April. It's Tuesday morning. Whenever first responders go to a terrible accident, the first thing they have to determine is if the people that are in the accident are alive or not. Are they alive? You know, what is life? Bible says that God breathed in the breath of life and man became a living soul. Man became a living soul. First John 5.12 tells us he that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. Well that's speaking of spiritual life. There's a lot of people that are breathing that have physical life, but they have no spiritual life. The word life is mentioned 409 times in the Bible. Luke 9 24 says for whosoever will save his life shall lose it but whosoever will lose his life for my sake the same shall save it. Jesus Christ described himself in John 6 48 as I am the bread of life. John 540 says he will not come to me that he might have a life. Colossians 3.3 for year dead. and your life is hid with Christ in God. 1 John 2.25 This is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 1 Corinthians 15, 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Psalm 88, 3 For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draweth nigh unto the grave. Some people appear to be walking around with very little life in themselves. The older I get, the less energy I have. A lot of older people have to have oxygen. Some people have to have assistance in breathing. The Bible says, in Him we live and move and have our being. John 1-4, in Him was life and the life was the light of men. John 5.26 For his Father hath life in himself, so he hath given to the Son to have life in himself. John 5.24 Barely, barely, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life. and that it shall not come into condemnation but is passed from death unto life. God is the only one who can give us eternal life through his Son. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. But he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. 2nd Corinthians 2.16 to the one we are the saver of death unto death and to the other the saver of life unto life who is sufficient for these things Matthew 6.25 take no thought for your life is not the life more than meat and the body than the drayment Well, this life, as we know it, will pass away. Everybody's dying around us. You know, our life is but a vapor. One of these days, we will no longer live in a physical body, because we will no longer have a body that is living. But Titus 3.7 says, being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to hope of eternal life. Titus 1.2, in hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie promised before the world began. Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. Romans 6, or John 6, 68. Well, those of us who are getting older are realizing that our physical lives are very short. What's left of them? Romans 8.6 says, For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Proverbs 8.35 For whosoever findeth me, findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord. First Timothy 6 19 laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come That they may lay hold on eternal life Matthew 20 28 even as a son of man came not to be ministered unto you but minister but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many and Well, we certainly, as we get older, are looking more at our eternal life than our physical life, are we not? We're looking more toward the future, where we will no longer be occupying these physical bodies, but we will get glorified bodies. I don't want to keep this old body. Having to walk around with a crutch and having all the pain and suffering that I've gone through and all the turmoils of life, I'm looking for a new body and a new home wherein dwelleth righteousness. This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels will beckon me through heaven's open door. I don't feel at home in this world anymore. A friend of mine just said, told me the other day, I don't really have any desires. Keep living. He said, I'm ready to go home. Romans 6.23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. People will spend thousands and thousands of dollars to try to keep living. to try to sustain their life, but they, regardless of how much money they spend, they're still going to go down the same path that all of us is going to go down. Physical death. You know, John 11, 25, Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. Well, when we think of our lives, we realize that they are just like a vapor. They're vanishing away very quickly. One of these days we'll be in the next life. Verse John 5.20, and we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him that is true, that we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Verse John 5.13, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life. and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Well, when we look at our lives, let us realize that our lives will soon, physical lives will soon no longer be but we will be ushered into the realms of eternity. May the good Lord be with you today in a special way is my prayer. God bless.
