Let me tell you what, folks,
religion will eventually wear off. Religion will eventually wear
off. And you know what happens when it wears off? Everybody
that it wears off with, you know what happens? They immediately
fall away. You know what? That's what's
wrong with our churches in America today. Talk to pastor after pastor
after pastor on the telephone. Talk to them on messenger, on
Facebook. What's going on in our land and
country? What's going on? Boy, we've got
47 that ain't coming to church no more. They must have lost
their salvation. That's where you guided God's
sheep wrong because God's sheep will never lose their salvation.
It's not their free will that saved them, it's the sovereign,
divine will of Almighty God that regenerated them by His grace
and God changed their will. Dead man, no. He don't understand,
he can't do good, and he don't seek after God. How dead? How dead were you when you were
lost? We'll go back to Ezekiel 37. This is how dead you were. You say, well, Doug, this Old
Testament. Well, let me tell you, Church, it's all the Word
of God. And the Old Testament points
to Christ and what He's going to do. And the New Testament
points forward to what He's still yet to do. Amen? But look at
Ezekiel chapter 37 and verse number 1. Let me just read this
right quick and let me expound on this and then we got about
14 other passages to go to. I want to show you. Folks, we're
dead outside of the grace of God. And if you're dead, that
means your will's dead. Look at Ezekiel 37 verse 1. The hand of the Lord was upon
me and carried me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me
down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones. You
say, Brother Doug, now come on now. Come on. This is a picture
of Israel. This is a typology of the nation
of Israel and what God would do to the nation of Israel. Yes,
you're absolutely right. And so is the New Covenant. You're
not in the New Covenant. God never made the New Covenant
with the Gentiles. We've just been brought in by
the spirit of adoption. But this is for the Jews. So
if I'm in, this is what God did for me too. Amen. This is the
exact same work He did for me. Look at verse number two. He
calls me to pass by them round about, and behold, they were
very many in the open valley, and lo, they were very dry. And
he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered and said, O Lord
God, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, prophesy.
What's another word for prophesy? Come on, help me preach. Hey,
man! He said preach! What did Jesus tell Nicodemus
in John chapter 3 and verse number 5? Unless you're born of the
water and of the Spirit. What's the water? Well, I tell
you what, it ain't baptism. Baptism's a work. It ain't natural
birth, because natural birth don't play in anywhere at all
with the spiritual birth. What's the water? The water's
the Word. The waters, the gospel, you're
born again, you're regenerated, you're sanctified by the washing
and the renewing of the regeneration of the Word of God. He said,
Ezekiel, preach to those dead bones. Prophesy upon these bones and
say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto
these bones. Behold, I will. There's your free will right
there. God's got it, amen. God's got it. God said, I will.
And what else did God say? He said, I will have mercy on
whom I will have mercy. Amen. And I will have compassion
on whom I will have compassion. God said, I will cause breath
to enter into you and ye shall live. Now, wait a minute. Mark
your place there. Ezekiel 37 time. Look up here
at me. Pay attention to this. Jesus said, Nicodemus, don't
you know you must be born again? How is it so, Lord? Can I enter
into my mother's womb a second time and be born when I'm old?
Nicodemus said that to Jesus, and Jesus said, No, Nicodemus,
no. That which is born of flesh is flesh. That which is born
of water or spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I say to you,
You must be born again. Nicodemus was still puzzled.
Nicodemus probably sitting back there scratching his head in
the dark underneath the tree with the moonlight glaring. Jesus
looked at him and Jesus knew exactly what he was thinking.
Didn't even have to wonder. He said, Nicodemus, the wind
bloweth where it wills. Thou knowest not whence it comes
or whether it goes, but you hear the sound thereof. So is everyone
that is born of the Spirit. You say, how does it happen?
The wind blows. You don't know where it comes
from. You don't know where it's going. But you can see the effects
of it, amen. Why? Go back to verse 5 of Ezekiel
37. And saith the Lord God unto these
bones, Behold, I'll cause the wind to enter into you. He said,
I'll breathe upon you the Holy Spirit of God, the same spirit
that moved upon the darkness of the waters on the face of
the deep in the very, very beginning, the same spirit that raised the
Messiah from the dead, the same spirit that moved prophets of
old to write the Word of God. The same Spirit of God doesn't
care about your will. He breathes on God's elect. He changes their will. And God
told the Son, let's sit on my right hand until I make all thy
enemies thy footstool. And oh, by the way, 110 verse
3 in the Psalm, your people will be willing if a day of your power,
son, because you're a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. It don't matter about your will,
because if you're his, God will change your will. You say, well, what's all this
stuff about Jesus? I find no beauty in that. I find
no pleasure in the Christian life. Exactly, because you're
still dead. There is no beauty that we should
desire Him. He's just calm and just like
everybody else. Oh, but once the wind blows and changes your
will, You know what the Holy Spirit of God does? He draws
you to the Son. The Son reveals Himself unto
you. I showed them that verse last night. Brother Paul, they
almost done somersaults. Where Jesus said, even so the
Father raiseth up the dead and quickeneth those that He wills. So the Son likewise quickens
whosoever He wills. Then I ask them the question,
who can Jesus save? Whosoever he wills. And I said,
you really want to know who he can save? Turn to John 17, verse
number three. No, I'm not talking to you. I'm
talking to the person I was talking to last night. You guys are going
to get the quick version of it. They got it with both barrels.
All right. I'm just giving you the 22 tonight.
I'm not giving you the 12 gauge. Listen to me. Who can Jesus save? Al has given him power. over
all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou
hast given me." That's what the Lord said now.
