Our subject tonight is a Christian
response to xenophobia, racialism, hatred. Exodus 22 verse 21 says,
You shall not mistreat a stranger, nor oppress him, for you were
strangers in the land of Egypt. Xenophobia is the fear and the
hatred of foreign people. We could see this being whipped
up with a hatred towards Rhodes, Cecil John Rhodes statue particularly
at UCT being described as a symbol of colonialism and symbol of
white history and this must go and this kind of mass hysteria
against a statue of a historic figure who after all had paid
for all the grounds and everything to do with the University of
Cape Town, seemed a bit bizarre, and one wonders what all these
people are doing, and did they not have anything better to do
with their time, and isn't there meant to be education going on
at the campus? But the whipped-up hysteria about statues seems
to be a distraction from reality. After all, we've got power failures,
ESCOM service delivery, crime, corruption and blackouts, all
kinds of real problems in the country, And I'm sure the people
guilty of that are very happy for people to be distracted and
to let's go and beat up on some statues. But we've even seen
mindless racism caused by the EFF, which is a thoroughly racist
party that has contempt for the rule of law in this country,
even disrupting the opening of Parliament earlier this year.
And they, instead of fighting for economic freedom, seem to
be fighting for disinvestment, driving out investors, driving
out employers and breaking down the country, chasing away those
people who could provide more employment. You would have thought
if you really want economic freedom you'd want to attract investors
in tourism, not destroy tourist attractions such as monuments,
not despoil the city and send out images of a country that
would make many people think this is not the country to go
for a holiday or the place to invest for our business. You
can see there's a lot of racism involved in this attack on statues
which are maybe precious to one part of the community. How would
people feel if there was a whole lot of attacks on Mandela statues?
And yet there can be attacks on the first Prime Minister of
this country. If you're not going to respect one Prime Minister's statue,
then why should you respect any others? And Paul Kruger, who
fought against British colonialism, why must this statue be attacked?
Queen Victoria? You would have imagined if anyone
had a reason to want to tear down Queen Victoria statues,
it would have been the Boers, and they had decades to do so. They had a century in which they
could have pulled down statues of Queen Victoria, because after
all, how many Boers died and suffered, and how many farms
were destroyed under the Scorchers policies and the concentration
camps, carried out in her name? And yet the Boers weren't pulling
down Cecil Rhodes and Queen Victoria statues, and they had a reason
to. But what does this do in order to provide jobs or employment
or improve the country or attract tourists? And somebody's got
to clean up this mess. So vandalism actually is a breach
of the Eighth Command because it's stealing. It's stealing
from people's time. It's stealing from resources that could be
better used. Why would a beautiful horse monument be attacked? This is a monument in memory
of those horses that died in the Anglo-Boer War. Well, EFF
vandals in their own Uniforms decided to damage this beautiful
statue, throw rubbish on it, and they thought this was a good
idea. But why would you do that? They're talking about tearing
down just nuisance and Jock of the Bushveld statues. Why? As
this monument says, the greatness of a nation consists not so much
in the number of its people or the extent of its territory,
but in the extent of its justice and compassion. And the way people
treat animals, indicates whether they're good or bad. A good man
is kind to his animals, but the wicked are cruel to theirs. But
now they are saying that all roads lead to the colonialization
of the mind. Roads must fall, and in this
they're talking about Cecil John Rhodes, who actually provided
a huge amount of schools, even so much that Nelson Mandela said
that from his primary school, which was a Catholic mission
school, through to his university, which was Fort Eyre, he benefits
from Cecil Rhodes' legacy, whose trust paid for his education,
both at primary school all the way through to high school. And
so even Nelson Mandela expressed his great appreciation to the
legacy of Cecil Rhodes for his education. But now we've got
to decolonize the mind. Well, what does that mean? What
they actually mean is not education, where you're taught how to think
critically, but indoctrination, where you've got to think in
a certain rigid way. This is disturbing because next
we're seeing churches have been burned and Christian monuments
such as that of the beloved Andrew Murray vandalised in front of
the Dutch Reformed Church in Wellington. And we've taken many
people from all over the world, from as far afield as Canada,
Australia, Switzerland, America, New Zealand, all over Africa,
from people from Congo and Nigeria and Sudan, we brought them to
Wellington to Andrew Murray's church to show them the statue
and his monument, which has solely dear glory, solely for the glory
of God and the great souls of the Reformation. Because Andrew
Murray inspired the greatest revival in this country's history
in 1860 because he mobilized through the African street hundreds
of missionaries throughout Africa who planted churches in places
that had never had the gospel before. Andrew Murray's beloved
throughout the world. 240 books, the most prolific
author in South Africa's history, in more languages, in more copies
than any other author in the history of South Africa. Considered
the premier author when it comes to the deeper life and holiness
and revival. Why would you want to attack a monument like this?
This is not just anti-white and anti-Western, anti-education,
anti-civilization, it's anti-Christian. And it's the Muslims who normally
have gone to destroying and damaging statues. ISIS has demolished
tombs of the Prophets Jonah and the Prophets Daniel, and they
smash historic artifacts. And you can see the result of
Islamic liberation. destroyed cities. So xenophobia
is following in the same footsteps. Two Ethiopians were petrol-bombed
and a 14-year-old boy murdered in a wave of xenophobic attacks
on foreign nationals in Qamishlo, Namlazi and KwaZulu just over
the last two weeks. Five people killed so far that
I know of in Durban area. and this kind of savagery and
destruction and violence in what used to be civilized cities smashing,
destroying Psalm 55 verse 11 says destructive forces are at
work in the city threats and lies never leave its streets
and so we've got hordes of racists lining the streets to attack
aliens or foreigners in the streets who have to do their business
through burglar bars And there's so much unrest going on in Durban
right now. Violence, xenophobic violence
has displaced thousands of people, have lost their homes. Many of
their shops being vandalized and looted. And people running
through the streets, chasing out the foreigners. Here you
can see some people running. Imagine running with just your
children and what you can carry while people run, chasing sticks
and pangas and threatening you. And this is what's going on in
Durban right now. This man shot through his ankle. And jumping
on and kicking people, looting their stores, just happily stealing
from people their livelihood. And these are not rich people
being stolen from. Stop killing Ethiopians, I say. Pangas on
the streets of Durban. What does this tell you? Are
these not the same people who were complaining about Cecil
John Rhodes being a colonialist just a week ago? And this is
how they behave. Two pangas, one in each hand.
burning, looting. What happens when you burn tyres
on tarred roads? It creates potholes. It erodes
the... Who's going to fix it? How much
did it cost to make those roads in the first place? You wonder
why we have so many potholes on so many roads. Well, when
you burn things on roads, including people, this is wickedness, this
is evil, this is hatred. And this kind of destruction,
who's going to pay for the repairs of this? And how can you repair
their lives? that have been scarred and ruined.
So this has all been happening in Durban, absolute uproar of
hatred. This is the end result of attacking
statues. If people attack statues and
historic monuments, they're not going to be satisfied. The bloodlust
gets up and if they're allowed to get away with some lawlessness,
before you know it they're attacking people, attacking civilization,
and this is not a good image for our country. These pictures
are going around the world and people are saying South Africa
is not a place to invest in, South Africa is not a place to
go for their tourism. Everyone is a foreigner somewhere. South
Africa, why are you doing this to us? These are signs that people
are lifting up in Durban. The Africa we want has no place
for xenophobia. Our struggle is borderless. Thousands
of people marching in Hilbrard to protest against xenophobia
in Joburg. Stop racism. a lot of soup kitchens, a lot
of churches having to open their doors to people who have lost
everything, lost their homes. And so, a lot of people are angry
about foreigners because they perceive the foreigners coming
in and ruining the areas and littering what used to be beautiful
tourist spots. You can understand, yes, there
must be a rule of laws, but when you break down the laws, you
encourage this kind of anger against foreigners. Mr. President, what are you going
to do to interfere with the black racialism now spreading in South
Africa. Madam, are you naturally stupid or do you ask that question
just to annoy me? You should know the ANC's official stance
by now. We care nothing what these oafs
do to each other. Like Marikana, the union rights, the white genocide,
the previous black attacks on aliens, now this racist frenzy
against aliens. We keep a low-profile tilt over.
Then we come out from a hiding place and blame it on Van Riebeeck.
Next question, please. Well, if only this was just a
joke. But unfortunately, that's all
too real. This year we will be, at the end of this month, remembering
the Armenian Genocide, 1915. Two million Christians killed
by Turkish Muslims. The first genocide of the 20th
century. Crucifying Christian women, decapitating Christians,
putting their heads on spikes, writing an Arabic script. Death
to the infidels. People killed in a church in
Turkey. This is a memorial to the Armenian
Christians. Two million killed. 100 years
ago. This is where xenophobia goes
at its extreme. In this case, targeting Christians
in a Muslim country. There are countries that have
recognized the Armenian Genocide, but Turkey is not amongst them.
Nor is America. America refuses to upset Turkey
as well. The South African Migration Project
reported that one of the unanticipated byproducts of the ANC government's
open border policy has been a growth of intolerance towards foreigners.
Go home or die here, is the title of this book. Violence against
foreign citizens and refugees has become increasingly common
in the country and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees
has expressed concerns of the safety of refugees in South Africa.
These are just some stats on attacks and you can see most
of these attacks taking place in the Joburg-Hilbrow area. Especially
after graphic pictures of burning South Africans, South Africans
burning Zimbabwean refugees and brutal necklace murders, these
first made front page news headlines in 2008 when 100,000 people,
mostly Zimbabweans, were displaced and at least 50 brutally murdered
in the wake of the Zimbabweans rejecting Mugabe's ZANU-PF party
in their elections in 2008. and xenophobia spilled over.
A study based on a citizen survey across the member states of the
Southern African Development Community, that's SADC, found
South Africans expressed the harshest anti-foreigner sentiment
out of all proportion to any other countries in the region.
The hostility to foreigners in South Africa has been unleashed
in a hideous wave of xenophobia. The Rainbow Nation now has a
reputation for xenophobia. Xenophobia is racism. Black hatred
is black racism. Is this what we struggled for?
We are all Africans. Now South Africa has failed us.
South Africa, you shouldn't make promises you can't keep. Shame
on us. speak out against xenophobia.
The Center for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation found that
87% of police officers in Johannesburg believed that most undocumented
immigrants are involved in crime. Many refugees, particularly Zimbabweans,
report being victimized, threatened, assaulted and robbed by South
African officials. That's government officials. Here they are marching,
saying in Beki, their blood is now in your hands. Human Rights
Watch reports immigrants from Malawi and Zimbabwe and Mozambique
are being targeted for physical assault under a campaign known
as Go Back Home. And here you can see people taunting
and chasing out someone who, just with what he can carry,
has got to flee the area. They blamed foreigners for unemployment.
Some of the incidents they reported from 2008 included a Mozambican
and two Senegalese thrown out of a moving train by a group
returning from a rally in Alexander Township that blamed foreigners
for their unemployment. Residents in Sainsbury's demanded
that all Zimbabweans leave their areas and then forcibly evicted
them and burned down their homes. Destructive forces are at work
in the city. Lies and threats never leave
its streets. Many of these entrepreneurs on the streets are foreigners
and so they are now being attacked and we've even had cases where
there have been people detained by the police for handing out
anti-xenophobia leaflets. You can understand why they would
arrest somebody handing out xenophobic leaflets, but the ones who are
trying to speak out against this intolerance have been arrested
and their leaflets have been confiscated. Zimbabweans have
been attacked and killed in their belonging satellite amidst demands
by the locals that police remove all immigrants from the area.
And sometimes the police have seemed to be in very much sympathy with
us. These foreigners disrespect our culture. They don't speak
our language. They take our women. They take our jobs. Over 47 Somalian
refugees were murdered in just a two-month period in 2008 as
part of a campaign to draft Somalians out of townships in the Western
Cape. Masipo Maleli saw a lot of this. A lot of Somali shops
were attacked at that time. and looted a lot of these shops,
looted, pillaged, burned and this was the result, burned out,
charred out, wrecked and communities affected by their shops being
destroyed and people fleeing, wounded, injured. These foreign
people come to South Africa, they said, with nothing, but
tomorrow he has cash, third day he owns a shop, fourth day he's
got a car. Where do these foreign people get this money from? In
fact it's true that the Somalians could arrive with nothing and
the other Somalians would help them and set them up so that
they could get a business going. But of course the Christians
are taking the customers to these Muslims and enabling them to
succeed to start with. And why don't Christians support
Christian businessmen anyway? Local people attacking immigrants
from Malawi, Zimbabwe, Angola, Congo, Nigeria, Somalia and Mozambique. It's justified because the foreigners
are taking away our jobs they say. Statistics South Africa
quarterly labor force survey reports that officially there
are 4.6 million South Africans unemployed. That's 25% of the
potential workforce of South Africa. However, realistically,
they say it's 36.7% that are actually unemployed in South
Africa, if you were to consider the undocumented workers. So
the official is 25%, but really it's more like 36% are unemployed. And Zimbabweans point out that
the reason why over half of the population of Zimbabwe have fled
their country is because of the oppression of Robert Mugabe's
ZANU-PIF regime which is supported by the South African ANC government.
The solution is to stop supporting the tyrant Mugabe who is destroying
our country and we will return to homes and farms in Zimbabwe.
Now that makes sense. Zimbabweans have been murdered
by the tens of thousands by Robert Mugabe in the longfields. farms
destroyed. In 2005 Mugabe launched Operation
Murom Batsvina, Drive Out the Filth, which destroyed the homes
of one and a half millions of Mugabeans because they had voted
against the ruling party in those elections. So immediately after
the elections, during the coldest time of the year, they destroyed
the homes of one and a half million people, driving them out, bulldozed,
burned. This was in retaliation for how
they voted. Rissani lost votes in those areas.
Zimbabwe has committed national suicide by destroying the commercial
farms, over 5,000 commercial farms, which not only fed the
country, but provided the largest amount of foreign exchange, employed
over a million people and provided homes for more than two and a
half million Zimbabweans. And they drove them out, just because
they were white Zimbabweans who often spoke Shona and Ndebele
anyway. And the unprecedented influx of Zimbabweans running
away from the collapse of their country has placed greater strain
on South Africa, which has received most of these displaced people.
The instability in Zimbabwe has led to greater social pressures
and greater tensions in South Africa. A major solution to the
fierce competition for jobs and services in South Africa would
be to help re-establish stability and freedom north of our border.
by helping the opposition parties who actually have gotten more
votes than the government. It just shows the meaninglessness
of elections in Zimbabwe. But without SADIFKA's help in
everywhere, including electricity for Mugabe's Zimbabwe, they wouldn't
still be in power. It's the ANC that's kept ZANU-PF
in power in Zimbabwe, which has led to the millions fleeing across
the border and destabilizing our country. In this age of globalization,
the ripple effects of instability in one country affects its neighbors.
The violence and the insecurity of property in the Congo, Angola
and other parts of Africa fuels the flood of refugees and immigrants
that pour into South Africa. And this places ever-increasing
strain on the limited infrastructure, the resources and the job market.
Consider SADC, South African Development Corporation. These
are the countries that belong to SADC. Well, what are these
countries? Most of these countries actually
have very bad governments. These are the kind of posters
being produced in Zimbabwe. Need help? Call SADC now. We
guarantee to help your dictator destroy your country. Support
African Dictators Club. Call SADC now. We guarantee to
help your dictator torture you. Now these aren't jokes. I mean this is true. That's exactly
what SADC is. It's a Dictators Club. It's an
African Dictators Club. S-A-D-C. They promised them freedom. while they themselves are slaves
of depravity. 2 Peter 2.19 could be written
over the whole lot of them. I don't know if you've heard
the term statism. Statism is the belief that a
bunch of idiots who've driven their country 18 trillion dollars
into debt, like in America, are better qualified to run your
life than you are. So corrupt criminal incompetence, they know
better than you do how to run the schools, the hospitals, your
life, your children. Most bad government has grown
out of too much government. The biblical pattern is limited
government. Huge amount of personal responsibility,
but today people prefer no responsibility and the government must have
all the power. Evolutionism breeds racism, and this needs to be
said. Those who hold to Darwin's theory of evolution have no objective
basis with which to counter racism. How could they? You're just matter
in motion. You're just cosmic accidents.
You're just from goo to the zoo to you, from mud to monkeys to
man. And some have evolved higher than others. So, what's wrong
with racism, if you're an evolutionist? There's no right or wrong anywhere.
There's no eternal day of judgment. There's no objective standards.
In fact, Darwinian evolutionism has inspired a whole host of
racist ideologies, movements, especially communism. The actual
title of Darwin's famous evolutionary book on the origin of species
by means of natural selection or the preservation of favoured
races in a struggle for life. That's the full title. Evolution
leads to revolution. Karl Marx wanted to dedicate
Das Kapital to Charles Darwin and wrote, Darwin's book is very
important and serves me as a basis in the natural sciences for the
historical class struggle. Violence is the midwife. that
leads to revolution. Evolution leads to revolution. That's what Soviet dictator Joseph
Stalin so succinctly said. Evolution leads to revolution.
And it does, you can see this. They've been teaching these very
kids who are running around the streets, killing people, burning
things down. You're a product of evolution. From mud to monkeys
to man. You're just evolved slime. There's
no right or wrong. And they're acting like it. And
Darwin and Marx were racists, the worst racists. Both Darwin
and Karl Marx expressed racist views. It is ironic that so many
Russians and Africans have held Marxist and evolutionary beliefs
because Darwin taught that the advanced races, such as the British,
should exterminate the primitive races, like the Aborigines, in
order to speed up evolutionary progress. Charles Darwin actually
said, of course the advanced races must exterminate the lesser
races. And he specified, like the Indians
and the Aborigines. Karl Marx himself despised the
Slavs, which is what the Russians are, and the Blacks, writing
they were frozen at pre-civilization levels and would never make any
contribution to history. How funny that it's the Slavs
and the Blacks who got the most excited about Karl Marx's teachings,
when he despised them. Discrimination and antagonism
is heart and soul of racism. The Oxford Dictionary defines
racism as discrimination against or antagonism towards other races.
And these are the most hypocritical racists on earth. Many who speak
out vitriolically against racism are themselves racists, displaying
intense antagonism towards people of other races and advocating
policies which discriminate on the basis of race. What's important? Your character or your colour?
There are many of the same people who would idolize Martin Luther
King, Jr., but are not willing to live by his state of maxim
that people should be judged by the content of the character,
not by the color of their skin. Well, that could be nice, but
which of them want to do that? What's black economic empowerment?
What's affirmative action? But forget the content of the
character, forget the competence of the worker, let's look at
the color of their skin. Woe to those who call evil good and
good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness,
who are wise and earn us, who acquit the guilty for a bribe,
but deny justice to the innocent. They have rejected the law of
Almighty God. These are murderous manipulators. Frustrated people
are easily manipulated by mesmerizing slogans sold by murderous hate
mongers. One of the easiest ideas to sell anyone is that they are
better than someone else. Everyone wants to believe that.
The Holocaust in Rwanda where mobs of Hutus slaughtered over
800,000 Christians is just one example of the destructive power
of tribalism in Africa in recent years. That's living memory.
That's just 21 years ago. More people were killed by machetes
in Rwanda in six weeks than have been killed by nuclear weapons
in all of history. You think atomic bombs are bad?
This was a machete-driven murder. Low-tech. In the months and weeks
leading up to the Holocaust in Rwanda, the state radio RTLM
denigrated Tutsis as foreigners, hermitic invaders, cockroaches,
racist supremacists who needed to be returned to Ethiopia by
the river as corpses. And this kind of denigrating
and insulting and dehumanizing of people, that is the first
step towards genocide. Dehumanizing people, making them
worthless. Wild rumors were recklessly spread
by RTLM radio accusing the Tutsis of sinister plots. The MRND government
bluntly asserts every Batutsi is dishonest. The Bahutus should
stop having mercy on the Batutsi. The state media editorialized
that the Bible instructs you to kill snakes and all Tutsis
are snakes. There was all kinds of newspeak
in Rwanda. The fanatical extremism was not
on the fringes of society, but it was propagated by the top
leaders of the MRND government and by the archbishops of the
Anglican and Catholic churches. The popular poet and songwriter
Simon Bikindi composed songs which provoked Hutus to hate
their Tutsi neighbours, much like we've got today in South
Africa. Kill the Boer, kill the farmer. They had that sort of
thing. New terms were popularised, clearing the bush, which originally
meant clearing the land for cultivation, now means killing Tutsis. Interhambwe
used to mean a communal work party, now came to mean mobs
who would hunt out and kill the Tutsi. Even the term work came
to mean killing. It was state-sponsored hate.
So in Holocaust Nerunda I quoted some examples of this extremist
ideology propagated by senior government officials and church
leaders. Hear the words of MRND Vice President
Dr. Léon Maguisserre. The Tootsies are Indiansies.
Cockroaches. What are we waiting for? To decimate
these families. They have no right to live. Eliminate
these people. Destroy them. No matter what
you do, don't let them get away. After the Holocaust, Léon Maguisserre
fled to Canada where he is living in protection. There was all
kinds of inflammatory reporting. In a run-up to the genocide,
the radio, television, library, des mille colonnes broadcast
inflammatory stories and twisted all news to have an anti-Tutsi
angle, much like the anti-white angles you're getting on SABC
and SATV right now. And for the other anti-foreigner
mentality in South Africa. There are cockroaches from cockroaches
who speak for cockroaches. The Tutsi need to be killed.
Hunt out the tootsie. Who will fill the half-empty
graves? Take your spears, your clubs, your guns, your swords,
your stones, everything, sharpen them, hack them, kill those enemies,
those cockroaches. Like a mad dog, you have to beat
it up and up and up. Who will help us fill the half-empty
graves? They mobilized mass murder with
a million machetes provided by Red China. By totally dominating
the mass media, the Hutu extremists were able to mould minds and
fill them with hatred and a lust for blood. The MRND ruling party
planned and promoted the systematic annihilation of the Tutsi minority
from at least as early as 1990. By totally dominating the mass
media, the Hutu extremists were able to mould minds and fill
them with hatred and a lust for blood. The MRND ruling party
planned and promoted systematic annihilation of the Tutsi minority
from as early as 1990. Meticulously planned in advance.
They were slaughtered inside church buildings, hospitals,
schools, I walk knee-deep in corpses in this church in Natarama.
Kigali Hospital, Samaritan's Purse had to remove 7,000 corpses
before the hospital could be reopened, cleaning out the gutters
and the drainage system. If you've seen Hotel Rwanda,
you haven't seen one-tenth of one percent of what really happened
there. Shooting dogs gives you a better
insight, also known as beyond the gates. This was filmed in
Rwanda, unlike Hotel Rwanda which was filmed all in South Africa
with South African-American actors, this was filmed in Rwanda at
the actual places on the actual mission station with Rwandese
playing Rwandese. Shake Hands with the Devil is also a remarkable
book and film because this is the Canadian general in charge
of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. and his brutally honest
admission that, yes, we knew about this, and yes, the American
President and the General Secretary knew of the planned genocide
four months before it happened. Yes, we could have stopped the
genocide. Yes, we should have. Yes, the United Nations failed.
Very honest from a person on the inside. And the scars remain. This was a genocide that took
place just 21 years ago. And this was the result of the
same kind of forces that the EFF and others are whipping up
in this country. This hatred of foreigners, this
hatred of people who are different from themselves. This is where
it went. And most of the mass murders
took place actually in churches and schools. And this should stand as a reminder
of what can happen. This is the end result of xenophobia
at its end point. Hatred. That's what it is. Racism
has been described as the maximum of hatred for the minimum of
reason. H.G. Wells says racism justifies and
holds together more baseness, cruelty and abomination than
any other sort of error in the world. And Hollywood does this
continually by demonizing groups of people. You see, particularly
they aim at Protestants and Christians and white Anglo-Saxon Protestants,
WASPS. And you see a lot of double standards
today. It's disturbing how many African leaders were ostensibly
opposing racism in support of one of the most vitriolic racists
on the continent, Robert Mugabe. Despite Zimbabwean dictator Robert
Mugabe being guilty of the most vile racism and the most disastrous
policy of state-sponsored terrorism, the stealing and looting of farms,
businesses, murder of farmers, murder of opposition party leaders,
terrorising of Supreme Court justice, bombing of opposition
newspapers, imprisoning of critics, reckless promotion of racial
hatred against whites, and the ANC Governor Sadevka steadfastly
refused to criticise Mugabe and I have in Parliament questioned
him. I've said to ANC, how can you ever speak against racism
when you support the worst dictator in the world? You know that Robert
Mugabe has been a hundred times worse than anything. The worst
that was ever done under apartheid in South Africa. You support
a hundred times worse than that in Zimbabwe. And they laughed
while I was saying that. Nobody did criticize or challenge
what I said. The facts stood there in Parliament.
subcommittee I challenged him and all I could do was laugh
and scratch the back of their heads and look at their feet.
It's national suicide. The crisis in Zimbabwe is so
severe they've produced the worst inflation in the history of the
world. Billions and trillions of dollars which are worth nothing.
A hundred trillion dollar note that can't buy a loaf of bread.
Can't even buy half a loaf of bread. People have died of starvation
in a man-made famine orchestrated by the Zanupi of Governor Mugabe,
over 5,000 productive white commercial farms seized by government-organized
mobs, vast herds of cattle and wildlife slaughtered, crops destroyed,
farmhouse looted, people beaten and murdered, one of the most
productive agricultural economies in Africa systematically destroyed
because of fanatical racial hatred. These farms fed the entire nation,
they exported food, they provided the highest percentage of foreign
earnings for the country. These commercial farms were the
best employers, but they're apparently more valuable as racial scapegoats.
When the president of Zimbabwe, Mugabe, needed a scapegoat for
his failed socialism, he played the race card, declaring farmers
are enemies of the state. We have degrees in violence,
they have degrees in agriculture, we have degrees in violence.
Those farmers who resist will die. Now, that's a national suicide. You can't destroy your agricultural
base and survive as a nation economically. And the South African
ANC government supports this racist dictatorship in Zimbabwe.
And some have said they'd like to do that here. Despite blatant
fraud in elections, tens of thousands of human rights abuses documented,
whipping people with barbed wire and razor wire, the South African ANC supports
them. And they talk about freedom. Whoever says to the guilty or
innocent, people curse him and the nations will denounce them.
Imagine if President Robert Mugabe were white. Then he'd be condemned
as a racist, undemocratic, murderous tyrant who should be removed
from power. But this blind support for Mugabe
is inspired in large part by racial prejudice. Despite Mugabe
engineering one of the most spectacular economic collapses in history,
taking one of the most successful agricultural economies in Africa
and turning it into the worst, taking a bread basket and turning
it into a basket case, a dream country into a nightmare, with
his national suicide in Zimbabwe, all too many political leaders
support him, irrespective of the lawlessness and savagery.
Despite half of the population of Mugabe fleeing, voting with
their feet but fleeing the country, many in the African Union evidenced
both racism and hypocrisy in enthusiastically applauding Mugabe
and then made him their chairman of the African Union. Can you
imagine? This hypocrisy and racism was
evidenced at the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development in
Durban. While Mugabe's supporters were slaughtering endangered
wildlife, destroying huge forests and game reserves in Zimbabwe,
Mugabe was applauded with a standing ovation as a keynote plenary
speaker. The World Summit on Sustainable Development. He could
have spoken about sustainable destruction. How long will the
land lie parched and the grass in every field be withered? Because
those who live in it are wicked. The animals and the birds have
perished. oppression, mass murder of Marabele tribesmen, even judges
assaulted by mobs in their chambers and court, journalists and editors
arrested and tortured. How on earth can one possibly
defend that? But this is what you see. Supporting
what they claim to oppose. The EFF say they're against racism
and yet they are racist. A revolutionary must become a
cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. Who said that? Che Guevara. That's a quote from
Che Guevara, the hitman, the mass murderer of Fidel Castro
in Cuba. How can anybody in the ANSI ever
again speak against racial discrimination of apartheid in South Africa
when they are guilty of a thousand times worse than the worst that
was ever done in the days of Avot or Foster? They have initiated
their own racial discrimination through affirmative action and
black economic empowerment and job reservations and racial quotas
in South Africa. If only The ANC would treat the whites as
well as the apartheid regime treated the blacks. Give us our
own areas. Give us our own governments.
Build us schools. Build us... I mean, nobody even wants it. Just the
rule of law. Equal rule of law. But no. They
scream about apartheid, whereas actually apartheid was kinder
to all the population than their affirmative action and black
economic empowerment is to everyone. And they so enthusiastically
support the most vicious, vindictive terrorism and racism in Zimbabwe. And they enthusiastically support
Julius Malema's crude racism and hate speech, happily singing,
kill the Boer, kill the farmer. While over 3,000 white commercial
farmers have been murdered in the most torturous and brutal
ways. While thousands of Zimbabwe refugees have given an attack,
their homes burned and killed in xenophobic attacks. It's criminalizing
of a whole country. huge amounts of demographic suicide.
Taking from whites is not a crime in South Africa. I've heard this.
I've been told by Christians in Khayelitsha churches preaching. It's no crime to steal from white
people. They've been stealing from us for years. You steal
as much as you want from white people, God will say, well done, good
and faithful servant. It's no crime to kill a white person.
You kill as many white folks as you want. God will say, well
done, good and faithful servant. That's preached from culprits
in Khayelitsha. Kill the boar, kill the farmer.
And these people say they're against racism. Talk about a
log in your own eye while you complain about a speck in somebody
else's eye. We are talking about thousands
of farmers murdered. This is genocide. How many farmers
killed in the last 20 years? I believe it has topped 4,000
already. These crosses, they started as a protest. There's
more and more. There's documentation of 20 years
of farm attacks in the country. It is genocide. It's being recognized
by The Hague in Holland and by the International Criminal Court
in Europe as genocide. And there's many countries in
Europe expressing their deep concern about the growing genocide.
In many ways, we now have worse race relations in South Africa
with affirmative action than we ever had in the past. with
Apartheid. Many white people consistently
opposed discrimination of Apartheid and spoke up for blacks who were
victims of injustice, such as Sailor Malone, top Allied air
ace of the Second World War, South African of Huguenot descent.
He led the Torch Commando, mobilized over 50,000 people who had military
records, who were veterans of the Second World War, in opposing
Apartheid. But where's a similar kind of
opposition seen from black people against the anti-white racism
today. Very few black people have spoken up against the brutal
murder of thousands of white farmers, and the massive injustices
perpetrated against the white minority in the name of affirmative
action today. To many people it seems Affirmative Action in
South Africa is nothing other than a cover for corruption on
an unprecedented scale. Everywhere else in the world,
Affirmative Action is on behalf of the minority against the majority.
Only in South Africa and Zimbabwe is Affirmative Action against
the minority and for the majority, which you would think is not
necessary. When the majority run the country, why would you
need to discriminate against the minority? you'd need to protect
them. So in the face of the racism, the xenophobia and the hate speech
evidenced in Robert Mugabe's national suicide in Zimbabwe,
in the ANC Youth League and EFF President Julius Malema's Kill
the Boer slogan and so on, what is the biblical response? Well,
the first thing is to recognize reality. We need to recognize
that crime and corruption, violence, malice, all of these are just
symptoms of a society in rebellion against God's laws. Ephesians
5.11 says, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of
darkness, but rather expose them. You shall know the truth and
the truth will set you free. We need to recognize reality.
We need to expose evil. The scourge of animism, tribalism,
Islamic slave trade, genocidal clan warfare, the legacy of Marxist
hatred needs to be exposed. Those are the real culprits.
Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will take
a stand for me against the workers of inequity? Dr. R.J. Rashtuni says men prefer
an order that permits sin and forbids freedom. They see God's
law as tyranny because it's a control on sin, whereas they prefer controls
on freedom and a license to sin. People don't really want freedom.
They want license to sin. Because freedom gives you responsibility.
So they don't want freedom to do God's will, they want freedom
to sin, freedom to rebel against God. They don't care if that
includes oppression. So the media tells you that Bible-bashing
homophobic bigots are beating up on poor innocent homosexuals.
But what's really happening is bigots and homosexuals are beating
up on Bible-believing Christians. I mean, are any Christians attacking
homosexuals? But homosexuals are attacking
bed and breakfast owners, evangelicals, they're attacking bakers, they're
attacking florists, anyone who's just trying to mind their own
business, and they're picking out on... I mean there's so many
bakers they could choose, but no, they've got to choose the
Christian baker. We want you to bake us a homosexual themed
cake. We want you to allow our homosexual
live-in lovers to stay in your home in your bed and breakfast.
And if you object, then even if they say, well, there's another
15 down the road you can try, we've got no problem. No, we
want to stay at your. We're going to prosecute you
and destroy you and hound you out of your house and home and cripple
you economically. It's okay, they say, we only
want equality. In the Middle East, the Muslims
threaten that Christians convert or lose everything. And now it
seems in America, the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transvestite
group are saying the same thing to the Christians. Convert or
die. They don't want tolerance. They
want approval. And they want to be applauded. And then they want conformity.
Am I now trying to win the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying
to please men? If I was still trying to please
men I would not be a servant of Christ. That's Galatians 1.10. Just take an example of the kind
of racist nonsense we've been told in the media. Have you heard
this classic one that Jesse Owens was snubbed by Adolf Hitler and
the Germans during the Berlin Olympics in 1936? Well Jesse
Owens in his book The untold story of Jesse Owens and Hitler's
Olympics. The black American athlete who won the gold medal
at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin for sprints. In his memoirs he
says the German government gave him official greetings. 110,000
Germans at the stadium hailed him enthusiastically. Many Berliners
asked for his autograph. He is allowed to stay in the
same hotel as white people in Berlin, which was forbidden in
America at that time. Jesse Owens said, when I passed
the Chancellor, he arose, waved his hand at me. Hitler did not
snub me, he said in capitals. President Roosevelt didn't even
congratulate me. He was snubbed by his own president
in America, not by the German Chancellor. He featured seven
pages long in Germany's official Olympics book by Lenny Riefenstahl,
in which he is highly praised without a single word of racial
slur. And yet I've been hearing for decades how Jesse Owens was
snubbed and offended in Germany by Hitler and by the German people,
and yet he says exactly the opposite. He says, I was not. I was fully
accepted, warmly applauded in Germany. It was in America that
he was forced to take the servant's entrance and take another lift
to his own official reception. He couldn't even use the front
door at the hotel where he was getting reception in New York.
He said, this is absolute nonsense. But this is a myth. that has
been propagated for ages. So often the victims are villainized
and the villains are victimized. What is the solution? There's
only one solution. Only biblical Christianity offers
a rational basis for opposing racism and xenophobia and for
pursuing justice. Creation leads to respect for
life. The biblical doctrine of creation
where people are made in the image of God And the biblical
doctrines of redemption undermine racism, undermine xenophobia,
undermine hate speech. We have the same create and redeem
note that cuts everything out, cuts the feet out from under
the racist. Regeneration gives a person a new life with new
desires. You shall not follow a crowd to do evil. Whenever
you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to
pause and reflect. If you are following the majority, you're
wrong. The majority are always wrong. The broad way leads to
hell. The world is being deceived by the devil. If you ever find
yourself in agreement with Hollywood and the United Nations on anything,
you must know you're wrong. The Apostle Peter declared, we
must obey God rather than man. And it's a clear choice. The
fear of the Lord is a beginning of wisdom. Therefore, do not
be partakers with him. They will make war against the
Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them, because He is the Lord
of lords and the King of kings, and with Him will be His call,
chosen and faithful followers." Equality before the law is a
biblical principle. The community is to have the
same rules for you and for the foreigner living amongst you.
This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You
and the alien shall be the same before the Lord. The same laws
and regulations will apply to both of you, and to the alien
living amongst you. Now this is easy to remember.
Numbers 1515. Right there in the middle of
the book of Numbers, Numbers 1515, you've got these principles.
The same law applies to both you and the foreigner. There's
no room for affirmative action, black economic empowerment, apartheid,
xenophobia, racism there. One law That's the word of the
common law. Many people hate the law of God,
but God's commandments are not a fence. They're a guardrail.
They're there for our protection. God's laws are not there to steal
our fun and joy and take away from us. They're to protect us.
Do not pervert justice. Do not show partiality to the
poor or favoritism to the rich, but judge your neighbor fairly.
You are not to be partial to the poor. You're not to be favorite
to the rich. Everyone has to be judged by
the same standard. That's Leviticus 19.15, one of the most important
chapters in the Old Testament. Leviticus 19 starts, be holy
for I am holy, says the Lord, and then the whole chapter 19
of Leviticus tells you how to be holy. What is the greatest
commandment? You are to love the Lord your
God with all of your heart, with all of your soul, with all of
your mind, and with all of your strength. And you are to love
your neighbour as yourself. This is the answer to xenophobia
and racism. The golden rule of Christ. Just as you want men
to do to you, you also do to them likewise. Do to others as
you want them to do to you. How can you possibly have xenophobia
with that? Jesus taught us even to love
our enemies, to do good to those who hate us, to bless those who
curse us, and to pray for those who despise and abuse us. This
is the answer to xenophobia. This is what should be shoved
on the rooftops. The answer to xenophobia is to put Christianity
back in the schools, to get Bible education back in our classrooms
and back on the TV and newspapers and radio by that standard too.
The biblical solutions to racism, xenophobia and hate speech are
found in the doctrine of creation, the greatest commandment, the
golden rule of Christ, the parable of the Good Samaritan, the Great
Commission. After rising from the dead and
before ascending into heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ gave his
followers this great commission. All authority has been given
unto me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all
things that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age. Because of these and other scriptural
commands, Christians like St. Patrick and Boniface and William
Wilberforce and John Newton and William Carey and David Livingston,
Mary Sleason, Lord Chastity and General Charles Gordon and so
many others worked tirelessly to stop the slave trade, to stop
child labor, to set the captives free. Amongst all the religions
of the world, only Christianity, evangelical Protestant Christianity,
brought an end to the slave trade. Every religion practiced slavery,
only Christianity brought an end to it. Therefore, if anyone
is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old is gone and the new has
come. All this is from God who reconciled us to himself through
Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. That God was
reconciling the world to himself in Christ and he has committed
to us the ministry of reconciliation. But remember, reconciliation
is first of all between God and man. then it can be between man
and man. Until we reconcile with God,
we are at war with ourselves and therefore we will be at war
with our neighbours. For he himself is our peace, Christ himself
is our peace, and he has made of the two one and destroyed
the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility. Which is why you
can have people who used to be enemies, friends, The barbarians
and the Vikings are friends and brothers and the Germans and
the English and the Zulu and the Afrikaner and the English
and the Afrikaner can all be brothers in Christ and Congolese
and the Sudanese and this is only possible in Christ. It's
because the dividing wall has been broken through Christ. Christians
are commanded to love foreigners and aliens and to love our neighbor,
to be good Samaritans, to do to others what we would want
them to do for us. When Jesus was challenged with
a potentially xenophobic question, who is my neighbor? Our Lord
specifically chose a Samaritan who was a foreigner, the most
despised type of foreigner by the Jews of his day, as a good
example. He picked the Samaritan as he showed the Jewish Rabbi
describe the Pharisee as the ones who walk by on the other
side and were not loving to neighbor and he spoke of the good Samaritan
and so Jesus turned reality on its head in the minds of the
average Jew at that time the people of Israel were commanded
to treat foreigners with kindness because they themselves were
once foreigners in Egypt when King Herod sought to kill the
infant Jesus Mary and Joseph fled with him to Egypt The Christian
response to xenophobia is to love our neighbours as ourselves,
to do to them as we would want to be done to ourselves, which
is why many churches have opened their doors and helped people
who have lost everything at this time. And not only opening up
church doors to minister foreigners in our community, but working
to help them establish freedom and justice in their own lands,
so that they'll be able to return to their homes with hope for
the future. Biblical principles for Africa, that is the hope.
Now, you will notice, there was a time that they were trying
to have independence for every race in this country. That the
Vendans could rule Venda, and the Causas could rule Transca,
and the Zulus could rule Zuland. And the Cape, of course, had
always been belonging to the Afrikaners and with English immigrants
and the coloured people. The Cape. There were no Causas
in the Cape a while ago. It wasn't that long ago that
the Cape was entirely white and coloured. And now there have
been so many foreigners here. But who are the ones attacking
the foreigners here in the Cape? It's not the coloureds and the
whites. It's the Caucasus who themselves are foreigners here,
attacking the other ones. So you can see this. Good fences
can make good neighbours. If people respect where others
are, you know, if the people were stable and free in their
own areas, they wouldn't be pouring into other areas and destabilising
things. That is why I think independence for the Cape makes sense. It's
time for the Cape to re-establish its independence, which boundaries
should be bigger than these but all the same. Nobody can question
the fact that the Dutch got here first and that the Cape has had
it. We had a parliament in Cape Town
for a hundred years longer than they had anything up in Pretoria.
There wasn't a dot on the map in Johannesburg and Cape Town
had already had over a century of self-government in its history. Love the Lord your God with all
your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, with all
your strength and love your neighbour as yourself. This is the answer
to this xenophobic, mindless war on statues and historic monuments
and attacking foreigners and this hatred that's going on.
I think it's time to say that the nonsense that's going on
in our governments and in our streets and in our universities.
There's only one solution, it's Biblical Reformation. It's important
that people learn our history. We're putting a lot of this material
on the Reformation website, on the Reformation 500 Facebook
page, on social media, and encouraging folks to use this and pass it
on to others. There's a lot of important events
that are on the go at the moment. In this month People are remembering
in Poland the 75th anniversary of the Katerin Forest Massacre.
The people are remembering also at the end of this month the
100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. We are going to be
commemorating also the Magna Carta in June, 800 years of the
Magna Carta, the first statute, the first written restriction
on the powers of government. These are good things to remind
ourselves of. The disastrous direction of secular
humanism and Islam, but also the fact that the Magna Carta
stands as a written restriction government based on scripture,
scriptural principles, and so to call people back to biblical
principles, that we can have reformation. We need Africa to
be saved, and if we don't get serious about evangelism, if
the churches don't wake up during this time or else, we've failed.
Tremendous failure. to see so much violence in the
streets and so much chaos and lack of respect for law. And
it shows people have not voted wisely, haven't educated wisely,
we haven't evangelized enough, we certainly haven't discipled
well enough. And so I do hope that what man has meant for evil,
God will use for good. And that those people who meant
evil by attacking Andrew Murray's statue will actually just motivate
and provoke people to look at what did Andrew Murray teach?
And why is there so much hostility to what he stood for? So, any
comments or questions? I would just like to say, I wonder
if there was no guns in South Africa, where would this lead
by now? No guns? Yes, because they must
try to change the gun law. You are not allowed to own a
gun. About 3 million people were killed
without guns in the days of Shaka, Dingon and Mazalikazi with the
Mifikan and Difikan. 156 tribes wiped out. And that
was all with spears and asagans, pangas and konopkiri. So you
don't need guns to kill a lot of people. In fact, guns might
have restrained the violence. With the guns, you've had less
violence than you had before there were guns. No, but what
I mean, the people that can in the cities can still defend themselves
the way we were unable, we were all killed. If there weren't
firearms in this country we probably would have had a Rwandan holocaust
type genocide here with a greater death toll than they had in Rwanda
because there's more people here that could have been attacked.
So, yes, the problem isn't the technology. It's the evil in
people's hearts. Sometimes technology can restrain
evil in people's hearts. Do you know if the xenophobia
has been, if they've been able to I know that there's been quite
a lot of attacks, but have they been able to at least stop it
for now? I don't know that. Does anyone else have up-to-date
information? Is there still violence in Durban? Yes, I'd like to start
with St George. I've got a friend there, he's
just in town, next to me. So that is near Durban? That's in
Durban, in the CBD. Yeah, it's going to take a long
time I think to stop it there. This has been building for a
long time and of course it just breaks out at different times
but I don't think they've brought it under control yet. I just saw some of the pictures
and it's really nauseating. It's really disgusting. It is. I didn't have all the
gross pictures because I was just thinking to myself, oh this
is going to be gross. There are worse ones that I deleted
or hid. But what this is, is if anyone
doubts a depraved man, here it is. And how many people said,
like they said in America, you know, Well, they've said in South
Africa, if you just got rid of apartheid, we'd have peace and
tranquility and reimburnation and all lived happily ever after,
after 1994, when Saint Nelson Mandela brought in reconciliation
and peace. Really? Well, can anyone believe
this fairy story? 20 years later, officially, according
to the Internal Auditors Commission, 700 billion rand has been stolen
by the government in corruption in the last 20 years. 700 billion. Billion with a B, not million.
Not Zimbabwe dollars, 700 billion. Stolen by the government in 20
years. This is beyond comprehension. It's like 40% of the total worth
of the country has been stolen by the government in the last
20 years. And we were told that if you
just elected Mandela, everyone would be at peace. But you know,
it doesn't matter what you do and how much you give, it's not
enough. Like the Americans are told, if they just elected a
black president, there would never again be any more racial problems
in America. And they've had more racial tensions since Obama became
president than they ever had before. The thing is, you can
never make a decision on the basis of color. It's got to be
on the basis of content, of character. It just doesn't... You can have
the most vile people of any race. Whether it's Vladimir... I wouldn't
vote for Vladimir Lenin or Bill Clinton no matter how white they
are. I mean, who cares? So why would people vote for someone
just because he's black? It doesn't matter if he's black
or white or red or yellow. What is his faith and what is
his character and what is his conduct? We're not interested
in the colour. And so it's mindless to have
these racial quotas. It always has been and always
will be. And the solution to racism is not more racism. And
so this mentality that by having more affirmative action or destroy... How are you going to have respect
for people if you're attacking their monuments and then attacking
their persons and looting their businesses? All this will do
is guarantee an imploding of the country, chase away investors,
chase away tourists, chase away employers, and therefore more
unemployment, and then the people can sit amongst the ruins and
cry and work out who to blame. Yes. We've heard before it was
about xenophobia, but now on the comments on the TV, when
they start questioning the politicians, I think that's garbage. No, the
dictionary definition of xenophobia is still very accurate. Hatred
of foreigners. Racism, antagonism towards people
of a different race. Racism, hatred, xenophobia, all
those words apply. But I mean, suddenly come out
with Afrophobia is a bit nonsense. I think there's some people just
trying to invent a new word maybe. I've heard many people, especially
in a discussion like this, bring up God and the Old Testament. I've even heard a video clip
of Obama stating this as well, about how God sent the Israelites
into foreign land to kill all the inhabitants of that land
and take over the land. and try to make Christianity
look a less plausible option than what's actually going on
right now. What's a good way to... Well,
the first thing is to point out that there were no Christians
in the Old Testament, and that was something that the Hebrews
did. But God was using them as a judgment upon wicked people.
If you take the reports of the, not just historians, but the
archaeologists for what was going on in Canaan, the Canaanites
were involved in the most base kind of wickedness imaginable,
human sacrifice, bestiality, necrophilia, it's as bad as it
could get. And therefore what God was doing to us here is judgment,
but doing it in such a way that the Hebrews come in and realize,
you see what I'm doing to these people, I'm going to do the same
thing to you if you disobey. These are the laws. Blessings
of Obedience, Curse of Disobedience, Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 26,
God spelled it out. So, it was brutal, but nobody
can say that Christians did that. I mean, where in the Book of
Acts will you see Christians doing anything like this? That's
not the way the Reformers behaved, that's not the way the Mishmis
and the Evangelists have behaved, that is not the story of Christianity,
but it is part of the blood-stained story of the beginnings of Israel.
But that's another covenant, that's Old Testament, and It
was, after all, not on innocent people, but on a wicked, I mean
you can't even call them civilization, degenerate system that was being
attacked, who were brutal themselves. So they were basically reaping
what they sowed. So, when the Hebrews violated God's covenant,
God judged them equally and they were destroyed and banished.
So, we're under a totally new covenant now. Nobody can say
that they can find a New Testament basis for this sort of thing.
Jesus came setting the captives free. announcing the acceptable
year of the Lord, the year of Jubilee, came to set the caps
free, to release prison, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
so we can see something very different from Luke 4 on. But who can find a better answer
to xenophobia and hatred than love your neighbour, be a good
Samaritan, go and do likewise, love your enemies, Great Commission. So all of the commands of Christ
are obviously the solution. It's not the same thing as Mohammed
who says, kill your neighbor through jihad. That's no solution. Islam and humanism are ultimately
unable to counter this kind of xenophobia. They can only fuel
it. Only Christianity can oppose it and defuse it, which is why
Any government, whether they're Christians or not, they should
be saying, you know, we should do everything we can to support Christianity,
because that alone could actually... What else could solve this? There's
no political solution to xenophobia. The only solution is actually
Christianity. Historically, only Christianity has made former
enemies friends and brothers in Christ. There's no other solution
to this kind of hatred. And the political leaders of
this country are doing nothing but making it worse. They're
pouring fuel on the fire. as irresponsible as anything.
You know, how can anyone complain about what we had in the past
in this country? They can scream all they like
about straight and maligned and provoked, but actually everyone
was better off and the country was better run and everyone was
safer under their regime, even under the darkest days of apartheid.
Today, under all this freedom and enlightenment, people are
being hacked to death in the streets and burned alive. How
is this in any way an improvement? All they're doing is proving
that Verwoerd was right, that it would be better to give each nation
their own areas to rule separately, where they can live free. Because
it seems that this multicultural mess is a chaos and nobody's
benefiting, except the ringleaders, maybe, at the top. Are the police
prosecuting these people who do these xenophobic attacks?
I know they did nothing about the people who vandalised the
statues, but now these That's a good question. I would
certainly want to know that there are prosecuting them to the full
extent of the law, but I haven't heard anything dramatic or impressive
yet. But even in the pictures, everything
you see on the news and on Facebook is pictures of everything happening,
and you can see the police in the pictures, but it doesn't
look like they're actually doing anything. Well, in fact, that
brings up something that I should have mentioned earlier, and that
is, these attacks happened after the Zulu king, Goodwills Valentini,
made a public statement that all foreigners must pack up and
leave. There's no place for them in this country. And Zuma and
Zuma's son made some similar comments as well. Therefore,
it's possible that the people feel they've got official sanction
from the President, from the ANC and from the Zulu King to
do this, which explains why this has started in Durban. It is
also possible that the police feel that they shouldn't interfere
because this is what the leaders want. So I have the feeling that
this has actually tacit official sanction. Remember, that's what
terrorism is. The ANC got this country through
terrorism. and they now want to extend their control through
terrorism. And what they're doing in Cape Town is classic communist
agitation propaganda, agitprop. Statues are nothing. These statues
are just an excuse to distract the people and mobilize them.
And if they can mobilize them to this, and they get away with
that lawlessness, now maybe you can take other property. So you
start to assess roads, but before you know it you're attacking
horses and dog statues, and then you're going even after Christian
revivalist missionary like Andrew Murray. Where's this going to
stop? So, well of course it doesn't
stop there. Next thing is burning churches and attacking people.
And I wouldn't be surprised if many of these people being attacked
are actually Christians. That's what happened in Rwanda. They
didn't just attack anybody. They were going after Christians.
Because the spirit behind this kind of hatred is of course demonic.
So naturally it's going to unleash its hatred towards Christianity.
And that's what we saw taking place in the Second World War,
for example. Hatred for Christianity. and the demonic, satanic hatred
for especially Protestant Christianity unleashed with aerial bombardments,
the Soviet offensive, betrayal of Protestant countries. And
no wonder Hollywood celebrates it, because Hollywood's run by
people who hate Christianity. They hate God, they hate Christ,
you know they do, because they use the name of Christ as a swear
word in their films. And now, we're meant to cheer
for the people who are attacking us. and we meant to actually
hate ourselves to such an extent that we enjoy it when they attack
us and we apologize and we thank them for attacking us. This is
the mindlessness. This is why it's guilt manipulation. We need to understand a history
so that we can't be guilt manipulated. We need to understand the truth.
Because once you've got the historic context then you're not impressed
when they come out to this. That's why I don't think these
people want to debate me anymore because whether in Parliament,
which they used to invite us to, or on these radio programs,
We bring up the facts and ruin their stories. Nothing like a
few facts to destroy a good story. Lord God, we do pray that what
man has meant for evil, that you will use for good, that you
will work all things together for good for those who love you
and are called according to your purpose. Lord, we pray that people
will want to know what it is that Andrew Murray stood for,
that his statue has been attacked, that people will want to know
what is important about this history if the monuments are
being toppled, that those who are looking at the turmoil being
caused by rabble-rousers will question what their agenda is
and will dig deeper. Lord, we pray, use our emails,
our communications, our messages and sermon audio our powerpoints
and slideshare, our websites and the radio programs we're
able to broadcast, the leaflets we're distributing. Help us,
Lord God, to get the message out. Thank you even, Lord, that
the Tatler has published one of our letters on this and some
of the radio programs of the states have also asked for soundbites
on this and that we've had the chance to get some news media
articles out. We praise Lord that there would
be some voices of sanity raised that you would use your churches
to mobilize opposition to all this and to proclaim the Great
Commandment and the Golden Rule and the Great Commission and
the command to love our enemies and to love our neighbors and
to be kind to foreigners and the various biblical principles
that completely rip the heart out of all this racist xenophobic
hate campaign. We pray, Lord God, that those
who are Christians who've gotten whipped up into this will come
to repentance and come to their senses and have their minds renewed
and transformed and be part of the solution instead of the problem.
And we do pray, Lord God, that you would deal with the rabble-rousers
who are stirring up this hatred, that you'd bring them to repentance
or that you'd remove them. And we ask, Lord, that you'd
mercifully wake up your church that's been asleep to see the
urgency of the hour and the need for evangelism and discipleship
and fulfilling the Great Commission. that we cannot continue to allow
the wicked to brainwash the next generation with poison of evolutionism
that's going to lead to such disastrous behavior. We pray,
Lord, that you'd have mercy on our country and that you'd grant
us a revival of repentance. We pray it in Jesus' name. Amen.
