I didn't know we'd be preaching this evening, but I need the Lord's help. I can't do nothing without Him. I can't breathe without Him. I can't live without Him. I can't preach without Him. We can't pray without Him. We can't witness without Him. There's nothing that we can do without the Lord. Not one thing. I say I do desire your prayers. I think about what Alan said. Now's not the time to be giving up. We realize we are living in the last days. We know that. We can look around us. We can see everything that the good Lord has told us, what was going to take place, what was going to happen, and it's sure happening today, isn't it? We're seeing things unfold right before our eyes, and it seems like it's getting faster and faster every day. It seems like it's just coming more and more, stronger and stronger, as those birth pains that the good Lord told us about, it would be like those birth pains that they would increase with intensity and they would just keep getting more and more frequent. But if you got your Bibles, turn with us tonight to Psalms chapter 77. Psalms 77. I'm going to read here for a little bit. I do desire your prayers again. Need the Lord's help this evening. Just need His touch. Psalms 77. And we'll start reading in verse 1. I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice, and He gave ear unto me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My sore ran in the night and ceased not. My soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God and was troubled. I complained and my spirit was overwhelmed. Salah. Thou holdest mine eyes, waking. I am so troubled that I cannot speak. And I can say myself, these times in our lives, it seems like we get in that state. We get so troubled that it seems like we don't have the words. And I think about Hannah. She was so troubled and so vexed that she couldn't speak. She was talking in her heart. But boy, have you ever been there before? It says, I am so troubled that I cannot speak. I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times. I call to remembrance my song in the night. I commune with mine own heart and my spirit made diligent search. Will the Lord cast off forever and will he be favorable no more? Is his mercy clean gone forever? Does his promise fail forevermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercy? Salah. And I said, this is my infirmity, but I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High. I will remember the works of the Lord. Surely I will remember the wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work. and talk of thy doings. You may be seated. And as we began to pray, and Charlie had asked us to preach and asked the good Lord what he would have us to do, there was a few words that stuck out to me as the Lord put us here, and it was, but I will remember. I can think about Job, and the Bible says, now he lived 140 years after all that had come upon him. After he lost everything that he had, he lived 140 years after that. And now there's no doubt in my mind, Todd, that in those 140 years, Job didn't see more trouble during that time. Nothing like I'm sure that he saw during that time that we read about. But I'm sure there was trouble that come his way. I'm sure there was tough times that come along in his life after that of 140 years. And I'm sure the Bible says, now listen, he had grandchildren. He had great-grandchildren. There was his sons and his daughters there. And I'm sure in their lives there was trouble that came up while Job was living. But there's one thing that me and you know, Job could set them down whatever trouble they was going through. Whatever trouble might have been going on in Job's life, he could get down himself and say, I will remember. There was a time, he could say, that come up in my life. There was a time and there was a day, Job would say, that I lost everything that I had. I lost all the possessions that I owned. I lost my livestock and my way of living. And worse than that, I lost my 10 children. And then you go beyond that, he could tell them, listen, there was sore balls that come up on me from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I was not only hurting physically, but I was hurting emotionally. I was hurting spiritually. I was hurting mentally. And then my own wife turned and said, Job, why don't you curse God and die? And then the three friends that came there, how they was there with him at first. But after seven days, they began to accuse Job. They began to come against Job. And you'll read how that everybody left him. The whole neighborhood, the whole village. But Job could say, I will remember. There was one that was holding my hand. There was one that was with me all the way. There was one that never left me. He never forsook me. In the darkest hour that I ever had, in the toughest time that I ever had in my life, there was one. He said, I will remember the Lord. I will remember what He done for me. We come on dark times. We come on troubled times. And me and you have never seen nothing like Job saw. We've never seen the tough times that he did. But there's one thing about it, the Lord never left him. And Job stayed with God. And it was already said, Alan said, we can't give up now. We've come too far. Alan, in your life, when things get hard and when things get tough on you, you can look back on today and you can remember your little girl being baptized. You can look back in your life and you can remember the time that the good Lord knocked on her heart and she made her way to this altar. Listen, we've got to remember tonight the good things that God's done in our lives. We've got to remember the blessings when things get hard and we get troubled and we get down and out and it seems like discouragement comes in. We've got to remember the good times the Lord has given us. and the blessings and the handfuls of purpose that He's left out there for me and you. There's no doubt in our lives we face the Goliaths, don't we? We face giants in our lives, whether it be sickness, whether it be our family, Whether it be lost loved ones, whether it be those that's backslidden, and it may be stuff that's coming up in your own life. It may be a fight up here. Whatever it is, I think about little David there. Has there come a time a giant was there by the name of Goliath? And there he was going against the children of Israel for forty days and for forty nights. He would come out morning and evening and he would taunt them. And that's what the devil does to me and you. He wants to come to us and he wants to taunt us. But now listen, there was a young man by the name of David there. And you'll find that he come up there And he come to Saul and he said, listen, he said, I'll go against this uncircumcised Philistine. He said, I'll go down there and I will fight him. And what was it Saul said? He said, you're but a youth. And he said, now listen, he's been a warrior from his youth and up. You can't handle this. You can't do this. And that's what the devil would say to me and you. Listen, you might as well give up. You might as well lay down. It's getting hard. Your prayers ain't being answered. You're not seeing things being moved upon. Trouble's getting harder and harder. But I recall what David said, and what he said is what the Lord laid on us. David said, I will remember. He said, Saul, there come a time when there was a lion and there was a bear, and they was coming against my sheep. And he said, I smoked the lion and I smoked the bear. But he said, now listen, it wasn't me that done it. It was the Lord. He delivered me out of Paul the Lied and he delivered me out of the paw of the bear and he said he'll do the same thing with this uncircumcised Philistine. Oh, we've got to look back on her lives. We've got to look back on the blessings. I've heard Charlie talk about it many times about his daughter Sadie there. The shape that was going on. Everything that was happening. And how the Lord took care of her. And now how that she can walk and she can run. And she can play. Listen, I've heard Charlie say he's looking for his sister. Just keep on knocking. Just keep on praying. Just keep on holding to the Lord. I can remember what he's done. You can remember what He's done in your life. You can remember times when you stood and you didn't know sometimes, but the Lord come by your way. He spoke through you. Hey, listen, I will remember what the good Lord's done for me. There's times when me and you go to pray. There's times when we're troubled. There's times when it seems like you can't wait to get to your prayer closet, to get to your prayer place, wherever it may be. Wherever you're at, you're troubled and you're vexed. And the tears rolling down your cheeks. And you wonder, you wonder as you make your way there. But I'm reminded of a time, oh my, there was a little woman that had had five husbands and she was making her way to a well over there just to get some water. But there was one sitting there waiting for her. Listen, there's times in your life when you go to pray and you go to seek the Lord and you've had a rough time and you shut that door, you get in the woods, I can tell you there's one right there waiting on you. There's one there ready for you to lean your head on. I can remember the times myself when things have gotten hard and I've had a tough time. And it's been a hard way that I've knelt down on my knees and He's been right there waiting on me. He's been right there holding me. He's been right there touching me and helping my heart and giving me encouragement and the help that I stand in need of. I will remember. the works of the Lord. Surely, surely I will remember the wonders of old. I will remember where He delivered me from. I will remember where He brought me from. I will remember the day that I got saved and what He done for me, lost and undone. in a bad way, headed for hell. But I'll remember how he knocked on my heart. I'll remember what I felt in my heart. And I'll remember two voices. One said, you stay put right there. And another one said, you've got to go. And pulled and tugged at me. And I'll remember what it felt like when I knelt down to that old-fashioned altar. I'll remember the tears that began to roll. And I'll remember my heart beating out of my chest. And I'll remember when I come up from our lesson, I wasn't the same man anymore. I wasn't the same person anymore. I was new. I was clean. I never felt so clean in my life. I never felt so light in my life as I felt that day. The sky was different. The leaves was different. I'm telling you the truth. Everything was different. I felt a love in my heart I had never felt before in my life. I will remember the works of the Lord. Surely, I will remember thy wonders. of old. I know it's a dark time. I know you can watch the news and get discouraged. I know you can see a world that's just getting evil and more evil. I know we can see a times it's already been preached about and we know it's in God's Word as in the days of Noah. So shall it be in the coming of the Son of Man. And it's a time now that we see all this happening around us. It's a time that we see evil coming up. And it's a time that the Lord told us. He said there would be a time that men wouldn't endure sound doctrine, but would heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And I told my wife this evening, I said it's an amazing thing now. We're living in a time. God's done told us this would happen. But yet people's willing to say it. and heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. They're willing to sit there and be patted on the back and told everything's okay. And the pastor just mentioned it. How they'll talk about grace and how grace is abused. Let me tell you something. It's a straight way. It's a narrow way. It's walking with the Lord. It's not going astray. It's not turning to the right hand or to the left hand. Hey, it's going with God. It's walking with God. It's desiring His presence. It's desiring His touch in your life this evening. It is a straight way. And I can say as we look back over the Word of God, I don't recall one time those boys ever leaving the Lord for good. Do you? I know there come a time when they were scattered, but they come back. I can look over other ones and I can think about Judas that went away. I can think about that great multitude that went away from him and never came back. And they're not mentioned anymore. I can think about little Ruth and Naomi. and Orpah over there and how that they was two that was going with Nahomih and how that one went back to Moab. Hey, let me tell you something. I can remember what Ruth said. She said, where you go, I'm going to go. Where you lodge, I will lodge. Thy God shall be my God. Your people my people. Where you're buried, I will be buried. And the Lord do so to me and more also if death don't separate me and you. You know what she said? I remember. She said, I'm going to stay with you no matter what. I'm going with you through the valleys. I know it's going to get tough. And I know it's going to get hard. And there's times it seems like I'm going to be lonely. But I know the Lord's with me. I've read His Word. I know what Job said. I look to my right hand. I look to my left hand. And He's not there in front of me. And behind me where He doth work. But I cannot perceive Him. But He says He knows the way which I take. Hey! He knows the road that me and you're on. I think about Peter over there. when he denied the Lord three times. Oh my. And the Lord done told him. He said, Simon, the devil means to sift you like wheat. He said, the devil means to sift you like wheat. But I remember he didn't leave it there, Charlie. He didn't leave it there. He said, Aaron, but I prayed for you. I prayed for you that your faith fell not. And not if you're converted, but when you're converted. Go and strengthen your brethren. Listen, ain't it good to know tonight that when you're walking with the Lord and you face tough times, ain't it good that you can remember what the Lord said to Peter? Ain't it good to know that He's making intercession for you right now? Ain't it good to know there's one sitting at the right hand of the Father? make an intercession for me and you. He knows what you're going through. He knows where you're at tonight. He knows the trouble and the turmoil that nobody else may see. He knows the times you've been down praying and the tears have been rolling. He knows the times that you've cried out to Him about your lost loved ones. He knows the times that you've cried out to Him about those that's backslidden. He knows the times that you've been weeping before Him. And he's making intercession. He hears what you're saying. Oh, my. He says, I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High. I think about Joshua when he came to Jordan. There he had been with Moses. Oh, he'd seen the power of God. He'd seen how God had brought down all those things upon Egypt. All those plagues he had brought down upon them. He had seen the Lord split the Red Sea and then walk upon dry ground. They had went through the wilderness for 40 years and he had seen that manna come down from above. Oh, by the things that he had saw, that water that came out of that rock, That's our blessed Savior today. That water that came out of Joshua had seen all of it. But now listen, Joshua was not immune to trouble. Just the same as me and you. He was walking in the way and trouble was going to come. And there was the Jordan. But Joshua could say, boys, I do remember another time when we came to some water. I do remember what the Lord done. How that He split that water and we walked upon dry ground. Listen, remember what God's done for you. in your life tonight. Oh, I can remember what He's done for me. Over all my life, I can remember what He's done for me. And I may have told it before, but I'll tell it again. And it may not mean much to some people, but what the Lord does to me and for me is so precious. And it ought to be to you tonight. as you look over your life and examine the things that He's done for you. You may say, well to some people this wouldn't be much, but oh to me, I want to brag on the Lord tonight and what He's done for me. I want to look over my life and I want to remember the blessings of God and what He's done for me. There was a time, I've said it before, I didn't have any work. I didn't have any work and Erica was getting ready to be born. And I was needing a job. And I had put in an application over here for Glen Raven. And I prayed about it. I prayed about it. And they called me and said, listen, it's come down to you and one more man. But they said he's had more experience than you. And we're giving him the job. Now listen to me. Those two voices that I had heard there before I got saved. It was two voices again and one that said, see, the Lord didn't hear what you said. See, you prayed about this. The Lord knows you need work. He knows that you've been laid off and you've prayed about it and nothing's happened. See there, you might as well give up. You might as well quit, but let me tell you, greater is He that lives within me than he that is in this world. There was something else stirring in there that said, you just keep praying. You just keep going. And I did. And it wasn't a few days later, they called me back and said, are you still interested in that job? I said, yes, sir, I sure am. And they said, well, the man that had it decided he didn't want it anymore. Hey, let me tell you something. God's good tonight. He works for you. He moves for you if you hold on to Him with everything that you've got. If you'll cleave to Him and hold to Him. Remember the days of old. Remember what He's done for you in your life. I know things get hard. And I know things get tough. And I have no doubt that the longer we're in this way and the Lord don't come back. Listen, it's already been said. Your pastor said it. The Lord don't tarry. He knows the time He's coming back. The Father knows what time that is. Listen. He knows what hour that is. But there's one thing about it. It's getting dark, I know, and it's getting hard, and we're going to face things. And if He don't come back, we're going to face more things that's coming upon us. But there's one thing about it. You can get down in the Word of God. And you can read through it. And you can read how that God had sustained Noah through that whole thing. You can read how that He sustained him. And I'm sure during that time there was mocking that went on. There was laughing that went on. There was hard times for Noah. I'm sure his body was tired. I'm sure his back was aching. I'm sure his hands was bruised from hammering. I'm sure he had hit his thumbs numerous times. I'm sure the man was wore out. And not only that, you know how it is, Brother Charlie, preaching, when you give the Lord everything you've got and He moves upon you and it seems like you're wore out sometimes. But oh my, I'm sure Noah was, as he went out day after day, and he preached the Word of God to those people, and he told them there was a flood coming. But ain't you glad you can remember, even though nobody listened, Noah went into the ark, his family went into the ark, and God Himself shut the door. And my, my, I will remember what God done. I want to say, and there was a man by the name of Enoch that the Bible says walked with God. Oh, we've got to pay attention to that word, walked with God. It wasn't Sunday morning and Sunday night. It wasn't just Wednesday night. Let me tell you, it was a daily walk with God. It was seven days a week. And the Bible says that Enoch lived 365 years. And that tells me and you, it's a 365 day. It's a walk with God. It's praying and seeking the face of the Lord. It's being in His Word. It's walking with Him. It's getting your family down. It's reading the Word of God. It's getting alone by yourself. It's shutting the door. It's getting down and talking to the Lord and communing with Him. Because I know I will remember Enoch walked with God and God took him for he was not. Oh my, it's not the time for me and you to slumber and sleep. It's not the time for me and you to lay down. It's time for me and you to remember the works of the Lord. It's time to look back on those men and women of God. When things got tough, Joshua kept marching. When things got hard, Hannah kept praying. When things got difficult, and they took Paul out and they whipped him five times with 39 stripes. I had no doubt, Paul, that his back looked like hamburger meat. I had no doubt that that man, listen, he was stoned, he was beaten with rods, the things that they had done to him. He was hungry, he was thirsty, he was shipwrecked, he was in the water. Listen, the trouble that he faced, he was wore out and tired. But ain't it great what was talked about this morning? While they was in prison, Paul began to remember all the things the Lord had done for him. Paul began to remember on that walk to Damascus how the Lord had saved him. Paul began to remember all the things that God had done for him. And he could sing the praises to the Lord Jesus. Listen, I will remember the works of the Lord surely. Surely, I will remember the wonders of old. In closing tonight, a little woman, she had tried everything. She had tried the doctors. She had went to many physicians. They had done many things to her. And you know, you talk to people today and they're reaching for everything. You talk to people today, and I even mean church people. It seems I'm being honest with you. They talk about what Trump may do. They talk about what this one may do and what that one may do. That doesn't matter today. There's only one that you can reach for today. There's only one, boy, that's going to make a difference. There's only one that's going to deliver you out of your storm. Listen, David said it, when mother and father forsake me, He will take me up. David knew when he was alone. He knew when nobody else was there. The Lord was with Him all the way. He knew when everybody else had forsooken Him. He knew that God was with Him. And I believe, I don't know, but there was that little woman and she had heard about what Jesus had done. She had tried everything else. She had went to all the physicians she could. She spent every dime that she had. But she began to remember what she had heard about the Lord Jesus. She began to remember what this man Jesus of Nazareth, she had heard that he had done. And it didn't matter who was between her and Him. It didn't matter how many people was between her and Him. She said, I've got to get to Him. I've got to touch the hem of His garment. Listen, me and you today have got to remember what God's done. And we've got to say, I've got to touch the hem of His garment. I've got to get to the Lord Jesus. And it says, her infirmity was healed and it was immediate but we've got to get to him and we've got to remember the days of old we've got to go back through the word of god and see what he's done for his people you've got to look over your own life tonight and examine what he's done for you you've got to say i will remember what the Lord's done for me. I will remember what He's done for His people. He said, I'll never leave you and I'll never forsake you. Listen, I've got to stay with God. You've got to stay with God. But tell you what, when trouble comes in, when hard times come into your life, You just get back to the Word of God. And you get down and you pray over it. And He will help you. And He will show you things. And He will encourage your heart. I thought I was done, but one more. I think about Elijah. There was a tough time in his life. Oh Lord, I can identify with it. You can identify with it. You can think about a time, and Charlie had preached on it this morning, about a time when Noah was in that ark. And brother Charlie, I'd never seen it, but that's exactly right, what the Lord give you. God hadn't spoke to him during that time. There's been times in my life that it seems like God's not spoken. He's not said nothing. Oh my, but He never left me. If you'll just hold on to Him. like Elijah there underneath that juniper tree. He was in a bad way, but oh my, how God come by and give him some bread and give him some water. I thank the Lord the times that I've been under the juniper tree. He's come by and He's given me bread and He's given me water. I thank the Lord. I will remember. Don't have your head down tonight. Don't be discouraged. I know it comes in to me and you. I deal with it. We're all human. But remember what God's done. Remember what He's done in His Word. The Bible says that God cannot lie and He cannot. You remember what He's done for you this evening.
