I grew up in a Christian home. My dad is a pastor so I heard the gospel at an early age. I don't know how well I understood it at first. I did not understand so much about sin until I was about 12 or 13 years old. It was then that I saw clearly that I was a sinner and understood what Jesus had done for me. I surrendered my life to him and asked him to forgive me of my sins because of what he did on the cross. It is by far the best thing that has happened to me and I've never done the same since. I've been really helped in my Christian life by the work of Truth for Youth and the ministries of Carl Kirby, Answers in Genesis, and Ray Comfort, which have helped strengthen my belief in the Bible as the inspired word of God. And I'm incredibly grateful for all my family, friends, and those here at Union Chapel for their prayers and support. It has helped amazingly. I'm being baptized today because it's what Jesus commanded Christians to do. And it's something I've been putting off doing. But during the last year or so, all the Bible passages about baptism have been standing out to me so much that I realized to put it off further would be wrong. And because of this, I'm being baptized today. Amen.
