One of the most astonishing things that I discovered before becoming a Christian was the fact that the greatest scientists in human history, and the men and women who made most of the scientific discoveries that made modern science possible, were theists. And many of them were Bible-believing Christians. This not only opened my eyes to the fact that public schools lie and cover up the facts that refute their Darwinian narrative, but that real science has led many people to believe in God and to investigate the Bible, resulting in their becoming born again Christian believers in Jesus Christ. And the Bible actually tells us that creation is a witness of God. and of his eternal power and Godhead. Romans 1 19-20 tells us, Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. I can testify to the fact that my observation of creation and of observable, confirmable science led me to believe in a creator God. And that is obviously a necessary first step toward faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 1982, about seven years before I became a Christian, Henry Morris of the Institute for Creation Research published a little book titled, Men of Science, Men of God. I'm not certain, but I believe that I read portions of that book or possibly read some other booklet written by someone else with a similar title. But I now have Henry Morse's book in my own personal library. And we have a copy in our small church library because the information found in that book had a serious impact on my life. It was in this material that I was first introduced to Johann Kepler. He's considered the father of physical astronomy and is credited with discovering the law of planetary motion. The laws of planetary motion explain the orbits of planets in our solar system. If you go to the NASA website today and look up a page titled Orbits and Kepler's Laws, it says, quote, the story of how we understand planetary motion could not be told if it were not for the work of a German mathematician named Johannes Kepler, end quote. But what you will not find on the NASA website is any reference to Kepler's praise for the creator God. No mention of his faith in Jesus Christ. Not a word about how the Bible provided the foundation and motivation that led Kepler in his scientific research. Kepler's works formed the basis of our knowledge of the motion of stars and tracking the stars in the sky. And he's credited with providing the foundation for the mechanics of everything celestial in our universe. He's also credited with making significant contributions in the development of calculus, a branch of mathematics that only about 2% of the human population of Earth even understand, and I'm one of those 98% that don't. But men like Isaac Newton followed Kepler's work to create what we call calculus. And without calculus, there'd be no space flight, there'd be no more Or it'd be a lot more dams breaking from pressures. Engineers would be unable to do their work and so forth. So Kepler in his own words said that he believes science or the process of science is simply, quote, thinking God's thoughts after him. end quote. He wanted to study God's creation to understand God. As we dive deeper into what God has created, whether it's out there in the universe as we look through a telescope, or we study human anatomy, or we look under a microscope, or wherever we dig and research, we see the amazing omniscience and omnipotence of God in new and fascinating ways. Johann Kepler's testimony bears witness to the evidence for God found in science when a man or woman chooses to simply believe the real science and see the intelligent designers work for what it is. As described in John 1, 1-3, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.
