Passing of a Patriarch. It's the title of today's message. Genesis chapter 25 verses 1 to 11. to his family, to his friends and relatives around him, to the place where he lives, the contributions he has made, the things that he has experienced in his life, he has the confidence to He has the confidence to follow the Lord and walk on the right path. A believer's life is worth remembering. A believer's life is worth remembering. We are going to talk about some of the things that happened when Abolahan passed away. He was one of the most important figures in the history of Chinese history. the most influential believer. He was also a, let's say, he was a servant who followed his master. He The impact of a man's life, of a lifetime of service, and a legacy of faith, and example of piety, is worth recounting. We have come to the passing of Abraham, He's the oldest and greatest of Old Testament missionary and the bereavement of this missionary family. When Abraham was 75 years old, God sent him to a faraway place to be served. He wanted to do this service. He wanted to move his whole family to a strange place. When he was 75 years old, the gods sent him away. His service lasted for 100 years. He served the Lord. From the moment the Lord sent him, to the moment he passed away, it was a very long time. He did not retreat. His life his confidence was still very strong. Although he was 175 years old, For Abraham, he lived and served from the time God called him at the age of 75, a hundred years, till the day he died. He did not look back. It was a journey that took him to a foreign land. He had to go together with his family, and it will be a journey of no return. a journey that he would embark upon for all his life, till the end of his life. And we can see from our memory verse in Hebrews 11, 13, that he did not see, as it were, the fulfillment of the promises that God gave to him to inherit the land, to have posterity like the sand of the sea, like the stars in the sky. 神对他的应许 说这迦南帝是赐给他的 在他在世的时候 他没有看到这些事情发生 在迦南帝 是有很多王占领那个地方 那神也 It is said that he was stabbed in the back of his head. There were so many stars and sand on the ground. But he didn't see them when he was alive. It is said that these people died because they had faith. Because they had faith. The Bible says that these all died in faith, not receiving the promises. But having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them and embraced them. Confess that they were pilgrims and strangers on the earth. This was Abraham's life. God appeared to Abraham. and promised him that God will make his descendants a great nation and that the savior of the world would come through his seed. Later on, God will change his name to the father of many nations. That's the meaning of the word Abraham. 神会通过他 Because we know, We have started studying the life of Abraham from chapter 12 onwards, and now at his death, we are at chapter 25. this series, Calling and Blessing. We saw how the world was dispersed when men rebelled against God. And in order to reach the dispersed nations of the world, God will use a man, Abraham, to fulfill this purpose. We know that in the 10th and 11th chapters of the Book of Genesis, people from all over the world gathered together to reject the leadership of the gods. The gods then spread them out to the rest of the world. How can we save these people who are spreading the virus? We need to start from a family to bless the whole world. God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, will come from the loins of Abraham. When we read the Bible, God wants us to know the story of the Bible. reveals God that changes not. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And the way He deals with men is the same in all time, with the same principles, And therefore, we can apply it from the lessons of Abraham that happened almost 4,000 years ago to our time. 亚伯拉罕的生命, 他的性性的经历, 神怎么对待他, is the same. We can learn a lot from it. What we are going to talk about today is that Abraham was a very confident man. Puran, verse 7 of our text, gives us our first thought that Abraham was indeed a man of faith. He was a man of faith, a pillar of faith. His days, verse seven tells us, and these are the days of Abraham, the years of Abraham's life, which he lived, 103 score, one score is 20 years, so three score, 60 years, and 15, so 175 years. Then Abraham gave up the ghost and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people. Yabolahan, he is a father. He is a good father. His descendants gathered together when he died. God said that Abraham is going to be the father of a great nation. Well, all this we see did not fulfill in his lifetime. He did not see any of these things, but he believed God. And we see, we see what happened through history. We have 4,000 years of history to observe the truth of God's promises to Abraham. how it was fulfilled. He could only see it by faith. What did God want Abraham to do? Well, God wanted Abraham to be a witness for God. And the New Testament described Abraham as a man of faith three times. It is described, Abraham believed God. He was a witness for God. He believed God, and that's so important. He believed God. So this first thing we want to remember about Abraham is his faith. He believed God, he trusted God. In other words, his life was guided by God. Yabolahan. is a person who believes in God. He is a person who believes in God. In the New Testament, it is recorded three times. In the book of Romans, in the book of Galatians, in the book of Acts, The Bible says that Abraham believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. In other words, he believed God and God saved him. He believed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Three times it was recorded in the New Testament scriptures. He was a man of faith. He believed God and God saved him. God saved him. He understood the way of salvation. It will be through his descendant, the descendant that will come, the son of God that will come, the Lord Jesus Christ that will come from his loins. He believed that. And he was counted unto him for righteousness. So he was saved. a man of faith. For us, it's the same. Abraham looked forward to his descendant, the Son that will come, Jesus Christ, that will give him righteousness. For us, we look back at the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who came 2,000 years ago to give us righteousness. The word righteousness means to be right with God, to how to have our sins forgiven and to make right with God. Abraham believed God. He made right with God. And he was described as someone who walked with God, loved God and walked with God. He was a believer. He loved God and walked with God. The Bible says that he is not only a god of faith, he is also a man of faith. Someone who believes God must show by a life of obedience to God that he believes. That's the proof of faith. James described that Abraham was justified, not just by faith in God, but by his obedience to the call of God, to the instruction of God. His greatest test was to find his son Isaac on the boat. me up. So. Also, Bye. And. We talked about it in the 18th and 19th chapters of the Fourteen Chapters of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Fourteen Stanzas of the Four Abraham not only was someone who would teach his children faith, but to live with justice and to do justice and judgment. In other words, to live in obedience to God's law and to counsel others to do likewise, setting an example. So here, you see that Abraham's faith was not just a faith on his own. but he influenced his own family, his own children, so that they would follow the Lord and that they would do justice and judgment. In other words, they would live in obedience to God's law and also to counsel others to do likewise. So here is given us the example and God himself approved Abraham Genesis 18-19 says I know him for I know him Here is a proof of this man's faith. He will command his children and his household to follow him. over him. We see this in Chapter 12, Chapter 8, Chapter 13, Chapter 10, Chapter 4. God, through him, every time he goes to a place, he sets up a altar there to worship the Jews. Whenever he goes, he will set up a family altar to worship the living and true God. And so he led his family, he commanded his family. The word there is command. 那字就是神,亚伯拉罕他命令 command his family and his household. So do they have a choice? No. He guided them. He made sure that they shall keep the way of the law. That they shall keep the way of the law. They shall keep the way of the Lord. So Abraham did not fail to instruct and train his family in the ways of God. He instilled the fear of God in the hearts of his children and household. They did not go after the lifestyle of Sodom and Gomorrah. We all know that at that time, during Abraham's lifetime, there was a big catastrophe. A big catastrophe. Fire came down from heaven to destroy the city that was just next door to where he stayed. Everything destroyed. He did not join them. He instructed his children to stay clear, his family to stay clear from the destruction, from the ways of Sodom and Gomorrah. God protected them. He followed the bad custom and finally he received the blessing of God This was the life of Abraham This is the life of Abraham
