And I didn't even try, I couldn't even get to it. The Lord completely shut it up in my mind, shut my mouth, and you know the rest of the story. In Matthew chapter nine, what we're gonna look at at the beginning is another proof in your Bible that Jesus Christ is Jehovah God. Your Bible literally says this. We're gonna put two things together doctrinally that prove that. Okay, and now we've done this a couple other places before. We've done it there in 1 John 5, and we've looked at other things dealing with the Lord of hosts out of the New Testament, wherein Isaiah is quoted as seeing Jesus in his glory, and it's where, you know, when Isaiah saw him in his glory. where John records that and then you go into Isaiah chapter 6 and you see him referred to as the Lord of hosts there. It's Jehovah God. And so there's a couple of places, but here we have one more place where we're gonna tie two places together. And then from there, Lord willing, if he'll allow us, we're gonna look at the heart tonight. Okay, so these are the things that we're gonna look at. And just some conversation we had this afternoon, some of the things that Brother Dale brought up early this morning, some other things that others have said, shows me that this is a message for tonight, and that this is dealing with the heart. Okay? And so we're going to look at this tonight. But before I begin preaching, Brother Terry Miller, would you please ask the Lord to bless this time? Amen. Thanksgiving magnifies the Lord. Jesus said, if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. What I'm gonna do right now is attempt to lift up Jesus Christ. I understand he was speaking there, and the Bible says, this spake he of his death. But we're gonna attempt to lift him up tonight. and raise him a little higher. The name Jehovah is so holy. The name of Jah, J-A-H. It's only recorded one time in the Bible. And it's so holy. The name of Jesus is so holy. And I'm gonna attempt, as I said, to show that they are one in the same. that Jesus Christ is Jehovah God. Matthew chapter nine, look at verse one. And he entered into a ship and passed over and came into his own city. And behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins be forgiven thee. And behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, this man blasphemeth. And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? We're not gonna continue on in Matthew here. This is where we're gonna stop. They reasoned in their hearts. They said to themselves, this man blasphemeth. There was no audible voice made, but Jesus addresses them directly, knowing their thoughts. And he says, why think ye evil in your hearts? Now, let's put a couple of things together here doctrinally. Reading the word of God doctrinally, we're looking at what the words actually tell us, okay? Look at this. The scribes said within themselves, and Jesus knowing their thoughts. Okay, so first off, where do your thoughts take place? They are in your heart. It's within, okay? He let the cat out of the bag. But you go a little further, and he says, wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? These come from the thoughts of the hearts of the scribes. So, doctrinally, Jesus Christ knew their thoughts of their heart. He knew the thoughts of their heart. I think that's pretty clear to see. Is that clear? I can go over that again if anybody needs it. I want that to be understood. Jesus Christ knows the thoughts of the hearts of mankind. Jesus does. With this knowledge, let's go to 1 Kings 8. 1 Kings 8. In 1 Kings 8, Solomon is about to dedicate the temple and he's praying. The glory of the Lord had already filled the temple. And as I was going over this, oh, I was fighting the urge in myself to preach through the whole thing. But there's something in particular that God wants us to see out of this. What we have established in the New Testament is a rule that Jesus Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, can read and think and understand and see the thoughts of the hearts of men. 1 Kings 8, start at verse 37. Now, you know what? Let's back up to 22 because I want you to see who Solomon is directly addressing here. 1 Kings 8.22, and Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel and spread forth his hands toward heaven. And he said, Lord God of Israel, that is Jehovah God that he is addressing. That's who he is speaking to. That's who he is opening in his heart and his mouth, and out of the abundance of his heart, his mouth is speaking these words unto Jehovah God. Now, go over to verse 37. He says, if there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar, if their enemy besieged them in the land of their cities, whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be, what prayer and supplication so ever may be made by any man or by all thy people, Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house, Then hear thou in heaven now pause there. Who is he addressing? No, no, who is Solomon addressing personally right now God he is speaking to Jehovah God He says then hear thou. That's who the vow is. He's speaking to God Jehovah the Lord then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways whose heart thou knowest. For thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men. You see it? The rule that we established in Matthew chapter nine is that Jesus Christ knew the thoughts of the hearts of men. Solomon says here that only the Lord God knoweth the hearts of men. Jesus is Jehovah God. By the way, you can find this truth in a New World translation that belonged to the Jehovah's Witness. Their Bible, so-called, tells them that Jesus is God, that Jesus is Jehovah God. Amen and amen. Now we could end there. We're gonna look at the heart. We've just raised up Jesus. He is Jehovah God. And the terrifying part comes into play, that he knoweth your heart. He knows your heart. He knows the thoughts that went through your heart this morning. He knows your thoughts that went through your heart this afternoon. He knows the thoughts that went through your heart this evening as you were preparing to come in. He knows the thoughts of every single heart that is walking and beating and being carried in a mother's womb. He knows the thoughts of the hearts of mankind. He hears them loud and clear. Jesus, Jehovah God. Let's go to John chapter two. Thank you, Jesus. Just in case you needed any further proof of this, as if one time in the word of God is not enough. Let's look at this. John chapter two, verse 23. Now, when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name when they saw the miracles which he did. I find that interesting that they needed miracles. But it says, Jesus did not commit himself unto them because he knew all men. And need it not that any should testify of man, why? We get a colon there. We're about to find out why. For he knew what was in man. Do you understand this is at Jerusalem at the Passover? Do you understand this is the same Jerusalem that Jesus is scourged in? You realize these are the same Jews that will, in a couple of short years, cry out, crucify him. Well, they believed in his name because of the miracles that he did. What does he say a little bit later on? He rebukes that crowd that followed him. He says, first you showed up just because you were given bread. Then you showed up just because you just wanted a miracle. Why do you come to Jesus? Is it to get fed? Is it to see some miracle, some sign, some wonder? Or is it because he's Jehovah God? And he said, if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. Why do you come to him? Why'd you come in here tonight, braving the elements? I came here because I, in my heart, I hoped we might get a glimpse of Him. I came in here this morning, absentmindedly. I walked into this pulpit unprepared. I came in here tonight in the fear of the Lord, hoping that we get to see God. He knew not that any man should testify, or that any should testify of man, for he knew what was in man. He knew what their belief actually equaled out to, little more than what the devils believe, and they tremble before him. Thou believest, thou doest well. The devils believe also in tremble. And again, I ask, when was the last time you trembled before Jesus Christ, Jehovah God? simply at the manifestation of His name in the Word of God. When was the last time your voice started cracking and shaking and tremoring and trembling just because you were about to articulate the most beautiful name that has ever been given among men? Jesus. Holy, holy, holy. Before we continue on, I had a thought occur to me this week. And at first it was a, it was hard and it hurt, but then there was a great comfort and a balm to me. We do not deserve to have God come and meet with us and revive us. That was the first thought. We do not deserve for God to have him come and meet with us and revive us. There is nothing in our service, there's nothing in who we are, there's nothing in what we've done that would make it as though God had any reason at all to come and meet with us and revive us, to pour his spirit out upon us, to stir our hearts. But then the comfort came in that those that don't deserve revival are the ones that get revived. Because if you don't, if you do deserve it, if you are walking with the Lord, if you are nigh unto him, if you are walking hand in hand and you're following in his yoke and you are laboring with him and you are so nigh unto him that there is nothing between you and the Savior, guess what? You don't need revived. And so God only revives those who don't deserve it. And so therefore we say, come Lord Jesus. Come Jehovah God. We need a reviving. Time in. Jeremiah chapter 17. Oh, go to Jeremiah 17. We're gonna look at the heart a little bit. We've already proven that Jesus Christ knows the thoughts of the heart. We've proven with the scriptures unequivocally that Jesus Christ is Jehovah God. He is the true God. In Jeremiah chapter 17, look at verse nine. This is your heart. This isn't your neighbor's heart. This isn't your husband's heart, your wife's heart, your father's heart, your mother's heart, your children's heart. This is your heart. God is addressing thee personally. The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it? Oh, and again, just like what we saw in Psalm 24, if this was but just a rhetorical question, if this was only rhetorical, But the hopelessness of the situation is you can't know your heart. It deceives you, you deceive your heart. It's a mutually deceptive relationship you've got with your heart. The problem with a deceiver is that he doesn't lie all the time. He does enough truth to make you think he's telling you the truth. Honestly, if someone were to tell you Every hundredth thing that I'm gonna speak to you is going to be a lie. Do you think you'd be able to keep track of that? What happens if you're off by one? That's your heart. Can't trust it. Oh, but God knows the heart. Look at this. I, the Lord, search the heart. I, the Lord, search the heart. I try the reins. You know what the reins are? It's those things that drive a horse. Put the bit in the mouth, got the leather straps that hook up to it. That's how you steer that thing where it's gonna go. Same word, spelled the same exact way, means the same exact thing. God searches the heart and he puts on trial the things that drive and direct you. because you can't tell which way you're going. Look at this. Even to give every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings. Go to verse 23. But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but they made their neck stiff that they might not hear nor receive instruction. You know why? They believed the lies of their heart. Imaginations of their heart rose up. You can read all through that, you'll see that. Go to chapter 18, look at verse one. The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord saying, arise and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels, and the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter, so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, can I do better with you as this potter, or do with you as this potter, saith the Lord? Behold, as the clay is in a potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom to pluck up and to pull down and to destroy it. If that nation against whom I have pronounced turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. Well, that ought to make you shout hallelujah. And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom to build and to plant it. If it do evil in my sight, that it not obey my voice, then I will repent of the good wherewith I said I would benefit them. And in that we say, hallelujah. You know why? Because we are at a point in our lives where we are literally seeing the Word of God being played out in the public square, in the courthouse, in the White House. This is the Word of God living today, the promises of God. God just showed you a sign and a wonder. Do you believe Him? Verse 11, now therefore go to speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem saying, thus saith the Lord, behold, I frame evil against you and devise a device against you. Return ye now everyone from his evil way and make your ways and your doings good. And they said, there is no hope. They didn't believe the word of God. You know why? They believed the thoughts of their own hearts. over what God had told them. There's no hope. But we will walk after our own devices, and we will, every one, do the imagination of his evil heart. They even acknowledged before God that their heart is evil. You know why? He just told them that it was. He shows them so many signs, so many wonders. The Jews require a sign, Greeks seek after wisdom. How often do we say, God, I'll believe you if. God, I know that person would get saved if. Oh, if only that person would get right with God, then that person over there would see the work that God is doing and they would believe. That the Word of God is true. But never one time in history has that proven to be true. So what did God give us? His Word. And I'm gonna turn over here, and I'm gonna turn this fan on. It has nothing to do with the message tonight, but it's hot up here. And in that brief amount of time, you could have died. Believe God yet? Let's go to 1 Samuel. Let's go to 1 Samuel 16. Oh, he's giving me great liberty tonight. I bless his holy name. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the things that you do. Lord, we don't deserve it, and I know for a fact that's why you're doing it. 1 Samuel 16, look at verse 7. The Lord said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord seeth not as man seeth, for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. Who is it that looketh on the heart? The Lord. Who is that? That's capital L-O-R-D, all capitalized. Who is that? Jehovah God. Matthew chapter nine proved that Jesus knows the thoughts of the hearts of men. that Jesus is Jehovah God. And so I would not be doing any disservice whatsoever to the scripture to say it this way. For the Lord Jesus seeth not as man seeth. For man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord Jesus looketh on the heart. They're one and the same. Doctrinally, that's sound. Now, the thing of it is, I can take this Bible, I can rightly divide the word of truth with the law of God. I can lay these things all out before you. And you, in the wicked imagination of your heart, can reason it away as to why it would be a reasonable thing to doubt the word of God. Thanks be to God, we've done a little, the Lord has done some sifting here. in our form of speech. For we no longer say, a better word for this word would be. Or, in the original Greek, it also means. Or in the original Hebrew, it also means. Because all that's doing is stirring a little bit of doubt. A little bit of doubt. Is that the right word or not? Is that the proper interpretation of that Hebrew or Greek word or not? Ah, and then the evil imagination of our heart rises up, and we think to ourselves, this might be one of those places where it isn't quite right. And I hear a hissing. And he comes and he says, yea hath God said. You know, God deals in absolutes, always has, always will. It's part of his character. You know what you can expect from God. We reason that away in our hearts, but you know what you can expect from God. And he will always speak to you in an absolute confidence. He will either prove it to you that he's right, or he'll prove it to you that you're wrong. That's how he works. Where's your heart tonight? Is the Lord searching it? Is he trying the reins? It's proved to you three or four times just now that he searches the heart, he looketh upon the heart, that Jesus is there looking upon your heart, that he knows it, that it's wicked, that it's evil. He says what he'll do to a nation that refuses God. He says exactly what he'll do to a nation that turns to God. Are you like those Israelites that rise up and say there's no hope? Doubting the word of God? He had just told them there was, but they followed the evil imagination of their heart. Now go to John chapter three, as the Lord has transitioned into this topic of unbelief. John chapter three, as far as I know, we're only gonna look at one verse here. Very familiar passage. Normally we deal with 14 on. It seems like that's where God takes me when we come into John chapter three. We know he's speaking to Nicodemus here. He's addressing him personally. Nicodemus came to him by night. He says this, if I have told you earthly things and you believe not, how shall you believe if I tell you of heavenly things? How shall you believe? if I tell you heavenly things. Now, I want you to make this connection in your mind. Jesus had just told him, look at that, in verse 11, verily, verily, I say unto you, thee, we speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen. Now, who's the we there? Is it Jesus and the disciples? No. It's Jesus and the prophets. But he tells them about that spiritual birth that must take place, and he tells them about the wind blowing where it listeth, and that's wherever it wills, wherever it desires to go, that's where the wind is gonna go. You can't see where it came from, you can't tell where it's going. And he says, so is everyone that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered in verse nine and said unto him, how can these things be? And he calls him out on his unbelief. Listen, if I told you earthly things and you didn't believe me, how are you gonna be able to believe the heavenly things? Unbelief begets unbelief. And therein we have the contrawise of faith to faith. How? How shall you believe if I tell you heavenly things? Now, he's spoken to Nicodemus there, but that's in the plurality, you, ye. So that includes you. If God has spoken earthly things and you don't believe those earthly things, how are you gonna believe the heavenly things that he tries to reveal to you? It's impossible. Further proof of this is just a little bit. Go to John chapter four, look at verse 48. The beginning of John has a grand theme throughout. Look at verse 48, John chapter four. Then said Jesus unto him, except ye see signs and wonders ye will not believe. And here again, calling us out in our hearts. I just need a little bit of proof. I just need you to prove yourself one time, then I'll believe you, God. Again, as if God has shown up for an interview. He's applied for the position of God of your heart. He's before the board of elections. The hiring crew is there before him, your heart, your mind, your spirit. And he stands there, takes his hat off before you and says, sir, madam, I'm here to apply for the position of your God. If you would have me, I could do all sorts of great things for you. All you need to do is accept me. All you need to do is ask me into your heart. but rather God is God. And you stand condemned before a holy God. Will not the judge of all the earth do right? The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein. If you got saved by God coming to you for an interview and appealing to your desire to have a God and everything he could do for you, you have another Jesus. What did he promise you? Has he given it to you yet? What does the God of the Bible promise when righteousness comes? I heard it. Peace, quietness, assurance forever. Do you have it? Love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, faith, temperance. Is it yours? Or did you receive the God of this world? who showed up for your interview. John chapter five. In John chapter five, going along with these same lines, Jesus continues his conversation with the Jews. He says this in verse 39. He says, search the scriptures. For in them ye think ye have eternal life, and they are they which testify of me. They are they which testify of me. The Scriptures testify of Jesus Christ. Your Bible tells you that. What Scriptures? Had the book of John been written yet? Had the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, Romans? Oh, good gracious, how did people get saved before the book of Romans was written? God, and his word. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation. Search the scriptures, for in them you think that you have eternal life, and there they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me that you might have life. I receive not honor from men, but I know you. that ye have not the love of God in you. Again, he's searching the heart. Again, he knows man on the inward parts. He tries the reins, and he knows that you have not the love of God in you. Why? You don't have the fruit of the spirit. You don't have the spirit of God in you. And you're condemned before a holy God. Now here's the thing with this type of preaching. God will take that and he'll do two things with it. He'll take these words out of his book and he'll take that spotlight and he'll shine it in every corner of your heart. Those that have the light will come to that light. Those that do not have the light We'll try to hide from it. What was your first reaction? Now we have three cats in the house. We have one cat that is just crazy. We have another cat that is very friendly, but kind of standoffish. And then we have another cat, our youngest, Clyde. And when he sees you come, he'll come to you. There have been times where I've walked through the house late at night after everyone's in bed and I'm checking the doors, I'm making sure the water's not running, the toilets aren't running, you know, the doors are locked and windows are locked, all of that, lights are off. I go through the house and I might turn a light on. There have been times where I've turned that light on and a cat has ran. But never Clyde. You know what Clyde does? As soon as I walk into the room, he runs up to me. He sees me, he's very happy to see me. He knows, hey, this is a good person. Even though Grammy tells him all the time, Pappy's a bad man. Don't go to Pappy. Love Grammy instead. We don't have grandkids yet, so we got grand cats. Like it or love it, that's what it is. But it's the same thing when God shines his word on your heart and that light turns on. I'll read what Jesus said about it. This is the condemnation that light has come into the world and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light. Neither cometh to the light, lest his deed should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. And with this type of searching, preaching that goes on, and God directs those words from his book into your heart, they are doing one of those two things. They are causing you to come to the light, or they are causing you to try to hide from the light. What he tells you to do is he says, come unto me. Kicks down that door, and he says, come unto me. Shines that spotlight in the corner of your heart where you're hiding that secret life, and he says, come unto me. That's killing you, come unto me. That's blaspheming my holy name, come unto me. All you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. You find rest for your souls back in John 5 42. But I know you that you have not the love of God in you. I'm coming my father's name and you receive me not. If another man or if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive. Why don't we see that all across America today? Trump came in his own name. How many look to Trump to be the savior of our country? Careful, Americans. I believe Brother Morris said it last week that God just may use President Trump to punish us. Look to Jesus, not to man. How did the songwriter put it? The arm of flesh will fail you if you dare not trust your own. But look at verse 44. How can ye believe which receive honor one of another and seek not the honor that cometh from God only? How can you believe? You cannot believe if you're seeking to receive honor from men. You can't. Now, what honor would that be? My family thinks I'm saved. Oh, well, I'm looking to listen to hear pastors say something that would make me think that maybe I am actually saved, even though I always am under condemnation under the preaching. Just a little bit of hope there that I might maybe be saved, but it just, ah. You can't believe God if you're looking for that sign and that wonder. Your pride will send you to hell. I know better. Do you ever think that this man could be wrong, but that this book is never wrong? I've been wrong so many times, I can't even count them. What if you're wrong? God is right. and the summer is gone, the harvest has passed, and you're not saved. How can you believe what you receive honor one of another and seek not the honor that cometh from God only? I got a couple more places I wanna go. Look at Matthew chapter six. Receiving honor one from another, hinders belief, pride blinds the heart to the truth of the plague of our own hearts. Matthew chapter six, look at verse one. How can you believe which receive honor one from another? Take he that you do not your alms before men to be seen of them, otherwise you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do, in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth, that thine alms may be in secret, and thy father, which seeth in secret himself, shall reward thee openly. How can you believe which receive honor one of another? Do you like giving your alms in public? Look at verse 33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, first, before anything else, above anything else, The preeminence must be the kingdom of God. Now, go to Luke chapter 18, and then I'm gonna wrap up with just a few verses, and I'm just gonna read them to you. But Luke chapter 18, starting in verse nine. Luke 18 in verse nine. And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others. Uh-oh. Trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others. One of the first indications that you are a self-righteous person, you're trusting in yourself that you are righteous, the first indication of that is that you despise others. What's the first work that God does in you, love? Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus. With who? Himself. God, I thank thee that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in a week. I give tithes of all that I possess. He's got an eye problem, doesn't he? I do believe it'd probably be good if he gouged that eye out. The publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven. but smote upon his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, a sinner." He wouldn't even so much as lift his eyes up to heaven. Smote upon his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, a sinner. Again, who showed up to your job interview as your Savior. What else was there? Who else was there? Usually when somebody interviews for a job, there'll be four or five candidates, okay? When I went for my interview with Shell, there were three other men that had interviewed for the same exact position. I was not there at the same time that they were there, but who else showed up? Did your riches show up? I think they can save you. Did your hard work show up? How about your diligence or your own righteousness? That whitewashed sepulcher. Maybe your own intelligence or your own reasoning showed up as well. And here God is, sitting in the corner, waiting his turn patiently. Oh, I hope I get the job, he says. I can really help this one. Oh, I sure can. Boy, if they'd only accept me. Now, you may not realize it, but I just preached Romans Road Salvation to you. Are you a sinner? Do you need a savior? Well, consider Christ. You know, Christ died for you. He did it all for you. Just accept him. Let me appeal to your emotions a little bit. Just ask Jesus to save you. That's all you need to do. Only believism has sent countless millions to hell. Words of Duncan Campbell back in 1960. The only reason I mention that is because the way I preach isn't preached everywhere. And some people just need signs and wonders, proof. Let alone the proof that the sinner's prayer is nowhere in the Bible. Nowhere do you see Jesus leading anybody to that, either nowhere do you see Paul doing that, or Peter doing that, or James doing that, or John doing that, or John the Baptist doing that. You don't see anybody, anybody at all, but the Baptists. Jesus says, I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Jesus said, if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. You lift yourself up. Look at all that I've done, Lord. Look how diligently I'm seeking you, Lord. Look at everything that I'm doing for you, Lord. Surely you must consider this good enough. Condemned, under the law, lost. Oh, but Jesus is there as the King. Jesus is there as that one who was made sin for us. that knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. We could have that righteousness, but furthermore, that we could be made that righteousness. Now, our hearts deceive us into thinking that if we could just have proof, those signs and wonders, that we would believe. You know, the Bible proves that's wrong. I'm going to read that to you just real quick. That rich man in hell, verse 28, for I have five brethren that he may, I have five brethren, you know, send Lazarus to his father's house. I have five brethren that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, they have Moses and the prophets. Let them hear them. He said, nay, Father Abraham, but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. He said unto him, if they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Guess what? One rose from the dead and they still don't believe. So what's the answer? Well, he gave us this book. Gave us this book. The record of his son. To prove it to us. This is the proof. This is the evidence. This is the faith of Christ. This is the testimony of Jesus. This is the spirit of Christ in the prophets for telling of the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow. This is it. We heard his voice in Psalm 18 this morning. We heard it in Psalm 69. We heard him spoken of in Psalm 24. Now I just wanna read a couple of verses. In fact, I've got this paper here. You can check them afterwards. They're all from the King James Bible. You take this, you lay it right next to your Bible, and you look at every single one of these. But I want you to close your Bibles right now. And I want you to have a conversation with God. Lost, saved. I want you to have this conversation with God. God, help thou mine unbelief. And this is his reply. Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end. But establish the just, for the righteous God trieth the hearts and the reins. And now Solomon, my son, know thou the God of thy father and serve him with a perfect heart, with a willing mind. For the Lord searcheth all hearts and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee. But if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever. Search me, O God, know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. See if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. For the word of God is quick, powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight, but all things are naked and open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Amen. And amen. Now, what did he show you? What did he tell you? According to his loving kindness and his mercy, he met with us this morning. According to his loving kindness and his mercy and his desire to see his name lifted high, he met with us tonight. But did he meet with thee? What he's showing you, you in your heart. Why can't you believe? What are you waiting for? Which sign, which proof, which wonder? How many more people do you need to see miraculously born again before you'll believe that God actually saves souls? He may be waiting for you to believe him. Why don't you turn that off, Russell?
