9 Matthew chapter number 9 and last week we began making comment We're looking at the Christ healing ministry and some of the miracles of Christ And of course this chapter deals with Matthew's call as well. And so we begin looking at these mirrors. We looked at the paralytic that Christ healed in verses 1 to 8 and we spent some time looking at that and we got done with verse number 1 and 2 and And verse number 3 to 8, there's just one more lesson that I want to get from this passage. And then we're going to move on to Jairus' daughter in verses 18 and 19. But let's read chapter 9 verses 1 to 5 or 1 to 8 there and then we'll pray and we'll get started. Notice what it says, "...and he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city. And behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed, and he, seeing their faith, said unto the sick of palsy, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee." Now that's a great statement right there. And it says, and behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, this man blasphemeth. Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether it's easy to say, thy sins be forgiven thee, or to say, arise and walk. But thee may know that the Son of Man hath power on earth to forgive sins. Then said he to the sick of Paul, he arise, take up thy bed, and go in my house. And he arose and departed to his house. But when the multitude saw it, they marveled and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. That's great. And Lord, tonight, that is a blessing. And God, we're so thankful for these great spiritual truths that are contained in these few little verses. And Lord, I'm thankful that you're the King of kings and the Lord of lords. You're God and you're man. You're a God-man. And Lord, you're the only way to get to heaven. And Father, you made that evidently clear as you, Lord, walked upon this earth and did your ministry. And Father, gave people spiritual truths that they could not understand. All right, now in this great story of healing, I'll never cease to be amazed by the mentality of people. They see a great miracle of healing, and yet the religious rulers of the day find fault with it. You think they'd be shouting. You think they'd be rejoicing because of the works of God. But I've learned this a long time ago. When God's doing something, there's always going to be people that do it. right people get saved and said well you know why did they have to why did they why the church why they have spent so much time seeing these people saved you know i want to go home you know i said you want to go home go home these people need to be saved what's more important lunch or salvation of the soul i'll tell you right now it's salvation of the soul these kids come into church and they run around and and they need christ and people say well you know these kids are just messing up the program That's exactly right, they are the program. Religion always gets in the way of a mighty worship. And I say, God save us from religion. No one in this room needs religion. Everyone in this room needs relationship with Jesus Christ. And there's a big difference between those two things. And again, so the people are complaining here, and what gets them the most upset is because he said, some be of good cheer by sinking in. Now we know from the companion passage there, and that we know from the companion passage that they said, who can for sin get sins but God alone? Well, they had it right. Jesus Christ, the only one who can forgive sins. Their theology was right. They just didn't understand who Jesus Christ was. Amen. And that's the problem that the cults and false religions have to this day. I talk to Islamists all the time. And the Islamists always say, well, no one can die in your place. But that's exactly what Jesus Christ did for us. Jesus Christ, the righteous, the just died for the unjust that he might bring to God. If I got to die for my own sins, I'll burn in hell forever. The reason I'm going to heaven is because Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins. He became repudiation for our sins. And we weren't purchased with corruptible things as silver and gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, slain from the foundation of the world. And thank God that salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is not of yourself. If you could save yourself, Jesus would have never come to this world. But we can't save ourselves. And if religion could save us, then Jesus didn't need to come because the world's always been in the hands of religion. Right? And that's the problem they have with Jesus Christ who alone That part of the equation was right now for all of our theologians chapter number one and we know what it says but john chapter number one people said who you know i tell people if you're gonna when you start reading your bible the first time because it'll tell you who jesus is it'll tell you that he's the son of god it'll tell you that he is god it'll tell you that he god came in in human form to redeem his own unto himself notice where it says in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. Those are capital W's for a reason. You'll say, well, does it matter what translation means? Of course it does. Because if you eliminate the wording of this, then you eliminate the truth of it. That's why other translations make that a little g instead of a capital G. You say, why? Because then Jesus Christ is a God. right it says and the same was in the beginning with god you ever read over genesis where it says and god said let us Make man in our image, plural, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Cultures completely reject that. Islam rejects it. Jehovah Witnesses reject it. Mormons reject it. I mean, right on down the line. False religions reject the truth of God's word. Notice what goes on to say, all things were made by him. Without him was not anything made that was made. He made the world. In the beginning, God created heaven and earth. But Jesus made everything. We'll look at it in a minute all it says Look on down there and first number Oh, verse number nine, it says, this was the true life, which life every man that cometh in the world, he was in the world, and the world was made by him. Who is that? Jesus. He was in the world, and the world was made by him. And it goes on to say, and the world knew him not. He came into his own, his own received him not. The Jews rejected Jesus. He's the him there. And it says, but as many received him, them getting empowered to become the sons of God, even of them that were born that believe on his name which were which were born not of blood nor the will of flesh nor the will of man but of god and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us the word the capital w in verse 14 is the capital w in verse number one Right? Don't tell me punctuation doesn't make a difference. Don't tell me that capitalization doesn't make a difference. Don't tell me, hey, that these words are here by accident. No, they're here by divine providence. And it says, and the word was made flesh and brought among us. We behold his glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and joy. And if you want to go to heaven, there's only one person who can forgive your sins. Brother Butch was, we were talking today in the doctor's office there, we were having a, sometimes it is a hilarious thing to be in the hospital. And some of these nurses and doctors and people, they have the best sense of humor. And usually when the preacher's in the room, that encourages them to have more sense of humor. And so we heard, and he says, he asked Brother Butch, he said, Brother Butch said something about he didn't do something he was supposed to do, it was no big deal. And he said, well, are you confessing to me like you confessed to the preacher? And I said, well, he doesn't confess his sins to the preacher. We confess our faults to the preacher, not our sins. We only confess our sins to God. I tell people, don't come to the back door and tell me you killed someone and buried them under your porch. Stop, I tell them, stop, don't say another word. Because my next phone call is to the FBI. Right? Don't call me up and say, I figured out how I'm gonna kill my wife. I said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, stop right there. First of all, that's not a good ideal. And secondly, if you do that, you tell me you're going to jail, I'll be the first one to call the police. Right is right, wrong is wrong. I could be the one brother told me, I said, please don't ever say that again to me on the phone. He said, I'd kill her, but I can't figure out what to do with the body. Now in my evil mind, I could, but I wasn't gonna tell him. I said, you don't need to be saying these things. That is a wrong thing for a Christian to say about his wife. I was raised Catholic. I know about confession and confession is good for the soul, but it's best to confess to God Almighty. Right? I confess to God Almighty every day and say, God, I'm sorry for X, Y, Z. And I tell him exactly what it was because he knows what it is already. And I'm just thinking, you gotta be kidding me. But who can forgive sins? The only God. If I could forgive your sins, you know I would. Right? If man could do it, man would make a business out of it, right? and you know they have. The Holy Mother Church has done a good job of that. Pay so much money and you'll be forgiven. And we know that's a lie because nobody can forgive sins but who? God alone. Their theology on that was right, but it's God alone. Look in Colossians. And again, the only reason I'm emphasizing this is because of the false teaching of the cults. And we're going to look at a couple other things in this passage because it reveals the truth when it comes to the work of Jesus Christ. Colossians. Notice what it says in verse number, talking about the Lord, verse 12, it says, giving thanks unto the Father which hath made us meet the partakers of inheritance of the saints in light, who have delivered us from the power of darkness, have translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Remember Christ, Pilate said, are you a king? He said, yeah, I'm a king. And if my kingdom was of this world, my servants were fight, but my kingdom is not of this world. See, the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but it's spirit and truth. Notice what he went on to say, in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. How do we get forgiveness of sins? By the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on Calvary. And notice what it says in verse 14, who is the image. of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. Jehovah's Witness said, see, that he's the firstborn. Firstborn what? Firstborn from the dead. First one to raise himself by his own power. He wasn't created. He is God. But see, they try and fool people because people don't know what the Bible says. And notice what it goes on to say, he's before all things. I'm sorry verse 16 It says by for by him were all things created that are in heaven and that are on earth visible and invisible to be thrones or dominions or prince powers or powers all things were created by him and for him that's Jesus Christ and He is before all things and by him and by him all things consist He is the head of the church of the head of the bottom of the church who is the beginning the firstborn from the dead It means from the dead. It doesn't mean a physical birth. Right? He wasn't born in eternity past. He's always been the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. There's great theology here that we don't have time to explain. But I'll tell you right now, in eternity past, it was just God. That's why it says, and God created the heavens and the earth. But when God made man, he said, let us, because now you have Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. And there'll be Father, Son, and Holy Ghost till after the millennial kingdom, and then it'll be what? God. And the triune will go back into one. That's a great theological teaching that most people can't handle. But I'll tell you, that is a theological truth. And that's why in 1 Corinthians 15, Christ submits himself and gives up the kingdom to the Father, and they become one. You read over there in Revelation where he comes from the throne and steps back into the throne, and what are we gonna see for all eternity? The face of Jesus Christ. Great theology, great teaching. I hardly ever mention it. But I'll tell you the truth, thank God, thank God that it all begins with God and it's all gonna what? End with God, capital G-O-D. All right, that's enough theology in that. Let's move on. But the ideal that Christ had the power. the only one that has the power to forgive sins. That's why you must be born again. All right, chapter number nine. And we wanna skip on down a few verses now because I wanna get all the miracles of Jesus. Skip on down to verse number 18 and 19. We're gonna be looking at Jairus' daughter. We know this is Jairus' daughter because of Mark chapter number 5, a comparison passage. But look what it says in verse number 18. And it says, Now you heard of Paul Harvey, right? The rest of the story. Right? Look at Mark chapter number 5. Let's skip on over there. Mark chapter number 5. And so we can get the rest of the story. Okay? Mark 5. And notice what it says there in verse number 35 and verse number 36. Comparison passage. And it says... Look at matter of fact back it up the verse. Let's get Verse 22 it says behold there comes one of the rulers of the synagogue Jairus by name and when he saw him he fell at his feet and he sought him greatly saying my little daughter lie at the point of death I pray thee come and lay thy hands on her that she may be healed and she shall live and Jesus went with him and much people followed him and thronged him now we're gonna skip the Lady with the issue of bloods we're coming back to that and look at now look at verse number 34 Or 35 and while he had spake there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said thy daughter is dead Why troubles thou my master any further and as soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken? He saith on the rule the synagogue be not afraid only believe Now the key to any of to receive anything from God is to have faith. I Right? But without faith, it's impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he's more than the diligently seeking. The key to the great teaching about Jesus' miracles is the attribute of faith. What's the problem in the generation we live in? We live in a faithless, perverse generation. And so did Jesus. As the church began, so shall the church end. Jesus said, he said, when the Son of Man cometh, shall you find faith on the earth? What's the problem? Lack of faith in the day in which we live. People have less faith today than they've ever had in this generation. It's a faithless and perverse generation. And without faith, we're never gonna see God do anything. And that's true. Mark 9, 23, Jesus said, if thou canst believe, all things are possible in him that believeth. But what's the problem in the day in which we live? People have no faith in God. They can't wait for God to do anything. They're always trying to work it out themselves. The key to receiving anything from God is not panicking, and instead praying and waiting for God to work in them. Waiting to see what God's gonna do. Now, of course, when this thing happens, Jesus looks at him and says, hey, be not afraid, only believe. Believing is the key. Having faith in God. And that's where the emphasis is put here. You know, and if you're gonna do anything for God, if you're gonna do anything for God, let me tell you, you're gonna have to have some faith. Notice what he goes on to say here in this passage, verse 18 and 19, so he knows that his daughter is dead. Now skip a few verses, because we want to get to where he continues this thing. Look at verse 23. And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, right? Are they worshiping God or are they making a noise? They're making a noise. Right? And they used to have professional whalers. Pay you some money so you'll come and professionally grieve at my house. You know what I'm saying? And that's a joke in itself. Right? It's all fake. But people love what's fake, don't they? Don't we love knockoffs? You know? I got a Rolex and I paid $10 for it. Now, we know it's not a Rolex. It says Rolex. It works like a Rolex. I bought a guy in Trinidad. I bought these watches for, I mean, they were probably $3 US, right? And 25 TT, $4 US, something like that, $4 US. And we gave them away at vacation Bible school. And man, everybody was so proud of those things. Adults, one of them, they were, I mean, they were, I'll bring 50 visitors to get that watch you bought, right? And they did. And he said, brother Chris, I got that watch, man, it looked like a high dollar thing. I mean, it was cool as all get out. And as soon as the first drop of rain fell on it, it quit working. Now, you know, in the Caribbean, it rains six months out of the year, right? I laughed, I said, well, Roland, what do you expect for 25 DT? You don't really think you're getting a real watch, do you? I mean, come on. You ever bought some knockoff Nikes? All you gotta do is jump up and down a few times, you know they're not Nikes. But see, we like the resemblance that it's real. What did Jesus say to the church in, which church was that in Revelation? Was it Sardis or Smyrna when he said, thou have a name, thou livest, but are dead? It's all fake. There's no life in what's happening. There's nothing real there. Boy, but people love, they love the appearance of it. You ever gone to a worship service, but there was no worship? And there was no real preaching, there was no real word, there was no real anything? And yet the place was filled, and it was fake as a $3 bill. Everything in our day is like that. Fake news, fake everything. And God help us. In Israel's day, everything was fake. And what did the prophet say? And my people love to have it so. And God help us. Jesus isn't about the fake. He's about the real. And see, when Jesus shows up, They're doing their fake thing. And I love when God exposes the fake. Because when God exposes the fake, then you see what's really going on. Look what it says there. They're making a noise. Verse 24, He said unto them, Give place, for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. Man, their tears turned into laughter and scorn. Now, if you've ever been laughed to scorn or laughed someone to scorn, one time at work years ago, and I'm the kind of person that, I don't know, the boss came to me. We have nine printing presses, nine of them. And he comes to me, and me only, and says, Chris, how about you set up a run for the guys that are coming in? And I'm looking around. There's nine press operators, and he asked me and Mia alone to do it. Because he figured I'd be the only one to do it. Now, the only problem with that, if you set up a run for somebody, they get credit for the run, and if they make any mistakes on it, you get credit for the errors. Now remember, we're only allowed to have three errors a day, a .8% error rate. You have to maintain a .8% error rate for the entire week, which means in five days you can have 15 errors. But on a run, if a machine failed on the run, you know the numbers on your check, those are mechanical numbers. And if one of the machines fail, that's an error. If they broke a piece of type, that's an error. On one run, you could have five, if they ran the wrong color paper, that's 12 errors. So he came and asked me, how about you set up a run for the next guy? And I just looked at him. And I can't cry on demand, but I can laugh hysterically on demand. Let me show you. I look like a psychopath, I'm afraid to do it. But I can laugh uncontrollably, and I mean laugh like you wouldn't see anybody laugh. So I start laughing uncontrollably, the whole press line starts laughing uncontrollably, and Bob's face turned 10 shades of red, and he said, yeah, funny, funny, and he walked off. It was funny. Larry comes over. He says, Chris, I never knew what it meant to be laughed to scorn until today. And we laughed Bob right off of the press line. Well, they're laughing at Jesus. You know, they're professional mourners, right? And they're laughing, they're laughing, they're laughing is turned to scorn. You don't know what you're talking about. Did they know that the girl was dead? Yes, the girl's dead. But they don't even begin to understand spiritual things. She's in Abraham's bosom resting at this moment. They don't even know about Abraham's bosom. They don't even understand where she's at. All they know is that her body is lifeless. And what I just said there, some of you probably don't understand. But there was a spiritual truth here. It says, look what it says, and, but when the people were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand and the maid arose. Now we know from reading over in Mark, he said, he said, Tabitha, Ephra, which means I say unto thee, arise. And she arose from the dead, right? And look, I guess we better look in Mark chapter five again, Mark chapter number five. And just so we can get it here, because this is the rest of the story, like I said, and Look over there in verse number 40. And they left him to scorn. But when he had put them out, he take of the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him entered into where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand and set under her talifai kumai, which is being interpreted damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel rose and walked, for she was of age of 12 years. And they were astonished with great astonishment. And he charged them straight that no man should know it and commanded that something should be given her to eat. So he raised her from the dead. But he said she was sleeping. Now, the Jehovah Witnesses say, well, that's soul sleep. No, that's not what that means. It means she was resting. Where was she resting? In Abraham's bosom. With the other saints. And again, because of the offense, can I tell you the offense of the cross? People do not understand Christianity. And they're offended by it. They're offended when you say, hey, if they were saved, praise the Lord, they're in heaven and they're way better off. Sinners don't understand that. Your child died. Well, they went to be with the Lord, praise the Lord. And they're completely offended by that statement. Because they don't understand what Solomon said. The day of one's death is greater than the day of one's birth. And that's true if you're a child of God. I don't expect sinners to understand spiritual truth. But nonetheless, that is the truth. Now, and again, look in Revelation chapter number 14. Man, sometimes I just cannot read my own writing. Revelation chapter 14. And look on over there, it's talking about those, the dead in Christ, those who have died, Revelation 14, and in verse number 13. And note what he says in verse 13, I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth, yea, sayeth the spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them. What are people doing in heaven right now? They're resting from their labors. Did you ever read over there in 1 Samuel when Saul got the witch of Endor to raise Samuel and Samuel came up and he said, why have you disquieted me? Man, I'm down here resting. I'm waiting for Jesus. Why are you bugging me? Right? You say, you know, and do we know absent from the body, present with the Lord? Isn't that what it says in 2 Corinthians 5, verse number eight? And this is the constant that we have, knowing that whilst we're at home in the body, we're absent from the Lord, but absent from the body, present with the Lord? Now, her soul was not in her body. Her soul had departed from her body and was in rest. And Jesus Christ raised her from the dead and her soul came back into her body. You read about that all throughout the Bible. Right? And again, it's people's lack of understanding knowledge of Bible to understand what was happening, but that's a great spiritual truth. If I die tonight, what are you, I'll be resting until the rapture. When I get my new body, hallelujah. I mean, thank God. John 11, look in John chapter number 11. When Lazarus died, how did Jesus describe it? John 11, in verse number 11, notice what it says there. He said, These things said he, and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth, but I go that I may wake him out of sleep. Now, of course, their carnal minds, because they don't understand spiritual things, then said the disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit, Jesus spake of his death, but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Right? They couldn't get it. He's dead. He's in Abraham's bosom, resting with the saints. He's not in the body. The soul was departed from the body. And of course, we know what happened. Jesus raises him from the dead. He says, Lazarus, come forth. And Lazarus comes forth, right? Do we believe these things? We absolutely believe these things. First Thessalonians chapter number four. And again, these are spiritual truths. You say, again, if I died right now, I would be in the presence of God Almighty. And my body would be put into the ground somewhere. What did Jesus say about that? First Thessalonians chapter number four, look at verse number 13. But I would not have you be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you saw not, even as others have no hope. Now when you're talking about sleep, they're dead. And he says, for we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. So obviously they're not in their body. Who are they with? They're with Jesus. And capital G-O-D, Jesus is going to bring them with him. Right? And it says, For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive remain under the coming of the Lord, and that shall not prevent them which are asleep, the dead. For the Lord himself shall ascend with heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Jesus bringing those souls their souls are going back into that new body and that body's coming out of the grave Ain't nobody no grave gonna hold my body down, right? It says and and and then it says and then we which are alive remains should be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air so shall we ever be with the Lord Great spiritual truth Problem is that the ignorant rest the scriptures to their own destruction Don't ever think for one minute their soul was in the ground. Their soul has never been in the ground. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. You compare scripture with scripture, know the truth. And a sinner without God, their soul goes to a devil's hell. That's why the Bible said the rich man was buried in hell. He lifted up his eyes. The Jehovah's Witnesses say, well, see, the grave is the hell. I asked Jehovah's Witnesses, I said, okay, if grave is the hell, what's gonna happen to you when you die? He said, I'm going in the grave. And I said, so you're going to hell. He said, everybody goes to hell. I said, that's great theology. And I laughed, I laughed him to scorn. And the two women that were with him bust out laughing. I said, why would anyone want to be a Jehovah witness when you believe everyone goes to hell? I mean, I knew that when I was Catholic. Everyone goes to purgatory to burn. That's why the Roman church is called the mother of all harlots. All false doctrine comes from the Holy Mother Church, right? And all her little prostitutes have the same doctrine in some form or another. You say, Brother Chris, you're really being unkind. We're speaking truth here tonight. If I am being kind that I didn't use another word. But I'm describing it so everyone can understand it because everyone knows who the Holy Mother Church is And that is what they believe When my mom died My mom's best friend Cecilia came and said brother. He said Chrissy because they always called me Chrissy I hate being called Chrissy. You want to make me mad call me Chrissy. I Am brother Chris or pastor? Okay, not Chrissy That's a girl's name He said, we gotta pray your mom out of purgatory. I said, I'll tell you right now, she's not in purgatory. She's either in heaven and she's in hell, and I believe she's in heaven, but she ain't no purgatory. Well, she paid $400 to have prayer said to get her out. Didn't I tell you you can make money off of this thing? And the more wealthy you are, the more they demand. Cecilia wasn't wealthy. But had she been, it'd have been a whole lot more than $400. Because that's how the church operates. Now, you know, we're not praying anybody in and out. You can't pay your way out of hell. You can't buy your way into heaven. Right? It's only by the faith of Jesus Christ and no other way. But thank God, we can know the truth and the truth will make you free. Let's finish up. Again, notice what it says there. In verse 25, and we'll close. And when the people were put, and when the people, he went in and took it made by the hand and the maid arose and the fame thereof went abroad into all that land. You see, the works of God were made manifest. And Jesus never took a dime for one thing he ever did. Did people give to Jesus and disciples to supply his needs? They did. But there was never a fee to do the work of God. And if there's a fee connected to doing the work of God, it's not the work of God. People say, how much you charge to marry somebody? Nothing. How much you charge to bury someone? Nothing. How much you charge to come out and do this? Nothing. Thank God the church supports the ministry so we can go do things freely. But we just live in a crazy day. And you know something's wrong if there's a dollar figure connected to it. Because that is not what Jesus did. Thank God for the truth that'll make you free. Thank God for the truth. And Jesus Christ did the works of God. And if you wanna see God's blessing, what do you gotta have? You gotta have faith. You wanna go to heaven? You gotta have faith. That's why the Bible says, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. He says it's that simple, it's that simple. Have some faith in God. Don't put your faith in me. Don't put your faith in brother Eddie. Don't put your faith in mom and dad, your brother and sister, your aunt, your uncle. Don't put your faith in this building. Put your faith in Jesus Christ. And that's how you get your problem solved. Great spiritual truth. If you can receive it, right? What was the problem with people today? They couldn't receive it. Jesus do something great, and they go out and hold a council how they could put him to death. What did Jesus tell him? He said, you need to do the works of Abraham. He said, but Abraham never went about to kill anybody. If Abraham were your father, you'd love me because I came forth from God. He said, and you're not of God. You talk about making a bunch of religious people mad. If you really wanna make someone mad, all you gotta do is just tell them the truth. Speak the truth. And you'll see. Try that sometime. And see if that's not better than telling someone off. Just tell them the truth. And you'll be surprised. Here's a caveat. Tell them the truth in love. When I was a young Christian, I used to tell them the truth of hate. You're going to hell, you big devil! You're gonna fry like a sausage! Was that the truth? But that's not the way to tell the truth. It ought to be with tears. Listen, you're lost, you're undone, and you need Christ in the worst of times. Right? Speak the truth in love, but for God's sake, speak the truth. All right, let's pray.
