A new husband

The law cannot produce holiness. Only the gospel can produce holiness. 1) The legal principle - the law's authority over us is limited to when we are alive. 2) The domestic illustration - death legitimately ends an old marriage and enables the start of a new marriage. 3) The spiritual application - in order to be holy, Christians must not be married to the Law but to Jesus.
