Okay, over to the Bible to Matthew. Oh, nope, I lied. John. John chapter 21. We're going to be looking at verse 15. Like I said, I'm excited about this little lesson the Lord has given me. Today, I went to the Dollar General today, over by the house. And I saw something that made me smile ear from ear. I was at the cashier, and the lady behind the cashier was looking at me. I didn't know she was looking at me. I was looking down, and I saw this paper right here. This is the Wayne County tent revival. And I was just smiling. I was just laughing. I was like, I cannot believe we're going to have a revival. I'm so excited. And I looked up, and the lady looked at me and said, are you OK? I said, yeah, that was great. And the reason why I wanted to bring this up was because That was in Canova, West Virginia. And the reason why I want to bring that up, because to be honest with you guys, when I go home, I don't know anything that happens in Wayne County. And you guys know nothing that happened in Canova. And what I love about this little paper that was in Canova, I was thinking, you know what? Imagine how many lost people saw that little paper and thinking, oh, I wonder what this is about. And I was thinking, you know, as Christian church, and the reason why I was so happy, because I felt like it went with my little lesson I had this evening, because as Christian church, it is so important that we go out and that we feed the sheep. Okay, that is so important. And I honestly believe the reason why that's so important, because there are so many Christians, and there's so many churches in this world, in this country, in this county, that forget that little part. Church, we are called to be a disciple. We are called to feed the sheep. And I honestly believe, like I said, I'm going to get to my little lesson, but I honestly believe that's why a lot of people get burned out. They go, well, you know, I got saved, and I went to church every Sunday, every Wednesday, and I just get burned out. And I'm thinking, well, hold on now. Going to church is great. That's a great way to hear the Word of God. But my question for you this evening is, are you serving? Are you serving the Lord this evening? I mean, listen, if you serve the Lord, let me tell you, you're going to have so much joy in your life. Why? Because you're being obedient to him. You're going to receive so much blessing because you are being obedient in serving the Lord. So I want to talk about feed my sheep, John chapter 21, verse 15. And the reason why I love this little moment that we have, keep in mind, guys, this is after Peter denied Jesus Christ three times. Let me tell you something, that had to feel awful, church. I mean, listen, I'll be honest, I have denied the Lord before. I know I'm not alone. Sometimes, you know, maybe there's a part, I remember a moment in my life where someone would say, hey, don't you go to that church in Falmouth, Kentucky? No, I mean, yeah, I go there, but you know, I just, I go there because my dad preached there. That was me denying the Lord. I should have said, yes, I go there. This is where I go to serve the Lord. Church, it is an awful feeling to deny our Heavenly Father. But there's a moment that is so beautiful, and I want to look into that this evening. So we're going to look at John 21. We're going to start at verse 15. John 21. Verse 15. Okay, I'm ready. So when they had done Jesus, done, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon the son of Jonah, lovest thou me than these? He said unto him, yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. And he said unto him, now listen, church, feed my lambs. Verse 16. And he said to him again, The second time, and Simon the son of Jonah, lovest thou me? He said unto him, yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. And he said unto him, feed my sheep. Verse 17. He said unto him the third time, Simon the son of Jonah, lovest thou me? And Peter would grieve because he said unto him a third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto the Lord, Thou knowest all these things. Thou knowest that I love thee, Jesus. And Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep. Lord, let me tell you something, church. He desires us to be the people who live in the service of others. Jesus, and what I love about this is that this is the moment where Jesus is clearing the air. He said, hey, I forgive you for what you have done. But listen, you have got to do something for me. And what is that? And that's to feed my sheep, Lord. Listen, let me tell you something, church. We have got to start taking the Word of God very seriously. Why? Because when we don't take the Word of God seriously, then what the problem is, we don't take the Word and we don't put it out into the world. It is our job to take this word and put it out to the world. Let me tell you something, church. There are so many people lost going up and down the road. And let me tell you, Jesus called us to feed his sheep, just like he was calling Peter and all the disciples around him to feed my sheep. Let me tell you something, church. Let me tell you this, is that God has given you a talent. He has given you a gift, and you've got to use it for Him. For example, I have a loud mouth. I like to talk. I drive my wife crazy. But let me tell you something, when we go to the mall or go shopping or do whatever we do on her day off, I always tell her, I go, well, I'm in a good mood to talk to people. And she's like, well, I'm glad you are because I'm not in a good mood to talk to people. I get so excited because God has given me a gift to just to talk and talk people's legs off. Well, guess what? He has given you a gift. And that gift has got to be a way to show people who Jesus is. It is our job to plant the seed, church, and let God handle the rest. Let's go to Flippin, chapter 2. We're going to go back. I'm going to read a couple more verses so you can hold your place, mark your place, or whatever. But I want to go to Flippin real quick. Flippin, chapter 2, verse 17. There's a moment that there's a quick verse of Paul. Hang on a second, let me get there real quick. Flipping chapter 2, I'm going to look at verse 17. Flipping chapter 2 verse 17 says this, it says, hang on. He said, yes, this is Paul talking, yea and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy and rejoice with you all. And the reason why I wanted to read that Because Paul is rejoicing the church of the Philippians. He's rejoicing because he's seeing them grow in grace, mature in their life, in their Christian life. And that's why it's so important, because I think that's the reason why he had so much courage when he was writing the book of Philippians, because he had so much joy, because even though he was in the Roman prison, he knew that God was in control. and he knew that God had a plan for him just like he did with all the early churches. He had a plan for them and he was encouraging them to keep moving. And the reason I was thinking about this is because so many churches, guys, we stopped moving for the Lord. We have to keep moving. There is a community full of lost people in our back door. But we just want to stay right here in our little bubble and say, leave us alone. We don't want to help you. Listen, we need to help those people. Just like when Paul was helping the church to flip it, he would encourage them, even when he was in a bad spot. Imagine being in prison. That would feel awful. Imagine being in prison for worshiping Jesus Christ. My, my. I mean, think about that. We are spoiled church. We can have church anywhere, and guess what? People might call us names, but I don't think we'll go to jail for it. Imagine what Paul was going through that moment, but he had joy because he was seeing his Christian brothers and sisters. They were having church, and he was encouraging them to keep going because God has a purpose, guys, and we have to keep moving. We can't stop. So many times we just say, you know what, Lord, I'm just going to get comfortable in church, and I just want to be left alone. But let me tell you something, if you're going to be a Christian, you're going to be a follower of Jesus Christ, we must keep moving, and we must be a light for Jesus Christ. And I don't care how old you are. You can be 33 years old, and you're probably thinking, well, Asa, you know, I sit alone in my house, and I don't see nobody. Well, guess what? You can still make an impact to the world. You can make an impact to this community. But all you have to do is just be obedient to God, and I promise you, God will put you in a position that He wants you to be, church. He will put you there. But what does it mean to feed my sheep? Three times, Jesus asked Peter to take care of the sheep, to feed the sheep, the lamb, the sheep, and He said the sheep one more time. And do you know what that means? That means the church. Take care of the church. Take care of the people. Let's go to Luke chapter 15. Now, I want to read this parable real quick. Luke chapter 15, verse 4. Luke chapter 15, verse 4, says this. Now, hang on. Give me a second. Luke chapter 15. Oh, hang on a second. I went the wrong way. Chapter 4 says this. what man of you having a hundred sheep if you lose one of them thou not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until he finds it verse five and when he has found it He lays now on his shoulder rejoicing. And when he come home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep, which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise, joy shall be in heaven over sinner that repenteth. More than over 99, just person which needs no repentance. Church, he used this term, because let me tell you, he used this parable because, let me tell you, he used this parable because he tells right here, he said, hey, he said, hey, I will lead the 99 in the wilderness just to find that one lost. And what's amazing about that is that lost person, that lost sheep, that was us, church. We were that lost that Jesus went out and got. He was that lost sheep that he came over and that when we accepted the blood of Jesus Christ, that heaven rejoiced. But the thing is, though, as to be a Christian church, we have got to be like Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the perfect example for us, and we have to be the one to go out and find the lost people. I was thinking about this the other day. I was preaching at this little church where there's hardly nobody there, and I got to thinking, what's so sad is that there's not even one lost person walking through this door. Church, there should be lost people every Sunday and every Wednesday walking through the door. Why? Because we need to be inviting them to come to church. If they don't come to church, well, guess what? We need to bring church to them. Just like when Jesus, the parable saying that you go out and find that one sheep. We all know somebody in our life that is lost. And let me tell you, listen, they will thank you if they accept the blood of Jesus Christ. They're going to thank you. Why? Because they get to avoid that awful, awful place. But it's so sad, because I was thinking about that. I was thinking, you know, I kind of got down and out on myself. I was thinking, you know what? I felt like I've been doing OK on the pulpit. I said, Lord, I said, how come no one getting saved? You know, the Lord told me, he said, that's not your job. No, this is, hey, your job is to plant the seed. And let me handle the rest. And it's up to them. It's just like all those lost people that we know. It's up to them. But all we can do is just plant the seed. Jesus invited him and his disciples to be a part of his church. Now, what does feed my sheep mean? It means that we need to nurture others. We need to care for the churches. We need to feed believers and lost with spiritual words. We need to protect the church. And listen to this, we have got to go out and seek the lost church. We have to. Listen, you know what? Oh, I wasn't going to say this. Oh, I'm going to say it. Sorry. The Lord's been working with me, and I've been fighting him for so long. And I'm about to give it. I'm about to say, Lord, I'm done. But let me tell you guys, we have got to do more than what we do in this church building. Like I said, so many people are driving by, they don't even know who Jesus Christ is. I saw this video, I think my wife sent me this video of this guy going around the grocery store. He said, I would give you a $10 gift card, maybe a $20 gift card, just name me one Bible verse. that none of them could do it. He went to at least 10 to 20 people. None of them could give him one Bible verse. That tells me that we are failing, church, that we need to go out and we got to start to tell people about the great gift that had been promised to us. But they have to accept that gift, church. We have to plant that seed. We have to go out and we have to seek the lost, church. When Jesus was talking to Peter back in John, what's He doing? He's restoring that relationship with Peter. And He's telling Peter to continue the mission of the early churches. He's telling him to continue to spread the good news, and that good news is that Jesus Christ has died for our sins. And through the blood of Jesus Christ, all we have to do is repent and confess that Lord is Lord. and you get to receive that wonderful gift. Let's go back to John chapter 21, and I want to continue reading that verse 18. John chapter 21, verse 18. John chapter 21, verse 18. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, when thou wast young, thou gladdest thyself, and walk'd whither thou wouldest. But when thou shalt be old, thou shalt shout forth thy hand, and others shall grid thee, and carry thee, whither thou wouldest not. Verse 19. Then spake he, and said, what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, He said unto him, follow me. Verse 20, then Peter turning out to see the disciple whom Jesus loved following, which also leaned on his breast at the supper and said, Lord, which is he that betrayed thee? Verse 21, Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Verse 22, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? Follow thou me." Church, the disciple that he was talking to, he was telling them, hey, just follow me. Listen, what's so interesting about this is that, I was thinking about this, you know, we're going to read in Matthew here in a second, but, you know, we are all called to be disciples. I truly believe that. And I believe that we all have to go out and spread the good news. Just like these disciples did. Their job was to go out and start the churches in the beginning and to spread the good news. And let me tell you guys, this was not an easy task for them. This was going to be hard for them. They had to face challenges. But what Jesus says, he says, follow me, feed my sheep. And it's so important that we understand is that when we follow Jesus Christ, we got to give it all. Just like when Jesus was talking to that young man, he said, hey, you've done everything, but why don't you give all your money to the poor? He said, hey, just give me all. Do you have enough faith to give me all? Do you have enough faith to give Jesus your all? Let me tell you something, church. Jesus Christ, He will get you through what He wants you to get through. If you're out there and you think, you know what, Asa? I am scared to death to tell people about Jesus Christ. Well, listen, don't try to fix it. Just go ahead and lean onto Jesus Christ. And I promise you, Jesus Christ will get you the courage to shine His light. But what is a disciple? A disciple, they are the follower of Jesus. They learn from Jesus. And that's who we are. We're here to follow Jesus and we're here to learn about Jesus and more about Jesus. We're here to spread the gospel. We're here to disciple others. But so many times we just wanna come to church and we just wanna sit down. Listen, we gotta stop sitting. Too many people are going to the wrong place. Listen, I don't know what it's like in the older generation, but I know my generation and below, we're a mess right now. We're trying to do things, we're trying to come up with things that will fulfill the hole in their heart, and the problem is that they end up having regret because the hole in their heart's not being fulfilled, and we can't tell them the reason why your heart's not being fulfilled because you don't have Jesus. You've got to have Jesus in your heart. You've got to accept Him. And I promise you, their heart will be full, but we've got to tell them. Listen, people think church is a bad place to go. We need to tell them, no! This is a place where we can go and worship. We can go and praise Him, church. Let's look at Matthew chapter 28. I don't know why I wrote this down. I know why I wrote this down, but I want to read it. And I just hope that it just kind of blends in with my lesson. Because the Lord's like, hey, I want you to read this verse. And I say, OK, Lord, I'll do whatever you want me to do, brother. Matthew 28, verse 19, says this. It says, go ye therefore and teach all nations. That doesn't mean just teach the people in Wayne County. It says all nations we need to go out and teach. Baptize him in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Verse 20, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you in love. I am with you. Now listen, church, listen. I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. That is so powerful. We have nothing to be afraid of. Why? Because Jesus said right here, I am with you always. To the what? To the very end of the world. My goodness, what a friend to have. Listen, I know we've all been betrayed. Imagine how Jesus felt when Peter betrayed him, knowing that he would. He probably, it had to be a sin to Jesus' heart, but you know what Jesus Christ did? He forgave him. And he reminded him, hey, you're on a mission. You have a mission right now, and that's to go and feed my sheep. Let me tell you something, church. We are on a mission. And let me tell you, if anybody ever done us wrong, don't forget what Jesus did to Peter. We need to forgive them. And let me tell you something, church. We need to go out and we need to ask people to forgive us. I'm sure we've done things to people that make people go, you know what? Why would I serve Jesus when this person go to church? Listen, we need to go there and say, you know what? I messed up. I shouldn't have said what I said. I should have done what I've done. Forgive me and move on. Okay, we can't hold grudges. We can't let the devil hold that past trust because they know what devil Yes, I know what I did was awful, but that's behind me because Jesus has moved on Jesus has forgiven me And he has forgotten about it What I love about this is that he says, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid to speak. Don't be afraid to tell people about Jesus. Don't be afraid to plant the seed. Do not be afraid to shine His light. Why? Because Jesus made a promise that He will be with us until the end of the world. I tell you what, church, if that don't give you joy, I tell you what, I don't know what's going on in your life. But I tell you what, this gives me so much joy that I know that Jesus Christ is with me always until the very end. I'm so thankful. I'm so thankful. Church, I'm here to remind you one more time that regardless of the world, listen, shine your light for Jesus Christ. Listen, we're only going to be here for a short period of time. Listen, I thought 30 years old was going to be old. And I realized that I'm still young, guys. OK? This world is moving so fast. It's moving. I mean, I did a math in my head. I was like, OK, when Joey turns 20, I'm going to be, you know, I'm going to be almost 50. Oh my goodness. We're only here just for a little bit. So why not serve the Lord while we're here? Why not give Him all while we're here? Because when we die, we get to spend the rest of our life with Him. We get to worship Him. We get to sing His songs. We get to praise Him. And I can't wait to get there. I'm not, listen, I always used to say, well, I'm not resting to get there. But let me tell you, whenever God's called me, I just hope and I pray that I'm as close as I am to Him. And I pray that you guys are too. Listen, I know that this world can be hard. I know this world can be tough. And you got people shouting down at you. But listen, you have to remember that you serve the one who created it all. You serve the one that is the beginning and the end. You serve the one that made every single one of us. That's the one you serve. And you also serve the one that loved us enough that the sin had only stunned the dying of Christ for our sin. And like I said, what I love about this verse that we read at the very end, Jesus said, I am with you always, even till the end. Do not be afraid to go out and feed Jesus' sheep, because that's what we're supposed to do. We're supposed to go out and seek the lost. We're supposed to care for the church. We're supposed to, you know, be open arms to whoever walks through the door and let them know about Jesus Christ, okay? That's it in my lesson. I hope that makes sense. If it doesn't, come back to church on Sunday, okay? I love you guys. Does anybody want to add anything to it?
