When you're talking with another for a short while, the Lord will enable us to worship according to the most prescriptive way. Genesis chapter 5, and you can read best number 5. And all the days that Adam lived were 915 years. And he died. And especially these words, and he died. There are four things, three or four things, suggested to us as a proposition in these few words. There's the question, first of all, why do people die? Why do you, why will I have to die like all of them before? And secondly, when? When do people die? They die all the time, but when? And finally, how will they die? And it can be finally as well how the unbeliever dies and the believer. There's a great difference between the death of the unbeliever and the death of the believer. But just a few words of introduction first of all. We have in these two bodies, you could say, the Holy Spirit's epitaph on the tombstone of Adam. And he died. An epitaph of his life at Tokyo. what a tombstone it is, not a dead tombstone, a tombstone stolen by the power of the Word of God, and he died. There are a number of others, but six or more together. And notwithstanding their longevity, the years, days in his life. It is also true with respect to each one of them, but that is the repetition. Every time. He does it. I don't know if you know this. If you are living in the world, following, living in the world, then there is only one exception. There was no reference to him as God. And his name, as you know very well, was Enoch. He didn't die. He was killed before. We are told that Enoch was with God and he was not. Why? For God took him. And Enoch was a shadow and a type of Christ's resurrection and ascension. He was a shadow and type of Christ's death and resurrection and ascension. That must be applied. It was a shadow and time of his death, of his resurrection. It must be implied that it was a shadow and time of his death and resurrection. That was him. And that was before the flood was, before God came out to destroy the old world. We have a time of the ascension of Christ, even then. So the Word of God won't do it. And then we have another time of the resurrection. In the Old Testament times, in the Old Testament dispensation, In the Old Testament this was economy, and that guy was a writer, and he read in separate things, few things about his ascension, in verse 10, yes. And he said, it was just a hard thing. He was addressing Elisha, but two of them were together. Nevertheless, it is a shame when I take it with me. it shall be so unto thee. But he hoped it shall not be so. He had asked to get a double portion of the Spirit after Elijah would leave him. And in verse 11, verse 12, And it came to pass as they still went on Just think of it. Picture a man, he ran, and talked, and behold, there appeared the chariot of life, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder, and the light shone on each of them by a whirlwind into heaven. Here was another type of Christ the Saviour. But what a whirlwind, what a fight, what a challenge. the angels of the Most High, whatever the power and glory of God. And of course we have, and I won't go into that, maybe that's where I should spend my time, but I won't go into it at all, but just mention a few things. The great Amitabha, the Lord Jesus Christ, But here, we have a fragment of that in the Gospels, especially in the Acts of the Apostles. And it's very interesting of a target, then, that it is eleven disciples, to the Lord of Hosts. And from that mount, that you are saying, taking up a burden. And that load was so near to breakers for any problem which could cause a repression and a fracture due to that positive message. Before he ascended, before he was taken up, he gave his disciples a commandment and a promise. And the pronoun was that they would remain up to the dusk, they would remain that, they would remain and cherish them. And then the promise, till they would be down, they said. A Jew was paroled from on high. Yes sir, they saw him being taken down. And there were two anxious people who were sitting beside him. There were many angels there too, that wasn't sick. But what sickness is it that Christ was born? It was the second step of his exaltation. The first step was his resurrection from the dead. The second was his ascension. The thought was simply a voice out of God the Father, and this last step, just think of it, there's only one more step to go. It's coming again to judge the world. What a glorious and blessed event this has. What a privilege to behold such a glorious The ascension of the Lord and Savior. It's a role model that they kept, for the short while they had, that they kept chasing Him. I wondered what was in their thoughts, what was going through their minds. Possibly they didn't have time to think about this, or their lives to be accessed, but just ageing. I came to the end, and I clung to the moment of the sight. I clung to the cause of essence. a child of God's glory and his own glory. For all power is given in heaven and on earth. And then the two initiates that were with him, beside the disciples, they turned to him to find where he is here. And I've just read the words, just beautiful words, just in the Acts of the Apostles. And when he said to them, and when he had spoken these things for them to hear, he was taken up. He was taken up. He was warned of it. Warned by the angels of God and by the power of God the Father. As if God the Father was taken to him. that he was worth rewarding. Yes. And while they were there to personally tell what happened, as they went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel. They were there for their comfort. They were there for their encouragement. And what did they say? which also said, ye men of Galilee, the angels knew them, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? The same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall swallow him in like manner as he has taken you into heaven. Then returned the Pope to Jerusalem from the Mount called Damascus, and they returned with joy. They returned to his children. They didn't have Christ. Yes, they had Christ in his word of promise. Yes. He was with them. He's always with his people. Oh, you are a Christian. What a privilege that he's with you. Yes, and that is your friend. She was their friend. A friend that loves you. Loves you. Yes, let me say it to you. That loves you at all times. and stitches it closer than any brother. Oh, what a thing. Isn't that what the thing of it is? What a thing we have in Jesus. Well, I think he was in that short introduction and we just went through it once. And he died. Why did he die? Why are we all wounded? Well, the first and foremost answer, first of all, is that we die because of sin. Each one of us, and everyone who's committed to the world from the beginning of time to the end of time. That is the reason for his death. One of the reasons, there are quite a number of reasons, but that's the real sin. Sin of their nature, who can fathom what sin, that's it. And sin of their thoughts, words and actions. Sin of a mission, sins of a commission. that you can claim as your own, and I can claim as my own. We cannot trust it. Yes. So, it's wonderful, wonderful. And the next one, which again separates them, is a relationship. with Adam, the first person that God created, a relationship with ourselves, a recoverment. So we can hear this again and again, that when God created Adam, he created him in his own image, knowledge, whiteness and oldness, with dominion over What a person that must have been that God had created. And those that God had created, He had provided for them, of course. He placed them in the Garden of Eden to keep the Garden and to bless it. And of you it was kept and blessed very well by the quietly remained in the state and condition which God created. For a long, nobody can be sure of that, but he must have remained like that for a time. God said, give the liberty to eat of the fruit of the knowledge of all the trees that were in the garden. with the exception of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God said to him, The day thou eatest of them, thou shalt surely die. And Adam ate of them for better or better. And of course, he sinned against God. Sinned against God. And of course, we sinned in mankind, but the covenanted sinned in and fell with it. It is not social transgression. Social transgression. There is no doubt. I am not a doubt whatsoever. When Adam sinned, the moment, the very moment Adam sinned against God, he exposed himself and God would want to come from it by ordinary generation to the end of time, to spiritual death, to natural death and to the death that is eternal. What a fearful inheritance that he left for his posthumous death. For what? That's the only reason. That's another reason. That's taught us in scripture very clearly. Paul, writing to Romans, teaches this doctrine. very, very profoundly educated in what it is in Romans. Chapter 5, verse 12, verse 12 and 14, and verse 18 as well. Of course, if you go further down as well, please, if you're before it, just in a nutshell, you could say, chapter 5 of Romans, verse 12, But it says there, prayerful, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed upon all men for the dawn of sin. for until the law of sin, the law of sin was in the world, but sin is not included when there is no law. Nevertheless, I put in damnation from Adam to Moses, even over them that have not sinned, after the submergence of Adam's transgression, who was the figure of Cain, that was to come. Do you notice that Pope Paul, whatever he is writing, is never far from his master, who is a figure of faith. And in verse 18, therefore, as by the offence of one, judgement came upon all men. to condemnation. Even so, by the righteousness of one, the three gifts came upon all men to justification. Therefore, by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation. That's their process of teaching. And that's the teaching of Scripture. That Adam's sin was purged into his posterity. And you know this, what a cat in his head. That sin, Adam's sin, exposed him to all the mysteries of this life. And we only have him to us now. to all of the citizens of the world, to death itself, to the pains of hell forever. I have three doubts. died spiritually, at times not of death, but he didn't die of death. And it's not your death that is emphasized in this chapter, but you're currently separate after your death from spiritual death. And he died. Every one of us died. because it's the punishment of God upon sin, the penalty, and the judgment of God. That's not it, that's racism. All these things are racism, for you and I have finally understood. Sin and the judgment of God upon it, and Punishment and the penalty that's in this. My teacher, almost as old as he is now, when he began at the time when he was four, It's very interesting that he begat power, two times at least, before he begat sin. And he begat others afterwards, but for him only sin was mentioned. He begat sins in his own likeness and after his own image, not in the likeness to the image of God, but it is sold like this. Do you know why Satan is mentioned? It is very interesting. There is nothing in the world that is not interesting. Isn't that true? Nothing in this world is not interesting and interesting and interesting. And we will be eternally interesting. The Lord said, believe in people. Why does He say that? Because of the self-sacrifice. What's good about the life after which Christ was redeemed? And not only Christ was good in the world, but the judge that he was called to redeem and save. You can't separate the two. In eternity, before the world was, or in time, Christ loved the church. Christ loved the church, as David himself loved it. And when he was issued, what he said to his disciples, what he said to his disciples, he said this to his disciples, along with many others, he said, ask Father, he said to me, so am I. So that's why Seth was honored. This was a certain flaw in the line that Christ was going to be. When you think of Christ going to be, there's always the one who's going to be, or Christian faith, but what does he do? How wishful that you were there. How wishful that I was there. We were there because he's a sovereign God. He does what he likes, what he pleases. Not only the inhabitants of the earth, but also the hosts of heaven. And he And what are, what are deaths? What are deaths when you die? No, you hear that text, Walter, the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord. So when do people die? So that's the next question. But you can answer to that. There's one answer to that when people die. They die at a certain time. For instance, they die at the moment before they're born. They die after they're born. In fact, they die when they're young, they die in their teens, they die even in their twenties, thirties, forties, fifties. They die at a few different times. But where we must leave it, what a blessing is that they don't die at the same time. And no one knows when he or she will die. Unless the Lord just reveals it to people. before no one, and must be still to be said to be a God, would have died. Generally speaking, no one knows what would have died. But that they are going to die, and die in the midst, that's a fact, that's a truth. And everybody will die when Well, there's a simple, we shouldn't say it's a simple answer, it's a simple answer to die at God's appointed time. Not a moment before it, and not a moment after it. So when you and I will die, we'll die at his time. And his time is the best time. And as ever he says it's the best. It's time. It's appointed, Paul said, Hebrews Paul said it, unto men. Yes, it's right to the Hebrews. It is appointed unto men. What's to die? What gives up love when doubt is out? Well, that's just a few things. I'm sure you've added quite a number of things yourself about when do people die. But that's the primary reason. They die at God's appointed time. And how do they die? What do they die? Well, that's another sort of answer. They die in different ways, for instance. They die through different causes, and through different and varied illnesses and diseases that are innumerable. The causes of death, the prophets of God, and the noble of things that cause people's death. But it is God's prerogative not to take away life. He gave life as He can take it away. That's His prerogative. Yes, there are many ways different means and different causes of people dying. Even people taking their own lives. But that doesn't say that the time before that time, God dies before his time. or even those who are together in their own life. It is God that appoints death, whoever it is, whatever way He appoints it, end of time, that's not the truth. Now just a few thoughts upon how Unbelievers die, and then unbelievers die. It's very unpleasant to speak about unbelievers and about how they die. But unbelievers and believers will die, otherwise wouldn't die. Christians and non-Christians. Well, the unbeliever, when he dies, what does he have? Well, he has much, but it's not worth much. He has nothing but his sins. He dies in his sin, in the guilt of Adam's first transgression. The sin that emanates from that sin to the end of his life. Sins of omission, sins of commission, sins of thought, sins of world and deed. Just nothing but sin. He dies. He lived in his sin and he died. And those who have privileges, and we have great privileges as people who are born and brought up in Christian communities and drowned in Gospel privileges, that we must give account. And if we haven't believed in Christ, and we haven't received Him by faith, and rested upon Him alone for salvation, what of death? What of death must be? Of sins with pardons? And who will be ignorant of God's wrath that comes? Because every sin He said, Swadhartha, in this life and the life which is to come, we might go through life with a giving that of heart, but the moment we die, somebody will soon repent it. We'll be wide awake to the fact that we're not lost eternally. just where the world shall not die, neither shall I be questioned, where there will be nothing but will and nationalism. What a prospect! What a prospect! What does it have? The Christian friend, what a maternity you've been delivered, when you are delivered from your sins, when you pass death. But that's just a few thoughts with regard to heaven and earth. When you become a human, which exercise we can just go into it. It doesn't give us any pleasure to speak in that manner, but the believer, oh what a pleasure it is to remind the believer. He won't die in sin, but he will die to his sin, unto the consequences of his sins. Or I can see them, feel them, experience the liberty of the gospel. I'm not scared of it, but what a liberty this is going to be for you when you die, when you swallow your body. The moment of death has come in all of us. will be continued to have perfect and unbroken communion with your Lord and Savior. But the soul is the body, and when the body and soul will come back to the body, and body and soul will be eternally No one died. God saved us. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. That's the sign. There's a great difference. They're going to hear when Christ comes again. They're going to hear, come ye, Christ, come. and inherited the kingdom which I have prepared for you before the foundation of the world." And he died. Yes, and that is that all those who have believed in Christ must brought to life and will live forevermore I often think of when the soul of the believer leaves the body. To understand that moment of time, that whole, be perfectly told. I could hear her saying, what happens if I don't write it? You don't like it? Of course, the moment you write it, it's in a way, it tapers away. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly assaulted yourself in the highest sense. You have rightly Well, that sets a few thoughts on the empowerment of God, and death of the unbeliever, and death of the believer. But am I going to appeal to it? Yes. To appeal to those of you who have observed Christ. But what am I going to say to you? or to come with his soul to him. Maybe you say, as a lot of the Lord's people would follow this, when they came into the prediction of stone, that they would realise that they were doomed to die the eternal death, they concluded that there was no better for them. But they discovered otherwise. And you may be here tonight and you're seeking the Lord and you don't seem to be getting anywhere. And you're concluding that there is no hope for you. That there is no mercy for you in Christ. Well, what is Christ? That's not true. It was for sinners that Christ died. He died to atone for sin, and he died for sin. And it was for sinners that he came into the world. He came into the world in the poorness of time to seek and to save that which was lost. That's his mission, to seek and to save. So you come to Christ. see him and never stop seeing him, continue to see him, until you find him. And when you find him, you discover that it wasn't you that tried to hound him, but that he had hounded you. A time in eternity. So I would use these few words, and he died.
