yeah two months and two weeks and had a fifth mole beef All
right, that's great All right boogie board Dakota
Come on girls Smile! Hey! How are you? I'm all wet. This is Jim. Hi
guys. This is Tyler. Tyler. You have Jayton. All right. And Austin. Austin. All right. Take off your shirt. Take off your shirt? Why? Because
it's wet. Do you remember Jennifer Dakota? So you came over for today? That's
good. Dakota, you better go out there
and boogie. Well, the water's nice and cold. Yeah. Once you
get in, it warms up, though. Oh, yeah. You want your pictures in there?
Yeah. There's an old dog. All right, Jim. We'll see you later. OK. It was
good to see you. All right, we'll come by. We
were almost going to come by Friday, but something happened.
Oh, really? I was going to try to go by and see if I could see
Jim again. He came over to the house the other day. It was really
early on Friday. They were in a private lot. Oh, they were? Linda just had her hair done. Well they came out and stayed
about a half a day the other day. I know. He was telling you
all about it. He was really excited about it too. He just kept going
on. Jimmy had this and Jimmy did this and
Jimmy did this. He sounded really, really excited.
Well we got a bunch of grapes and
stuff you know and plums and different things out there. So
they had a good time, and his wife really enjoyed visiting
with Marilyn, I think. Yeah, that's what she was saying.
Yeah. Anyway, good to see you. I couldn't miss that smile. I
don't care what you, not wearing your sister stuff. I'll show
my mother this video, and she won't believe it. Oh, yeah. Say,
hey, look who I saw before. Hi. All right. I'll see you later. All right. Come on. I'm going
to get you. Let's go. I'm going to get you. Well, we got to get you, too.
We're going to get everybody. Is this her baby? This is my
little brother. Oh, that's her little brother.
All right. And there's Michelle. Michelle. I'll see you later. Well, it's good to see you all
over here. Bye-bye now. Bye. I gotta move this thing up just
a little bit. There she is. There they are. Let's see. Dakota out in the
boogie boarding. Alright, let's see here now. We're right in the way. Let's see him move over again.
There he is. And there is Barry Lynn right there. There's Lynn
McConaughey out there. Let's see what I can do here. Catch her away. Oh, she tried
to catch one. Here comes a big one. Catch it
Dakota. Come on Dakota catch it. I don't think there's more than
a little block, right? There she is. There she came. Alright, well thank you. That's it, Dakota. There you
go, girl. That's it. There's a good one. More ordinary leaves. The photo
must be lying in the way here. Very weird. Come on Dakota, catch it. That's
a good one. Wait, we're baking butter over
there. There's your third one coming
in. Where did she go? There's Mary
Ann. Where did she go? The waves are breaking better
over there than there. You can't see it from there. Come on Dakota, where are you?
There you are. I'm a girl. There you are. It doesn't bite a man. Huh? You
get so far and she won't bite. Well, it puts push in you. It puts push in you. You got to get it where it's
pushing you. This is right time. Well, I guess
he's got a driver, doesn't he? Huh? That guy's got a driver. Yeah. But they're not pushing right. They're not pushing right. Yes,
he is. Right out here, it's breaking
harder. Right there, they're coming in
better than over here. The surfers are here. Now here
she comes, I don't want. She's moving pretty good this
time. But she stops and then she gets
up. Well, maybe it quits pushing.
You have to learn what it is. It's not exactly what it looks
like. Yeah. I went out as far as I
could. You what? I went out as far as
I could. Yeah, you did pretty good. I
got pictures of you out there. Oh, there she is. There she's
coming in, see. Kids keep getting in front of me. Of course, it
comes in this way and goes across the stream. She needs to be out here just
a little further this way. You want to stand here and kind
of guide the camera, and I'll go out there and tell her. Can
you see her there? See her? Now you have to very
slowly move it, because I got kind of zoomed in. Just follow
her a little bit, OK? I'll go out there. Tell her. She needs to be over this way.
But the sun's going to hit right in the center. Don't worry about
that. It's got a sun filter. That's her, that's her. There she's riding, there she's
riding. She needs to get on her and then
paddle like this. Yeah. Well, I'm going to tell
you something. If you're a little heavy out
here, you've got to deal with it. You float easier on that
water if you're heavy than if you're skinny. Your skin keeps
sinking. Somebody like you, then you float.
You couldn't sink either. I'd probably sink. Let me go
out there and tell them where the waves are breaking. Now,
just keep your eyeball over you. You've got to keep this around,
see? Yeah, actually. Okay? Okay. It was hard to find her. Right
there. Just look down here just like
that and put the camera lens on. See that? I can't see her.
Yeah, she's right there. What did you say to her? I told her that the waves are
breaking better down this way. That's what the surface said
too. I thought that surface was coming
in. I'm going to watch the camera
now. I'm going to call her home, Cody. She's right out there, baby. Way out there? Uh-huh, yeah. Right over there. There she is. Hello Don, this is Jim. Anyway,
I'm down here on the beach. I was just calling you to see
what you were doing. I'll call you on the other phone. Anyway, this is M7IU. I'll talk
to you later. Watchin' Dakota out here boogie
boardin'. Bye-bye. Hello, this is Jim. I'm looking
for Don. Anyway, I'll talk to you later.
This is Jim, N7IU. Bye-bye. Three boogie boarders
right together. There she is. That's pretty high. There she is. She's coming around
a little bit. There's a big wave coming after
her. Where are you Marion? There you are. There he lands! Now she's in
there someplace. Right there. There she is. We found our first clam. Right there it is. Well, let's see here. It's more
like it's right there. Yep. Mom's being violent again.
She is. She's threatening to stab my foot with a pitchfork.
Oh no. All right. Let's get a picture of mama there. She's looking
for clams. Dakota's digging for a clam.
Clam getter. Can you see clams on that? All right, girl. Here we are. We're going to shut the camera
off. Say bye. Okay, let me take a picture of
it. And then dig a hole and rebury
it. Okay, we got two clams. That one's bigger than the one
I had. No, this one is worse. I told you this one was fine. Okay, I thought I got the...
I thought I got the little one. Hold the two of them like this. Between your
fingers. Away from your face. You don't want to leave them out of water too long. If you put
them in front of a body you can see them better on the turquoise than
in the gray. Okay. This is at Don's house where
he sits on BP. There's some beer out here. This is his pickup and swimming
pool there. And his shop. And his bathroom. That's his kitty cat. There she
is right over there. It's a good clone that I have
here. You can clone right away like that. This is the baby that took her
life. Give them the camera. Give them the camera. Now they'll slip out of here. They'll slip out of here. They'll
slip out and leave him alone. They'll slip out and leave him
alone. Don's front yard here. His radio
room there. The front yard. Here we are at Don's house. His
front porch here. That's a deer over there standing.
She's looking down off the balustrade. for a motorhomeless camp. See that deer kind of dropping off
over there. The babies fall on her. There's three of them. Oh, you're up! How about lookin'
at your deer? Oh, I can get him on there now. I watched some of that picture
of you this morning here too, wait a minute. You didn't see any
buck in there, did you? I didn't see, I think there was
a buck over there. Yeah, I didn't see one. But he was, he was hiding
out. Yeah. There he are. Alright. One of these days. That's Snowball. Huh? That's Snowball. Snowflake. That's what my grandson named
Snowball. Snowball. Yeah. I said, well
that's good enough. He named that A male cat, Sammy,
and he was supposed to have it fixed but it hasn't happened
yet. He had it fixed, I mean, had it all lined up with the
vent and he said, I need the money and he canceled it. Oh,
yeah. That's your grandson? Yeah, when
he comes here sitting in that chair, Sammy just crawls all
over him, you know. That little old cat's really
hungry. I gotta go check and see if my
animals, I got a guy out there, he's uh, he's not much for... When they move, I'll take my picture.
Okay. Because I want to get the background. Yeah. Oh, who that is? His name was James Byron Dean. He was an actor. He died just
before sundown in 1965 when his horse collided with another car
at the fork and rode about 900 yards east of this tree, long
known as the tree of heaven. He was 24 years old. Aside from appearing in several
Broadway plays, he starred in three motion pictures, East of
Eden, Puzzle Without a Cause, and Giant. Only Eden had been
released before his death. Yet before he was in his grave,
James Dean was already a legend. Every day, somewhere in the world,
in the cinema, on television, James Dean lives on. Cinema is
no longer just fellow loyals. Every day we find reminders that
Drama is the same thing as the pain that we live. He was a youth
yearning for one precious touch of warmth between parents and
their offspring. He was an individual struggling. In this huge land of intimate
promise and many graces, he was a rebel searching for that cause
we must all possess, this young man seemingly ordinary, yet possessing
a talent individually that were to be. In their abomination has
come to personify a generation of awakened Many are those who feel strongly
that James Dean should not have been forgotten. There are some
things, like the hatred that accompanies war, that have been
forgotten. Others, like the nobler qualities
of man to which this young actor directed our attention, that
should be preserved for all time, James Dean is all the more with
us today. Because his life was so fleeting
in Japan, we say that his death came as suddenly as it does through
cherry blossoms. The petals of early spring always
fall at the height of their bloom. Seems real brilliant. September 30th, 1977. A small token, this monument
stands as a small token of my appreciation for the people of
America from whom I have learned so much. It celebrates a people
who have over the years courageously followed the path of truth and
justice while expanding the limits of mankind with their boundaries
and pioneering spirit. It also stands for James Dean
and the other American rebels who taught us the importance
of having cause to all those who helped his stranger from
Japan realize his dream of erecting this monument. I express my heartfelt
thanks. The Hearst family, which graciously
made it land available for this monument built by Aston, Mrs. Sanford Roth, James Dean's closest, best friends who shared their
memories with me and the people of this community who warmly
extended their kindness and cooperation and naturally to all James Dean
fans who have carried his torch throughout the years. Thank you.
July the 4th, 1983. Santa Ash-Nishi. Mary Lynn. Dakota. Alright, here is the
monument. Well, this is it. This is the Jack Rats
buffet right here. Right there. Where I've stopped
many, many times over the years on the way to the coast. Right
here. Why? Somebody pried the E off of his
knee. Oh, they sure did, didn't they?
They stole the E off of it. All right. A little thing here. This is
a beautiful monument. I don't know who this was. What is essential is invisible
to the eye. This quotation from St. Henry's The Little Prince
was probably James Dean's favorite. It seemed to hold a deep and
private significance for him and he used
it often, especially with those he loved. What is essential is
invisible to the eye.
