Contemplation. That's what I've
called this video. Today is the 21st of February. Tuesday morning. Are you in a contemplative state
of mind this morning? Are you contemplating, surmising,
meditating, musing, feuding about life, philosophizing, surmising? We all go through periods of
our life where we're in a contemplative mood. When I by faith my maker see,
in weakness and distress, brought down to that sad state for us,
for me, which angels can't express, When that great God to whom I
go, for help amazed I view, By sin and sorrow sunk as low as
I in love were to. For all our sins He may call,
as He sustained their weight. How huge the heavy load of all,
when only mine's so great! When ravaged with the rich belief
Of such a love as this, I'm lost in wonder, Melt with grief and
faint beneath the bliss. Prostrate I fall, ashamed of
doubt, And worship love divine. Thus may I always be devout By
this religion mine. In this alone I can confide,
Here's righteousness enough. What's all the boast of nature's
pride? What unsubstantiate, what unsubstantial
stuff? Rounds of dead service, forms,
and ways, Which some so much esteem, compared with this stupendous
grace, What trivial trash they seem. Lord, help a worthless
worm so weak, He can do nothing good, may all I act, or think,
or speak, Be sprinkled with thy blood. heart from the perfect sacrifice
of Jesus Christ, there is no hope for man. The only hope we have is that
He died for us. You souls that trust in Christ,
rejoice. Your sins are all forgiven. Let
every Christian lift his voice and sing the joys of heaven.
Heaven is that holy, happy place where sin no more defiles, where
God unveils his blissful face and looks and loves and smiles.
Where Jesus, Son of Man and God, triumphant from His wars, walks
in rich garments dipped in blood, and shows His glorious scars.
Where ransomed sinners sound God's praise, the angelic hosts
among, sing the riches, wonders of His grace, and Jesus leads
the song. Where saints are free from every
load of passions or of pains, God dwells in them and they in
God, and love forever reigns. eye hath not seen, nor ear hath
heard, nor can the heart conceive, all that the blood of Christ
procured, or all that God can give. Lord, as Thou show'st Thy
glory there, make known Thy grace to us, and heaven we will not
be wanting here, while we can Him they trust. Jesus, our dear
Redeemer, died that we might be forgiven, rose that we might
be justified, and sends the Spirit from heaven. Well, you know, I've often said
probably one of the most liberating things that was ever
revealed to me was the origin of faith. I was taught all my life, you
gotta have faith, you gotta have faith. How do you get this faith? You know? Now the free willers
say, well, you just got to make a decision. You just got to make
a decision. You're going to have faith and
once you make the decision, faith will come. Well, the Bible tells us something
totally different. The Bible tells us in Hebrews
12 too, that He's the author and finisher of our faith. He
authorized it, and if He authorized it, He's going to finish it.
That's grand news for those of us who are dead in our trespasses and sin,
and God causes us to be born again by His Spirit. We no longer
are trusting in something in the flesh of ourselves, but we're
looking to Him, the author and finisher of our faith. It's a
great revelation. It needs to be revealed to all
of God's people, and will be revealed if you're one of His
elect to you. We are at the mercy and grace
of God. That is our only hope. We do
not look to ourselves for anything. It's not of works lest any man
should boast. We are His workmanship created
unto good works that we should walk in them. This revival they're talking
about in Asbury University is all about the show and emotions. You know, people flying from
all over the world to see what's going on. Let me tell you something. God doesn't need men to show
up. God doesn't need men to show
up. God can reveal himself in the
deepest, darkest crevices of the earth if he chooses to do
so. He doesn't need a university. He doesn't need catchy sayings
like a great awakening. God is alive and well. He's wide
awake. He doesn't need an awakening. He said, if I go away and prepare
a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself,
that where I am, you may be also. He also said, if I go away, I
will send the Spirit, the Comforter. If we're one of God's elect,
we have His Holy Spirit. And so, everybody's looking for
something in the flesh. Show us a sign, show us a sign. There won't be a sign given to
you as the sign of Jonah in three days and three nights in the
belly of the whale. As Jesus was three days and three
nights in the belly of the earth. That's the only sign that will
be given to you. Well, I hope you have a blessed
day today and realize that God's callings are sure. Because
it goes beyond just calling you. It goes beyond just calling you. It goes to predestinating you
to be one of his adopted daughters or sons. You don't hear that going on
in Asbury Revival, do you? You don't hear them talking about
predestination and adoption. You don't hear anything about
that. It's all about the free will
of man, which is a joke. Thy way, not mine, O Lord. However dark it be, O lead me
by thine own right hand. Choose thou the path for me,
not mine, not mine that choice. If things be great or small,
be thou my guide, my guard, my strength, my wisdom, and my all. I dare not choose my lot. I would not if I might. But choose thou for me, O my
Lord, so shall I walk aright. Is that your testimony this morning?
Are you relying upon the God of the universe, or are you relying
upon something that doesn't exist, your free will? May the good
Lord be with you today. It's my prayer. God bless.
