Let me try to say this one clearly.
You have stuff you don't need and shouldn't have. And there's
things in your schedule you shouldn't be doing. Now having said that,
the habit is simplifying. And it's so easy to carry around
a whole bunch of extra stuff. You go into anyone's home and
it's like, oh, I need to simplify. I need to get rid of some more
stuff. That's right. Give it away. You can donate
it or just throw it away. Be careful about having idols
and sentimental attachment. You need to release that. Also,
when it comes to your schedule, you have a lot of things right
now you're doing that you really shouldn't be doing. I say that
because it's so healthy to simplify. If you really do a few things
well, that's so much better than getting spread too thin. There's
stuff you could let other people do. They're going to be built
up in their gifts. They're going to feel valued.
There's stuff you can delegate. There's stuff that's just eating
up your time and your energy, and it's a flat-out distraction.
There's hobbies that are taking too much of your life. So, get
in the habit of simplifying so you don't have to make one big
jolt, but it's just something you continually do. You're simplifying.
It's a simple life where you have contentment, you're honoring
the Lord, and you're focusing on the major stuff. Trust God
in that step today.
