I wrote a booklet more than 40
years ago on the basic doctrines of the Bible. And what we're
doing right now is one of those basic doctrines of the Bible. And here is a little old marked up, messed
up book. The doctrine of the devil is
in there. I'll tell you. And by the way, if you want one
of these, email me and I'll I'll send this to you and you can
download it. The doctrines are Christian doctrine.
What doctrine is? The Bible, God, the Trinity,
the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, the doctrine of the devil, the
doctrine of hell, the doctrine of heaven, the doctrine of man,
his creation and fall, the doctrine of sin, the doctrine of repentance,
the doctrine of salvation, the doctrine of the atonement, the
doctrine of the new birth, the doctrine of justification, the
doctrine of two natures of the saved, the doctrine of security
of the believer, the doctrine of adoption, the doctrine of
the church. The doctrine of baptism, the
doctrine of the Lord's Supper, the doctrine of prayer, the doctrine of the resurrection,
the doctrine of church discipline, the doctrine of New Testament
giving, the doctrine of the return of Jesus Christ. These are the
doctrines that I wrote about so many years ago because if
you don't understand If you don't get this down, the Bible is somebody
else's letters. Somebody else's mail. You can
get a lot of things out of the Bible. Salvation is very important. Baptism is very important. The
Lord's Supper. Baptism. And the church. The doctrine
of the church is very important. Let me get over here to the church. I can find it. All right. That's number 20. Get there in a moment. My notes are scribbled all over
this thing, by the way. It's been used, like the books
I read. The doctrine of the church, we're going to look at it in
Ephesians 3.21, Matthew 16 and 18, Matthew 28, 18-20, Revelation
9, 11-16. These are all very special scriptures relating to
the church. Our Lord is called Jehovah, the
one who shall become. He's also called Adonai, Adonai
HaAdonaiim, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. The Lord of
Lords and King of Kingdoms, page 14 in Gesenius, page 8 in Davidson,
page 16 in Brown, Driver and Briggs, all talk about this name,
Adonai. Now Adonai in the Old Testament
of Deuteronomy talks about the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
But in the New Testament, in Revelation the 19th chapter,
if I can go find there in this book, Revelation the 19th chapter,
we're going to go look at that. It's very important when we get
into Scripture here. Ephesians 3.21, to glory be to
God through the church, Jesus Christ through the church throughout
all ages. That church will bring him glory throughout all ages
because it's proved, she's proved herself faithful. The word church
means ecclesia, once called out. The simplest form of a church
is a marionette. Matthew 18 and verse 20. What's
the simplest form of church? Where one or two be gathered
together, I'll be with you. And who organized the church?
Was it Peter? Was it John? Who was it? Jesus. Jesus. Who was the church founded
upon? Jesus, not Peter. Who prepared
the material for the church? John the Baptist. John the Baptist,
as he prepared, he said, I must, John the Dipper, he said, I must,
he must increase, I must decrease. And of course, finally, he was
beheaded. Has there ever been a time in
history since Jesus called out a church at the seashore of Galilee
that that church did not exist? No. I'll be with you always,
even to the end of the world. The gate to hell shall not prevail
against you, Matthew 16, 18, Matthew 28, 18 through 20. All churches, we get the word
church, we use that as a universal term, but the church is not universal. The church is always physical,
physical and local in nature. Churches are real groups of people,
very small, sometimes large. Did the Lord give His
church a name? Did the Lord give His church
a name? He called it His bride. In what way are the words church
used? Now, King James Bible was translated for the Church of
England. I want you to understand that. The Church of England believed
in the Universal Church because the Church of England came right
out of Catholicism which believed in the Universal Church. And
they believed that the church had a head on earth. And the
head of the Church of England was Henry VIII when it was started. And then under him the Archbishop
of Canterbury and of course the Catholic Church. The head of
the Catholic Church was in Rome and in Constantinople too, by
the way, under Constantine. They had a head, they had a place.
The church, when they talk about the church, the eyes all go to
Constantinople or to Rome or to England. The palace, the church. What was the church supposed
to do? What kind of a job is the church
supposed to have? Make disciples. Then you baptize. Excuse me. Make disciples. Then you baptize
those disciples and become church members. Teaching them to guard
with their lives all the things I've handed down to you. And
one of those things is the doctrine of the church. There's definitely a difference
between the church and the family of God, isn't there? The family
of God are all the same. The church are those faithful church members of real, local,
physical New Testament churches that are serving the Lord. Maybe
there's one out of a hundred in those that will be part of
the Bride of Christ at one time in the future. And the bride
will be forever. All the saved are the family
of God. The ones called out, the double-blooded ones, we might
say, Jesus Christ died for all the saved, but he died in a special
way for the church. And that church will rule and
reign with him forever. How faithful you must be to be
in the bride of Christ. The Lord's Church today is only
the espoused bride of the Lord. It's only the espoused bride
of the Lord. God shall be glorified in that
church throughout all ages, world without end, it says. All ages, world without end. Now let's go here to the 19th
chapter of the book of Revelation. Let's look at it here. A lot
of people don't go there, but this is where it is. Metatate, that's what it says
in Greek. After these sayings I heard something
like a great and mighty shout, a vast multitude in heaven exclaiming,
Hallelujah and salvation! and glory and splendor and majesty
and power and dominion and might belong to our God. Because His
judgments are true and righteous and He has judged and convicted
and pronounced, sentenced upon the great prostitute idolatress
who was corrupting and ruining and poisoning the earth with
her adultery and her false doctrines. And He has imposed a penalty
for the blood of His bond servants upon her. And a second time they said,
hallelujah, her smoke shall descend forever and ever. And then 24
elders and the four living creatures also fell down and worshipped
God. Who sits on the throne, says
amen, hallelujah, praise the Lord. Then from the throne there
came a voice saying, praise our God, all you bondservants of
His, who fear Him. Now, I want you to see here,
the bride and others are separate. They're not the same. Not everybody's
in the bride. Praise our God for all the bondservants
of His. You who fear Him, the small,
common, and the great, the distinctest rulers. And then we see in verse
number six. This is during the tribulation
period on earth. The Lord is up here in heaven
with his bride, being united with her, and they have a wedding
week of years. Then all for eternity. Then I
heard something like the shout of a vast multitude, like the
boom of many pounding waves, and like the roar of many peals
of thunder saying, For the Lord our God, the Almighty,
the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all reigns, Adonai ha-Adonaiim. Let us rejoice, and shout for
joy, and let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of
the Lamb has come at last, and the Bride, the Church has made
herself ready, middle boys. Not salvation we're talking about
there, we're talking about Brideship. She hath been permitted to dress
in fine linen, and dazzling white and clean, for the linen signifies
the righteousness acts of the saints, the ethical conduct,
the personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character
of the special believers. Then the angel said to me, write,
and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper
of the Lamb. We're not talking about the bride,
we're talking about the guests at the wedding. Now I talked about the ten virgins
in the parable in the Gospels. They weren't part of the bride.
They were guests, friends of the bride. Some had made themselves
ready and some hadn't. Some were just religious and
some were really saved. The angel said, right and blessed
are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
And he said to me further, These things are true in the exact
words of God. Then I fell down at his feet
to worship him, but he stopped me and said to me, you must not,
for I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers and
your sisters who have held the testimony of Jesus and worship
God alone. For the testimony of Jesus is
the spirit of prophecy. His life and teaching are the
heart of that prophecy and that gospel. Verse number 11, now
here's the diplomatic part of it. The bride is not going to
have to fight anymore. When you leave this earth, you
may have to fight a lot of things in this world. You know, some
of you out there, maybe many of you, are not going to believe
what I'm saying. They think all the saved are in the bride, but
that's not true. Salvation is free and clear, but brideship
takes effort, much effort, always effort. It takes diligence. all of your life diligence. I saw heaven opened, and behold
a white horse, Luka Hippos, and he who was sitting on it called
faithful and true and loyal and incorruptible and steady, and
in righteousness he judges and wages war on the rebellious nations. His eyes were a flame of fire,
and on his head is the name inscribed on him which no one knows and
understands except himself, and this is the name Jehovah. The
word Jehovah. We don't know how to say that
word today. That came out of King James. How do you pronounce it? I don't
know. I know Greek and Hebrew, but I don't know how to pronounce
the name Jehovah. It's all consonants and no vowels.
How are you going to pronounce the name Jim without a vowel?
How are you going to pronounce James? How are you going to pronounce
Jesus? You take out the vowels and you can't say it. No man knows but himself. He
is dressed and robed and dipped in blood and his name is called
the Word of God. And the armies of heaven dressed
in fine linen dazzling white and clean followed him on white
horses. From his mouth comes a sharp
sword, his word, with which he may strike down the nations and
he will rule them with a rod of iron and he will retread the
winepress of the fierce wrath of God the Almighty. El Shaddai, in judgment and rebellious
world. And on His robe and on His side,
He has a name inscribed, Adonai Ha'Adonaiim in Hebrew. King of
kings and Lord of lords. Deuteronomy 10, 17 is where it
comes from. Beautiful, beautiful. Matthew
16, 18. Adonai means pillar or foundation. Matthew 16, 18, Matthew 28, 18-20. Jehovah was the rock that followed
Israel. Jehovah was the rock in the wilderness
that followed Israel and provided for them. Jesus is that rock
that that church is built upon. Jacob, a pillar before the temple. Jacob is called, he shall establish. and Boaz is in his might." 1
Kings 7.21, 2 Chronicles 3.17. Now let's read this most beautiful
verse. I've heard, I've seen books written
on this verse. This verse, let alone a sermon. Kai and Christo, Esu, Es pasas
tas, geneas, tu ionas toniona, amen. That's the last verse here,
part of that verse, it means the ultimate expression of Olam
or eternity. And then it says truly at the
end of it. Alto, to him, dative singular
masculine third person pronoun, to him the The glory. Christ and His Church will be
inseparable for all eternal ages. Do you want to be part of that?
It's going to cost you something. It is. Your salvation costs Jesus everything.
But if you're going to take it all back one of these days, To
whom be the glory, in te ecclesia, in the church. The same church as the body of
Christ. That same church is the one that
will be with him intimately forever. That church means one's called
out. Are you the called? We know that God calls all men
to salvation. Some come, some do not. But we
know that God calls again. The Bible leads you to one place
and that is scriptural baptism in the church. That's where the
Bible leads you. And the service. In the church and Chi conjunction
even also here. It's more than a conjunction. Page 208. It tells you it's also
a cumulative particle. Assembly in the church even in
Christ. Jesus. In Christ Jesus. This is what we call a hymn diety.
It's two for one. Figure of speech. In the church
and in Christ Jesus. Unto, ace, extension and limitation
of the thought of verbal act in page 119 in the lexicon. In all, pausas, tas, geneas. In all generations. In Generation
Plum, the church wasn't back here. The church wasn't here. The church wasn't here. The church
wasn't here. The church wasn't here. The church
isn't here. The church isn't there. The church was started
at the seashores of Galilee. But now, in all the ages to come,
and not in this age, not in this age, not in this age, not in
this age, not in this age, but in all the ages from this period
of time onward, Christ will be glorified in his church. Oligeneus, the generations. That
means to generate. This is where we get our word
Genesis from. The word Genesis in Hebrew is Barashith. The word
Genesis in Greek means beginnings and generations. Barashith means
page 88, Bara, in, Barachith, in all, in beginnings,
in the beginnings, Rosh. Rosh is the root there, page
100, 912. And then that little tau on the end of that, that
is a feminine plural in Old Hebrew. Now if you look in the lexicon,
it'll say that it's a singular, but it's not a singular, it's
an Old Hebrew plural. It means in beginnings. In the book of Genesis it says,
in beginnings he had created God, the heavens and the earth. In beginnings he had created
God, the heavens, the uplifted area, all the universe, and then
he took the earth and placed it in exactly the right place. God. In John 1-1 it says, N-R-K-A-H-O-L-O-G-O-S-K-I-H-O-L-O-G-O-S-A-M-E-T-H-E-O-S-K-I-H-O-L-O-G-O-S-A-M-E-T-H-E-O-S. In beginning there, singular.
N-R-K. Locke singular familon. Preposition
in. Page 137. In beginnings. Kept on being
Jehovah. That word is Jehovah. And Jehovah
kept on being in several compartments of Godhead. Even also the Word
of Jehovah kept on being God. Here we see all this. We see
the glory of God. We see the power of God. We see
the power of God to save lives. We see the power of God to change
lives. We see the power of God working through His Spirit in
people's lives to do things that they couldn't do. otherwise. Living when they shouldn't even
live. How many times have you seen
people's lives saved, but were they saved for nothing or something? If you're saved in this world,
God's going to leave you one place in New Testament churches.
He's going to leave you to serve Him. He's going to want to make
a missionary out of you, a personal missionary. First of all, you're
missionaries to your husband or wife and to your children,
and then to the whole world. As it says in Matthew 28, after
you've been cast out, it says in King James, go ye therefore.
But it says after you've been scattered, make disciples. Baptizing those as habitual learners
must they taste their disciples. And then to reign. teaching them
to guard with their lives all things I've handed down to you.
These truths I hand to you. Maybe you agree with me, maybe
you don't. But my job is not to teach you what you want to
hear, but teach you what the Bible teaches. If you reject
that, it's up to you. If you accept it, Follow it. Father, we pray, we thank you
for this message. We thank you for all the blessings
you give to us. And please, Father, use your
word wherever it goes, to touch lives wherever they be, whatever
the nation under the sun. I pray. Father, please forgive
me where I fail you. Please use your word. Touch your
students' lives, those that love you. those that want to know about
you. In Jesus' name I pray.
