Solomon chapter number 2. Thankful I've got the upper hand tonight. Old Psalm by Sound Doctrine. That's a good song. Song of Solomon chapter number 2. And we'll start in verse number 8. Song of Solomon 2, verse number 8. It says, The voice of my beloved, behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills, My beloved is like a roe, a young heart. Behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shooing himself through the lattice. My beloved spake and said unto me, rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away, for lo, the winter is past, the rain is gone over and gone, the flowers appear on the earth, the time of the singing of birds has come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tinder grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. Oh, my dove that art in the clefts of the rock and the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance. Let me hear thy voice, for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. Take us, the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes. My beloved is mine and I am his. He feedeth among the lilies until the daybreak and the shadows flee away. Turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young heart upon the mountains of Bethar. Song of Solomon, one of my favorite books in all of the Bible. Find here in Song of Solomon chapter number 2, by way of context, you look and start in verse number 1, you move down to about verse number 7, you find the Lord in the text. You find Solomon likens himself in number 1 as the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valleys. If you ever look at a picture or look up the meaning of the land of Sharon or where he said he was the rose of Sharon and where that land is at, it means fertile land. It's a land of prosperousness and of fruit. It's a land full of roses and full of flowers. It's got water. It's near the Mediterranean Sea. It's very fruitful where it's at. It's got trees everywhere, very green. It's very fruitful if you ever look at it. It's a very beautiful place. There's flowers scattered all throughout the land of Sharon. But I like how Solomon doesn't say he is a flower, he says he's the rose of Sharon. And just like here in this world, Paul said there's many, Lord's many, and God's many, but I'm glad there's only one Lord, there's only one God, and His name is Jesus Christ. There were many roses, there were many lilies there in that field, but there was only one true rose, there was only one true lily, and that was Solomon. That picture is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We find the Lord in the text. But then we find the love of the woman and of his wife. You skip down through the verses and she starts talking about who he is and where he brought me from and how good he is and who he is to me. She starts talking about her love that she has for her master. Verse number 7, look what she says at the end of the verse. She says, that you stir not up at the end of verse 7 nor awake my love till he please. She is publicly announcing that Solomon, the king of Israel, is her beloved and is her love. That pictures us Christians how we ought to profess that Jesus Christ is our love and our beloved. Paul said in Romans chapter 1 verse number 16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believeth to the Jew first and also to the Greek. But I found that Christians, they now get it backwards. Instead of professing that they are a Christian in the public's eye, instead they like to cower down and hide behind the cross, instead of getting out and being a light for the Lord Jesus Christ. But it confuses me because they didn't mind being called a drunkard when they were lost. They didn't mind being called a drug addict when they were out in the world. They didn't mind being called a partier when they were out in the world. But when it comes to Jesus and the cross, they don't like to be called a Christian. Let's get some Christians with a backbone like a saw log, as my daddy used to tell me. And let's stand up and have some love for our Savior in the public's eye. We find the Lord in the text. We find the love. But here's our third point by way of introduction. We find the leaving and the looking. I find the leaving and the looking. Here in the text, her beloved Solomon has come looking for her. Why? Because somehow she's got away from him. Chapter number one already explains how she was in her land and she was taking care of the vineyards where she was living at. Chapter one explains how she's already met him. If you look at it from a child of God standpoint, she's already saved. She's already born again, and chapter one explains that. But we get to chapter two, verse number eight through verse 17, we find she's gotten away from her beloved. But that's not the end of the story in the text. Even though she has gotten away from her beloved, her beloved never forgot about her. And her beloved didn't kick her to the curve and say, I'm not gonna go get her. I'm not gonna think about her. But in the text, he takes off going after his beloved and after his one true love, and he goes looking for her. I'd like to preach on for just a couple of minutes. He come and got me. He come and got me tonight. Number one, He come and got me. We'll find that as He came to get her, she was separated but got salvation. She was separated but got salvation. It's said in the text that she was upon the mountains of Bethlehem, verse number 17. The word Bethlehem means separation, divided, or division. If you ever look up the meaning or the context of Bethar, you'll find it's a place of mountains and of hills in the text. You don't find too much on the land of Bethar. You don't find too much of what they say about it or anything of such nature. Basically, it's just a land that's good for nothing. And somehow or another, she's gotten away from her beloved and has gone into the land of Bethar, and she's now become separated from her Savior. There's now division between her and her Deliverer. We'll find she's gotten away from him, but he comes looking for her anyways. You know that was me and you when we were lost and in our sin, undone, without God. Bible said in Ephesians 2 verse number 13, And ye who were sometimes afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. I remember as a 13-year-old boy on November 23rd, on a Wednesday night, on Ben Roy McClendon Road, I was in a little office room, and I was reading the King James Bible. And I'd gotten away from the Lord, and this picture's a sinner as well. And I was separated from my God, and there was division between me and my Lord. But God came looking for me anyhow, and I got salvation in the midst of my separation. But we keep on going and, you know, my mind just thinking the way I think. I started thinking about maybe when he found her, because we know he finds her. Maybe when he found her and when she found him, she told him, she'd say, Solomon, my love, my beloved, my master, my lord. She'd say, there's no one that's like you. She'd say, there's nobody that's quite like you, Solomon. Nobody in the land of Bethar ever spoke to me like you spoke to me. Nobody in the land of Bethar ever took care of me like you took care of me. You don't find in the text that anybody protected her. You don't find in the text that anybody was helping her or providing for her. But she's all alone. And she's by herself in the land of Bethar. But he comes looking for her and she looks up and she says, Solomon, I've never known anybody like you. Solomon, can I just say that picture's you and me. And when we got saved and we got born again, we put away the alcohol, we put away the drugs, we put away the dirty pictures, put away the dirty music. We started to say, Lord, there's nobody quite like you. You know nobody gives joy like Jesus does tonight. Nobody gives peace like Jesus does tonight. It said He gives joy unspeakable and full of glory. It said that He gives the peace that passeth all understanding tonight. Nobody gives grace like Jesus. Nobody gives happiness like Jesus. Nobody gives a song in the night like Jesus. Nobody gives a shout like Jesus. Nobody gets the praise like Jesus. Nobody gets the honor more than Jesus. Nobody gives help more than Jesus. Nobody's quite like Him. His love reaches farther out than outer space, and His grace reaches deeper than the deepest part of the ocean. His mercy is stronger than any mountain, and His voice is louder than thunder. His counseling is ever true, and His judgment is ever righteous. He's higher than the highest, and He's greater than the great. He's smarter than any scientist. He cares more than any hospital. His light of salvation is brighter than the sun, and His hand reaches farther down than you can reach up. His mighty acts are faithful, and His blessings are innumerable. His word is right, and His blood is still flowing. The beer never did for you what Jesus could do. The drugs never did for you what Jesus could do. The partying never did for you what Jesus could do. Ain't nobody like Jesus. If Paul could testify, he'd say the murdering, it wasn't enough, because nobody's like Jesus. If Peter could testify, he'd say the fishing wasn't enough, because nobody's like Jesus. They could testify in the Old Testament and say nobody's like Jesus. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know. every longing in my heart, and it keeps me singing as I go. I don't know much, but I know one thing. Ain't nobody like Jesus tonight. When I need a need, Jesus fulfills it. When I need a song, Jesus gives me a song. When I need praise, Jesus lets me praise him. When I need help, Jesus lifts me up. Nobody's like Jesus tonight. Fine, she was separated, but she got salvation. And she starts to wonder and look back and say, ain't nobody like you. I testify the same thing, nobody is like Jesus. Tonight, not only do we see she was separated, but got salvation. Number two, we find she was separated, but got spoken to sweetly. She got separated, but was spoken to sweetly. Look in Song of Solomon, back in our text, chapter number two, and look at him speak to his beloved. Song of Solomon chapter 2 verse number 10, it says, For lo, the winter is past. The rain has gone over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of the singing of birds has come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. Oh, my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance. Let me hear thy voice, for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. It's said there in that verse that she was under the rocks there, and she was staying there where she was in them little rocks all alone by herself in the land of Bethar. And as she's sitting there, and she's in desolation, she's discouraged, she's depressed and destitute, and she feels all alone. But in the midst of that, in the nick of time, here comes Solomon. And he starts speaking with that sweet voice. And can I say, there's no voice like Jesus' voice. How many times have we been separated, but then we started hearing the sweet, almighty, touching voice of Jesus Christ and pick us up, dust us off, and lead us as we keep going? Is it alright if I brag on Jesus' voice for just a minute like I was doing earlier? Is it alright if I just brag on Jesus and His voice for just a second? Can I say that His voice is unbeatable? His voice is unchanging, and His voice is unlimited, and His voice is undefeated. His voice is undisputed, and His voice is unending. His voice is unforgettable, and His voice is unhindered, and His voice is unique. It's unstoppable. It's uplifting. It's an ultimate voice. It's an unbelievable voice. It's an indescribable voice. It's an undebatable voice. It's a never conquering voice. It's an unreal voice. It's a calm voice tonight. It's a caring voice. It's a capable voice. It's a seekless voice. It's a calling voice. It's a conquering voice. It's a confident voice. And it's a commanding voice. Ain't nothing like the voice of Jesus tonight. Could speak the earth and the world and everything into existence. Just like that. He can say, peace be still in the Gospels when the disciples were on the sea and they were toiling and rowing. He can say, peace be still to the winds and the seas, and they must obey. He can look at a dead man who's in a tomb in John chapter number 4, and he can say, Lazarus, come forth, and the dead must arise. We find that she was separated, but she got a sweet voice. She was separated, but she got salvation. This is what I really wanted to get to. She was separated, but got the Savior's sunrise. She was separated, but got the Savior's sunrise. Look in verse number 15, take us the foxes, little foxes that spoil the vines. For our vines have tender grapes, my beloved is mine, I am his, he feedeth among the lilies. Here it is, until the daybreak, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young heart upon the mountains of Bethar." You look at this text and you start expositing the scriptures here in verse number 17 in Song of Solomon chapter 2. She's talking about it at the break of day. She's talking about, come Solomon, in the morning. Saying, Solomon, come and get me bright and early when the sun is just starting to shine. And the verse said in the book of Psalms, chapter number 13, verse number 5, Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Just like this woman has sent Jesus, can I tell you he's coming in the morning? Jesus, one of these days, he's gonna step out on a puffy white cloud, and the trumpet's gonna blow, and as he told John, he's gonna say like in John chapter four, come up hither, and the dead in Christ shall rise first, and we which are alive and remain shall be called up together to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. It's good to know that one day when Jesus shows up, and when we get to our home in glory, that the pain will flee away, And the tears will flee away. Death will flee away. Sin will flee away. Anger will flee away. Heartache will flee away. Sorrow will flee away. Sadness will flee away. Discouragement will flee away. Depression will flee away. Everything and above that will flee away because He's coming in the morning tonight. the Savior sunrise. She says, you know, come in the morning. But then I found that she says, be thou like a young heart or a young roe upon the mountains of Bethlehem. You know what that is? That's a deer. Them deer, they're quick. They're fast. They come quickly. And just like that, Revelation chapter number 22, Jesus said, Behold, I come quickly. John said, Even so, Lord, come. It's good to know that He's coming quickly. He's not going to delay, but when Jesus is ready, He's coming in the blink of an eye, at the last trump. We're going to see Him for who He is one of these days. Won't have to dwell on this earth no more. Won't have to stay here anymore. But we're going home one of these days. And it's coming quickly. And it's coming in the morning. We find she was separated, but she got salvation. We find she was separated, but she got a sweet voice. We find she was separated, but she got the Savior's sunrise. And I believe our prayer should just be like this woman that has John in chapter number 22. Him coming quickly, we should ask Him to come. We should bid Him to come. We should say, Lord, come get us. We've gotten our eyes on this world. We've gotten our eyes on what's going on down here. Instead of getting our eyes on treasures unseen, getting our eyes on the Lord who is in heaven. The Bible said, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith tonight. As Christians, we shouldn't get our eyes on this world. I know the president's seen everything that went down, you know, last month and stuff of that nature. You know, that's a great thing. I'm so thankful Trump's in the office and stuff like that. But we shouldn't let that be the priority of our life. Don't get your eyes on that. There's more than that. That's not even a glimmer of what's left in heaven. That's nothing compared to that. What we should do is the children of God. And as a child of God, I've been going about 20 minutes here, and as a child of God, You ought to get your eyes on Jesus. Every morning when you wake up or every night before you go to bed, jump in God's Word, Miss Esther, come to the piano if you will. You ought to be going to service every Sunday if you can. Ought to be coming to service on Thursday night if you can, if work don't get in the way. Ought to be serving the Lord and bidding Him to come. Singin' his songs, listenin' to the right music, and keepin' your eyes on that world instead of this world. Because one day he's gonna come, and don't let him catch you off guard tonight. Let's all stand, we're at about 20 minutes. Let's all stand. Lord, I love you. Thank you for the opportunity to preach. Thank you for being good and for loving us. Lord, I sure do appreciate it. Lord, I sure do pray you'd help us tonight. Lord, I sure do pray for the song that you're laying on their heart. Lord, I pray it'd be a blessing. Lord, I sure do thank you for being good. Sure do love you. I pray the message helps someone. Lord, in Jesus Christ's name I pray. Amen.
