish. That's a dog. And so he goes there and he preaches and he's 100% successful. and then YAL, and he came up and kept on coming up from a pond, Jonah, to become this plant. God created that plant right there. He planted that plant. God planted it. He put that castor bean plant there, that castor bean on the ground. He gave it supernatural energy to grow. And she kept on coming up, or he did, the plant is called the Heath, To shadow, to sell, to sell, to shadow over his head. To deliver him. Look at that, La Chassette. God sent this plant to grow up over him, to shelter him. Jonah was supposed to be the savior of that whole city. That plant is kind of like a type of Jonah. It's kind of like the grace of God also. over him, and then we have a preposition with a second person masculine singular there, suffix. And then, me-ra-tho, from his misery. John was a miserable man in many ways. Miserable. That word, me-ra-tho, miserable. And it says here from preposition on the front of it, page 580, and then from his evil, miserable, evil mind himself. He was so angry he went out there and sat out there and built himself a little shade. Maybe it blew away, whatever happened to it. But God built, sent a castor bean plant. He ordained, preordained, foreordained this castor bean plant. And then it says, from his misery, and he kept on rejoicing Jonah. Jonah kept on rejoicing. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! I don't care about the city, but I praise the Lord over this plant. God loves me. I ain't supposed to hate these people. Over El, preposition. Ha, definite article. Over the castor bean plant. He had simchah, great joy, great gedolah, great overjoyed. Ever seen anybody overjoyed? Jonah was overjoyed at that point. He was overjoyed. As we look at this, and we look at this message that God gives to us over and over and over again, we see the love of God. We see the hatefulness of mankind, where mankind hates men. that one nation will hate another nation, and they will try to destroy it. They'll go in there and kill it, and they look upon it as nothing. One of the things to do in an army, when you go in there, you have to make the enemy not human. You have to make the enemy look like they're less than human. So killing them is less than killing the human. Jonah looked at this city less than human. And when God saved them, he was very, very, very angry. But God was happy. Our Father, we send this message out as we study the book of Jonah from your Word. I pray that you just touch people's lives with it, that you melt away this racial hatred that we have for each other in the world, nation against nation and man against man. Father, please use it. for your honor and glory. Please forgive me for I fail you. In Jesus name I.
