Get someone to bring you a Bible. Fifth chapter, the book of Romans. Starting with verse 12 through 21, the Lord put this particular book on my heart. In times like these, we'd like to reiterate as we always do, great commission, don't sell CDs. If somebody come to you trying to sell you a CD from Great Commission, they are not of this ministry. Freely the Lord has blessed us and freely we give back. This is the Lord's program and he will supply the needs for his program. Fifth chapter of Romans, you have it say Amen. Start with verse 12. And it reads, Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. For until the law, sin was in the world, but sin was not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned, after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offense, so also is the free gift. For if through the offense of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, has abound unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift. For the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification. For by one man's offense, death reigned by one. Much more, they which received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ. Therefore, as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation. Even so, by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover, the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abound, grace did much more abound. That as in sin has reign unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Let us pray. My Lord and my Savior, my hope of glory, Lord, it's in you that we live and move and have our beings. I thank you for being the almighty God. Lord, you're a sovereign God. And I realize nothing happened unless you allowed. I thank you for your son, Jesus, who died on Calvary Cross, that we all may have a right to the tree of life. But I thank you because he didn't stay dead, but he rose with all power. And Lord, I thank you because when he left and he rose again, Lord, he didn't leave us comfortless. But he sent the Holy Spirit, Lord, to teach us and all things. Lord, right now, I pray that I may decrease and your Holy Spirit increase. Lord, let your anointing flow in this place. Lord, touch the hearts of your people. Open up the ears that they may be receptive of your word. Lord, speak, Lord. Lord, we come now asking for a forgiveness of sin. Lord, as your words say, all have sinned and come short of thy glory. But Lord, we thank you for your forgiving God. Lord, your long-suffering. and merciful. Yes, Lord. And by your grace, we say thank you. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. And we're going to speak from these words, title this message is Penalty and Remedy for Sin. Penalty and Remedy. The penalty. And the remedy. And the remedy. For sin. For sin. See, because there is a penalty behind sin. You know, we do things sometime and we don't think about the consequences. When you're living a sinful life, you don't think about consequences, you just do it. Your sinful nature just have you to do it at will, not thinking about the consequences that's gonna come. You know, and studying this particular chapter and just thinking in general of where we're at today in life, in people, you know. And it's horrifying, you know, when you see things happen in the world and in your families, coworkers, wherever. You know, and I'm reminded of a situation I saw on the news a couple weeks back. And some of you, I'm pretty sure, saw it. But it was horrifying. It showed a couple, well, three people, upstate New York, when this snowstorm, blizzards came through. A man and his wife was shoveling snow. And they throw snow on the neighbor's yard. And the neighbor came out, and they had a conflict. arguing and fussing and cussing at each other and threatening. And the neighbor that they was throwing the snow onto his yard, he went back in the house and got a gun. And he came back out and the wife was standing there and she dared him to pull the trigger on her husband. And before they knew it, He had pulled the trigger four times. And I think the second, third, fourth time or however many it was, it shot the husband. He laying down, hollering, she hollering. He walked over and shot her too. He went back in the house and he got a rifle. And he came back out. They were still alive, both of them. And he walked back over to them and shot both of them again. and killed him dead. And then he went back into his house and he killed himself. Sin. Sin will lead you to do these types of things. Sin will have you to open your mouth when you need to shut up. Come on down, Melvin, take your time now. When situations erupt, Lord God, help us, Lord, help us, Lord. If a man got a gun drawed on me, Melvin, I'm not gonna be trying to punk him down. I'm gonna be praying within my spirit. You know what I'm saying? Brother, call on Jesus. Cause that's who I'm calling. I know you got the gun, but I'm calling on Jesus. And if it's my time, it's my time. But I'm telling you about a man I know named Jesus, that can save anybody's soul. No matter what situations you in. The penalty of sin and the remedy of sin. That's a penalty. Oh yeah, that's a penalty. And in this particular chapter, Paul, he gives the illustration about Adam and Jesus Christ. Adam, the first Adam, and Jesus he relate to as the second Adam in this particular chapter. It's amazing, like I said, with sin. See, in the law, in the world, in today's law, in the court, you're innocent until proven guilty. That's right. That's right. That's right. Yeah, you're innocent going in. Amen. No matter what you may have done, you're innocent until the juries in the court convict you of being guilty. That's right. That's right. Of being guilty. Amen. Amen. Oh, yeah. Let's go back to the beginning here in Genesis, the second chapter. Genesis, the second chapter. Are you pleading no innocent case today in the law's court? Are you pleading your case? Are you innocent? Second chapter of Genesis. I'm going to answer that for you. We all guilty. We all guilty. Don't even think about it. Don't have a second thought. We all guilty. We guilty by association. You know, mom and them used to say that a lot of times. You know, when you hang with your homeboys, Herbert, as we used to call them, or your kinfolk, You guilted by association. Because it make me think about, you know, I love Kelvin because Kelvin tells me all the time and I hear him say, read your own mail. And I've learned that from Kelvin. I remember when I was in high school, you know, I'm going to move on, I'm going to move on. I was in high school and me and my cousin and the other friend, we're going to shoot a hooky one day. Yeah, Ms. Patton, we gonna ride across town and check out the chicks at the other school. Yeah. Jumped in the car with Buddy Howard, me and my cuz. He pulled up to the service station, fill the car up. Fill it up. I didn't have no money. Cuz didn't have no money. Before we know it, he jumped back in the car and pull off. with the nozzle in the thing. Sin has consequences, y'all. And what I'm getting at, we rode on over to North Birmingham, Collegeville. We heading to Collegeville to check out the Northside chicks. Yeah. And as we was approaching, getting pretty close to the school, Yeah, for Breein time now, y'all. Breein gonna make that clear. That was for her time. I gotta fix that up real quick now. But this car rolled up beside us, and the guy looked over in the car, Herbert, and he held up a gun. And he looked over, front and the back, and he said, no, they ain't the ones. But sin has its consequences and its penalty. Now see, they could have pulled up and just went to shooting, not took a look. But by the grace of God, the Lord was keeping us even then, while we was yet in sin. And it's something how the Lord will give you warnings. He'll give you signs. And you know, after that then, like I said, we call ourselves, we going to head back because we done got shook. I done got shaky, Melvin. Two incidents. And so we on the interstate coming back home, coming around by the civic center. And all of a sudden, the hood on the car just popped up. Couldn't see a thing. I wasn't a praying young boy then, but I went to praying. The Lord was letting me know it was time to get out of this vehicle. It's time to make some changes in your life. Sin has its penalties, y'all. Genesis, the second chapter. Looking at verse 16 and 17 here, you have it say amen. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat. Every tree. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it. For in that day thou shalt eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. Surely die. That's a command from God. He said of every tree, any tree in the garden you can eat. For food, for whatever. But one tree, just one, don't touch that tree. Don't eat from that tree. Because in that day, you will surely die. Surely die. It's a promise. It's a promise. You see, sin was in the world by Satan and his angels that disobeyed God. But it wasn't in man. It wasn't in Adam at the time. But when the enemy, Satan himself, tempted and deceived Eve, Yeah, let me show you for yourself. Don't say what I see. You see it for yourself. In chapter three, chapter three down, just go on down, chapter three, verse one. It said, now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field, which the Lord God has made. And he said unto the woman, yea, has God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? People will give you part truth and not all the truth. See, it's cunning, it's deceiving when you hear a partial truth, but not all the truth. That's like when they asked you to say, you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? OK. Verse two, and the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ye shall not eat of it. Neither shall ye touch it, lest you die. She heard, didn't she? And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die. For God do know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods. Put a little G there. Knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eye, and a treat to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat. He did eat. He did eat. Now it's amazing, like I said, how subtle the enemy is. And even today, in today's time, the enemy is subtle. And people are being deceived. They're being deceived with partial truth. Partial truth. Not the whole truth. That's why you have to read and study and pray and meditate on the word of God for yourself. For yourself. You see, in this situation when Eve took the fruit and ate it, gave it to Adam and ate it, death came. Sin and death. Sin and death. And when I say we're all guilty, because we are all from the lawns of Adam, the seed of Adam. Association. Yeah, physical death, spiritual death, and eternal death. Oh, yeah. When Adam ate the fruit, Adam voted for sin. It's like similarities like your legislator, ma'am. You vote for legislator. Senate, Congressman, they're your representative. And when they choose or when they vote on something, they represent you. Think about it. Think about it. Presidents, when you vote for them, they represent you. They vote for sin, you vote for sin. Now, I don't want to get off on politics now, but that's just a scenario, in a sense, what happened to Adam. When Adam ate, sin and death came, and I inherited. Wasn't even born yet, but I inherit that sin nature from Adam. And you say, well, I ain't no king yet, you are. Go to Acts 17 chapter. Acts 17 chapter. Yeah, Acts, the 17th chapter. No, you say, I ain't no king. You may not be. You may be of your father the devil. Acts 17 and verse 26. Book of Acts 17 chapter and verse 26. You have it, say amen. and has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth and has determined the time before appointed and the bounds of their habitation. One blood. Not black blood, white blood, yellow blood. One blood. One blood. That's what we're hooked up at. That sin nature that we receive. Our little granddaughter here, she's just as innocent looking as she want to be. But that same nature is in her. And as she grows, When Bree and Brandon want to stop her from grabbing stuff off the table, she's going to tie it up, and they want to pop that hand, and she look at them like, what you doing? That's their sin nature. Even that young, even though she hadn't sinned personally, she hadn't committed her personal sins, but the sin nature is there. And so we wonder why people act like they act. Why they carry on like they carry on. We as believers and ones that study and know the word of God know what it is. It's sin. Sin in this world. Sin testified when Cain slayed Abel. Sin testified when Joseph's brother throwed him in the pit. Envy and jealousy. Sin testified with Sodom and Gomorrah. Of the homosexual and the sodomites was going on in that particular time. And going on today more than ever. Not only that, but fornication and adultery and every other kind of sin. My Bible tells me all of it is sin. Immoral. Immoral. Immoral. Yes, Lord. Glory to God. Amen. Sin is sin, y'all. That's right. Amen. Ezekiel. Go to Ezekiel, 18th chapter. Book of Ezekiel, 18th chapter. Mama them used to say, every tub got to sit on his own bottom. Every tub. Don't care how big or little it is. Ezekiel 18th chapter. Looking at verse four. Ezekiel 18th chapter, verse four. When you have it, say amen. Behold, all souls are mine. And the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. It shall die. Verse 20, same chapter, just going down to verse 20. It said, the soul that sinneth, it shall die. He repeating that, y'all. The son shall not bear the iniquities of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquities of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. You responsible. When you become to get to the age of accountability, you responsible. Jalen now, Jalen know what's right and what's wrong. He may not read the Bible as well as some other people, but he know right from wrong. Lincoln and Cannon back there, they know right from wrong. If they don't, I'm pretty sure Nod and Tasha gonna put it on them and let them know. Ethan here, Ethan know? Early training. Right training. To let them know what to expect. Tania, she's getting at that age, she looked up like, what you call me for? Yeah. Because they're under this teaching. They're under the word of God. They've been taught the word of God. It's in you. That seed is planted. It's going to take root. And especially when you become and be held accountable, it's going to take root. Oh yeah, it's going to take root. Romans, the first chapter. Let's flip over, Romans, the first chapter. The penalty of sin. Penalty of sin. Yeah, Romans one. Looking at verse 24 through, 24 through 32. Very familiar scripture. You read it, you heard it, but look at it for yourself. Romans, the first chapter. starting with verse 24. You have to say amen. Well, for God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lust of their own heart, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves, who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worship and serve the creature more than the creator, who was blessed forever, amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections. For even the women did change their natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burning their lust one towards another. Men with men, working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense for their error, which was me. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient. Being filled with all unrighteousness, and fornication, and wickedness, and covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder. debate, deceit, malignity, whispers, back biters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things. It's so bad, you're gonna invent some evil. Make up some stuff. It's bad enough, you make up stuff. Disobedience to pants, that's widespread. without understanding, covet breakers, without natural afflictions, implacable, unmerciful, who knowing the judgment of God, they which commit such things are worthy of death. That is again, y'all, the penalty of sin. Not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. What I said earlier, people that lives in sin and commit sin constantly, They don't take no thought about it. You just do it. Because God done gave you up. This country, the United States, if our great-grandparents was living today, I could see them on the White House step, Pastor. with canes, with wheelchairs, telling them leaders, you going to hell. I mean, they were black back then. I mean, we kind of toned it down a little bit now, Mel. But back then, because it was unheard of. Rapid as sin is. The penalty of sin. It's consequences. It's consequences. Oh, yes, it is. Consequences of sin. Lord, help us. Romans, sixth chapter. Go to Romans, sixth chapter. Let's flip on over. Romans, sixth chapter, starting with verse 16 through 23. Romans the sixth chapter, starting with verse 16 through 23. You have to say amen. Amen, amen, amen. Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey? His servants ye are to whom ye obey. For the sin unto death, look how that coin, that's a hookup. When you see sin, you see death. together. That's the penalty of sin. Death. Sin and death. Whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness. But God be thankful that ye were the servants of sin. But you had obeyed from the heart that from of the doctrine which was delivered to you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. I speak after the matter of men because of the infirmities of your flesh. For as ye have yielded your member servants to uncleanness and to the iniquities unto iniquity, even so now yield your member servants to righteousness unto holiness. For when ye were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness. What food had you then? Those things were of ye are now ashamed. Ashamed, yeah. I can look back on my life. And I am. I'm truly ashamed. And don't try to judge your sins with somebody else's sins. Sin is sin. Ain't no big sins, ain't no little sins. Yours ain't badder than nobody else's. It's still sin. I don't care if you didn't smoke, you didn't dope, or homunga, whatever. Sin is sin. Verse 21. What fruit had you then in those things? What of you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruits unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death. There it is again, sin and death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. That's consequences for sin. And it'll tell you, sin and death. Sin and death, that's a penalty. That's a penalty. The wages of sin is death. Paul called himself the chief sinner. I guess with the things that he did, the things that he went through, you know, ignorantly, not really knowing, but thought he was right. Now, when I think about my past and the sins that I committed, I knew they were wrong. I knew it was wrong. But I was going along with the crowd, like so many do today. Because my cousin and them did it. Yeah. I was young. You know how they turn the young ones out? They ever know? I don't know if Herbert know or not. Herbert probably don't know too much about that. But the rest of y'all, no Chuckie, no Amos, no John, no Pastor, no. Brandon, no. No, them J Darrell, Roy. I think I got most of everybody in here. Praise God. I mentioned John. I got John, too. Chuckie put his hand on you, John. Praise God. Praise God. But that's it, y'all. James, first chapter of James. Book of James. Flip on over. Book of James. Look at the book of James. Book of James, first chapter. Book of James. Praise God, first chapter. Book of James. First chapter, Book of James. Look in that verse 12. He said, blessed is the man that endure temptation. For when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God. For God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempt he any man. But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. And sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. That a combination, y'all. Sin and sin, when it's finished, bringeth forth death. There's consequences. There's a penalty for sin. Yes, it is. But thanks be to God. There's a remedy. There's a remedy for sin. I think I can shout on that, y'all. I can shout on that. There's a remedy for sin. There's a remedy for my past sins. There's a remedy, Melvin, for those future sins that I'm gonna cast down just as quick as they pop up. There's a remedy, y'all, and that remedy name is Jesus. Jesus is the remedy. Yes, it is. I love it when John said, the lamb of God that come to take away the sins of the world. He's my lamb. He came for me, Herbert. See, I make it personal. The lamb of God that came and took away my sins. He paid the price for me, Herbert. See it for yourself, see it for yourself. John, first chapter, first chapter. John, first chapter. I'm getting a little excited, y'all. John, the first chapter, starting with verse 29. I like when John said it. John shouted when he said it. John put an emphasis on it. First chapter of John, verse 29. You have to say amen. The next day John saw Jesus coming unto him and said, behold, the Lamb of God will take away the sins of the world. That's my remedy, y'all. I read in John where he said it. That's my remedy for past, present, and whatever. That's my remedy. This is he of whom I said, after me come the man which is preferred before me, for he was before me. And I knew him not, but that he should be made manifest to Israel. Therefore am I come baptizing with water. and John bad record, y'all, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not, but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and remaining on him, the same as he was baptized with the Holy Ghost, with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, John said, in bad record, that this is the Son of God. And again, the next day after, John stood and two of his disciples, and looking upon Jesus as he walked, and he said, behold, the Lamb of God, day come again. Take away the sins of the world. Oh yeah, he's my deliverer. He's my mediator. He advocate for me. That's right. That's right. Yes, sir. Praise God. Thank you, Jesus. Testify somebody. The lamb of God. If you believe, you can receive, he said. I believe, and I receive, Melvin. That's my remedy. They talk about COVID-19. They got vaccines. I got a shot, y'all. I got a shot right here. Here my shot is. My shot right here. I got plenty of shots in here. And he's not a man that he should lie. Shoot me up, man. Shoot me up. That's my shot. That's my remedy. The lamb of God. Yeah, that's the lamb, y'all. He take away sins, all sins. And that's what this country need. This country need Jesus. Pastor, I love Pastor. His podcast and the name the Lord gave him with that podcast, Jesus is the answer. Jesus is the answer. Man, all these other folks, they look into scientists, they look into different leaders, and all these other folks. The answer is Jesus. That's the remedy. That's the remedy, y'all. It's Jesus. Yes, it is. The remedy is Jesus. You know, the remedy, For sin, it's twofold. It's twofold. And what I mean by that is, number one is forgiveness. Forgiveness. Forgiveness of sin. Make it personal. Forgiveness of my sin. Forgiveness erases the guilt of sin. When you repent and ask for forgiveness. You know, a lot of times we can say things, it comes out before you know it, and you get convicted. The Holy Spirit convicts you. And man, it's like you wanna crawl in a hole somewhere. Because the Holy Spirit done convicted you. And you quickly ask for forgiveness. It can be a little thing. A little thing. But the Holy Spirit will convict you. When you say something out of the way, when you do something out of the way, the Holy Spirit is there. He left the Holy Spirit to give us power. Give us power to resist the enemy and his tricks and his deception. Because they coming, y'all. They are coming. Number two is justification. Justification is a declaration of the righteousness of God that inputted into us in the work of Jesus Christ. Just as you had never seen justification, you justify when you repent of your sins. And you call on Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Your hope of glory. Your hope for tomorrow. Justification. Oh yeah. Yeah. Hebrews 10th chapter. Go to Hebrews. Hebrews 10th chapter. Hebrews 10th chapter. Looking at the first seven verses. Hebrews 10th chapter. The remedy for sin, y'all, is in Jesus Christ. Hebrews 10th chapter, the first seven verses. You have it, say amen. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the commas there unto perfect. Never can. Never can. Never can. For then would they not have ceased to be offered, because that their worshipers once purged should have had no more conscience of sin. But in those sacrifices, there is a remembrance of being made of sin. Every year, every year, there's a remembrance. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he said, Sacrifices and offerings thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me. And due to offerings and sacrifices for sin, thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lord, I come in the volume of the book it is written of me to do thy will, O God. He said, I come in the book to do the Lord's will. to take away your sins once and for all. Not after you have to go back and forth like they did in the Old Testament. Every year you gotta come back. And you know, as I was studying this particular book, in the Old Testament they had penalties for death going and coming. You take some time out and you search the scriptures. about the penalties of sin. I mean, for not obeying the Sabbath day. Anything. They killed you for it. And it just stinks. If we had those penalties today, ma'am, they talking about overpopulation. It wouldn't be enough for y'all here. I mean, I read like 42 death penalties, Rosie. For some of everything. I can't even mention half of them. But just reading them, I'm like, Lord. Penalties for sin. Oh yeah, it's something y'all. In the life we live, if it wasn't for the mercy of God, if it wasn't for God's remnant of people, his true believers that's praying for this country, that's praying for families, that's praying for coworkers, people we don't know. My remedy is Jesus Christ. That's my remedy. Romans, third chapter. Go to Romans, third chapter. Just flip back over, Romans, third chapter. Looking at verse 21 through 26. Romans third chapter. Verse 21 through 26. You have to say amen. But now the righteousness of God, without the law, is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets. Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe. For there is no difference, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. been justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through the faith in His blood to declare His righteousness for the remission of sin that are passed through the forbearance of God. The forbearance of God. That's the self-restraint that God has held back on each and every one of us because of our sins. He's giving you that forbearance that you may come to Him before it's too late. Before it's too late. He's giving you time. He give all us time. I thank God he gave me time. Because I read in his word, he said, while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me. I make it personal. When I read them different scriptures, I make it personal. While I was yet in sin. I ain't talking about y'all and y'all's sin. I'm talking about me and my sins. He died for me. I'm like, Tony, he saved me, that's enough. All that other stuff, that don't amount to a hill of beans. But he saved me while I was yet a sinner, Melvin. While I was yet a sinner. That's what his word said. That's what his word promised. I'm here as a living witness. I can testify. While I was yet a sinner, his forbearance was for me. Verse 26, he said, to declare, I say, at this time, his righteousness, that he might be just and to justify of him which believed in Jesus. He's just and he's to justify. Yes, he is. Just and to justify. He then give me what I deserve. I deserve death. And he had mercy on me. That's what I'm talking about. I'm getting hot up here, man. I'm going to have to hurry up and sit down. Praise God. Praise God. Romans, Romans, 8th chapter. 8th chapter of Romans. Let's flip on over. Romans, 8th chapter. Looking at the first four verses, Romans 8th chapter. First four verses. You have it, say amen. There's therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Boy, look at that combination. Woo, Lord. sin and death. For what the law could not do, and that it was weak through the flesh, God sent in his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Don't you wonder sometime when you do stuff and you say, why did I do that? Sound like one of them actors on TV. Old Urkel, I think. Urkel used to say that. Why did I do that? Sin. Sin. That's what Paul said. Paul said, when I try to do good, evil is always present. When I try to do good, when I try to do what's right, that old sinful man, he wanna raise his head up, Melvin? That's why you gotta keep your foot on his head. Keep your foot on his head. If he look like he peeping up under the rock, push the rock down on his head. Man. I'm talking about just the little things, y'all. When I'm driving sometime, somebody pull out there in the wrong way, ma'am. That old man try to come up in the next seat over there. Say something to him, ma'am. Blow the horn. That's that old man, Herbert. Don't think you leave him at home when you leave home. Yeah. Y'all been out there lookin' at me like that? Praise God. Whee! First John, man, go to First John. First John, last two scriptures here. First John, last two scriptures. Praise God. First John, first chapter. looking at verse eight through 10. First John, first chapter, looking at verse eight through 10. You have it, say amen. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. And the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar. And his word is not in us. His word ain't in you, y'all. Now flip on over to the fourth chapter of 1 John. Just flip on over to the fourth chapter. Looking at verse 8 through 10. 1 John, fourth chapter, verses 8 through 10. You have it say amen. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. And this was manifested, the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten son into the world that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be a propitiation for our sins. He sent his son. That's the remedy, y'all. If you don't get nothing else from this message, the penalty of sin is death, but the remedy is Jesus Christ. When you confess him with your mouth and believe in your heart that he died and he rose again, the Bible said you shall be saved, not will be, you shall be. As we come offering the gift, the best gift that anybody can offer you, the gift of salvation. I thank God that it was offered to me more than once. But I thank God that he put it on my heart to say yes to his will and yes to his way. I thank God that that gift was offered through his word. through the seed of word that was planted in my heart. Like the Bible said, but when the fullness of time came, God sent forth his son, made of a woman. And I thank him for it. If you backslid in the day, like I told you, sin has consequences. But there is a remedy. He's married to the backslider. The gift was offered and I hoped you already have it. But if you don't, it's still time. Praise God.
