Well, we're going to try to get through this. I'm trying to rush as quick as I can, fellas, ladies. I want to get through this. I don't want to waste any more of the Lord's time on anything that he doesn't want us doing. So I know the Lord put this on my heart. And while somewhat possibly boring in some manner. The Lord put it on my heart. I feel it's important that we know and understand there's a lot of already ways in which we can relate to what's been talked about already. And I guess just start with Rome, Michael, and we'll just, I think it's still in there. I'm not even entirely sure. If I left that in that folder or not. Yeah, I think it is. We can just start here. So we're going to start back and talking about the land of Israel again. And a land that God promised to his people, made promise to Abraham to get out of that country and to get to a place where he was going to show him And so where we picked up last time, we got a little further than this, but I just want to quickly just get your minds. You remember the Alexander the Great and the time period in between your Old Testament and your New Testament and that 400 years of silence? We talked about Alexander the Great coming in and conquering the land. And then you had the Maccabees, you remember? The Maccabees rose up and for about 80 to 100 years. There was a Jewish rule there. And then Pompey rides in, the Romans are now on the scene. The Romans are gonna come down and they are going to take the land. And so they overtake Jerusalem and conquer the land of Israel. and the Roman Empire rules over the land. Of course, this is the time when Jesus is walking the earth, remember? Jesus is our great God and Savior, has taken upon a robe of flesh, and he is walking the earth during this time. Herod the Great has been installed by the Romans. So, during that time period is when we have most of our writings of our New Testament. We have all the records that we have of the first missionary journeys of Paul and, you know, all the different where they're scattered from Jerusalem, remember, where he told them to go into all the world, and they're scattered. The constant battles and the oppression of the Romans, if you'll remember, finally, there comes a point, they get tired of the stubbornness of the Jewish people, and they try to do what everybody's tried to do. They tried to get them out of the land. And so they exile them, many over all the way to the Roman Empire, some to Babylon, Turkey. They just massively begin to get rid of all their religious artifacts. Remember under Titus and all the various things there. They destroy the temples, a lot of their history. We have some other writers during this time. I don't know how trustworthy they are, but a lot of your historical writings that the Jewish people, not including in your Bible, kept or destroyed. A lot of things tried to just get rid of the Jew. They've tried to do to the Jew what they've tried to do to the Word of God. You just wanna stamp it out. But they've been unsuccessful. They have scattered the Jewish people across the map. The Romans did. And then that brings us up, I think, to where we left off last time. You've got the Crusades during this time period, Constantinople. Remember we talked about the the conversion of Constantine over to Christianity. And so, well, a religious profession is made anyway. And so, you know, all of Rome is supposed to be, you know, quote, unquote, Christian. And it's during that time period, briefly, that there are Christians that are controlling the holy sites, as they call them, in Jerusalem. And, of course, that doesn't last long because you're going to have the Roman Empire is going to be taken over. They're going to be overtaken. And the Muslims are now creeping in and they, Saladin is the man's name, many of you may remember that, has come in to Jerusalem and for the Muslims has taken over. Remember that the Jewish people have been scattered. And it's something I thought a lot about. I know this just seems like a lot of history and I understand that. But if we believe that that land represents the spirit-filled life of the Christian, there's a whole lot of applications that can be made. One of which is the reality, and we're gonna just, I've not even recorded probably in what I'm gonna read off to you. I probably didn't even keep up with half. I only tried to keep up with the significant ones that I'm gonna read off to you. But of the battles over this land, we've already covered, have taken six or seven services, I guess. And just a constant, I mean, even when you get up to the date that we're in now, there is nothing but just a constant battle in that land. And you know, when I make that relation to the Christian life, it ought to remind all of us that the Christian life is one constant battle. We shouldn't really be surprised that there's somebody trying to throw us out of the Spirit-filled life. Why is someone every waking second of my life trying to ouch me from this land? And they are. The world's trying to get us out of that land. They don't want Spirit-filled Christians running around, right? They don't want Jesus on the throne of your heart. They don't want Christianity spread throughout all the world. They hate your morals. They hate your God. They hate your Savior. Right? And so certainly the devil does. And so there's a constant battle in the life of the Christian to remove him from the land that God has purpose for him. And again, I'm speaking spiritually, right? So there's a, should, as we begin to think about some of these things, think about this, every time there, The only way to get those people out of the land is by judgment. The judgment of God is the only thing that has removed those people from that land. God made a promise to you and me, didn't he? He said if you'd walk in the spirit, you'll not fulfill the lust of the flesh, right? God said you could walk in joy of his salvation, you could walk in victory, you could walk in joy unspeakable and full of glory. However, if you choose to honor other gods before him, worship other gods. If you choose to have idols, if you choose to involve yourself in immorality and dishonor God, God certainly, the judgment of God will certainly, will boot you out of the land. And it's only the judgment of God that can remove a person from this land. The enemy can't come take you off that land. Right? If you're filled with the spirit of God, you have power and you have victory. Nobody can take you out of the land. Only God can allow the enemy to get you out of the land. Only the judgment of God can allow us to lose the joy that we had. Remember he said, my joy I give you and no man can take it from you. Right? But what can happen? You can lose your joy. How do you lose your joy? By getting involved in sin, dishonoring God, the judgment of God against the people of God. It's the same way in this land. The only way to get the Jew out of Israel is for them to sin and God to judge them. That's it. You can't move those people from that land when God wants them there. When God's fighting their battles, nobody can beat them. But when God has somewhat against them, He can allow defeat in their life. Because they're walking in the Spirit, they're not walking in His power. Same thing with us, right? So we've got to remember that. But we've also got to remember every time God makes provision and a way of escape for them to get back. Now that's positive, that's encouraging. Well, I'm not spirit filled. Well, you can be. God will make a way back for you. You can't get kicked out without the judgment of God. You can't get back in without the providence of God and the strength of God. God makes a way for them every time you get back into the land. God will make a way for you to get back. But I will say this, now I don't know how perfect this type will keep going, the more your little brain starts thinking about it, but they lose ground every time they get back. Remember where they started? Remember what all God had promised them? Hey, when the first 12 tribes were assigned their portion in the land here, there was plenty of them that were settled up into Syria and over into Jordan. They were settling a lot of this land over in here. And what would happen? They get exiled because of their own sin, and they come back, and they've got less ground than when they started. Listen, we can sit here and talk about the prodigal son, whether he's lost or saved, I don't know. I don't know, I think we missed the whole purpose of the story to take it down those roads to begin with. But I think all of us would agree, if he was saved, he got back, but he came back scarred. He came back with baggage. He came back, and I guarantee you, he didn't have the money that he left with. He got back, but there were some things he brought back with him. He lost some ground when he got back. Right? That doesn't mean God can't give you victory and you can regain ground. But when you get back, you may not have as much ground. It may not look like it was when you left. Think about the spiritual eye. I wanna get back, I wanna, how many of us, how many of them Jews you think would sit at the morning and would dream sitting in exile in Babylon and dream of the smell of the grass and the dew and the, we have many of us psalmists talking about just the longing in their heart that they had to be back in their homeland. How many Christians do you know have got messed up in sin and long in their heart to get back to that place of joy and happiness and glory and victory? Just a longing. Well, listen, friend, you don't have to long. You don't have to long for it. God will make a way for you to get back. God wants you in that land more than you wanna be in that land. Yeah. That encourages me. I've been in and I've been out. And if you've ever been in, it'll create a longing in your heart if you ever get far away. I'm gonna tell you something else about this land. This is all desert. There ain't water to be found nowhere in this land. You know where the water is. If you wanna get water, you're gonna have to head this way. Are you thirsty? I'm thirsty to death, actually. Are you thirsty and longing for God? Are you dry? You feel like you're in a desert spiritually? You are not gonna find it in the Arabian desert. You're gonna have to start making your first steps back toward the promised land. spiritually, right? You're not gonna, listen, you'll continue to long out here. You'll continue to wish and hope and pray and maybe, but you don't have to. God's made a way. I believe for every person that's saved, unless He kills you in judgment, I believe every one of us have the opportunity to live in victory and the fullness of the Spirit. No way would God command all Christians to be filled with the Spirit and only allow access for a few. It's not so. I believe he gives the spirit to every man that's ever born again and he can walk in that life and that newness of life that he knows when he got saved, he can walk in it until God takes him home. They didn't have to leave. They would have never got kicked out had they not sinned against God. So, Again, it wasn't that the Romans overpowered Israel. It wasn't that the Assyrians were too strong. The Babylonians were too mighty. God gave them over to their hand, remember? Because of their sins. Say, well, I feel like I'm in a desert place far away from God. Well, I can tell you how you got there. God's will wasn't for you to be where you are. You got there by some kind of disobedience to God. God didn't just allow that to happen to you. That just cause God's going around looking for who he can be mean to. I feel like that's how some people present God. Like God's just going around trying to make everybody's life miserable. That's not God in this Bible at all. He said, I want you to have life. This is what I want about your life. I want you to have an abundant life. That's why I came, the cause I came into this world to save men from their sins and give them a wonderfully abundant life. But you gotta do it God's way. There's no abundance out here. There's no abundance here, no abundance here, no abundance here. The abundance is only found by drawing nigh to God and spiritually speaking, emptying yourself of yourself and letting God, the Holy Spirit live his life through you, right? All right, see, we're not gonna get, all right. So, Let's move on as quick as we can. I wanna get through this as quickly as possible. You just hang on, Michael, I'll try to holler out to you when I can find what it's called. Do we see something concerning the Ottoman Empire? Let me see if I can find the name. Yeah, I think there's one. Ottoman. We'll try to go through this quickly. quick as we can. Well, I've stuck the wrong picture in there. I wanted one bigger than that where you can see all of what they have. But, well, here's some of it. There's one. Thank you, Michael. So, all right, again, We have under the Ottoman rule, the Ottomans have come, let me give you this history so I don't misquote something, okay? They take over the Byzantine Empire when they overtook Constantinople and they controlled Palestine in 1517. I talked to you, I think, somewhat last time about the Egyptians took a little bit, they took control over for just a little bit until the Turks came and overtook Jerusalem. But primarily the Ottomans have come now and they're taking rule over from Rome and the Ottoman Empire is, in my opinion, the What is, well, let's go next to, if I stay too long on some of this stuff, we'll never get done, Michael. If you go to, I guess let's start, let's see, World War I, so that's, give us the British mandate, I guess. Do you see that? I want you to see some of this, if I can read it off to you. I think I may have several of these, Michael. Some of this is going to matter. Let me take the first one. You see the first picture of the British mandate. Okay, so during the Ottoman Turkish, when the Ottoman Turks take over, during that time period, now is when World War I is gonna begin. So the, I just, skipping through this quickly. The Archduke Franz Ferdinand is assassinated in Serbia. Austria-Hungary secures German support. Serbia is backed by Russia and France and Belgium and Great Britain. And the Ottoman Empire joins Germany in World War I. Now, the British are going to take over. I wish I had a zoomed out some, but that's gonna be all right. It don't show the colors very well. So if you'll just, I'll just point this out, okay? So, during World War I, the British now are gonna come in and they are gonna win all of what we're gonna call Palestine now, thanks to Rome. All of the land of Israel, but all this area here, all is gonna be given over to the British people. Now, who helped the British win? And this is how this all comes about. So, has anybody ever heard of the Balfour Declaration? Anybody ever heard of that? Okay, 1917. This is official, this is law. I found that out today. I thought this was just one of these policies or UN resolutions. You know, these guys do the, the UN's made so many resolutions, nobody even listens to them. They don't even do nothing. It's like the latest Fox News conservative on there talking about, there's about to be this happen. All they do is talk about, they ain't arrested one person. Anyway, neither here nor there, this man who is, and that's his actual name, declares in 1917, he writes a letter. I actually have a copy of that, Michael. Let's go straight to that, and then we'll go forward. Do you see Balfour Declaration? I don't know if you can read this or not, but there's actually a copy of that. I don't know if you can see it or not. Do you see it in that main folder? Well, anyway, there's a picture here. Let me, I'll read it to you from my end. His majesty's government with view of favor of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object. So what's gonna happen now when the British come in and they win over rule in all of this, Palestine area from the Ottomans, from the Turks. They do that, part of how they do that is by winning support from the Jewish people in other countries, really, like America. And yeah, that's a different one. We might need that one in a minute. So I don't know how spiritual, what I'm saying is I don't know how spiritual this is. but just in a practical war like, you know, just practical needs, the British have some way they want to appeal to the Jewish community. And they make these promises before the end of the war of how they will establish a home for the Jewish people in Palestine. So when they win, and this man, Balfour, who is at least for politically speaking, a great supporter of the Jewish people, issues that law. It really puts into effect because the League of Nations, which we are never a part of, by the way, the League of Nations now is going to recognize the British mandate over the land of Palestine. So they're given a mandate, the British people, are given control over all of the land of Palestine. Now, this isn't the best picture to see it, but if you can see this at all, right here, In this area is the Sinai Desert, and this is the current land of Israel, the Dead Sea. You see this here? Okay, so when the British take control, they're given all of this land here, and they declare in the Balfour Declaration that they are gonna make a home for the Jewish people back here in this land. That's what it's for, okay? So here's the problem. And the problem with that is they also got help from, oh, I can't remember his name, King Abdullah. I think that's his name. They also got help from the Arabs that were over here in what's going to be known as Jordan against the Ottomans to help win this whole area. In 1920, which is what this is here, the Jewish people began to return back to the land of Israel. That's a miracle, isn't it? Now, they're not a nation yet, but they start massively immigrating back to the land of Israel from all over the world. Well, of course, Ishmael doesn't like that. So Ishmael starts uprises everywhere, all throughout the land, and the British people spend hundreds of lives being lost in battles because of the Arabs that are uprising everywhere that don't want Jews there. They totally reject the reestablishment of a Jewish home. They still do. And the British are kind of like this. It's not our problem. We really don't want nothing to do with this. We wanted to win the war and we had to get help from certain people and make certain deals, but we don't even want to be here. So it wasn't Elson Chamberlain. It was, it was, oh, okay. I'm not gonna remember the name, so I apologize. But what the British people decide to do In 19, I believe in 22, they decide to split this land right down the Jordan River. We do have a picture of that, Michael. Let's see. The British Mandate, do you see that? It should be the first. It's got a bunch of numbers and says the British Mandate of Palestine. Okay, this'll work. That's a good one, yeah. All right, now can you see a little bit better? You see Sinai, Egypt. Okay, here's Israel, what modern-day Israel is. And here's the Jordan River. They split this whole thing right down the middle, okay? The British do that. Well, they got control over the land. They can do it if they want to. Now, the French are controlling this area up here, which would be the Golan Heights. Anybody ever heard of that? Okay. So the French also make deals with people and they need to pacify the people they make deals with. So they give most of this area in the French mandate in 23 over to Syria, the Golan Heights. That'll be important later on if we ever get there, if I can get moved. All right, well, when they split this up, they make this whole area that they call Transjordan. Now, it doesn't become an official, it doesn't officially become Jordan until 1946 or something, but their purpose was, to give the Arab people that are living in this area who they have promised Jewish land to, which I believe they should have given all this to the Jew, me personally. But you'll see as they did this from this point on, you know who becomes the world superpower? You ought to know, your feet are on their ground. The British people go down. They should have honored what they said they would do and give this land to Israel. They had no right to split it up and give it to nobody. But that's what they do, to pacify the Muslims that they got help from to defeat the Turks. So they split this land right down the middle and they give all this area called Transjordan and eventually they're going to give it to that man who I can't recall his name right now. I think it's Abdullah or Abdullam, something like that. And they give the land over to him and eventually that whole area will become Jordan. Now, what they also say at this time is, No more Jews, they limit the amount of Jews that can immigrate into the land. Again, trying to pacify the Muslims that are there and keep the war from breaking out again. In Israel, or in Palestine, they issue what's called the White Papers. Now, that'll give me whose name it was, because that's the man who put this together. So in 1917, let me just give you this. The Balfour Declaration is signed along with the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. It includes the British mandate for Palestine, established the Jewish homeland, and the British mandate in 1920, and then in 21, in order to satisfy the Arabs, in my opinion, and the constant uprisings, they split off 77% of that land over to the Arabs, okay? Now, oh, I know who it was now. Let me read it to you. The man who split all that off was none other than Winston Churchill. Now that's surprising, isn't it? You remember, if you'll recall here before long what we're gonna find out, nobody wanted them Jews after World War II. They couldn't do nothing with them. There was still the white papers. Now, let me give you that. The Golan Heights, we covered that, that was under the French mandate, given up to Syria. Now, these are all these battles. Let me read them to you quickly. There's a Hebron massacre, there's an Arab uprising against Jews in 1929. There's another Arab revolt in 1936 where the Arabs are attacking British troops and killing and murdering Jews. And so in 1939, the British White Papers, that is by Nelson Chamberlain, restricts the immigration of Jews to Palestine and establishes a separate Palestinian state to be established within 10 years. So now, that was in 39. World War II ends in September 1945, and so the League of Nations eventually becomes the United Nations, and we're gonna have a war that's about to break out. Now this is where it gets good, so let me try to hurry as quick as I can. All right, so World War II has ended. Britain refuses Jewish refugees after World War II. Don't get too mad, so did we. That wasn't a good thing for us to do, was it? But Britain's on their way down. They've already split the land up. They've already restricted the flow. The reason there's a major problem after World War II, after Hitler murders six million innocent Jews, murders them, and any of you skinheads in here wanna line up with anybody that tries to tell you that that's not so, you're not Christian. You can't be a Christian and a skinhead at the same time. There's nothing Christian about that. I'm not for white power and all that bunch of junk. They deny the Holocaust and all that. I don't know where that came from. I just thought I'd say it in case you're, you know, thinking about it. So most of the world other than France refuses to take any Jewish refugees. And I've got numbers here, it was just astonishing numbers. They are often taken, we can't back out far enough, but Cyprus is up in here. They make determinant camps because the British are actually stopping ships from flowing and bringing immigrant, bringing refugees into Israel. They won't let their ships even come in. The British people are doing that. Who had received, according to this man, a mandate to give the Jewish people a homeland because they're scared of a fight. They don't want to allow any more Jews in there to upset the Arabs. That's the same position that America's been taking with the land today. And it'll never work. You can't pacify demons. Jesus casted them out, threw them in the sea. You wanna make peace in the middle, you know how Jesus will make peace in the Middle East? He's gonna come and he'll kill all of them. That's the only way he's gonna make peace in the Middle East. So anyway, neither here nor there. But the British ships are actually stopping the Jewish refugees that have been, they've lost everything they've owned. They've been murdered and slaughtered in the cruelest of manners ever, hardly known to mankind. And because they don't wanna have fights and things in here, the white papers that Chamberlain issued restricted the amount of Jews that they would let into Palestine, okay? So they turn all the ships around, send them to Cyprus and build huge determine camps just like what they left in Nazi Germany. Now, I don't know of a group of people that suffered like the Jewish people. But you know why they suffer? I know one reason. Let his blood be upon us and upon our children. That's one thing they said. So be it. So anyway, this is not where we need to be. So let me, so now in, so here's what happens. The British people are tired of fighting this battle. They don't know what to do with the Jewish refugees. They don't know the answer to have peace in this place. They've already given these Arabs 77% of the land. And I'm going to tell you my opinion. Every Arab in this entire region should have been more than happy. And this was the United States. This is the reason why we didn't sign on. Part of the reason we didn't sign on the League of Nations, part of that was because communists. The other reason is because of this right here. The Arabs refused to have any kind of a deal to be made to have peace. And they should have been more than happy to be absorbed into Jordan and have their own country right here. They'd have 77% of the land and leave the Jewish people this little area right here. It's all they were gonna be left with. And they rejected it. The Muslims didn't want that. So imagine the frustration of Great Britain. They don't know what to do. So here's what they say. Their mandate, I believe the French mandate was due to expire in 46 and that they had over control this. Remember, they're gonna give the Golan Heights in this region up to Syria. here, and so what they're going to do is they're going to just allow the British mandate to expire. The mandate which gives them, that has appointed them to be in charge of this whole area, it expires soon. And so in 1947, they turned to the UN to present what they call the Palestine problem. And they want to end the control that they have and basically say, look, in May of 1948, when the mandate ends, we're gone. We want nothing to do with this. They go to the UN, they say, it's your problem now, okay? So the UN full of just great people that obviously can fix all kinds of problems. I don't think they've done anything but create problems since it's been created. And I'm not sure we ought to be a part of none of that, to be honest with you. But since we're probably no longer a Christian nation, I guess it doesn't matter. But anyway, that's neither here nor there. So they get a partition plan. If you could find it, Michael, for me quickly, 1949. You could probably just go with the armistice lines, probably. The green line, if that makes any sense, if that's listed in there. I'm trying to get through this, folks, as quickly as possible. Got about four minutes. So they come out with a resolution, wonderful resolution, to give the Palestinian Arabs and Jews separate areas to live in. If Michael can find it, let me help you. I think it's the second picture in that folder, a bunch of numbers, and it says 1949 armistice lines. Yep, that's it, thank you, sir. So, okay, here's the great plan that they came up with. It was actually worse than this. I wish I'd have kept the other picture. It's just way too confusing. Oh, that's where it ended, I wanted to see the one before that. Okay, it's not gonna matter, let me just tell you. The way that the UN decided to split it up, now remember, they've already give all this over here, all this area, any Muslim is welcome, any Arab is welcome to go there. No, no, we want it all. So the UN comes up with a great idea. And I mean, I'm talking about, there's probably seven or eight different little areas within this area that they give to the Arabs. So their two state solution looked like pepperoni pizza, pepperonis on a pizza. And every little area with inside there was a little, it was an Arab area. And then Jerusalem was controlled by the UN. Now, that's bound to work, right? Does it seem like it's worked so far? Well, nonetheless, it never happened, so it doesn't matter. So, the Arabs reject it. Everybody rejects it, basically, except for the Jews. The Jews were willing to take that deal. They were gonna get half of what you see here. And they just wanted a home. They wanted a place to live. And of course, the Arabs reject it because they're counting on Egypt. They're counting on once the West turns their back, we'll stomp this little Jew out. There ain't many of them. That's how they think. All right, man, we gotta go. So it's rejected, all right? May 1948, here comes the British mandate is gonna end. They don't try to work out a peaceful resolution. They don't try to transition. Britain doesn't do anything to help anybody. I mean, they just basically at 1159, at 1158, the last British troop heads out of Palestine. They're gone. And at 1159, the Jewish people make a declaration and officially declare Israel as statehood there in the land of power, in Israel, where they belong. And can we read this before we go home? Because I'd like to see it. If not, I can read it off. Do you see the letter from J. Frank Norris, letter from Norris to Truman? I don't know if it'll show up here. If not, I can just, I wanna just share that with you before we go home. Now, here's what's going to happen. Yeah, well, you'll never be able to read it, but anyway, here's what happens. Truman has been reaching out to various members of Congress and the community and trying to figure out where should America stand on this Jewish matter. Now, I know this is kind of boring, But I'm gonna tell you, I think, in my opinion, this one act right here is probably one of the greatest things our country ever did. I believe it's the only reason me and you sit here in freedom and liberty because of how we sided with the Jewish people and supported the Jewish people. I believe that, I'll die believing it. So, here's what happens. So, everybody remember J. Frank Norris? Great fundamental Baptist preacher? Truman reaches out to him and asks for his opinion. North had gone to Israel several times. You're not gonna be able to do it there. I wanted to read you this last little piece if I can find it quickly. He talks, and in this letter to Truman, he talks about the word of God. And he tells him about the, I've given an extensive study on the whole controversy of the issue of the land. The Lord God Almighty in Genesis the 17th chapter specifically states that the title to Palestine is not given to Ishmael. the ancestor of the Arabs, but to Isaac and his seed forever. And he goes on and lifts several Bible verses talking about how God had promised the land to the people. And he said 1,300 years ago, the Arabs were usurpers. Muhammad with fire and sword were robbers of property that belonged to the Jews. A second and very important authority, in addition to the scriptural authority, was Great Britain giving mandate over Palestine for the purpose of Jewish immigration into that land, making it a national home. This mandate was confirmed by the United States government and the 57 nations of the nation. The tragedy and the cause of all the present trouble, and he talks about Neville Chamberlain. But first with Hitler, second with the Arabs, and it goes on to talk about the mandate that is given. And now, Mr. President, it is certainly a matter that should cause us to stop and think about the Arab leaders and how it'll become them in the court, their hands dripping with blood of the Jews, six million murdered by Hitler. They were great friends of Hitler, the Arabs were during this time. And he goes on to talk about, I may email it to you or something, I can't read the whole letter. And so based on this and several other things, Truman, I believe it was 18 minutes after midnight that the Jewish people declared a statehood. America was the first country to recognize the Jewish nation of Israel. Isn't that wonderful? We've been standing with them people a long time. We should always stand with them as long as we're breathing oxygen. And there's a reason for that. We do it for God, not because of them. And so you can get out of that. I've got the pictures if anybody ever wants to see it. You can see a letter from Truman back to Norris about how appreciative he was that he took time to do that. So midnight, May 14th, 1948, the British pull out, excuse me, I didn't say 18, 11 minutes later, Truman declares and recognizes Israel. Now, as soon as that happens, we'll pick back up here. The Arab-Israeli war breaks out. Israel versus seven nations, 1948. Jordan annexes the West Bank. And that's the picture that Michael showed, the armistice lines in 1949. And the way it ends, and we'll come back here, I guess I'll have to do one more. I may take Sunday school or something and do it. Can you go back to that one picture of the armistice lines? We've got to stop. 1949. Yeah, this is it. All right, so fighting breaks out because nobody's ruling over here anymore. Nobody's in charge. The UN placed the British in charge. The UN could not come up with a resolution. They couldn't get both sides to agree to nothing. Britain just pulls out and says, you know, more power to you. Y'all can fight it out. Whoever wins can have it. I guess that's how they did it. I've done my kids that way before. And I'm kidding. So they pull out, so war breaks out immediately. It's Israel versus all these enemies, always surrounded by enemies, aren't they? Now, this is gonna get more interesting. We didn't get there. Okay, they come to a ceasefire. UN does broker a ceasefire. And these are, if you ever hear these 49 armistice lines referred to, here's what is meant. So at this time, I'm not even sure they were Jordan yet. Yeah, they were. Anyway, they had taken over the West Bank. Egypt takes over Gaza. You wanna know my personal belief as to why they do that? It's because those are Egyptians that live there. They're not Palestinians. They don't exist. But anyway, just my opinion. Egypt takes over Gaza, and this is what they all agreed to. Israel has all of this. Remember, the Golan Heights are already taken over by Syria. And then the West Bank, Jordan controls the West Bank. This is how it's left in 1949. And we'll have to come back now because only more fighting, more wars gonna break out. And I've got some examples that I was hoping to get to tonight that will talk about some of the miracles that God performed for his people during the Six Day War. Has anybody ever heard about that Egyptian man? Let's see, he wasn't Egyptian, he was an Iraqi. He was supposedly Christian. But has anybody ever heard the story about that Iraqi man that stole that MiG fighter jet from Iraq and flew it into Israel? Anybody ever heard that story? Well, there's a whole lot more to this. And we got to stop though, okay? We won't need invitation tonight. So let's just stand together. And I know it's just a little bit, kind of a history lesson. I hate to take God's time, not get in the Bible and deal with things like this, but I feel like the Lord wanted me to, and we're almost to modern day. It's pretty quick. I can read mostly through it, but I don't want to rush through the Six-Day War. To me, when I look at that little tiny blip on a map and the sheer minority that those people are in, how they're able to maintain just speaks God to me. And people always tell us that, well, y'all are in the minority. God and his people have always been the minority as far as numbers. I mean, when has the majority, when has the masses laid hold of good Bible Christianity? Never. And it's the same with this. So the excellency will not be of us, but of God, that's what it is. But this tells us a lot when you study the history of these people. You can't come to any other conclusion other than somebody's fighting for them. In fact, I've got a news clip in from a secular newspaper during the Six Day War that talks about no one could deny that the Jewish people must have had help from another world. I mean, that speaks about God. So to me, I think it's important. And maybe if we get time, we can talk about, I do plan to deal with pre-millennial doctrine here soon. I think it's important. I've not heard it preached in a long time. And I'm trying to study it as I can. I'm gonna go through it. And in that, we're gonna talk about the future for that land, those people in that land. God has not cast off his people. And so we'll be reminded of that. I'm going to pray we'll be dismissed tonight. I appreciate you being here. And again, maybe I'll try to do a Sunday morning Sunday school or something instead of taking these Wednesday nights. I really don't like doing that. I know it's midweek service. And I guess what you got tonight is get ready to get up in the morning and battle. Somebody's trying to run you out of land. And if you're not in, you better be looking for God to help you get back. It's the only way you can get back to God. You can't get back. You can't shed enough. You can't take off enough Babylonian garments. You can't do enough. God's gonna have to get you back. But you are gonna have to strip off the world's garments, the world's... You understand I'm speaking spiritually here, I'm not talking about physically. Although it may be physically for some of you. All right, Lord, we love you tonight. Thank you for... The church, thank you for these people that are gathered here tonight. Thank you for the faithfulness of God. There's nothing that any of us, Lord, could gather out of this other than you are certainly faithful to people who do not deserve faithfulness. And Lord, I want to be just like you. I think every Christian in here wants to be like Christ. And we need to be faithful to people who really don't deserve faithfulness. None of us deserve your love and faithfulness that you show us, so help us to love each other with that same love. And we thank you again. If there's any soul under my voice who has never received Christ, may you help them, please, to know that Christ died for their sins, according to the scripture, was buried and rose again by his own power for their justification. I love you. Take care of our folks as they travel tonight and have a good week. In Christ's name, amen and amen.
