Thank you for listening to Servants
for Christ. And all that we do and all that
we say, we want to give glory and honor to our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. Thank you for tuning us in as
we get into the wonderful Word of God. For the next few minutes,
let's take the beautiful Word of God and share it with each
and every one of you as we have a sense of anticipation to take
the Word of God and to listen to its truth for each and every
one. as I begin to share some poetry
that I wrote when I was in Israel in 2008. It was Saturday, April the 5th,
2008, the 29th of Adar, 5768 of the Hebrew calendar. I call
this poem, The City of Promise. It was inspired by looking at
the ancient walls and the stones of Jerusalem. I thought of Isaiah
66, verse 23. And it shall come to pass that
from one new moon to another and from one Sabbath to another
shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. And
then Psalms 137, verse five. If I forget thee, O Jerusalem,
let my right hand forget her cunning. And then I begin to
write the poem as those ancient walls and stones of Jerusalem
begin to bring it out. I call this City of Promise. I walk beneath the ancient stone
where prophets' voices once had grown, and whispers, echoes through
the years of promises through pain and tears. The city stands
both proud and worn, a place of hope of death reborn. Here, every stone bears witness
still to God's own hand, his sovereign will. And I stand within
this sacred space, feeling the pulse of God's embrace, a city
bound by ancient grace, Jerusalem, our holy place. you
