Gelassenheit

This message is about our forefathers.
So what does this word? I had to do a little digging and it some of the some of the references or the meanings were in the book I read. Basically, it means yieldedness willing submission to God's will. Willing submission to the life of the community and willing submission to the rule of love. It is the opposite of individualism. The passive openness to God's will. But what is that the passive openness to God's will? So what does passive mean? That means we accept something without objection or resistance. We're just open to the will of God. Whatever you have, Lord. Open to God's will without resisting, including a readiness to suffer for the cause of Christ. So I narrowed it down to three or three a little more in three words. But discipleship. Self surrender and strength. And it also has to do with peace, calmness, contentment and serenity. One brother I called asking for the definition of this word said accept life as it is. What is and I'm OK with that. So no wonder they couldn't find an English word for this German word gelosenheit. How do you put all that into one word?
