179, Jesus hold my hand. Jesus hold my hand. After that, we're gonna be doing surely goodness and mercy. Jesus hold my hand. As I travel through this pilgrim, there is a friend who walks with me. He leads me safely through life's beginnings and it is the Christ of Calvary. Each day to help me do the best I can. For I need thy light to guide me day and night. Blessed Jesus, hold my hand. Jesus, hold my hand. I need thee every hour. Prove this pilgrim land. Oh Lord, look out on me. When I kneel in prayer, I hope to meet you there. Blessed Jesus, hold my hand. Let me travel in your light, divine, that I may see the blessed way. Light and sing redemption's song someday. I will be a soldier brave and true, And ever firmly make your stand. As I onward go, and daily meet the foe, Blessed Jesus, hold my hand. When I wander through the valley, dear, Toward the setting of the sun, Lead me safely to that land of rest, If I a crown of life have won. I have put my faith in thee, dear Lord, Let's see, 178 is surely goodness and mercy. And then after that, we're going to sing, I'd rather have Jesus. A pilgrim was I in a wandering In the cold night of sin I did roam Then Jesus, a kind shepherd, found me And now I am on my way home Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days, all the days of my life What a confession! Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days, all the days of my life And I shall dwell in the house of my Lord forever. And I shall feast at the table spread for me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, all the days of my life. Then clap your hands this evening. Thank God. We'll be going tomorrow morning early. Paul came to me this morning and said, you said there were about 50. We've got almost 55 now. And we're going down there tomorrow morning to take those kids down there. I want them to be born again. I want them to be born again. But I want them to get a good start into the abundant life. A lot of people have been born again and somehow they've just fallen somewhere. and they need to get up. They need to get up and start dancing and enjoy the blessings of God and begin to seek the way. The children of God at the very beginning, they walked in the way. I'm in the way, the bright and shining way. I want to be there tonight. So let's sing this song, the next two verses, and let's think about our lives being in the way and about those lives this week that God might grab a hold and call his very own. He leads me beside the still waters and guards me each step of the way. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me. all the days, all the days of my life. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, all the days of my life. And I shall dwell in the house of and I shall feast at the table spread for me. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, all the days of my life. When I walk through the dark, lonesome valley, my Savior and safely his great head will lead me to the mansions he's gone to prepare. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days, all the ♪ All the days, all the days of my life ♪ And I shall dwell in the house of my Lord forever ♪ And I shall feast at the table spread for me ♪ Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me I've had an amazing life and I want to see other people have it too. I want people to get themselves caught up in Jesus for Him to catch them up and turn their lives inside out and to set their feet on higher ground and when they fall down and they say, oh no, I have no hope and He reaches down and gets a hold of them by the nap of the neck and He picks them up, find out that He set them even on higher ground because that's the method of our shepherd. All right, page 109. 109, we want to offer up the beautiful song, I'd Rather Have Jesus. I love this song. I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold. I'd rather be His than have riches untold. I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands. I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand than to be From a vast domain, And be held in sin's dread sway. I'd rather have Jesus than anything This world affords to name. I'd rather have Jesus than mince applause. I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause. Take me, Lord! I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame. I'd rather be true to his holy name, and to be the king of a vast domain, and be held in sin's dread sway. I'd rather have Jesus than any this world affords today. Do the chorus again. Then to be the king of a vast domain and beheld in sin's dread In just a little while, I'll read the first and second verse of Psalm 62. If you were to ask most people, what do you remember about David? And they'd say, well, he killed a giant, and he committed adultery with Bathsheba. The one I remember the most about David is, I suppose, because I need the same thing. I don't need to kill a giant, and I sure don't need to commit adultery. That is these words. David is a man after God's own heart. I'm gonna remember that because I want that loving kindness from God. Psalm 62, one and two reads like this. We read these to sanctify every penny that comes into this church because all the filthy lucre It needs to be cleansed, and God's word is the cleansing element. Do you believe that? Psalm 62, 1 and 2. Truly, my soul waiteth upon the Lord. From him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation. He is my defense. I shall not be greatly moved. Thank you, Jesus. so so you you Jesus is at the right hand of the Father. ever making intercession. And while he's there, he has the robe, a garment that has bells tied into the hill of that. And whenever the evil one comes and makes an accusation against us. He reminds all of heaven. And reminds us too that the blood covers sin and he rings. those bells. Wow, he rings those bells for me? How much more does he do for me that I'm not always aware of? I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. There's a land beyond the river That we call the sweet forever And we only reach that shore by face decree One by one we'll gain the portals There to dwell with the immortals When he rings those gongs golden bells for you and me. Don't you hear the bells now ringing? Don't you hear the angels singing? Is a glory hallelujah jubilee In that far off sweet forever Just beyond life's shining river where he rings those golden bells for you and me. We shall know no sin nor sorrow in that haven of tomorrow when our bark shall sell beyond the silver sea. We shall only know the blessing of our Father's sweet caressing when he rings those golden bells for you and me. Don't you hear the bells now ringing? Don't you hear the angels singing? Tis a glory hallelujah jubilee In that far off sweet forever Just beyond life's shining river Where He rings those golden bells for you and me Then our days shall know their number When in death we sweetly slumber, When the King commands the spirit to be free. Nevermore with anguish laden we shall reach that lovely maiden when he rings those golden bells for you and me. Stand and sing the chorus with me now. Don't you hear the bells now ringing? To hear the angels singing, Is a glory hallelujah to the King. And that far off sweet forever, Just beyond life's shining river, brings those golden bells for you and me. Hallelujah! Wow, what a Savior! Amen, and what a piano player! Well, Phil, that brought back memories of our standing there. We'd flown out to Los Angeles. We'd gone there to San Pedro. There's a cemetery there. I can see it just as clear as if I were there. And our precious dear sister, Vera Presley, went to be with the Lord. And you sang that song there at her gravesite. We got a telephone call that Betty Clem's husband had died and we had to make a dash to the airport to get back because Betty said, I want you back here and I want you back here now. Thank God the airplanes were still running. We made it. But it's wonderful to have precious memories Now we have been on Sunday night studying the book of Zechariah, and I have been led to bring that book to a conclusion by going over to the book of Luke. The book of Luke, this brings that to a conclusion. Jesus is on the Temple Mount in the 20th chapter of Luke. And in the 45th verse, he brings his public teaching on the Temple Mount to a close. And this is how he closed out his preaching and teaching to the people there on the Temple Mount. And so we'll hit verse 45 of the 20th chapter as he brings his public ministry to a close there on the Temple Mount. Then the audience, in the audience of all the people, all of those who were gathered there on the Temple Mount, then in the audience of all the people, he said unto his disciples, now the people were listening, but he was directing this at those who had become his very special students. And here's the words he spoke. there on that holy mountain, beware of the scribes, that is those who copy the word of God by hand, putting it on either papyri or some animal skin, because of the invention of type had not come out yet, so it had to be copied word for word. So these people he was speaking to knew the word in their head, but it had never gotten to their heart. Beware of those who copy the scriptures, who have an intimate relationship with the word of God in their heads. Beware of the scribes which desire." They desire. This is what they long for. They had a thirst for something. And what was it? They walk in long robes. They made sure their clothing set them apart and made them look special to those who looked at things for religious, not for spiritual. And they love to be greeted in the marketplace. They walk through the marketplace in their very special clothing so that people would see them and would point them out as how great they were. Beware of them. They love greetings in the marketplace. And they love to have the highest seats in the synagogue. They want to have a special place that they'll be noticed. and the chief rooms of the feast. But what they really do, they devour widows' houses. They take advantage of women whose husbands have died and left them some kind of inheritance. And for a show, they make long prayers. The same, these who do this, shall receive the greater damnation. Hell will not be as hot, using that word in a symbolic way, hell will not be as hot for the most evil atheistic unbelievers and heathens as those who make a show of their belief in Almighty God. Now remember that the Bible was not originally written in chapters and verses. It was originally written and men have changed it and put it in chapters and verses. So the thought has not changed just because you're going to chapter 21. And at that very time he looked up. Jesus on the Temple Mount. And he saw rich men casting their gifts into the treasure. And he saw a certain poor widow casting feather, two mites. These were the smallest coins, and according to the rules of the Temple Mount in giving, this was the least amount you could give. You couldn't give just one, two mites was their regulation. That was the least you could give. And he said, of a truth I say unto you." This is Jesus teaching his final public message on the Temple Mount. That this poor widow has cast in more than they all. For in all of these, the wealthy have of their abundance cast in their offering to God, but she, this woman, of her poverty hath cast in all the living that she hath. And we get our word from this word living, the Greek word, we get our word biography. So this means that this was the story. Jesus said, this is a story of all of these high and mighty people. This is their biography I've told you. And now I'm telling you this poor widow's biography. This is her entire life. And they didn't catch it, of course. They missed the whole message. And as some spake of the temple, they took their mind off of this small offering that this widow had given, and some spake of the temple, how it was adorned, it was beautiful, the temple was so outwardly beautiful, with goodly stones, And with gifts, people would bring special ornaments in and put them in the building. As for these things which you behold, the things you're looking at, the things you have your eyes upon, for these things which you behold, the days will come. They wouldn't be long. In the which there shall not be left one stone upon another. And some of these stones weighed many tons. They were huge. They were very, very beautiful and carefully cut somewhere away from the Temple Mount and brought and fit in carefully into the adornment of that building. that they should not be thrown down. Every one of them are going to be thrown down. And of course it happened in 70 A.D. and this was about 33 A.D. And they asked him, saying, Master, teacher, but when shall these things be? When will this happen? And what shall be the sign of these things which come to pass." Now, they're on the Temple Mount, they've left the Temple Mount, and they've gone to the Mount of Olives. They stopped to rest as they climbed up the Mount of Olives. And he said, take heed, listen, and be not deceived, For many! I've been reading and I certainly have been doing this in order to learn things about all the megla churches that are coming into being and many of the wealthiest men in this country are helping to build the megla churches. I'm not against a large church but just because there are a lot of people there Does it mean that it is a spiritual place? And Jesus said, beware, take heed that many shall come in my name. They'll use the name Jesus. They'll speak the name Christ. They'll claim to be Christians. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ. Now there's two ways to interpret this. And this is the way I see it. You may see it the other way. Some say this means many will come claiming to be the Messiah. Do you know of anybody in the world today that claims to be the Messiah? Do you? That's why I don't believe that's what it means. Many will come saying that Jesus was the Messiah. Just saying he was the Messiah does not honor him. You must believe with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind that he is the promised Messiah that was promised all the way through the Old Testament. Jesus is the only one. And be careful, be very careful, that you do not join some messianic group that claims that Jesus is the Messiah, but they're only planning to use that name to one day accept the Antichrist. the man of sin who will come and Jesus is warning my name Messiah is the holiest name in all mankind and be careful when you line up with a messianic movement because Well, just today. And I am not excited about it, I am distressed. The Pope, Pope Francis, the Jesuit Pope, invited the President of Israel, the President of the Palestinians, and the Pope of the Eastern Church. invited all of them to the Vatican to pray. I am not excited about that because it is a political move by all of those concerned. The only thing I'm thrilled about is it just tells me the end is near. And remember the thing that's gonna happen that starts the last seven years of Daniel's prophecy of the 190 years. Israel will sign a covenant and they will promise them. And what better than the Vatican promising? What better than them to sign an agreement that You're not going to be hurt. We're going to let you live in peace, Israel. They shall, what does the Bible say? They shall be peace, peace. And there is no peace. This is not a good thing. That prayer service they had in the Vatican. Israel must be alert. that the man of sin is going to come and deceive them into believing that he is their Messiah. Take heed that you be not deceived for many shall come in my name saying, I am the Messiah. The time draweth nigh Go not therefore after them. Be careful who you follow. Is it to honor Jesus that men may be saved from their sins and one day enter into the kingdom of God when the real Jesus, the real Messiah comes back to set up his kingdom? But when you shall hear of wars, and commotions. Don't be terrified just because all of these things are going on in the world. Don't let that get your mind off of spiritual things. I'm not gonna get filled with fear because the world is going to hell. That's more of a reason for me to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. That's more of a reason for you to believe in the real Jesus, the Jesus of this book. The Jesus who was virgin born, lived the holy life, died on the cross and paid for all sin and arose the third day and has ascended to the right hand of God. But when you shall hear of wars and commotions, He's not terrified, for these things must first come to pass, but the end is not by and by, the end of the world is not yet. Then he said to them, now Jesus has left the Temple Mount, he's now on the Mount of Olives, he's gathered his disciples around him there. Then he said to them, nation, shall rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and great earthquakes shall be in diverse places. This old earth is getting ready to shake. It's gonna shake and every time it shakes, God is saying, I'm God. Are you gonna listen to me? Are you gonna let this just Make things grow like it always has. Are you going to have a dedication to Almighty God when you see these things come about? This is Jesus speaking. Now, people don't want to hear this kind of sermon. They want to make me just feel good. This makes me feel good because I know God is fulfilling His Word. That's how I get to feeling good, not because somebody has a psychological approach. And they know to have a hypnotic type service of the singing and the preaching. And they can hypnotize whole crowds of people with their sweet, ugly, filthy, dirty, ungodly truths that they say they're pronouncing in their lives. Every one of them. Great earthquakes shall be in diverse places. And famine is going to come soon. The economy is going to go absolutely south in every country. And people are going to be starving to death. Now, I'm not talking political when I say what I'm going to say now. You'll hear about cap and trade. You say, well, that doesn't have anything to do with God. Oh, yes, it does. The political people in power are going to fix it to where a farmer can't even be free to plant what he wants to when he wants to. Cap and trade means they're going to try to stop the earth from getting too hot. This is not their earth, this is God's earth. And if you read the Bible, the present earth is doomed. But thank God the Bible says, through the apostle John, in the book of Revelation, I saw a new heaven. and a new earth. For the first heaven, the one now, and the first earth are passed away, John writes. And there was no more sea, there was no more turbulence of mankind. There shall be no more sea. John has said there's gonna be a new heaven and a new earth. And I'm looking forward to spending eternity. I'll be traveling around, between heaven and earth, because you know how, what's going to happen when you become saved and you have your glorified body? You know what's going to be like? You can think it and be there. You can think it and be there. It's going to be wonderful. Then said he unto them, I'm reading it again. I want to emphasize the Bible says this is coming. It's not going to affect my spirit. My spirit is sealed and so is yours. Your spirit is sealed. They can hurt your body, they can hurt your emotions, but they cannot hurt your spirit. I cannot give you the name, but a preacher called me about a couple of hours ago. And he's had a total nervous breakdown. And he calls me and I just listen to him. He tells me he is going through hell on earth. And I try to tell him that God loves him. He said, how could he love me and let this happen to me? I'm living in a hell. I want to pray for myself and you pray for you. That when things go wrong in your body and your brain, and God really knows what you will be like as the real human nature begins to come out. But don't pay any attention. I hear a lot of people Beloved, I hear a lot of people say, I never heard my mother or father say a filthy word. I never heard them curse. And now they've got this, their brains gone south and they say all these ugly words. That's not their spirit. And I'm not going to believe that about them. It's your spirit that you want to be sealed until the day of redemption. Verse 12. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you. These are the religious people and these are Muslims and these are fake Christians. and every other religion, but before all of these, they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you and deliver you up to the synagogue and into prison, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to you as a testimony. fact that you are not loved by an unloving world and they want to destroy you because you are a soldier in the army of Almighty God and you have your part in the host of glory and whatever they do to you they can only do it to you temporarily. because everybody in this assembly, I'm gonna prophesy over you and I don't have any fear. I'm gonna prophesy over you that everyone here in this assembly, you're going to say, my spirit has been sealed till the day of redemption and they can't do anything, but they can do to my body, they can do to my emotions, but my spirit is set for all eternity. One day, your spirit will leave your body. And what a wonderful thing to know, that just before you breathe your last breath, a whole host of angels will be around. And those, I know there's gonna be a rapture, but there's also gonna be a individual rapture. If I don't make the rapture when the whole church is called out, I'm gonna be raptured, and so are you. If you draw that last breath, the angels are gonna escort you just like they did that poor man outside the rich man's door. They're gonna usher you into the presence of God. And so don't worry about all these other things, they'll come to pass, but they won't last. But heaven through Jesus will last forever. That's the message. Take it home with you. And direct close to your heart. Thank you, Jesus, as we stand this evening. Let's sing learning to lean. I'm learning to lean. Finding more power. Learning to lean. Learning to lean. I'm learning to lean. Finding more power than I'd ever dreamed, I'm learning to lean on Jesus. One more time. Learning to lean. Learning to lean. I'm learning to lean on Jesus. I never dreamed I'm learning to lean on Jesus.
