I'm going to preach tonight. We're going to take a little break from the pictures and types of the Old Testament. And we're going to cover something that I don't think I've heard covered in here in a little bit. And I know there's lots of newer folks, and it's always good to give you the Bible again. In the book of Jeremiah, he said, it's not my word like as a hammer. Right? It's not you just hit it once and walk away. over and over and over. In Titus it says, I will that thou constantly affirm these things. Right? So it's always good. Always good. We're going to cover the Word of God. For those that don't know, we are King James only Bible-believing Christians. I believe that God knows English. I don't think that's difficult for God. I don't think that is beyond the knowledge or power or ability of God. I think he's got perfect knowledge of the English language. And I believe that God wanted to give us his word in perfection. Right, I mean, if God gave the word and it was perfect in the originals, but he never preserved his word, what's the point? Right, so we believe that God gave us a book in English that we can read and know to be true. And I figure we're gonna take a look at that, talk about some of that tonight. Let's start with Psalm 138. Let's go there, Psalm 100. and 38 and I really I normally never alliterate it just these things happen to Come to me as I was looking at this. We're uh, The word of god would be primary Psalm 138 and before we read there, let's pray Heavenly father. Thank you for this day god. Thank you for this time. Thank you for life and breath for allowing us to be here, God. We thank you most importantly that you sent your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to suffer and die in our place. We pray for our pastor, Brother James, our pastor, Brother David, God. Pray that you'd heal Brother James, give him good health and strength. Pray for Brother David as he's preaching in Montana, God. Pray that you'd use him, bless him, keep him. And God, thank you for all the many blessings you've given us. Pray that you'd help us here tonight. In Jesus' name, amen. Alright, Psalm 138. The Bible says, verse 1, "...I will praise thee with my whole heart, before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth. For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." Now, who believes the Bible tonight? I believe the Bible tonight according to Psalm 138, verse number 2. God says that He has magnified His Word above His own name. Now, you know, Christians, they're all over the place. They'll love to sing songs about praising the name of Jesus, and praising the name of God, and praise God for it. I do praise the name of Jesus Christ. But the Bible says, Psalm 138, what has been magnified above, what has been set above the very name of Jesus Christ. is the Word of God. Take a look with me. Keep Psalm 138. Philippians Chapter 2. Let's go there. Philippians Chapter 2. We don't believe in other versions. We don't believe they're right. We don't believe they're true. We don't believe they're accurate. Philippians Chapter 2. We believe that God gave us one book in English. We'll talk more about that a little later, but Philippians Chapter 2. The Bible says, verse number 5, let this mind be in you, looking at others, keeping in mind others' burdens and troubles, difficulties. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Who? Talking about Jesus Christ. Being in the form of God. Thought it not robbery to be equal with God. I'll pause right there for one moment. If you read the ESV, You know what that says? It says that he thought not equality with God something to be grasped. That's the opposite. That's not what this says. This says the opposite. The Bible says, who being in the form of God thought it not robbery. It's not wrong for Jesus Christ to claim equality with God. You say, well, when did he do that? Have you read the book of John? I mean, he said, I and my Father are one. That's what he said. He said, I and the Father are one. In John 5, they took up stones to stone him because they said, Thou makest thyself God. Here, it's not robbery. It's not wrong for Jesus Christ to claim equality, to be equal with God. It is not robbery to be equal to God, but made himself of no reputation. and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Thank God for it. It's through that cross we have salvation. It's through that cross we can know God. Through that cross we can come to be saved. The Bible says, verse number nine, Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name. Higher than every other name under heaven is the name of Jesus Christ. People all the time want to talk about Jehovah's Witnesses, right? Oh, his name's Jehovah. His name's Jehovah. His name's Jehovah. Oh, that's one of God's names in the Bible, yes. But God says, higher than any other name, higher than Buddha, higher than Muhammad, higher than Darwin, higher than anybody else you want to name, Joe Smith, all of them, is the name of Jesus Christ. higher than every other name. Bible says, What name is that? Jesus, not Jehoshua, not Yahweh, not any of that other crazy stuff people say out there. That at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. You know, Joseph Smith's going to bow his knees before Jesus Christ. The Bible says Satan's going to bow his knees before Jesus Christ. Muhammad, you say, which one? All of them. They're going to bow their knees before Jesus Christ. Every single human being, every being, every angel. Look at what it says. Let's go there. It says that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of things in heaven. All those angelic creatures, right? The four-faced, the six wings, regular angels, whatever you want to talk about, every one of them going to bow the knee, both knees before Jesus Christ. Look at this, of things in heaven and things in earth. Praise God, I bow before the Lord Jesus Christ. I bow both my knees and declare that Jesus Christ is Lord here on this earth. We do that. Praise the Lord for it. But the Bible says, look at this, and things under the earth. You know, people in hell bow their knees and profess with their tongue, their mouth, that Jesus Christ is Lord. now i would urge you do that here on earth before it's too late and you end up having to do it in hell right you do that here on earth you profess jesus christ ask him to save you then you get to do it in heaven praise the lord but the point is the point is above every name is jesus christ higher than that name is his word uh... let's let's get another one look at john chapter three John chapter number three. Many a Christian, many a professing Christian can quote John chapter three, verse 16. Now, people are getting away from this King James Bible, so they say all sorts of stuff. We might as well touch it, we're here. Verse 16, for God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Now, you know, I know the NIV says He gave His one and only Son. Now, you say, well, you know, it's just the message. The message is what's important. But I'm a son of God. If you're saved, you're a son of God. And if God gave His one and only Son, that means He's got no other sons. You have a contradiction. How do we know truth from error? Contradiction. If something contradicts something else. Two plus two, is it always four? Is it sometimes four? Does it change depending on your mood? It's always for, right? If God gave His one and only Son, if truth is truth, He ain't got no other sons. But the Bible says He gave His only begotten Son. Take a look at that sometime, talking about His exalted position. But the Bible says that, Whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned. But he that believeth not is condemned already, because the reason for man's condemnation. He hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. You don't believe on the name of the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, you're condemned. I didn't write that. I'm telling you what God said. There's no one else that can save your soul. You say, man, that's the greatest name. It's the greatest name in all the universe. It certainly is. The Bible says, For neither is there salvation in any other. For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Only the name of Jesus Christ can save your soul. There ain't nobody else that can do it. No other name in all the universe. God has exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Now we go back to Psalm 138. And as a King James Bible-believing Christian, You know, we read the Bible, we study the Bible, we memorize the Bible, and when things arise, we say, well, you know, the Bible says that you shouldn't do that, or the Bible says you shouldn't act that way, or say those things, or wear that. And people say, and I'm sure for those of you who've been around a while, you've heard this, they say, you worship the Bible. Right, all these modern Christian type, carnal Christians, you know, they're like, you got a verse for everything, you just worship the Bible. Your God is the Bible. Psalm 138 verse two. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness, and for thy truth, for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." If you don't have the Bible, how do you know anything about God? Now, try to have the right spirit, right attitude, because, you know, a lot of times people think you're a King James-only, Bible-believing Christian. You're, like, fire-breathing and really prideful and headstrong and all this stuff. Listen, I want to be firm on what God says because it's true. if i just go with what god says it's not me who's not wrong it's god who's right but i'm going with what god says i'm going to stake my life and stake my soul on what god says because if you don't have this book how do you know anything about god people all the time i was i was listening my daughter got has this hoopla thing listens to all these missionary stories and I'm not going to give you any names or anything, but this person they're giving you a story of is a woman and she's going to forsake her betrothed to be, husband to be, to go be a missionary in Africa. goes to be a missionary in Africa, gets basically in an argument with the man in charge of the mission house over there, and then runs off in Egypt to go start her own thing. Listen. And she would say, I believe in the God of the Bible. That's my God. That God is my... How do you know how to act? God says you need to learn to be in subjection. You need to learn to humble yourself. You need to learn to take the right position in life for anybody, for everybody, right? So people do all sorts of crazy stuff, and they say, God told me or God showed me, and they're just making it up. And they would say as straight-faced as they can, God told me to do this. If he said opposite, no we didn't. No we didn't. Let's get a couple places. Ephesians chapter four, let's go there. Ephesians chapter four, this is good Bible. This is good Bible, Ephesians chapter four. Let's start with verse number, 17 Ephesians chapter 4 verse 17 this I say therefore and testify in the Lord That ye so this is Paul writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. I believe that I hope everybody here believes that he says I say therefore and testify in the Lord that ye henceforth That would be from this moment forward Right that she henceforth walking not as other gentiles walk well how how is that beat out feed and notes just keep reading and bible says i say they weren't as final or that you henceforth walking not as other gentiles walk how do they walk in the vanity of their mind i was downtown to land couple weeks ago Talking to a guy, said, they got nothing to do out there. We're having a great time, by the way. If you want to come out, get out there about 10 o'clock and have a great time. This guy, he comes over. He says, I'll talk to you. He says, all right, what do you want to ask me? I said, if you die today, what do you think's going to happen to you? He says, well, my body's going to rot in the ground. I'm like, no, no, no. What's going to happen to your soul? Well, I guess that'd be up to Odin. Odin? And he said he was taught this from a young age, which I wouldn't doubt in this generation, but he would claim that this Odin has some type of power over his soul. It's a made-up God who's never done anything. They claim he's like a lead deity over there, but he has a father and he has a mother. It's not like he's like the first one. Right? Just another created being, if he is real, which, of course, I don't believe any of that nonsense. But, where do you come up with that stuff? Well, you know what Gentiles have done for millennia? They just make things up. They say, well, you know what, the sun, we notice that in a certain time of year, it starts to be lower in the sky and there's less daylight and so there must be this battle between good and evil and the sun is losing and we need to burn a yule log and then maybe after we do that, the sun, it'll come up again. Where'd you come up with that? You made it up? And people all the time will say and do things and put God's name on it, and they're just making it up. They're just making it up. It's total vanity, vain to be empty, to be meaningless, to have no substance. which would be in opposition to what not now looking at the time frame right this is paul writing to the it visions right he is talking to a bunch of gentiles who see whom easy one to the lord jesus christ says don't walk like other gentiles what's the only other type of people that's been on the earth for any length of time jews now you can always be saying be a jew no he's not saying be a jew if you ask a Germanic pagan, what do you think about stealing? they might have a little council and get everybody together and say, well, you know, we think as long as you steal something under such and such value, you're okay. You steal anything beyond that, we're gonna kill you. You go talk to some Arabs in the desert, they might say, we'll cut your hand off if you steal anything. You go, you go, you talk to people in America, they say, let's put them, house them and give them food and clothing for many years. If they steal a lot. Now, if they steal once, you only house them and feed them for a little while, but, you know, you... Right? Or, you go to Congress and you make the laws and... No. Anyway. You spend a lot of money to make $50,000 a year, and you come out worth billions of dollars. Something's not right there. Anyway, but no, what happens is you ask these Gentiles, what do you think about stealing? And they all have different ideas, and they all have different thoughts, and they all have different levels of punishment, and points at which they say it's wrong. But what happened if you asked a Jew? Doesn't matter what I think. God said, thou shalt not steal. Right? And it goes all through Gentile history. All they do is make stuff up. You got Gentiles who are okay with one sin, Gentiles who are okay with another sin, because they're just making stuff up all over the place. God gave his word to the Jews. It was never a matter of what you think or what you feel. It was a matter of what did God say. In fact, if you've been around a while, you look at any of the nonsense online or on the TV, what do they say? Well, what do you feel? How'd that make you feel? Well, what do you think? Oh, yeah. Well, this is how it made me feel. Oh, and when he did that, how did that make you feel? Oh, well, I felt. Isn't that what it is? All day long, it's what they feel. It's what they think. Look at what it says. Verse 17, walk not as other Gentiles walk in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened. So it was already dark, right? Because without God, the entrance of thy word bringeth light. But they're already dark, and they get a bunch of counsel together, and they just increase to that darkness. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated, separated, right, from the life of God, through what? the ignorance that is in them. And now listen, I'm not picking on people because that ignorance is in me. That darkness is in me. The light comes from here. Knowledge and wisdom comes from here. Bible says they're alienated from God, from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their heart. Oh man, isn't that it? Just follow your heart. Just trust in your heart. Believe in your heart. I believe with all my heart God's gonna give me a unicorn. Isn't that the nonsense you hear though? Come on. We gotta do this. Jeremiah 17, you gotta look at this. You got to see this. Because this isn't from me. Jeremiah chapter 17. You can keep Ephesians 4, we'll be back. Jeremiah 17, verse number nine. The heart, not only that person's heart or that other guy's heart, her heart, no, the heart, the human heart, every heart, the heart is, present tense, not sometimes, not used to be, is deceitful above all things. Way before there was Facebook. Way before there was TikTok and InstaTrash and all that stuff, the heart. People have been sinning against God since the garden. What happened? It's not the Internet, though the Internet's a cesspool of filth. It's not because of the television, though there's a lot of filth on the television. It is the human heart. It is deceitful above all things, more deceitful than Fox, more deceitful than CNN, more deceitful than any of that other stuff out there, and desperately wicked. Who can know it? So if my heart is deceitful and my heart is desperately wicked, is that what I need to be listening to? Is that what I need to be taking direction from? No. I need something better, something greater. The Word of God. Let's go back to Ephesians. Chapter 4, verse number 18, verse 19, how do you feel? How do you feel? How'd that make you feel? who, being past feeling, have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness." Now, what happens is, when anybody's confronted with the Word of God, they're going to say either one of two things. They're either just going to humble themselves and say, you know, God's right, and I'm a speck of dust. Who am I to argue with God? I'll just submit. Or they say, well, I just don't feel that God would be upset if I wear this. And I just don't feel that God would be upset if I say that. And I just don't feel like I should go to your church. And I just don't feel like that there's only one Bible and all this other stuff. It's all about what they feel. Now watch where that feeling leads them. Past feeling giving themselves over onto lasciviousness. to work all uncleanness with greediness. It's never I feel something different than what the Bible says so that I can be more righteous. Have you noticed that? It's always I feel that what the Bible says doesn't matter because I wanna sin. I just don't want you to call it sin. This is the Bible. Take a look. Take a look. Let's get 2 Corinthians 11. Let's go there. 2 Corinthians 11. You're in a Baptist church on a Thursday night. Praise God. I'm sure you've heard of Mormons. I'm sure you've heard of Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm sure you've heard of Seventh-day Adventists and Universalists, and the list goes on. How did they get there? Right? How did people get that messed up? Just give you a little bit. Mormons, right? The Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is Lucifer's brother. And because he won a spiritual battle, he got to be the savior. And his father, who is our, their God, is one of just many gods who used to be man, and he's on a nearby planet called Kolob. You say, Justin, that sounds insane. Look it up. I'm telling you, this is what they say. You say, where did they get any of that stuff? Walking in the vanity of their mind. Look at 2 Corinthians 11. Verse number one says, Woe to God, ye can bear with me a little in my folly. They talk about Jesus, you know. And indeed, bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For, if he that cometh preacheth another jesus people all the time uh... out on the street handing out tracks all i believe in jesus i believe in jesus i said which one how dare you there's only one jesus mormons have a jesus that's not my jesus my jesus is the creator of all things Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Jehovah's Witnesses have a Jesus. I believe he's the archangel, according to Jehovah's Witness literature. Vanity, made up stuff, right? Muslims have a Jesus, right? There's a lot about Jesus in the Quran, it's just, it's not what's in this Bible. They all have a Jesus, but it's just stuff they've made up. He says, but I fear less by any means as the serpent beguiled Evo. Verse four, for if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him. He was afraid that out of Christian charity and the desire to be kind and nice and gracious, that you would let somebody in and teach you about a fake Jesus. That's what he said. Why? How do you come up with a Jesus who's Lucifer's brother, whose dad used to be a guy who lives on planet Kolob? How'd you come up with that? Not from this. And so, what are we supposed to do? We're supposed to say, listen, sir, ma'am, that's not right. I'll show you what the Bible says. I just feel you're mean-spirited. Sorry. So the Word of God, it is primary. It is of utmost importance. I would tell you this. I hear people, they get into theological discussions. They'll ask me, are you a Calvinist? Are you an Armenian? I say, neither, you know. But they talk about all these things that aren't even found in scripture and they're trying to apply God's strength, power, wisdom in a situation in which it is nowhere near scripture. Unbiblical, right? It's just making stuff up. I would tell you, I would tell you, you cannot know God beyond what is written. You can only go by what's written. I can only go by what is written, which is why it is so important that we have a book. Let's see how important it is. Let's get Luke chapter 4, let's go there, and Deuteronomy chapter 8. Luke chapter 4, Deuteronomy chapter 8. See, because if I don't have a perfect word from God, I mean, first of all, how do I know any of it's any good? How would I know truth from error? How would I know right from wrong? How would I know falsehood from reality? Let's go Luke chapter four. Let's start there. Verse number one, the Bible says, And Jesus, being full of the Holy Ghost, returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing. And when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone, that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, I just feel. No, I'm sorry, that was way wrong. Jesus, God manifest in a body of flesh? Look at what he answered. It is written. It is written. Not what I felt, not what I thought, not what I imagined, not what I dreamed. It is written. it is written that man shall not live by bread alone." Well, you've got to have meats and veggies and fruit. No. But by every word of God. You know what you need to live? You know what I need to live? Every, how many? Every word of God. And you know, people with this modern movement, oh, well, I just, we don't need every word. We just need the message. Jesus said you're going to die. You can't live by bread alone. You need every word of God. He is quoting Deuteronomy chapter 8. Let's go there. Deuteronomy 8, verse 3, And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna which thou knewest not. Neither did thy fathers know that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. If you need every word of God, and you don't have every word of God, we're in trouble. Why would God even make a promise or a statement that you need every word of God if you weren't going to get every word of God? Doesn't that make no sense? But if God, who knows English, says you need every word, wouldn't He want to give you every word? Proverbs, chapter 30. Let's go there. Book of Proverbs, chapter 30. Verse number five, Proverbs chapter 30, verse number five, the Bible says, every word of God is pure. Is that what it said? Every word of God is pure. He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Now, I'll give you a little tidbit of information here. The King James Bible has no copyright. All these modern versions, ESV, NIV, RSV, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, they all have copyrights. Did you know if you were gonna have a book called the Bible that is copywritten, It must be at least, and I think it's 10%, I could be wrong on that, but there must be at least a certain percentage of difference from all those other books that call themselves the Bible that are copywritten. Now, wait a minute. First of all, what does a copyright do? I want to make some money. I copyright something so that I control the rights and I can make the money. God paves streets with gold. What does he need money for? Especially when the country's trillions of dollars in debt, right? But God, God said every word is pure. Now, if you got a Bible, and you got a Bible, and you got a Bible, and you got a Bible, and they all say something different, how can that be true? It can't be. Every word cannot be pure, which is what they admit. We just want the message. I just think as long as we get the general idea. God didn't say the general idea. God didn't say you need the message. He said every word of God is pure. Pure to be, if something is pure sugar, right? It is without admixture of something else. If this is God's pure word, it is without admixture of the words of men, and people all the time, you know, they say, well, you know, I believe God gave the originals, and you know, man, they just corrupt everything, and they just twist everything. Have you ever heard of the telephone game? You know what I'm talking about. Psalm 12, let's go there, Psalm 12. Just, man, you know, they mess everything up, you know, man is corrupted and man is sinful and you know, if he's gonna translate it, it's never gonna be what it should be. Psalm 12. Verse number six. The Bible says the words of the Lord are pure words. I believe that. I believe I've got pure words without admixture from anybody else. The Bible says, as silver tried in a furnace of earth purified seven times, thou shalt keep them, O Lord. Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for how long? forever. I didn't make that promise. God made that promise. God said that he would, he charged himself with the preservation of His Word. And we were just, my son does the Civil Air Patrol thing, we were down there talking to another guy, goes to another church in the area, Christian, saved guy, had testimony of salvation, just confused on the Bible issue. I just believe in the Greek and the Hebrew. You know, God gave them perfect in the originals. I said, oh, okay, you speak Greek and Hebrew? Well, no. How do you know anything that you have there in a Greek or Hebrew is even right? Well, I just trust the scholars. Nobody speaks Greek or Hebrew. And then I'm like, do you have it? I mean, so you could learn it, maybe. I don't think you could learn it as well as the 47 men that worked on this English translation. But say he could learn it. I said, do you have a copy? Well, no. So what do you even read? What would be the point of reading whatever it is you're reading that you say is the Bible? Vanity. Meaningless. Because it's not, how do you, you know, people, you know, they come across something they don't like in the Bible. They say, I just, I don't believe that's translated correctly. Who are you? Right? How well do you know these languages? You know the guy that wrote the introduction of King James? In his spare time, he wrote the Syrian Dictionary. That's like his hobby. You know, Sir Lancelot Andrews, one of the main translators, over 33 different languages, fluently, genius, with regards to language unparalleled by today. And they want to look at all this junk put together by modern scholars, and they don't even believe it. But when they come across something they don't like, they say, I don't believe that's translated correctly. again you don't even know greek or hebrew so white one make the statement but if you don't know that's translated correct if you don't know deuteronomy twenty two's translated correctly or you don't know that leviticus chapter ten is translated correctly you know john three sixteen is translated correctly how do you know anything in matthew mark luker john are translated correctly it's you either believe the book or you don't believe the book that's we gotta be consistent are we gotta move uh... God's Word's primary, God's Word's pure, God's Word is preserved. Look at Psalm 19 while we're in the neighborhood. Psalm 19, I love this. Let's go right into it. Verse 7, the Bible says, the law of the Lord is perfect. converting the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The law of the Lord is perfect." I love that. You know, when you talk to missionaries, Mormon missionaries, they all have a Book of Mormon. They all claim to believe the Book of Mormon. I say, you know, your book says it's not perfect. Oh, no it doesn't. Yeah, it sure does. Alma 32, check it out. It says, even as faith is imperfect, even so are my words. The law of the Lord is perfect. God said, God said, his word is perfect. That other guy, Joe Smith, said his words aren't perfect. I got a perfect God who gave a perfect Bible in the English language. Praise be to God. So this book is perfect. It has a purpose. It has a purpose. Before we leave Psalms, we've got to look at this. So if you are Christian and you're maybe teetering on the edge and you don't know what to think about something like this, listen, we love you. We do. God loves you. He wants you to know the truth. He wants you to live the truth. But you've got to have it. if you're gonna know it, and you're gonna love it, and you're gonna live it, right? You gotta have the truth. So, if you're in the book of Psalms, Psalm 118 is the middle of your Bible. It's the middle chapter in the Bible. And the middle verse in the Bible is verse number eight. It says, it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. I believe God can give me a book. I don't think that's unreasonable. And I think when you consider how important communication is to human existence, and God wants to communicate with us, I believe Him giving a book is of the utmost importance. And then we turn the very next chapter, Psalm 119. Just look at this with me. If you're teetering on the edge, you're not sure what to believe about all this. Just look. Let's see. Turn to the very end. You're turning pages, right? 176 verses. 176 verses. This is the longest chapter in all the Bible. Now, let's go back to verse 1. turn turn and pay it's it's a big chapter i think god's trying to give you a message someone nineteen blessed are the undefiled in the way who walk in the law of the lord look at uh... just skip down verse nine wherewithal shall a young man cleanses way by taking heed there to according to die word verse seventeen deal bountifully with ice urban that i may live and keep my Word. Verse 25, my soul cleaveth under the dust, quicken thou me according to thy word. Turn a page here. Verse 33, teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes, and I shall keep it unto the end. Verse 41, let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation according to thy word. You think God's trying to tell you something? Anything is important to God, it's His Word. The longest chapter, and we won't read all of it, the longest chapter in all the Bible, 176 verses, every one of them but two directly speak of the Word of God. You think He's trying to tell us something? I think so. I think I got the message. The message is God wants us to have His words because His words are perfect. His words are pure. His words are preserved. They have a purpose. Let's go to 1 Peter chapter 1. Let's go there. 1 Peter chapter number 1. You guys are going to beat me there. 1 Peter chapter 1. Check this out. 1 Peter chapter number 1. And I got a newer Bible, so the pages, you know, they don't flow as well as my other Bible. Alright, 1 Peter chapter 1, verse number 23, the Bible says, being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the word of God, which, look at this, liveth and abideth forever. Jesus Christ said, heaven and earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away. He says, you're gonna be born again, not by corruptible seed, but incorruptible. Well, what is it? The word of God. Look at this, verse 24, for all flesh is grass, and the glory of man as the flower of grass, the grass withereth and the flower thereof falleth away, but the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. This book's gonna be here forever. Heaven and earth will pass away. This book will still be here. There was a man, Voltaire, part of the French Revolution. He said, in a hundred years, the only place you'll find a Bible is in a museum. Now he's dead, and the book still stands. This book runs the world. I was telling my son just the other day about parts in the Bible. There is no overriding what the Bible says. Somebody may not like it, but what the Bible says is true and is going to happen. And in particular, I was talking about He that walketh with wise men, the Bible says, shall be wise. Right? I mean, this is what God said. If you spend your time with wise men, you will be wise. You will get wisdom spending your time with wise men. The Bible says, at the same time, says, but a companion of fools shall be not maybe, not it could happen, shall be destroyed. And I was telling my wife, I was thinking back years and years and years ago, I was a kid, sixth grade, and I had some bad friends, and they were doing bad stuff, and I did some bad stuff, and my conscience was pricking me, and I thought, man, this is, what am I even doing hanging out with these people? This is just bad. And I quit hanging out with him, praise God. But man, I don't know what's happened to him. Oh, I'll tell you this real quick. So I used to be involved in a bar with a friend and got rid of it, got into other stuff, and then got saved. Well, then I was talking to my friend, and he led him to the Lord. And I was like, hey, you ever talk to this guy from back in the bar? He goes, man, we've got to get people saved. No, he's dead. oh man, okay, well, hey, remember, remember, oh, what's his name, this guy, whatever happened to him, did you talk to him anymore? No, he's dead. Oh, what about, oh, that one guy who was, yeah, he's dead. A companion of fools shall be destroyed. That's what the Bible says. There's no way, there's no overriding it. This book runs the world. What it says is what will happen, whether that's reaping and sowing, or whether that's Jesus Christ sitting on a throne in Jerusalem, which He will do. Let's go 2 Timothy chapter 3. 2 Timothy chapter 3, quickly now. 2 Timothy chapter 3, verse number 16. Only the parts of Scripture that I like, are given by inspiration of god if you've got a bible you're like i mean right by the justin let's try this again all scripture how much of it All scripture, only some of it, all scripture, the parts that I like, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. God wants you to have these words, because not just to save your soul, right? 1 Peter 1, but that you might be perfect. Can you be perfect? It means complete, entire, without wanting. Job was man, perfect. And God wants you to be perfect. Jesus Christ said, be perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. What should we strive to be? Perfect. How would you do that? By what road map would you get there? Walking in the vanity of your mind or taking heed according to thy word? That's how we get there. There's a couple others here. Let's try and get these quickly. 2 Timothy 4, let's go to that one. It's got a purpose. One of them salvation, one of them perfection. It is for preaching. Verse number 2, preach the Word. Not the parts you like. Preach the Word, not what you feel. Preach the Word, not what you dreamed. Be instant, in season, out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts. I just feel the Lord leading me. so they themselves teachers having itching ears and they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned onto fables that's how you get into that nonsense but it's for preaching jesus christ said john chapter five verse thirty nine searching the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and there they which testify of me let's get uh... luke twenty four let's go there luke chapter twenty four luke chapter twenty four And let's go to verse number 25. Then he, this is the Lord Jesus Christ, then he said unto them, O fools and slow of heart to believe all, all that the prophets have spoken. all that the prophets have spoken, ought not Christ, who hath suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, and beginning at Moses, and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself." You know, people say this, I just believe we've got to follow the words in red. And you know, Jesus said, wait till they come up with red ink and then you can follow what I say. No, that's what he said. All the scripture, all the prophets, all the things that were written, they're written of Jesus Christ. that wasn't the gift if you miss it this whole book is about jesus christ from beginning to end jesus christ that he might save you jesus christ that he might perfect you let's see uh... what one one more cuz it's it's close and then we'll go to the last point uh... revelation chapter nineteen revelation nineteen the bible says Verse number nine, And he saith unto me, Write, blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. It's absolutely true. And I fell at his feet to worship him, and he said unto me, See thou do it not? I am a fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. This whole book, it's about Jesus Christ. All right, so, it is primary, it is pure, it is preserved, it is perfect, it has a purpose, it's for preaching, and there is a punishment. Revelation 22, Revelation chapter 22. The Bible says, verse number 16, I, Jesus, I just believe what Jesus said. All right. I, Jesus, have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David and the bright and morning star. NIV thinks that's Satan. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come, and let him that heareth say, Come, and let him that is a thirst come, and whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely. God offers this to everybody. Praise God. Well, the Bible says, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so come Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. You know all these modern versions? You can pick any one of them. Tell you, turn Acts 8, 37. Not there. Matthew 18, 11, not there. Man, you could just, look, parts of verses, Luke 9, 56. For the Son of Man has not come to destroy men's lives, but to save men's lives, and they went to another village. You go to any other modern version, it says, and they went to another village. You want a Bible with that kind of curse pronounced upon it? I wouldn't want that. Man, I'm telling you, if you have questions, come to us. We'd gladly talk to you about it. But I'm telling you, I believe that God gave us a book that is perfect in English. And you can understand it. You can read it. You can believe it. You can trust it. You can live by it. And God is just that good. Makes life so much easier. You do what it says, it's good. You don't do what it says, not so good. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for this time with your Word. God, thank you for your many blessings. Thank you, most importantly, you sent your Son to die in our place. But God, we are thankful tonight that you have given us this book. the Holy Bible in our language. God, that we can know it, we can understand it, we can know what it is you want of us and from us. God, in what you've done for us, we thank you so much in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
