Despised and Rejected
Series Jesus in the Psalms & Isaiah
What a somber presentation opens Isaiah 53! The subject is Christ Jesus. We see His condescension in verses two and three. He lowered Himself to become a man and be despised by other men. He came and grew as a "tender plant". He did not present Himself with ostentation, pomp and circumstance. He did not look like a prince from the lineage of David and the promised Messiah. Jesus stooped to endure men's hate.
