How to Value the Voices

"How to Value the Voices"

A Reflection from Ecclesiastes

This teaching draws from the book of Ecclesiastes to emphasize the rare value of godly voices in a noisy world. It urges believers to discern which voices they're listening to—and to ensure those voices lead them to treasure Jesus, trust His Word, and testify of His grace.

Don't Miss the Present Chasing the Future

• Many people waste seasons of life by constantly longing for what's next.
• Solomon warns: Enjoy where God has planted you. Don't let comparison or ambition rob you of joy in today.

Goodness Alone Isn't Godliness

• You can be a "good old boy" and still be lost.
• Solomon observed people who went to the temple, engaged in religious activities, yet remained wicked because they weren't right with God.
• Proximity to truth is not the same as being transformed by it.

Ask yourself: Are the voices I listen to drawing me closer to Jesus or pulling me away from Him?

• True shepherds and teachers will always lead you to:

  1. Fear God – Run to Him with reverence.
  2. Trust His Word – Obey His commands.
  3. Testify of His grace – Share what He's done and how He's changing you.
    • Beware of any teaching that:
    • Diminishes the authority of God's Word.
    • Questions Christ's divinity, His worth, or His exclusive role as Savior.
    • Encourages you to live however you want under the guise of grace.

Solomon reminds us in Ecclesiastes 7:29: "God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes."
• Only Jesus can make you upright again.
• Come to Him. Trust Him. Follow Him.
• If you're not right with God, today is the day to surrender.

The voices we value will shape the life we live. So let's hunger
