Series John Tobler, Doctrine of God
We already sang about the knowledge of God, so the knowledge of God is worth singing praises about in Psalm 139. And so, the psalmist there sings praises of the, really inexpressible nature of God's knowledge. And in Romans 11, 33 to 36, we see similar, we see Paul break into praise or doxology concerning the nature of God's knowledge and wisdom. So it is first and foremost an admirable thing, the knowledge of God. It is a praiseworthy thing. You all know this famous portion of Romans, oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God, how unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out. O communicates to us, that Greek word O communicates to us that the knowledge of God is to be adored. Paul makes this exclamation of praise Not because he's grasped it, after he's dealt with some very heavy, weighty matters. Not because he's grasped it, but because it eludes his grasp. It's essentially what he's doing there. He cannot fathom it.
