Standing Fast to the Day of Christ

The remainder of the chapter presents the contrast to the saints of the church at Thessalonica to those which are deceived and perishing. Paul was bound to give thanks to God for His election of them unto salvation. And he encouraged them, that until that day come, to stand fast and cleave to the precious truths of Christ.
