Because you know why I know it's
from God? Because it's all in the Bible. I want you to think
about what we're going to talk about. And I want you to receive
you. Thank you. Thank you. That was
good. I like a passionate person. I
like someone who's not a phony. I like someone who's real. Amen.
You know what I am? I'm a no good, rotten, wretched
sinner saved by the amazing grace of God. I don't belong in heaven. I don't deserve his love and
his goodness, but yet he gives it to me. I deserve to be in
hell forever and ever and ever, but I'm not going. So therefore,
thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen. I had nothing to do with
it. I don't, there's nothing I can
do for it. Amen. So all I can do is appreciate
it and give God the thanks. And that's what I want you to
think about something today. Mark chapter two, let me know
when you're there. I'm gonna try to get through this. Where's that baby going? That
baby can't leave. Get that baby up here. You gotta
see that baby, little Abigail, she's the cutest baby. Amen. Mark chapter two, are you all
there? I want you to look at me in verse 17. It says, when
Jesus heard it, he said unto them, they that are whole have
no need of the physician. but they that are sick. I came
not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. I want you to think about that,
what he just said. Brian, turn me down, I got a
ring. He says, they that are whole do not need, they have
no need of the physician. The Bible calls Jesus our great
physician. He is the healer, amen? And when
you think about those that are whole do not need Jesus. Those
that are whole, what does it mean to be whole? It means that
you're perfect. It means you have no problems whatsoever.
There's nothing wrong with you. You're complete. I don't know
about you, but that ain't me. I'm sick. And that's what he
said. I come for those that are sick.
And look what else he says. He says, they that are whole
have no need of the physician, but they that are sick. He says,
I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. I don't know about you, but he
came to save me because I'm a sick sinner. It's hard to believe
that some people actually don't realize how sick they are. The
title of the message, by the way, is, are you sick? And are
you sick? And there's a whole lot of different
degrees. I can go with that one. But we're just going to try to
stay on track on the one. When He says those that are whole,
He means those that are complete. Those that don't need anything.
Those that are perfect. Those that have no need of the
great physician. You know, God sent His Son to
this earth to call some certain people. He said, I didn't come
to call the righteous. So if you're whole, He didn't
come for you. If you're righteous, He's not
calling you. I want you to think about that.
Because there's so many people that believe they're not sick.
There's so many people that believe I'm all right. There's so many
people that do not believe that they are sick. You know what
makes you sick? Sin makes you sick. Sin makes
you sick and sickening in the eyes of God. And you become a
festering puss. We'll look at that in a second.
I know you love to hear that one. But those who believe they're
also righteous, they don't believe they're sick and they don't believe
that they need repentance. And that's a shame, Tony, because
I'll tell you right now, if you don't think you need to repent,
that means you're saying to God, I'm righteous. I'm righteous,
I don't need repentance. In Luke 15, verse seven, it says
that there is many, actually most, that really believe that
they need no repentance. It says, I say unto you that
likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents.
More than over 99 just people, persons which need no repentance. I have not yet met someone, I
have not yet met the person that doesn't need repentance. But
when one person comes, and truly turns their heart to God and
repents, there's joy in heaven. There's joy actually in the presence
of the angels, the Bible says. In Romans 3.10, it says that
there is none righteous, no, not one. How many people are
righteous? None. How many people are righteous?
None. How about one of you? None. And
that's the whole point to the message of Jesus saying, I didn't
come to call the righteous. I didn't come for those that
think they're okay. I didn't come for those that
think they're good. I came for sinners. Apostle Paul,
you're going to read, said, I'm the chiefest of sinners. David
said, I am a worm. I'm a maggot. David. See, the
closer you get to God, the more you see who you really are. The
closer you get to God, the bigger He gets and the smaller you get.
The farther you get away from God, the bigger you get and the
smaller He gets. In Romans chapter 3, where we
just were, Romans 3 verses 10 to 12, if you want to turn there,
I don't know if he's going to put it up, but it says, as it
is written, there is none righteous. No, no, not even one. There is
none that understandeth. There is none that seeketh after
God. They are all going out of the
way. They are together become unprofitable. There is none that do it good.
No, not one. So I want you to think when people,
when you think about yourself and say, I'm a good person, God
says, no one's good. Well, I'm a good person. I don't,
you know, steal and rob and kill. There's none righteous. No, not
one. I love how he puts that. He says,
there's none righteous. And he goes, no, not one. Cause you know,
there's always that one person. You know that one person, well
not me, I'm not like them. Well, that's exactly the people
that he's talking about in the scriptures where we just read.
Jesus is going into this man Levi's house. He's a publican.
He's a tax collector, just like Matthew was. And he goes to him
and he said, hey, follow me. And he gets up and he follows
Jesus and they go to his house and all sinners and publicans
end up in the whole house. Kind of like this room right
now. except they knew. And so Jesus is there eating
with them. But the righteous people and the people that think
that they're so good, they go, he's eating with a bunch of sinners. Doesn't he know what kind of
people they are? And Jesus heard it. He said, those that are whole
don't need a physician, have no need of a physician. I want
you to think about that because there's people in this room that
think they don't, they won't say it. And their thoughts really
aren't there yet. That's why I'm hoping that it
brings it together that you think I don't need Jesus. I don't need
Him. There's no need for Him. Because
I'm alright. I'm saved. I'm okay. I'll tell
you right now, I need Jesus every hour. That's not even true. I need Jesus every half hour.
I need Jesus every minute, brother. Amen. You know why? Because I
know I'm sick. I know I'm sick. The only rodent
here that's good is Larry. Right, Larry? Say, I know, Larry. That's why I can say it. Larry's
worse than me. No, that's not true. I'm the
worst. Are you sick? Are you a sinner? And that's
what Jesus said, I've come for you. I've come to heal you. I've come to save you. Brian,
turn me down, I'm ringing a little bit. I want you to think about
these verses that we're gonna read in a minute. But when it
tells you in Romans chapter three, verse 23, it says, for all have
sinned and come short of the glory of God. For all, Mother
Teresa even, everybody. Everybody, see, I and Larry,
we're the only ones in here probably, but we came really far. Like
if we die, we're so far from God. We can't get there. We're
really far away. But there's some of you here
that are way better than us, like Linda and Steve. They're sinners,
but they're way better than us. And so they've done so much good
in their life. And when they die, they're going
to be closer, but they still fall short. Everyone's a sinner and everyone
falls short. And that's why he tells us, he
said, there's none that understands. There's none that seeketh after
God. For all have become unprofitable. And when it says for all have
sinned and come short of the glory of God, let me ask you
a question. If there's none righteous, I wanna know where's the righteous?
Where are they? I can't find them. I looked in
the phone book. They weren't there. I looked
in my phone and all that. They weren't there. I looked
on Facebook. They weren't there. I looked on YouTube. They weren't
there either. So I said, I'm going to come
to church and look in the church. Eww. Bunch of sick people. They're not here either because
there's none righteous. No, not one. And if I want to
see someone that is sick and I want to see someone that's
unrighteous, I just have to look in the mirror. And when I wake
up in the morning and I look in the mirror, Brother Joe, I
look at that guy in the mirror and say, what are you up to today?
What are you going to do today against my Savior, my Lord? In
Mark chapter 2 verse 15, well you don't have to turn there,
we just talked about it. But when He's there eating and drinking
with the sinners, He comes to heal. He comes to save. He isn't coming for those that
think they don't need Him. He's not coming for the religious
crowd. He's not coming for the people that think they're alright.
He's coming for the people that are sick and sinners. And I thank
God that I know who I am. I thank God that I know that
I'm sick and I know that I'm a sinner. In 1 Timothy 1.15,
great, great verse, it says, This is a faithful saying and
worthy of all acceptation. That means worthy for everyone
to accept it. That Christ Jesus came into the
world to save sinners. Of whom I am chief. Apostle Paul
said. Apostle Paul, yeah, me too, you're
hot too? Amen. Me too, I put on, you know
what I have that you don't have? I have air conditioning right
there, amen. I turned it off because I knew she was gonna
come up and was freezing up here, but I'm gonna cool it down a
little bit. These poor ladies are gonna freeze. You okay over
here? You sure? She's not okay, we're gonna keep
it off now, amen. I know that look, amen, praise
the Lord. I know that look, I'm mm-mm. That's why they sit there,
the heat goes right on. When he says it's worthy of all
acceptation to accept that Jesus Christ came for sinners. And
if you don't know Jesus because you think you're all right, you
don't know Jesus, you think I'm okay. In other words, he said
those that are whole have no need. Can you imagine Zach thinking
I don't need Jesus? That's crazy when you think about
it. In Matthew 1.23, it says, well, before we get there, the
name Jesus, just his name means Jehovah who saves. It means the
Lord who saves. You know, Yahshua is the same
as Joshua, which means the same name as Jesus. It means the Lord
who saves. I need the Lord who saves. Amen.
You know, when I think of Yeshua, I think of Jehovah will save. And that's what everyone in the
Old Testament, they knew Jehovah was the Lord and they knew that
one day he would save us. It says in Matthew 1.23, it says,
a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son and
they shall call his name Emmanuel, which means God is with us. So
I don't know about you, but if you think you're righteous, that
means you think you're equal with God. If you think you're
whole and perfect, that means you're equal with God. How far
away are we from that? Seriously, think about that.
God sent his son. Amen. God sent his son to call
sinners. God sent his son to heal those
who are sick. I thank God that I realize I'm
sick and I need healing. In Romans 4, chapter 8, we read
this. I'm sorry, Romans chapter 4 verse
8, it says this, it says, blessed is the man to whom the Lord will
not impute sin. Cometh this blessedness then
upon the circumcision only, that means Jews, or upon the uncircumcised
only? For we say that faith was reckoned
to Abraham for righteousness. It was reckoned unto him. That
means it was given to him. Matter of fact, it goes on to
say this. It says, how was it then reckoned? When he was in circumcision or
in uncircumcision, not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. And he
received a sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of
faith, which he had yet being uncircumcised, that he might
be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised. Listen to this, that the righteousness
of God might be imputed unto them also. You see, he's righteous. He's perfect. I'm sick and I'm
a sinner. I hear the gospel message, the
truth of the Lord Jesus Christ came to save sinners of whom
I am one. Anyone else one? He says, I've
come to heal the broken hearted. Anyone else had a broken heart?
Anyone been sick? Meaning in your mind, in your
body, in your spirit, in your soul, I need healing. I find
out that he's the healer. And I find out and I believe
that I come to him. And you know what he does? He takes my sin. He takes my sickness and he gives
me his righteousness. We got a swap going on. Hey man,
we got a swap. I'm like, hey honey, I'll tell
you what. I'm going to give you this really nice little throat
lozenge. I want money. No. I'm going to
give you this really nice throat lozenge and you're going to give
me a hundred bucks in exchange. No. What do you mean no? Here
you go. That's not even close. All my
sicknesses, all my diseases, all my filthiness, all my sin,
he takes it from me. And He gives me all His righteousness
in return. I'm like, what? Who would do
that? God. That's what God has done. But
you've got to come to Him as you really are. Who's sick? Who's a sinner? Then you need Jesus. If you don't
think you're sick and you don't think you're a sinner, then you
become Him. He said, those that are whole have no need. They
don't need me. And I'm here to tell you right
now, it's a scary thing to think that you don't need God. Amen? Righteousness
was imputed to imputation. We're going to read that verse
in a minute. That means, like I just said, that we come to
God with all of our sins and he takes it from us because Jesus
died on that cross. Remember that? Jesus took our
place on the cross. He took the sin of mankind, all
of mankind on the cross, and God killed his own son. Just like he told Abraham to
do, to Abraham, give me your son, your only son in whom you
love, and offered him the burnt sacrifice. And Abraham took him
and put him on the altar and was ready to kill him. And God
said, no, Abraham, don't touch him. Now I know you fear me. Because he was showing, I'm going
to do that to my son. but I'm not gonna do it just
for one, I'm gonna do it for all. Because the whole world
is under sin, the whole world is sick. In Romans chapter 10,
it's a great chapter, if you wanna go there. In Romans chapter
10, I'm not gonna read the whole chapter, but you sure could,
because it's all in there. But in verse one to verse three,
it says, brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God is for
Israel, is that they might be saved. For I bear them record
that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Verse three, pay attention. For they being ignorant of God's
righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness,
they have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
People go about to establish their own righteousness. You
know, John, that's what religion does. Religion gets you to go
to religion and makes you feel like I'm establishing myself.
I'm establishing something about that name. It's a great song.
But they go about to establish their own righteousness. I go
to church. I'm good. I put money in the plate. I'm
a good person. I don't curse. Don't chew. And I don't even
go with those who do. I don't smoke. I don't drink.
I don't do drugs. I don't gamble. I don't even
lie. That's a lie. I don't even...
And they think so they're establishing their own righteousness. Do you
understand that? And that's exactly what he's saying is like, they
don't understand God's righteousness because there's none righteous
and there's nothing you can do to be righteous. You are lost,
you're sick and you're a sinner and you must come to Jesus Christ
for salvation. And that's the whole point of
the message of the gospel that you need him. He's the only way. He said, I'm the way, I'm the
truth, I'm the life. No man comes to the Father, but
by me. It goes on in Romans chapter
10, and I'm only going to read one or two verses more. It says,
but for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall
be saved. It says, how then shall they
call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they
believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they
hear without a preacher? That's why I'm up here preaching,
hoping and praying that at least one person will get it. At least
one person will get saved and all their sins forgiven and they'll
be healed. You know how many people are
looking for love? Looking to be loved. God is love. The things that you find on this
earth between people is lust. Things you find on earth between
people can never satisfy you. The love of Christ satisfies
you because he truly and honestly loves you. And when you're truly
and honestly loved, you feel complete, you feel good, you
feel better. When you're lonely, you ever
been lonely? Loneliness is terrible. Even God said, it's not good
that man should be alone. And so what it is is, but the
problem is people start looking to be whole through somebody
else. And they start looking and then
they end up with this person and that person and this person,
and they end up, lost, when really God's the one that wants to come
in and wants to fulfill that place and fill that void and
heal you of loneliness, heal you of love, heal your sadness,
heal your... You know what so many people,
they always say, what is God's will for me? But the truth of
the matter is, they only say that when they hear a message
about it. Every single day, they're looking for purpose in this world.
They're looking like, why am I here? I feel empty inside. I love that the Savior comes
in and I've never felt empty again. I've never felt alone
again. I've never felt unloved again. He's amazing, amazing
God. You know, when it tells us that
it says they do not understand God's righteousness, so they
go about to establish their own righteousness. In Deuteronomy
verse 30 and 14, Paul quotes that right here in chapter three
and in chapter 10. And he says this, he says, for
Moses described the righteousness which is of the law, that the
man which does those things shall live in them. And he said, but
the righteousness, which is of faith, speaks on this wise. Do
not say in your heart who will go to heaven and send into heaven,
that is, to bring Christ down from above, or who shall descend
into the deep, that is, to bring Christ up again from the dead.
But what does it say? The word is near you, nigh you,
it's even in your mouth and in your heart. That is the word
of faith, which we preach, that if you will confess with your
mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God is risen
from the dead, that thou shall be saved. And it goes to say
in Deuteronomy, that exact thing. And I'm going to read it for
you. And this is where it came from
in Deuteronomy chapter 30, verse 11 to 14. It says, for this is
the commandment, which I commanded thee this day. It's not hidden
from you. It's neither is it far off. It
says, it's not in heaven that you should say, who shall go
up for us to heaven and bring it down to us, that we may hear
it and do it. Neither is it beyond the sea
that you should say, who shall go over into the sea for us and
bring it to us that we may hear it and do it. But the word is
very near you. It's even in your mouth and in
your heart that you may do it. See, I've set before thee this
day life and good and death and evil. If you're sick today, you
can be healed today. If you're a sinner today, you
can be saved today. You see, I have no righteousness
of my own, but He gives me His. You can leave this place righteous,
not because of yourself, but because of the gift that He gives
you. You can come in a sinner, come in sick and leave healed
and leave a righteous person. But knowing the knowledge that
it's not me, it's him. Knowing the knowledge that it's
none of me, it's all of him. And the truth of the matter is,
is the Bible says that the unrighteous shall not inherit the earth.
The Bible says that you must be righteous to get into the
kingdom. You must be righteous to get into heaven. You must
be righteous to have God. How am I ever gonna be righteous?
He gives you his righteousness. I'll tell you what, it gets better
from here when you think about the things. Proverbs 30 verse
four, and you don't have to turn there, but it says, who has ascended
into heaven or descended? Who has gathered the wind in
his fist? Who has bound the waters in his garment? Who has established
all the ends of the earth? And the answer is God, God, God,
only God. It says, what's his name? Jehovah,
God of Israel. What's his son's name? If you
can tell. To all our Jewish friends, and
I love the Jewish people, I love Israel, I love them. And God
loves them. One day they'll all get saved,
one day. But right now, they establish their own righteousness.
And Catholics, I was Catholic my whole life, I love Catholics.
But they go to establish their own righteousness. By doing all
the rosary beads and doing everything, I'm right with God. I did this,
I took my sacraments, I did this. And you go to the Mormons, and
you go to this, and you go to this religion, and you go to
that religion. And they all help you to establish your own righteousness,
when the truth of the matter is there's none righteous, and
you can't be righteous. You can only get it from Jesus Christ.
He gives it to you. It's a gift. Thank you is right.
You know, the Bible tells us that we're all sinners. We're
all sick. We're all gone our own way. We've gone the way that
we want to go. In Isaiah 53, it says, we all
like sheep have gone astray. Amen. We all have gone our own
way. Amen? And that's, and so therefore
God has sent his son and laid upon him the iniquity of us all.
Jesus Christ is so amazing. He's the only way to heal you.
He's the only way to save you. The Bible tells us that there's
a transaction that has to take place, a trade. A sinner has
to come to the Savior. and believe in Him and call upon
Him. And the Savior hears him and takes from him his sin and
sickness and gives to him a transaction and gives to him his righteousness.
So when God looks at you, He says you're righteous. Now you
might not feel righteous, You might not sound righteous, but
in God's eyes, you are righteous. Not because of anything that
you've done, but because of who you have. He that has the Son
has life. When you have Jesus, you have
righteousness. When you have Jesus, you have
wholeness, you have healing. When you have Jesus, you have
joy. When you have Jesus, you have peace. When you have Jesus,
you have love. When you have Jesus, you have
strength. When you have Jesus, you have every single thing you
need. Because He's the one that gives it to you. And what happens
is every single day we wake up and we think we don't need Him.
We think we don't need Him. Even though you have Him, you
think you don't need Him. You don't talk to Him. You don't
praise Him. You don't sing to Him. You don't worship Him. You
don't read about Him. You don't study about Him. You
don't tell people about Him. And then when you're feeling
sick and down, you expect Him to be there. I'm here to tell
you right now, if you have him, if you can remember a time when
you knew you were lost and going to hell and you called upon his
name and he saved you, that feeling of salvation, you'll never forget
it. I wanna hurry up and get through this, but I want you
to think about these verses that we're about to read. In 2 Corinthians
chapter five, in verse 21, And if you put that up, Ron,
there it is. Look what it says. For he has made him, that's Jesus,
to be sin for us. Who knew no sin. He didn't know
any sin, but God made him to become our sin. Look what it
says. That we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
See, he who knew no sin became our sin. He took our sin so that
we can have his righteousness. Isn't that amazing? What a transaction. Ephesians chapter four, Brian,
Ephesians chapter four in verse 24 says this, and that you put
on the new man. Who's the new man? Jesus Christ. You put him on which after God
is created in righteousness and true holiness. You see what happens
is, is I am unrighteous. I'm a sinner. I came to Christ
and I said, Jesus, save me. Save me, I'm lost. I'm in sin. I'm sick. He said, come to me,
Michael. He called upon me. Stand up for
a second. And he did this. He said, here's
my coat. Here's my righteousness. And
he put him on me. And now when God the Father sees
me, he sees Jesus. When God the Father sees me,
he sees Jesus, not the person who's really in there. He gave
me his righteousness. And when he did, give it back.
I don't know. No, no. Give me that back. I
need this. Amen. That's the problem. That's
the problem is people get this. They get the righteousness of
God, right? They get it. God says, you are
now my son. You are now my child. I call
you holy and accepted by God. And you are the child of God.
And people go, this is the best thing ever. This is great. But
then you know what they do after a while? And they just leave
it behind thinking it's no big deal. That's why I know I'm sick. And every day I need this coat.
Every day I need his righteousness. Every day I need his love. Every
day, every day, every day, every day. I need this, because only
in this do I feel Him. Only in this do I absorb Him. Only in this do I know Him. And
I love the feeling of Him, that I'm forgiven, I'm saved, I'm
saved. I'm going to heaven when I die.
All my sins are gone and he calls me his own. I can cry out, Abba,
Father, Father. And he says, yes, my son. Not
because of what's in here, but because of this. He gives it
to us freely. That's why he says, put on the
new man. Next verse, Brian. Isaiah 64, six says, but we are
all as an unclean thing. And all our righteousness is. Think about that. Everything
that we could do that's right. Everything that we could ever
do that's good. All of our righteousness are as filthy rags to God. And we all do fade as a leaf
and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away. See, there's
nothing you can do to make yourself good. Only he's good. There's nothing you can do to
make yourself righteous. Only He's righteous. That's why
I need Him. I need Him. I know I'm sick.
I know I'm perverted. I'm unclean. I'm unholy. I know that these sins are out
there and they're in this flesh and I hate them. And I come to
God every day and He covers me. He covers me. And it makes, you
know what happens? And I told Tammy this, my wife,
the other day. I forget where I was going, but I'm channeling
my inner Anton. And I went out and I bought some
vests, all right? And you'll see, I got three vests.
I went to Boscoff's and I got a bluish one, a blackish one,
and a tan one, a tan, kind of tan. And I went to, matter of
fact, where you at? Where's John? And we went to
dinner and I wore one. Didn't I look good? You never
complimented me though. I had a vest on, I felt good. And I
told her this, I said, you know what, when you dress up, you
feel better. When you're a little bit dressed up, you all of a
sudden act a little better. You don't go, yo, what's up,
man, when you got real nice clothes on. You know what I mean? You
don't say, hey, and you start cursing and all that. You don't
act filthy when you look good. It's just the truth. So I'm feeling
pretty good about myself. You know what I mean? I'm like,
I'm looking pretty good. I'm pretty spiffy. You know what I mean?
I felt good. And that's what happens when he gives me his
coat. I feel good. I feel like a Christian. I feel
like I'm a good person. I may not be, but He sure is.
And whenever you see me do anything at all that's a little bit good,
remember, it's the coat. It's not me. Because inside dwells
no good thing. But with the coat, with the coat,
the cloak, I got His righteousness, Tony. I want you to look with
me, if you would, please, to Philippians chapter 3 in verse
9. Book of Philippians is a great
book. All of them are great. But it says, 3 verse 9 says,
and this is what Apostle Paul wanted, ready? He wants to be
found in him, not having my own righteousness, amen, which is
of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ,
the righteousness which is of God. And he goes on to say, that
I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship
of his sufferings being made conformable to his death. Being
found in him, not having my own coat, but having his, having
his righteousness. How many people are righteous
in this room? None. How many people know who's righteous?
His name is Jesus Christ. He gives me, he gives me his
righteousness. I know I don't look it. I know
I don't sound it sometimes. And I know I don't act it sometimes,
but God calls me his own. Revelation chapter 19, verse
eight, It says this, we were going through in men's Bible
study, which I think is this Tuesday. We're going through
actually this chapter and it tells us something. It says in
verse eight, it says, and to her, talking about the church,
the children of God, it says, to her was granted that she should
be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white, for the fine linen
is the righteousness of the saints. The fine linen is the righteousness
of the saints. He gives you the coat of righteousness. And you know what? If you think
you're not sick, you don't need the coat. If you think you're
not a sinner and that you're okay, you don't need the coat.
And you're walking around in your own thinking that you are
something when really you're filthy rags. Last verse and we'll
finish with this. Look in Matthew. Everybody turn
to Matthew 22 with me. I want you to see this and we'll
finish. Matthew chapter 22. So the title of the message is,
Are You Sick? We know it, right? So am I, buddy. It puts us all together, doesn't
it? There's nobody higher than anyone else. There's nobody sicker
than anyone else. There's nobody a sinner more than anyone else.
That's why we can, Jesus could go and have dinner and feed and
be with sinners. Cause that's why he came to save
sinners. Matthew chapter 22, starting
in verse one. Are you there? It says this. And Jesus answered and spoke
unto them again a parable, and said, The kingdom of heaven is
like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son. And he sent forth his servants
to call them that were bidden to the wedding, means invited
to the wedding, and they would not come. Again, he sent forth
other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden. Behold,
I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and my fatlings are killed,
and all things are ready. Come unto the marriage. Look
what it says. They made light of it. I'm begging
you right now, don't make light of the invitation. Jesus is calling
sinners. Jesus is calling those that are
hurt, those that are sick, those that need help. Please don't
take it lightly that God would care that much about you, to
die for you, to suffer for you, to bleed for you and send his
son just for you. Look what it says. It says, and
they went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise.
And the remnant took his servants and entreated them spitefully
and slew them. But when the king heard thereof,
he was wroth. And he sent forth his armies
and destroyed those murderers and burned up their cities. Then
said he to his servants, the wedding is ready, but they which
were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways,
and as many as you shall find, bid to come to the marriage.
So those servants went out into the highways, and they gathered
together all, as many as they found, both bad and good. And the wedding was furnished
with guests. And when the king came to see
the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment."
See, what the wedding garment is, is that everyone that was
invited came, and they each got a coat. because they couldn't
be in their own righteousness. They had to have the righteousness
of God to be able to be worthy to come. And each one, come here,
you. I know this will fit you perfectly.
So here, put this on. They come into the wedding and
he's got his coat on, right? You don't have to wrinkle my
shirt up. And so he's got his coat on. So everyone's got the
same coat. Everyone's got it. And the king
comes in. He's all happy because he sees everybody. And what's
he looking at? Righteous. You're righteous. You're righteous.
And you're righteous. Because he's given you the coat
of righteousness. And all of a sudden he comes
in and there's one guy. Where is he? Larry, get over here. All right, I'll get this guy.
Come here, you. I don't want to pick on you because he's a really
good kid. He's good. Come here. And he comes in, he sees this
one guy. He's a tough one. He's a tough
cookie. He comes in, he goes, oh, look.
And he sees this one guy and he doesn't have the coat on.
And he says to him, if you read it, he says, friend, friend,
how did you get in here without the coat? He couldn't say nothing. He had nothing to say because
he came in with his own righteousness. He came in thinking, I'm worthy
to come in. I'm worthy to be in here. I belong in heaven.
I belong here. I'm a good person. And what the
king did, he got really angry. You can read it yourself. And
he got his servants and they bound him hand and foot. And
they got him and they picked him up and they threw him out. They threw him out, but they
threw him into hell. He went into hell. So there's
wailing and gnashing of teeth. And he says, this is the way
it's going to be. And so I'm just going to say, give me my
coat back. When I came to Jesus, I came
sick. I was a sinner. The worst thing you can be is
righteous in your own eyes. Because you know what sinners
do? Sinners know they're sinners.
I did this before years ago. I used to go out soul winning
and I'd go down, I went to Darby and I was in front of bars. And
back then it was crack, a lot of crack. Crackheads everywhere. And I remember going out there
and handing out gospel tracts. And every one of them, I'd say,
are you a sinner? And they'd all, I'm a sinner. I belong in
hell. It's a true story, true story.
And I came off. Then I went to St. George's Roman
Catholic Church, because I lived right there. And mass was out,
and they were all coming out. And I tried to give them gospel
tracts. And none of them would take them. And they'd all say,
I don't need that. I don't need that. I don't need that. And
they got mad at me, because I was trying to give them a gospel.
And that's exactly what was happening in here, is that the religious
people just said, I didn't come to call the righteous, but sinners.
And if you don't know the truth about yourself, then you're going
to try to get into heaven on your own. And he said, we read
the verse, all your righteousnesses, all your religion, all your things
that you think you do is like filthy rags to God. The only
way you're getting in is with the code, the code of righteousness. Me and Joe, we have a thing that
1991, he gave me the coat. I'm not taking it off. I'm keeping
the coat, right Joe? I'm keeping the coat, man. I'm
putting this coat on in the morning. Matter of fact, I'm sleeping
in it. I'm getting up and the great thing about it is, it's
new every morning. Because his mercies are new and
his love is new. And it's always fresh and clean.
And no matter how, I can't mess it up. And when I do mess it
up, the coat washes me. The coat cleansed me because
the coat is Jesus. and every day I put Him on, and
every day I thank Him, and every day I know I need Him. Sometimes,
sometimes though, sometimes, I go a little ways without the
coat, I left it behind, and all of a sudden I start feeling bad,
I start feeling miserable, and I feel dirty, and I'm like, what's
wrong with my life? And I'm here, God's saying, where'd
you leave me? And I run back to Him. I say,
Jesus, forgive me. I love You. And with the blood
of Jesus Christ, He washes me and cleanses me. And He calls
me His own. And He gives me His coat back. And I am not giving up the coat.
Are you sick? Are you a sinner? He's the physician. He's the Savior. He's the Son
of God. He is God incarnate flesh, Emmanuel. He is that He is. Every head
bowed and every eye closed and nobody looking around. This is
an invitation for the wedding. This is an invitation to be with
God forever. Please don't take light of it.
Please don't think you don't need it. Please accept the invitation
from God. Come to Him as you are a sinner
needing salvation. Come to Him as you are. Please
stand to your feet. Every head bowed, every eye closed.
This altar is open. Come and bow before the King
of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and give Him your heart. Give
Him your sin. Right now, you come to this altar,
and you can leave your sin behind. Come to this old-fashioned altar
and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be cleansed. Let the blood of the Lamb of
God cleanse you. the high priest that only can
go into heaven for us. And he's there now, and his spirit
is here now. The spirit of holiness and righteousness
and faith, of goodness and mercy and love. I'm sick. I need a physician. Jesus, heal
my broken heart. My heart's been broken. My heart's been crushed. Heal me, Jesus. Hold me, Jesus. I believe in you, Jesus. Call upon his name. Ask him to save you, and he will.
Say, Jesus, I believe. I know I'm a sinner. I know I'm
sick. I believe that you will heal
me. Heal me, Jesus. Save me, Jesus. Take my sin. Cover me in your
righteousness. Give me your cover. Exchange my sin for your love,
for your righteousness, for your faith. I have Jesus Christ now. I've never given him up. I'm
so thankful you, Jesus, that you would save a sinner like
me, that you would call me your own, that you would love me like
everyone else. You don't care what I've done. You only care if I acknowledge
what I've done and come to you and ask you to forgive me. Jesus,
forgive me. Save me. Wash me, cleanse me,
and give me the robe of righteousness. Give me the coat. And I'll hold
it, and I'll wear it, and I'll be so thankful for it. And I'll
tell everyone about it, that you love me, and my sins are
under the blood. I'll tell everyone, and I just
pray for everyone in this room, that they would receive the invitation.
How do they receive it? By receiving Jesus as your Savior. Are you sick? Call upon Jesus. Are you a sinner? Call upon Jesus. He's come to seek and to save
that which was lost. If you're sitting in your seat
right now, don't make excuses. Don't go your own way. Don't
leave this place. Call upon his name. Say, Lord
Jesus, save me, a sinner. I believe in you. In Jesus' name. Amen. It's that simple. You can come a sinner and leave
a saint. You can come filthy and leave clean in the eyes of
God. Amen.
