Why Jesus must be lifted up

Jesus came to take our place, He spoke here prophetically of the death He came for, He came to die the death we deserved. This was a predetermined plan for man's salvation, though it was a very painful plan that God put into motion. Scripture shows that He is the propitiation or substitute for our sins. This is good news that needs to be shared and in so doing we will be lifting up Jesus.
