Persuaded by Terror

Fulfilling our roles as ambassadors for Christ places us in the front lines of spiritual conflict. Satan has devised elaborate ways to deceive keep people in the darkness of lies and ignorance. He attacks those who oppose his efforts.
One of his tactics for keeping people in the dark is to promote the irrelevance of Christianity. With the varied opinions held by different people, it is challenging to answer all the questions and rebuttals that exist. The correct response is to determine how to fulfill our responsibility to give an answer to every who asks.
Paul said knowing the terror of the Lord, he persuaded others to believe. Persuasion does not mean tactless disagreement and heated debates. It means to win the trust of others. Paul is describing his transparency as a way of winning trust when others see his sincerity, honesty, and trustworthiness. The only way to persuade others to believe is for ourselves to be persuaded.
