Hi, I'm Grady Mercer. and this is a devotional of my writings of past days. I've entitled this, Whispers of the Black Forest. Through the mist of Belgium's trees, where the black forest hums with ease, boots press deep in the softened ground, echoed steps, no other sound. The winds would whisper low and grim, like ghosts that danced on branches thin. I swore I heard the past still roam, soldiers marching far from home. By the Rhine where the waters weave, through castles old and misbelieved. I trained where warriors long had stood, Felt their echoes in the wood. Then Hamlin called three months I stayed, where children vanished, debts were paid. The Pied Piper's tune still haunts the night, a melody both dark and bright. Howlin' twice I rode the rails, through tulip fields and stormy gales. The train wheels sang a song so true. a traveler's heart, both old and new. Through all the miles the roads I crossed, through stories gained and moments lost, one truth remains still standing tall, the world is wide, yet whispers call. you
