Tonight's service, we are doing Q&A, questions and answers. So you ask questions, and we will go to the Bible for answers. I will try to make it quick. Yes, sir? What did you say on the title? How messed up is it? You didn't change it. It says the same thing as this morning. Alright, everybody online, goodbye. We're going offline and then... Alright, so if you're not here and you're watching online and you're a member of our church, you have my cell phone number. Text my cell phone, not the number on the screen. The number on the screen. Anybody can text or whatever, but text my cell phone because it will get to me instantly. Alright? Those of you that don't have my cell phone number, I guess you can send it to me on Facebook Messenger. That's just giving people the opportunity to ask questions online. But, we already had a hand up back here. What you got? Did the serpent have legs before the curse? And what was that follow-up question? could animals talk before or at some point because Eve didn't seem to have a problem with the with the serpent talking okay so the first question is did the serpent have legs so it would seem to be implied that maybe it did however I don't know. That's the real answer, really, is we don't really know. It would seem to be implied that maybe it did, or it may be that maybe God was going to give him legs and decided not to because of that whole scenario. But that's probably not quite as good of a theory as the possibility that he had legs and God said, you don't have any. Yeah, what's that? Walking, talking serpent, yeah. Well, so, about the serpent and all that. In, well, we're doing, this is Wednesday night study, you know. So, in Ezekiel, I believe it is in Ezekiel 28. I got a question about that too. Okay. Well, we'll go there and maybe. Is it valid to walk in and out of the midst of the stomach of the fire? Yes. Is it always going to be from the midst of the stomach of the fire? And I'm trying to figure out where Okay, so in Ezekiel 28, about the legs thing, it's actually not Ezekiel 28, but I'm going to stay there with one hand and go over here to Isaiah 14 on the other hand. Is it 14? I believe it's 14. Alright, so yes, Isaiah 14. No, it's not. I'm going to have to go to my friend Bible Search. Yeah. Come on. Alright, so, Revelation 20. Yeah, so the serpent, Lucifer, the devil, Satan, the dragon, all the same person. And in Revelation 20, verse number 1. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years." So there's your definition as to who he is. So that old serpent being the devil and Satan. Then you look at Ezekiel 28 and you see that It says that thou hast been in the garden of Eden or in Eden the garden of God. And then it goes down and talks about him being a cherub. And then it goes on down talking about him walking. As you said there. Yeah. Sixteen by the multitude I merchandise. They have filled the midst of the with violence and now has sin therefore Now that he's being cast out or destroying him from the midst of the stones of fire, but he says in, that wasn't in 6th, okay. Verse 14, yeah. Yeah, it's 14, because he says that, I have set thee so, the anointed cherub that covereth, thou hast, thou wast upon the holy mountain of God, thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. And now, that one, I would need to review my, what we just did on Wednesday night, because we talked about that, the stones of fire. Let me grab that real quick. I don't want to contradict myself. And I don't have notes other than the ones that I had here. And I had some written, I think, in the margin. So... It would have been a little while back. All right. So the mountain of God is mentioned in letter D on page seven sixty of our study that we do on Wednesday night. And then it mentions mentions a mountain of God it says the statement is a little obscure as to its meaning but because in prophetic scripture a mountain symbolizes a kingdom or the center of government because Satan was a cherub. Evidently, his origin or original estate was that of a guardian or protector of the very throne of God. Then there is. But. I thought that he addressed the stones of fire there. I would need to dig a little bit and get back with you on it. But what is the question exactly there? Okay, so in the... He's there, yep. Yep. The devil is not in hell, and as far as I understand, he never has been. He will be. Right. But it seems that in the context, it's referring to the holy mountain of God and the stones of fire in the same concept or the same context. It could be Mount Sinai it could be. Yeah. Well it also could be just the throne room of God like mountain could just be referring to like our text there said that it could be referring to a kingdom. the kingdom of God, not the kingdom like in the future, but the kingdom, like the seat of government for God, like he was in the throne room and that maybe there were stones of fire there in the throne room. There's. If you what did you say it referred to somewhere in Revelation? OK, so in Revelation, I believe. OK. Oh, OK. So in. Let me use my search feature again because that's easier than flipping through pages. So in Revelation 15, just an interesting thought that may or may not be related. try to go there and see in verse number one it says and I saw another sign in heaven great and marvelous seven angels having the seven last plagues for then for in them is filled up the wrath of God and I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire And them that had gotten the victory over the beast and over his image and over the mark over his mark and over the number of his name stand on the sea of glass having harps of God. And so maybe it seems as though the crystal sea or the sea of glass may be mingled with fire. in and out. Where does it say in and out? Now it's been. Walked. Yeah, he would have been able to as a cherub before he was cast out. So. Yeah. So, and there is a thought that maybe it's talking about hell. That's where I think some people get that idea. But, I don't think so. I think it has to do with something else. It doesn't seem to be 100% clear though. Well, the way that it is worded here, it could be... Well, in verse 16, it could be just like how people take the verse where it says that they'll be punished from the throne of God or from the presence of God. And people will take that and say that it means that it's away from His presence. But what it actually means is that it's emanating from His presence. And so, in this case, when He says, I will destroy thee from the midst of the stones of fire, it could be that He's that he's casting him away from the stones of fire or it could be that he is destroying him from the stones of fire like the stones of fire themselves are destroying him. And I don't know but it could be that we talk about the lake of fire. It could be there's a crystal sea there's a lake of fire there's a crystal sea mingled with fire or rather a sea of glass mingled with fire. I don't think that's, I don't believe those are the same things, but it could be that part of the new, when the old heaven and the old earth is all passed away, you know, the Bible says in 2 Peter that the elements will melt with a fervent heat and that all these things would be dissolved. And so, the materials of our current creation, it could very possibly be, including heaven, it could very possibly be that those materials are kind of cast into the trash can of the Creator, which would be the lake of fire. I don't know if it's the same stones of fire or not. It's really stretching, to be honest with you, to try to come up with a meaning from that because there's really no other, as far as I understand, there's really no other place that this particular aspect of this is mentioned. If that makes sense. So, where are these stones of fire? It seems as though they are near the throne of God. It seems like it. Huh. Yeah. Yeah. It actually also could be stones of fire, just like when it talks about the stars falling from heaven. The word star is often used Not just as a celestial body like well, that's funny a celestial body could be two different things a celestial body could be a Burning fiery ball of gas, you know out there somewhere that we would call a Sun or a star right but celestial bodies can also be a bodies of angels like they could be angels and stars in heaven like the Bible talks about morning stars and those kinds of things that sang rejoicing over God laying the foundation of the earth. The you know those stars could be angels the stars that are cast down from heaven in Revelation there I believe it's chapter 6 chapter 6 then there's also the possibility that these stones of fire could be representative of other angelic beings stones of fire in that they're they're light they're they're light emitting type beings in that sense as Satan and his minions try to transform themselves into angels of light? Does that make sense? So, I don't know. Honestly, I'm just theorizing on all of that. It's a best-guess kind of answer, really. Yes, sir. New question or follow-up to that? Alright, follow up, we'll have Brother Wilhelm gets the next new question. Brother Holderman? So a body is a collection of members and a collection of members can be either collection of arms and legs and fingers and toes and a head and torso and all that or it can be a collection of members being elements that make up a star or it could be a collection of members of From our perspective, you know, it could be planets or a galaxy that you see off in the distance as far as like a collection of stars, planets, what we would see as just a bright light off in the distance in the sky. Does that make sense? Mm-hmm. Yeah. No. Well, in terms of the creation, finding the end would require technology that would be able to send the information back to us. And I feel like it would take too long to get that information back, at least generations, if you got that far out. I mean, it would be... But it's always theorized that it could be, they think, yeah. Yeah, you know, it's amazing when you talk when you talk about those things. It's amazing to think that that like for April 8th, you know, there's the the solar eclipse. So the reason that we're able to have an eclipse, a solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse, the reason that we're able to have it is because the size of the sun and the size of the moon are exactly proportionate to their distance from the earth, exactly mathematically proportionate. The sun is 400 times larger than the moon, and it is also 400 times further away. And so it makes the sun and the moon look the same size from the perspective of the earth. I mean, that's definitely the hand of God. It's not like there's no possibility of an accident there. But I think that I don't want to try to go too far on to that new topic. What's that? Okay, so, here's the answer. Here's the answer to that question. So, whether you believe that the surface of the earth is flat, or what you just said, flat or round, both sides believe it's round. Just one side believes that it is spherically round, and one side believes that it is flat round. just two-dimensionally round-ish. I will give you my answer. Four million times larger and farther? Google it and verify. You know, Google knows what's up. No, I don't think they do. What's that? Yeah, no, no, across. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. He was saying maybe it's four million times, not four hundred times. Yeah, I don't know about like weight and, you know, full size, no. So, no, and from the perspective of the earth. So, alright, so... oh yeah flat versus round the the earth is shaped similar to my head except more less bumpy okay so it is without hair what with or without water oh man man the shape of the earth without water is actually it is actually technically neither flat nor round in terms of the actual surface it is like this it's like a child's painting it's like this like there are low low low spots if you take the water out And there are high, high, high spots, right? So, there you go. But, no, I believe that the Earth is... I believe the traditional belief about the Earth, and that is that it is like this. okay in general and that is if you put an atmosphere around it it is a sphere yeah an atmosphere yes and so if you believe in a flat earth you can't have an atmosphere because that doesn't work it's not a sphere if yeah you I don't know what they call it what do they call it the sky I don't know yeah yeah I know I know But that is an English ignorance problem. Because people hear the word firmament and they emphasize firm and think that it means that there's a solid something out there. Firmament does not in any way mean firm. It means space. Expanse. There is a theory of that. We've been there, and I've got to get Brother Wilhelm's question in. But if you go back to pre-flood, to Genesis 1, you'll see that the Bible says that the birds fly in the firmament, and that God put the sun, the moon, and the stars in the firmament. And so, it's the space between the earth What? What? Circularity? How do we get from the stones of fire to the whether or not the earth's rounder? Oh, okay. What's 40-22 what? What did you say, Proverbs 8, what? Yeah. And Proverbs 8, 27 just talks about the circle of the earth, right? He said a compass upon the face of the deep. That doesn't tell us anything. Round, circle, flat, that's just a compass. And by the way, compass in your Bible, compass in your Bible means at least two different things. It means directional. And it also means around, to compass or compass something about. It is to encircle. So, yeah. Okay. And that still could be argued both ways. Yeah. Circle of the earth. Because the flat earthers believe that it's a disc. A circular disc. And then circle could also have to do with the circumference. So, yep. Oh, no, I do not believe in a flat earth. I believe it's only flat where I'm standing, okay? That's right, yeah. I believe it's only flat where I'm standing, okay? So, yeah. And, I mean, I haven't been up into space to see whether or not there's a curve there, but I believe there is. Yeah. You actually have to go, I believe there's a certain number of miles up before you can actually see the curvature of the Earth. Yes, sir? oh yeah or your lower elevation but yeah it can I don't know that well I don't know that there is a I don't know that there that that type of figuring will help you determine whether whether it's round or not the degrees at which it turns are not exactly the same everywhere. Because the earth is not a perfect sphere. At least from what we understand. Yeah, those are fun discussions. And there's a whole other can of worms that could be open that we'll leave closed for now. Let's sing a song and then we'll have Brother Wilhelm ask a question. All right. You got to write it down. Where'd my, where'd my bulletin go? No, I've got them picked. Four 51, four, five, one. Let me make sure somebody didn't send a, what is this? Oh yes, yes. Uh, we're not going to talk about that. You can't let the cat out of the bag. All right. If you send me a text about classified information, I will not answer the question. I'm sorry. Some things are just not meant to be known. Brother William. Not allowed. I can't do the second part, so I can't do the first part. Alright, the old account was settled. Let's sing the first, the third, and the last. Stretch your legs, let's stand here. Or you can stay seated, whatever. Yes, there was a time on earth when in the book of heaven an old account was standing for sins yet unforgiv'd. My name was at the top and many things below. I went unto the keeper and settled long ago, long ago, long ago. Yes, the old account was settled long ago, Hallelujah! And the record's clear to-day, For he washed my sins away, When the old account was settled long ago. When at the judgment bar I stand before my King, And He the book will open, He cannot find a thing, Then will my heart be glad, While tears of joy will flow, Because I had it settled, And settled long ago, long ago, long ago. Yes, the old account was settled long ago, Hallelujah! And the record's clear today, For he washed my sins away, When the old account was settled long ago. O sinner, seek the Lord, repent of all your sin, For thus he hath commanded, if you would enter in, And then if you should live a hundred years below, Up there you'll not regret it, You settled long ago, long ago, long ago. Yes, the old account was settled long ago, Hallelujah! And the record's clear today, For he washed my sins away, When the old account was settled long ago. Amen. You may be seated. Brother Wilhelm, do you remember your question? You said Revelation 20 verse 5. So let me give you like a kind of a timeline of where it is. So in Revelation chapter 20 this is after the tribulation. This is before the kingdom. So this is the final. How do I put it. This this it's the final. The very capstone final phase of the first resurrection. Because the first resurrection is everyone who is saved. And so, the rapture happens at the end of the tribulation after the battle of Armageddon. There is a resurrection that takes place of all of those who got saved during the tribulation and died. Okay. So they will rise along with everyone else who's comes with Jesus in chapter 19. And then because everyone who was raised before during before the trap tribulation before tribulation they will all come back with Jesus in Revelation 19, and then the battle of Armageddon happens, and then He will raise all of the saved who died during the tribulation, They will rise and then that's the first resurrection. I know it may sound kind of confusing because one happens seven years before the other and it's considered one resurrection, but it's the first resurrection. It is everybody who is going to be resurrected eternally, it happens right there. Now, everybody else who's been dead since after coming out of the Garden of Eden, everyone who died not saved, are still in the grave. They're still in the grave there and they're in there. So their souls are if they didn't get saved their souls are in hell. So and then their their bodies are still in the grave. And so after that first resurrection. There is and it's not right here in Revelation 20, but right after that first resurrection you have the And it describes who who else will be resurrected during verse 4 During that time like who's getting resurrected besides those who came with Jesus, okay? but then the rest of the dead there live not again till a thousand years were finished and and then they rise in verse 11 it goes on to talk about them rising from the dead for the sake of being judged in verse now between verse 5 and verse 6 well not verse 6 maybe between verse 6 and 7 there's a thousand years that happened there The verse six it says that you know it talks about the you know how you're blessed for being a part of that resurrection. But the end it says and shall reign. This is that they shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years. So that verse the end of that verse is a thousand years long. And then the next verse you're a thousand years later. And you're picking up there at the very end of the millennial kingdom. We call it the millennial kingdom because it's for a millennium a thousand years. And so. So that those who were still dead or who were dead and had not been resurrected they're staying in the grave and they stay there until they are raised for the final judgment. Now. Yes and they're cast in the lake of fire. Chapter 20 verses 11 through 15. Yeah exactly. So now during that thousand years the so at the beginning of that thousand years you have the judgment of the nations which I believe is in Matthew twenty five and it deals with everybody who survived the tribulation. Now you all know not everybody who survives the tribulation is saved. Spiritually, physically, they're saved from dying during the tribulation. But spiritually, not everyone who makes it through the tribulation is saved. And so there is the the judging of the nations and the sheep and the goat judgment that happens. You know, he puts the sheep over here, the sheep over the right and the goats over the left. Right. And then the goats are cast out there. They they die and they go to hell for that thousand years. and the sheep go into the kingdom. So these are people who lived through the tribulation, got saved during the tribulation, didn't die, they go into the kingdom with the same body that they had before the tribulation started. So that would be any children that are born during the Tribulation that got saved, that made it through the Tribulation, didn't die, they got saved and didn't die. It would also include anyone who got saved during the Tribulation and didn't die. And then as that time, so that thousand years goes on, You say, how in the world did they make it? I don't know. I don't know. The curse is cancelled. So, death, it seems, is also put on pause there. At the end of that thousand years, there's a final rebellion. And that final rebellion, everyone who is rejecting Christ in their heart, because they're living for Him in their works, for the most part. They have obedience, for the most part, because He's the King of the world, and He's here. And if you disobey, He can punish you right on the spot. But during that thousand-year reign, Those folks are. They. There will be some who rebel against the Lord at the end of that. And then they're going to be destroyed. It says that fire comes down from heaven and devours them. Right. Yeah. Fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. So the dead that you're asking about, those are the ones who died before, that died and were not saved up to this point. Does that answer your question? Alright. Sorry I brought out extra stuff. There's some that believe that people who lived during the kingdom will have a hundred years to decide to choose Christ. And if they don't, they die. After a hundred years. And they take that from, I believe it's Isaiah where it says, that that a child shall die at 100 years. But I don't believe that that's what that's saying in that passage. I believe that what that passage is saying is that if someone were to die at 100 years, it would be considered as though they're a child. And so people get different things out of different things. And I might be wrong, but I think I think that's what it what it means. Yes, sir. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know, but... It doesn't say that they are, and it doesn't say that they aren't. I I believe that it is absolutely possible that people will be born during the tribulation. I don't I don't think that that part's canceled there's nothing to indicate that it is. Yeah it talks about those that are with child or give suck in those days and that's actually during the tribulation. That's not talking about before the rapture that's talking about during the tribulation when Israel has to flee to the mountains. And so we know for sure that it's possible that Israelis will be able to have children during that time. We assume that it means everybody will. So what if it just Israel can have kids. Mm-hmm. Yep Yeah, I mean, I mean imagine imagine being a Baptist in the Dark Ages and Yeah, yeah, so So, yeah, I mean that's that's As far as yet I believe that children can be born probably during the. During the tribulation and also during the millennial kingdom. Because you'll have you'll have people who. Come into the millennial kingdom from the tribulation that will survive and so they will be able to have children during the millennial kingdom. Because they're in their mortal bodies. Unless God somewhere in there changes them into glorified bodies. And I don't know how the aging changes during that time because it seems as though if you make it through the tribulation into the kingdom, it doesn't matter how old you are, you're going to live through the whole kingdom. Or it seems that way. It also seems as though there's allowance for death during the kingdom. Yeah, I don't know how that would work exactly. yeah so I I read a book I read a book that was a fictional book that went into these details and it was interesting to consider but I don't know that I agree with it completely and so it it goes into it it's the it's what brought up that thought that that like you have a hundred years to decide Your side and if you don't if you don't choose Jesus then at a hundred on your hundredth birthday You're gone, and I'm like that's an interesting theory. You know and it's a fictional book, but but it's taking biblical concepts and Theorizing on how that would like play out if possible, but But yeah, I don't I don't think that that's I don't I don't I I don't personally think that that's correct. But I can't prove it. I can't prove that it's wrong. But I also don't think that they can prove that it's wrong. The context of... We'd have to look at the context. No, no, no. Uh, 65. Yeah, Isaiah 65. I know this is like a sidebar from Brother Wilhelm's question, but... Is this an allowable sidebar? He will allow it. All right, that's good. You know what they say, if you do that where you're at right now, you get to sit in your own pew. All right, so Isaiah 65, how about, well, No, so Isaiah 65 isn't talking about, it isn't talking about the kingdom. It's talking about something else. Look at verse 17. For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former shall not be remembered nor come into mind, but be ye glad and rejoice forever in that which I create, for behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people. And the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days. For the child shall die an hundred years old. But the sinner, being an hundred years old, shall be accursed." Man, you'd have to really draw out a whole lot trying to deal with that. This isn't talking about the kingdom, though. This is talking about the new heavens, the new earth, and the new Jerusalem. There's no sin in New Jerusalem. At all. So it's probably referring to the sinner in the lake of fire. That they're accursed. They're not. Obviously they're not dying because they're already dying forever. They're accursed. They're in the second death. And so, and there's, I mean, it's what it seems to be referring to here. It says, they shall build houses and inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards and eat from them. They shall not build, and another inhabit, and they shall not plant, and another eat, for as the days of the tree are the days of my people. In other words, they're living. They're living, yeah. So, they're living, amen? It does say that they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord and their offspring with them. Hmm. Interesting. And, you know, this this passage is to and for Israel. So how all that works, that's that's just an interesting thing to just sit and chew on on a Sunday afternoon after church sometime. And so you all sit and chew on it. Tell me what you think. But that's interesting, though. That's interesting. Yeah. So that's a fun one. Somebody's gonna dig on this one and have some real fun questions. I might not answer them live, though. So, alright. Does that answer your question, Brother Wilhelm? Do you have a follow-up in this same subject, or is it something different, Brother Bella? Don't ask the question, just tell me. Is it different? It's a new question? Okay, then let's sing a song and we'll do a new question. Alright. Remain seated. Don't move. I'm kidding. What? Just move your mouth. 10. Him number 10. I'm going with the ones Brother Bella picked, so if you don't like him, complaint department's right back there. Alright. I'm just kidding. If you don't like them, you need to get right. Alright. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back, no turning back. That's really low. That's really low. Not quiet, low. Though no one join me, still I will follow, Though no one join me, still I will follow, Though no one join me, still I will follow, No turning back, no turning back, The world behind me, The cross before me. The world behind me. The cross before me. The world behind me. The cross before me. No turning back. No turning back. Amen. All right. Brother Bella, you have a question. Now, let me say something real quick here. if we go, if we keep going a lot, it's going to be like the regular service time. So I told everybody we'd be done early. So we got to be done for 830 brother Bella. All right. All right. You got 14 seconds. Ask your question. No, no. Questions, not statements. So, in Revelation 3, your question is, why do lukewarm believers not go to hell? when it says in Revelation 3 that I will spew you out of My mouth. Alright. You are coming to this passage with a lot of assumptions. Let me let me well, it's not actually him coming with the assumptions. It's someone else asking him this question So the assumption is that everyone y'all y'all y'all good. The assumption here is that every person In the church at Laodicea is a Christian There that's an assumption that you're coming to here Another assumption that you're coming to is that being spewed out of His mouth has something to do with eternity. Let's read the whole letter to the church at Laodicea. It's Revelation 3. Verse number 14, And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot. I would thou wert cold or hot, so then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth." Now, before we read any more, let me draw your attention to some of the pronouns. Revelation chapter 3. Notice in verse number 15, The third word is what? Thy. Okay? Now, how about after the comma, the second word? Thou. Thou. And then the third word? Art. Okay? And then after the colon, the third word? Thou. After the colon there in verse 15. Thou, and then the next word, Wirt. In verse 16, and the fourth word is what? Thou, and the next word? Art. And then, well, on mine it's the end of the next line, but after the comma, I will spew who? We'll stop there for a second. What person is that? Is it first person, second person, or third person? It is second person. First person is I. I'm saying verse 15 and 16. All of those pronouns that I brought up are second person. Second person is not the person speaking, but the person they're speaking to. And then is it second person singular or second person plural? It's singular. That is exactly right. So, to whom is this letter addressed? Is this letter addressed to the church at Laodicea? It is not. It is addressed to the angel of the church. only the angel of the church. Notice when he quotes the angel of the church in verse 17, because thou sayest, I am rich, not we, I am rich, that's first person singular, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich, and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that thy, and that the name of thy, or shame rather, that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear, and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chase, and be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock, if any man..." Now this, that's an open invitation, "...if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him," any man, "...and will sup with him, and he with Me." And then again, this is open to him, just like if you're saying if one would do this, "...to him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame." and am set down with my Father in His throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." You say, well, does that then apply to the churches? Sure, it applies to the churches, but it is written to the angel, the angel of the church at Laodicea. So, you're coming to this assuming that it's writing to all Christians everywhere, anytime, anyplace. The actual context would denote that it's not speaking to all Christians. It's not speaking to Christians anywhere. It's speaking to an individual Christian at a specified location. That individual Christian, which we assume that everybody understands that the angel that he's speaking to here is a human who is a messenger on behalf of that, well, supposed to be a messenger on behalf of that church, or on behalf of God to that church. It would be the pastor of that church. Okay? So, he is speaking to the pastor of that church. Is he speaking to the pastor of that church about the acts of that church? Possibly. But he is speaking primarily to the pastor of that church about his own life. Can it apply to the whole church? Sure it can. Now, we're assuming that that pastor is saved. Do we know that for sure? Okay. So where's the problem? Don't know if he's really saved or not. Now, then, let's deal with another assumption. Another assumption is that... Now, I would venture to say that maybe he's not saved. You're asking me a what if? So, hold on. I would venture to say that he probably is not because it says in verse 17, Thou sayest, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. Yeah. And then he gives him an invitation to receive the riches of God. Now, can I absolutely say he's not saved? I don't think I can absolutely say he's not saved, but it seems as though he very well may not be. So, now, say He is saved. What's the penalty here? I'll spew Thee out of my mouth. Is that talking about eternity? Do we have to assume that that's talking about eternity? I will spew Thee out of my mouth? What's that? But do we rightly assume that spewing Him out of His mouth is speaking of eternity? Where in any of the other letters to the angels of the churches do we see God speaking of them in matters of eternity and not matters of their present day issues? That's not to say that He doesn't. But I'm asking the question. And so, spewing Him out of His mouth may very well have to do with His present day problem. His present day life. Well, present day then, you know, about 95 A.D. or A.D. 95. So the issue here is that someone is trying to take this passage and use it to tell you that lukewarm Christians go to hell. There's also the matter of the messenger of the question that's being brought to you. And that is, going to this and asking, what is the standard? Maybe asking the follow-up question to this person asking you this question. What is the standard of hot, cold, and lukewarm? And where in the Bible do you find that standard? Who determines whether you're hot, cold, or lukewarm? And in what way? And in what way? Now, so further though, you would ask this other question. Okay, he's not following commandments. Follow up this same question to that person. Are you? qualified to even discuss this, to even come to this in a position of authority, because if you're going to come to the Bible in a position of authority and try to say, this is what the Bible says, and you're going to tell people that they're going to go to hell because they fit in this category, where do you fit in this category? Okay, so then you ask the question, can I rest in the judgment or discernment of a person who knows that they are lukewarm? Can I follow the logic of someone who believes they're headed to hell and is doing nothing about it? There you go. So, repent, and believe the Gospel. So, that's the issue here. You've got someone who is very obviously not saved, trying to interpret the Bible, to trip you up. Because the goal here for this person asking you this question is not to justify himself necessarily, but to bring you to a position where he can look at you as lower than him. Or other people as lower than him. This would be endless questions in genealogies. It's a question that is very ignorant of what's going on in the passage. And ignorant of the rest of the Word of God. Because if you cherry-pick verses out and say, see here it says this, and then you don't look at how this passage of verses fits with the rest of the Bible, You can't properly interpret the Word of God without rightly dividing the Word of Truth. You have to consider this passage in light of the rest of the Bible and in light of its own context. Does that make sense? I don't think he has control over that. But he does have control over how often he talks to him and what he talks about and things, so. Does that answer your question? Yes. Okay. Alright. Alright. So... Are there other verses that you can talk about? There's other verses about how to have a goddamn bad day, things like that. There's other things that you can do to have a better day, things like that. Hmm. So, let me show you a tool here. Do you have Blue Letter Bible App? Okay, go to this passage, Revelation 3, and then go down to verse number... how about verse 16, and tap on, like the middle of the verse, just tap on it, like tap on the word lukewarm or whatever, and see this menu that pops up? Okay, so that menu, go to the cross-references, TSK, and then all the passages that deal with that. Well, it looks like it doesn't break it down. It just says, I will spew thee out of my mouth. So, all the passages that deal with that. So, Revelation 2.5 there. Remember, from whence thou art fallen. It doesn't really deal with, it just says, I'm going to remove your candlestick. Yeah. So I have an illustration. Yesterday. You don't remember? all right yesterday we were at the gas station okay and we're at the gas station and my wife likes her coffee really hot and very sweet too she likes it really hot okay i like my coffee in such a way that i can just drink it Not sip it, drink it, just gone, right? No, not like that. But I like to be able to drink my coffee, so I like it to be slightly over body temperature. Warm enough to where it's warm, but not warm enough to where I can only sip it because it burns me. And so, I happened to concoct in a very careful way without knowing it, a temperature of coffee that was exactly the temperature of her body. And so, I said, here, try my coffee. And I put the coffee cup up to her mouth, and poured it in, and she began to choke. Because she couldn't tell that the coffee was in her mouth. Because it was the exact temperature of her mouth. And so, it was neither hot nor cold, but because it was lukewarm, she spewed it out of her mouth. Well, she actually breathed it into her lungs. So, sometimes we dig deep into these things and say, look, he says he's going to spew them out of their mouth. They're going to hell. It doesn't say they're going to hell. It doesn't say they're not either. But jumping to the conclusion that they are, isn't necessarily fitting. So, jumping to the conclusion that they are, would be taking all of the rest of the Bible that talks about being secure in Christ and His work at Calvary, and completely ignores it. And in order to do that, you have to kind of force being spewed out of somebody's mouth to contradict Dozens of Scriptures that agree with each other on the topic. And so, there's just a lot of... It's a mess, is what it is. Oh, you got your right. Okay. Amen. Alright. If you have a question, save it for later. No, I'm kidding. You can text it to me if it's really important. Alright. Do we have a new topic or a follow-up question? Okay. After this next song, one more question and that's cut off. So, what? Would you like a bottle of water? What's your follow-up, brother? My breath is... Yeah, I don't think that's... I don't think it applies. Okay. Alright. Do we have any new questions? We don't have any new questions. Well, we will close with a song then. Unless somebody comes up with a new question while we're singing the song. Oh, I need to check and see if anybody sent me a question on my phone. But 389... Actually... Actually, I was thinking about another song. It's close to that one, Brother Terry. But it's not that one. And that's not that one. Okay, there it is. Okay. Okay, 484. All right. I had a phantom text there. Anybody ever have those? You think it's texting? You think your phone's buzzing and it's not? It's just your insanity? I'm just kidding. All right, 484. hmm a child of the king you can remain seated once i was clothed in the rags of my sin wretched and poor lost and lonely within but with wondrous compassion the king He in pity and love took me under his wing. Oh, yes, oh, yes, I'm a child of the King. His royal blood now flows in my veins, And I who was wretched and poor now can sing, Praise God, praise God, I'm a child of the King. Now I'm a child with a heavenly home My Holy Father has made me His own And I'm cleansed by His blood and I'm clothed in His love And someday I'll sing with the angels above Oh yes, oh yes, I'm a child of the King His royal blood now flows in my veins And I who was wretched and poor now can sing Praise God, praise God, I'm a child of the King Brother Travis is working hard back here. You're just scratching your head? Scratching your head means you have a question. Nope, that's it. A whole lot of people talk about it a lot. Makes for good preaching. Amen. All right. We're going to close in prayer. If you're not saved, don't leave and die and go to hell. See somebody. Get saved today. Amen. All right. Let's pray. Lord, we thank You for Your Word. We thank You, Lord, for the opportunity to just look at these things. And Lord, we thank You for the privilege of being able to just study Your Word and ask questions and talk about these things, Lord. We just look forward to all that you're going to do as we apply the pliable aspects of these things to our lives. And Lord, we pray You'd bless, Lord. And Lord, may we remember what You've done for us all the day.
