God's Judgment Confirms God's Promise

God's promise of comfort for Israel will be seen as He recompenses judgment for evil that fits the transgressions of the wicked. We see this here in Nahum 2:1-2 as God promises to empty Assyria as Assyria had emptied Israel.

This near prophecy would serve as an encouragement to Israel that God had not forgotten them. It also echoes many far prophecies any through its fulfilment, Israel could know that God would never forget them, and that He would crown them with the glory of His honor in the future. All who had blessed them would be blessed, and all who had cursed them would be cursed.
